Totally DNF!!! There is nothing a magnetic container could be attached to at GZ. Judging from aerial photos there used to be a power pole (or similar) at GZ. There is a long narrow shadow visible on the ground. However there is no pole present there, at least not anymore.
GZ has changed .

I was born in 1959 so the 70s were my teenage years. I grew up in Balwyn so to hear the name of your suburb in a song was fantastic. Living in the 70s was one of the first albums I bought and having songs banned from the radio only made it more popular. Marketing genius. I will have to look for more in the series.

Wow. That is one strong magnet. Lots of muggles around but easy to take a break there.
Found with FUF009 on a day out caching. I had picked a few caches around the area. Normally we end up miles away but today we had a few other things planned so stayed closer to home.
I've found a few of the Skyhooks caches. I don't seen them out but like it when I do come across them. Tftc

Find # 4472
A weekend the big smoke with good friend sharkiefan.
she had selected a number of caches closer to her place, normally we venture quite some way away so it was quite novel to be so close yet seem so far, and to make a few "Urban" finds
A quick little find in a logical place, managed to miss all the mud into GZ from the concrete path.

found while out with mark9375 this was a nice park with a nice easy find bur lots of muggles and dogs TFTC
You forgot to mention their song Jukebox In Siberia! A personal favourite of mine I've never see Skyhooks live but I enjoy listening to Red Simons on radio 774. Hope You make a speedy recovery from the fall Red so you can continue to entertain me on my way to work.
Cheers, TFTC!

I'd been bedridden with a bug for the last 2 days, but I forced myself up and at 'em for my daily cache. My first two attempts at simple grabs failed as muggles had been a problem. I could feel my stamina depleting with each aborted effort - third time lucky, hopefully.
Thankfully, this park was peaceful. A light shower gave me a shiver as I made my way over the short muddy section to GZ. The cache was found and signed, and this zombie could at last rest once more.
Thanks tackle_head. I never saw Skyhooks, but I did work with someone close to the band who told me a number of their stories from quite a rare perspective.
Also, I remember watching a Rage special recently which showed a Skyhooks concert from 1974 at The Sydney Opera House. The band was so ahead of its time that most of the audience were simply stunned and at a loss.
It was truly captivating!!

Needing a cache or two to continue my streak, fill a calendar slot and work towards a challenge I wandered over from the nearby TAFW cache and made a quick find.
Cheers, tackle_head.

A second quick cache for the evening. Just before dinner but all is well.
Grabbed the TB here and will move on.
Thanks for the Skyhooks history again!

We were in the area and needed a cache today so decided to quickly get this one. Nice little park and playground for the geokids. Quick easy find at GZ. Dropped off TB to continue it on its way. TFTC.
There was a solitary muggle here today that was quite suspicious of what we were doing, but thankfully her canines took her in a different direction. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.

No problems in Balwyn today and I'm not getting out until the caching is done.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks for this simple find here today.

This is the third time I've tried to get this one, because it was muggle central the last two.
Skyhooks was before my time but I was surprised to learn as a kid when we would watch Hey Hey, that Red Symons was once in a rock band.

My previous few caches were all massively long hikes over scenic mountains with spectacular views, finding ammo cans in rocky ledges in clear, fresh mountain air.
Today I was at a 40th birthday party in Balwyn, playing board games (the theme of the party). The kids were getting restless so I took them out to find the nearest geocache.
"It's great!!!" I said. "It's an adventure, you find cool treasures in the most AWESOME of spots."
Instead we found this one.
Oh well.
Still a nice theme for a cache, I think I may have found one other in this series before, not sure.

The Macainish household was across the creek from us and I remember several hours of wonderful entertainment one hot summer's day as Skyhooks practised there. Tftc
Found as our P366 cache of the day, before heading off to the AC/DC concert at Etihad. We'd been to this park before but there were too many muggles near GZ, so we bailed. Had more luck today with an empty park and the cache was quickly found. On the way here we were driving behind a car with a travel bug sticker on it, managed to take a photo and log! TFTC
Found it, book was so wet couldn't sign it left cardboard signed in it. Lid also missing.
Also adding that it is soggy. Added business card with n&n. For the next finder.. Please turn cache on its side so it doesn't fill up with rain... It's still lidless.. Tftc
Easy find for geokid. This is my third of the series. My most vivid memory of the band involved Hey Hey it's Saturday- I loved it as a kid. Tftc
Thanks for taking me to this awesome little park! The lid seems to be missing from the cache container and might need a new replacement but surprisingly wasn't wet So I Signed it luckily. TFTC
Tin has no lid and seems to be bolted on. log book wet. Nice easy find, in the first pkace i looked. Cute lil park. Tftc
I was on my way to an appointment when I noticed this cache was still unfounded by us so I set about having a look.
I grabbed the umbrella and in no time I was at the cache.
The cache log and container are in urgent need of repair as the lid has gone and the log book is soaked.
Unfortunately I had nothing with me to fix it and even the hope of a similar discarded container was non existent.
Our thanks to Tackle Head for the cache.

It was too chilly here in the early hours of this morning for even the direhard joggers. Make a quick find walking across the crunchy lawn. TFTC and another piece of history.
Visited this park today and found this cache. Never heard of the skyhooks before. Enjoyed reading about them in the description and my interest has been perked. Must look them up on YouTube.
Container was found safe and well. The magnet was STRONG but eventually got it free, signed log and replaced.

Nice quick find on the way home tonight. Had to check to make sure no spiders were in their webs but all good! TFTC
Out with JSando for a quick drive and decided this one was too close to leave. A nice quick find. TFTC
First cache on our third day in Melbourne. Today we want to visit the Australien Open so this cache will be the onliest cache fortoday.

On our [trip around the world](http://www.hoppundweg.piekar.de/) we came to Australia as well. We started in Tasmania, rented a campervan in Melbourne and went up the Eastcoast to Cairns. Then we drove all the way to the Red Centre. We finished in Darwin. We searched many caches and found almost every cache we searched for . Thanks to all the owners of these caches. Now, 2 years later, we recognized, we will never be able to log every cache seperately... So: Sorry for this standard logtext and thanks for one of the caches, which accompanied us on our journey.
With my regular Sunday arvo caching buddy Spiffy- off working on his tan in QLD I tooknthe opportunity to collect a few cache that he had already found. This cache was quickly found and had the strongest magnet on it I have ever found. I had never seen the skyhooks live but regularly listen to Red on my morning commute. Thanks tackle_head for the cache.
It's Boxing Day afternoon and we are down in Melbourne to do the various rounds with the relatives. And take a break caching in between of course!
This is our second Skyhooks cache and simply for being that, there is a favourite point! I think I rambled on in the Lygon Street one about my love affair with Skyhooks when I was a teenager, seeing them at the Princess and the Palais, and living and breathing them. One can never ramble on too much about Skyhooks so no apologies if I'm saying it twice The scary thing about this cache is that I grew up in Balwyn. Although I have locked Chunk into a country property prison out at Beaufort rather than a brick veneer one
Thanks for the cache tackle_head, and for the memories. We will get to all the Skyhooks ones eventually. (and the Mad Max ones and the fishing ones!).

Suscoe's 19th find of the day on a trip to Melbourne.
A glorious Summer's day greeted us here.
33 degrees and fairly clear skies.
The traffic was pretty light and we appreciated the absence of sporting muggles and a low volume of cars on the roads.
Thanks to tackle_head for bringing back that song into our minds, the tune is zipping around in my head as a I log this find.

Easy find, but log unsigned as I couldn't budge the cache or extract the contents! (Vertically challenged). A lovely park - thanks for bringing me here.
Find #541
We had a Tarbit family function near to here and as fun as it was I took the opportunity to duck out for a short while to grab a few nearby caches. This was the second of four quick finds. A few dog walking muggles in the park and some families around the playground but clear in the spot where I wanted to look. Another where I had it worked out as I approached and luckily my hypothesis proved correct and the cache was soon in hand. It's certainly securely attached! Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited a few TBs that I am looking after before a trip to Queensland.

Quick drive by and drop in. Never attended a concert. But appreciated their music. TFTC.
I was "Livin' in the 70's" through my 20's and liked Skyhooks music. However children and a mortgage prevented going to any concerts. Anyway in honour of them and especially "Shirl", I wanted to get at least one of these while visiting Melbourne. And today I did in this lovely secluded park. Thanks for the cache tackle head and bringing me here.
What to do, I heard Balwyn calling so I came here to look and listen.
I never had the good fortune to see the Skyhooks live but grew up listening to their songs.
Thanks for the cache and the series tackle_head.

Great magnet , quick find , not so quick retrieval . I saw Skyhooks live on their reunion tour, at Westend Sunshine Feb 1st 1991. I was with some younger people and they were amazed that I knew the words to all of the songs, it was a great night capped off by Shirley saying before their R-Rated song (My favorite song) " the angels might have their song (referring to Am I ever gonna see your face again) but we've got the original and best one". Why don't you all ... TFTC
Took a while to get this cache, sign the log and replace it due to the muggles walking their dogs this am. Yes, we found the magnet rather strong too and this does add to the challenge as regards timing!! What a lovely park - the trees were displaying their beautifully coloured leaves - thanks to Autumn!
TFTC tackle head and for bringing us to this park to enjoy it this am - much appreciated.

Out caching on a lovely Sunday afternoon with a fellow cacher.
Last cache for the day. Easy find once all the Mugglers in the park walking their dogs had left. TNLN TFTC.

Yes, that is one STRONG magnet. Never saw the band live but liked their music during my teenage years. Thanks for reminding me. Nice park.
Nice little park and a quick find. I've often thought of hiding a cache in that type of spot, but haven't got round to it yet. TFTC
We are sorry we know nothing about Sky Hooks other than I was sent to buy one at a scout camp. Our music ends with the Beatles
Yes! No muggles today. Quick pickup and log sign then back to work

Now that's what I call a magnet!!! Piled this one up on a stroll before work. Nice little walk through park but a bit swampy this morn. Thanks
This was a quick pick up after second breakfast at the nearby Maccas.
Thanks for the cache, tackle_head!
