Another lovely off the beaten track place to come to, that we wouldn't have otherwise found. As others have said, we had a false start approaching from the west, and had to circle round to approach by road from the east. Found the cache after a few minutes searching. Tftc
Found It!Interesting little bit of history that you'd probably never visit (or even know about) if not for this cache. Spotted the cache after a couple laps of the building while it was raining.TFTC
Checking out a few tracks with kploz and it’s a perfect excuse to stop for a cache.
Mystery surrounds the plaque that states “remembered with respect” and I look forward to learning more about the school hall.
Nice amount of unloved on the cache that was easily found when you read what you are looking for. TFTC

I was looking in what I thought was the right spot, then missed shot around the side and exclaimed the magic words "found it" great spot tftc
Got some help from @sedane and @pullw and headed back out here to check whether the cache was still in place. Cache is here and in good condition. Signed the log. Won't log as a find because I didn't find it unaided. A learning experience for me.
Previous logs indicated it was challenging to locate, but coming away from a D1.0 with a DNF and a few photos wasn't what I hoped for.
*edit* First live wombat in the wild encounter, that's pretty cool!

Another cache that took us to a place that we had no idea was there. Great little spot, took a little while to find the cache but soon found once we looked a bit closer.

Attempted this on the wrong road.
Wasn't sure if we should have walked through the track along the farm land so we decided to pull the pin.

A small detour up apparently the right road bought the bananas to the remnants of a school that once was.
It was obviously a small school if only one cubicle was required.
Thank you Ladies and Gentlemen
Nice spot though.

We seemed to take the long way to get here, but we did make it all the way to the monument and it wasn't long before we had this cache in hand.
Thanks for the placement here djcache.

The long weekend was here and it was time for fitzy_1965 and I to head down to Vic in the geo-unit for an epic geomission We had a great time camping, cruising around admiring the beautiful scenery and nabbing LOTS of caches! A great weekend of quality caching all round!
We made the mistake as others have done by approaching this one from Wairewa Rd Best to come in from Princes Hwy/Old Princes Hwy. But once in it was fun in the geo-unit on the trails-even had to strategically drive around a massive fallen tree! But once at GZ a few moments of searching yielded the cache.
Thanks for the hide, djcache

14772. Found during a long weekend caching run down through the Bombala / Genoa / Mallacoota / Cann River / Orbost / Lakes Entrance / Bairnsdale regions with specimenX.
A long weekend caching plan was hatched with specimenX to head down to Victoria for 4 days of caching and camping. Had a fantastic time driving around enjoying the scenery, camping at various locations, plus the huge number of caches to be found. Day Four was here, and we packed up again. Next find for the day while now heading towards home. This was quite the adventure, driving around back roads until finding the signposts in. Even then we had to avoid a large fallen tree on the road. Finally at GZ specimenX made the find. Signed the log, returned the cache, and we headed off to the next one.
Thanks to all the COs for placing their caches !!

This was a fun cache to find
Me first mistake was heading out along Wairewa Road
There is no access from that road
Unless of course you want to go strolling across the farmer's paddocks,
and swimming a creek
A bit later in the caching day,
from another cache,
I found the way to GZ
A lovely drive along the olde highway to start,
then a drive along the dirt, forest trails to reach the well signposted 'Pioneer Memorial'
This used to be a nice picinic spot once upon a time.
It still is
A lovely area to set up camp for a night or three [^]
Just don't try to use the facilities,
unless you have a good aim
Speaking of facilities,
I poked around the 'gents' for a while and couldn't find any trace of a cache [:o]
It was just before giving up the search I spied something in an unexpected place
Hooray !!
A cache
I'm sure it didn't belong where I found it [:o]
So I put it in a much more suitable spot.
Which should keep it dryer too [^]
TFTC
I'm flushed with pride at finding it
I took the TB "Geo Nick" with me

My grandparents, sisters and I found this cache together. It was really fun, thank you to the person who hid this cache.
Today we explored Orbost and surrounds using geocaching as a guide and picking up a few caches on the way and this was one of them. An easy find, but had fun following the fence line of the state forest, nearly go stuck, easier to take to round trek, all gravel to GZ.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Tavelling today from Tathra, I picked the BFH series at the beginning, then various caches along the way to break my journey. I trusted Tom Tom to get me here - bad decision. I then turned to the maps on my GPS and it showed a road going to it from where I was.
However, it turned out to be across fields. The gates were open and I was tempted, but a check of the GPS showed an alternate route. So after a long circuitous route, I ended up at GZ. Here, the cache was quickly found. The trip back was quicker and I was soon back on the bitumen and continuing my journey.
My thanks to djcache for the cache and a great detour and break in my journey.

South Coast January 2015. I spent a few sunny days exploring from Eden to Orbost and beyond. A very interesting part of the country. My first approach to this did not work, so I found some more bush tracks and worked my way round to this fantastic spot. Not much left here now. Thanks.

Never get logged out again! But when you container isn't in the place that it supposed to you probably will change all locks as soon as possible. This one was just fallen down and I found it after a while between a lot of rubbish.

A kangaroo jumped over the road just before arriving at ground zero area.
But that was not the thing that made me jump.
I was looking at the GPS a bit too much while walking to the ground zero.
I notice a long FAT thing about 4 meter a way.
I knew what it was straight away, my first thought was I the nearest tree it was going to run up.
I soon backed off and when to the car for the camera/phone.
Return to take some pictures and move the local away so i could find the cache
Please see the photos, he a big one.

Note don't enter from Wieria rd, got baled up by very angry farmer. Plz take rd further east of highway. Found it lovely area
An interesting historical area. Seemingly in the middle of nowhere, yet obviously once an important, bustling place. Thanks for bringing us here and for the cache.
Out for a day of geocaching with the family on a gorgeous Autumn day. This hasn't been found for a while and we are always interested in a bit of pioneer history so we had to give this one a go. Lovely spot, hard to imagine a school hall here. Sad that there is not any more information about this place.
Located cache which is in good condition.
Thanks djcache.

That was rather grosse you would think red knecks would be able to see it was no longer a toilet.
But what a great spot to bring people too. You would almost call it a hidden treasure if you are into that kind of stuff. Tftc

Found this one on Anzac Day, nice quiet spot, had a BBQ lunch , and enjoyed the serenity. Didn't know this was here. TFTF .
Found late in the afternoon and the cold air was getting colder. Had a good laugh at GZ. Cache found in a good spot safe and dry. Thanks dj for hiding one out here.

Yay - Found it late on a sunny but chilly Winter's afternoon.
A really pleasant area to visit - thanks djcache for placing a cache here. Enjoyed the drive in and the hunt for the cache. Shall try to return to make the most of this memorial area when it's not so cool.

Nice spot, thanks to geo twin for the heads up. Easy find but a bit off the main road track more all wheel drive than two wheel drive - need a bit of clearance. March flies in abundance so didn't stop to boil the billy this time.
7th find of the day, and 3325th total find at 14:54
Absolutely loved this one. It does look like this place is gradually being lost in the mists of time.
Took: Nothing
Left: Nothing

This was our first go at geocaching, we had a little trouble getting on the right road but once there found it easily.
I was in Orbost for work today.
It was a great warm & sunny winter’s day
This was my second cache of three I planned to do on the way back home
I was doing this cache on a loop as there was another cache (Monkey bussiness) out this way Found the cache after a bit of a think as my GPS was out a bit.
Cache is in excellent condition

Went the right way around, according to the map, but.... disaster struck! There i was in my trusty hatchback, that takes me lots of places - but this time overconfidence was a mistake. I bottomed out while driving over a fallen log, that looked manageable (or was I too focussed on being within 400 mts of the cache?)and I was stuck fast. Tried lots of strategies - jacking up, lots of acceleration and nothing happening and finally resorted to the RACV!! Thank goodness I had mob service. The lovely young man pulled me off the obstruction, we cleared the road together and off I went. Found the cache with geo-dog, who couldn't understand all the hanging around. Phew!
Had no idea that spot was there. No loo, but a picnic table.

Took a track along cleared farm land and the forest to GZ and located the cache and signed the log, following the same track back was stopped by the farmer who informed me that it was a farm access track and not a public thoroughfare. Apparently they have been having trouble with poachers and shooters, so would suggest not using this track. TFTC DJ
A **FTF** for greynomads
This is the first on our quest to do 3 FTF's today.
We made this one a bit more difficult than it really is, when we followed the directions of the Garmin Nuvi 500 and didn't look at a map. After a few wrong turns we eventually found the hide and understood the reference to ladies and gents, lol. We'd actually been to this spot a few months ago, and had considered putting in a cache but couldn't find much history on the community.
A lovely spot to visit. Our thanks DJ for bringing us back here. We gave the log a smaller ziplock bag, as the big one was getting caught
