Had a great time meeting some friends from yesteryear and many who I felt I knew via the wonderful world of Geocaching.

Hi to all event attendees. This note is to advise all of you that Team Robins have received the "surprise" that you all so kindly assisted in building.
For your info as most of you won't know what I did with the loot, I put it into a container and his it as a cache on the property... That was my last port of call before heading out on Sunday morning...
Here is the "Alert" that I sent to Team Robins tonight... Something I put together on a train ride, early Monday morning... [^]
Hi Team,
Got a torch handy? You might want to grab it. Oh, and crank up the GPS as you have some work to do. No need to worry though, you’re not getting in the car, just a walk around the garden...
Below is a poem that will give you some critical info. I need you to leap into action, follow the prompts and let me know how you go... Don’t get frost bite doing it though... I’ll be waiting for the “GOTCHA” email...
Here ya go and good luck...
It was Christmas in Stanthorpe, the weather was cold,
Many hunters had gathered with stories untold.
A raft of fine fare was offered the group,
With eggnog and cake and hearty warm soup.
Much banter ensued and greetings exchanged,
Some learned of “The Book” and the details retained.
Sprits were high despite the cold fingers,
An event all enjoyed with memories to linger.
To cut to the chase, this poem has purpose,
It’s to thank dear Team Robins for hosting the circus.
With three FTFs on offer to all,
There’s one more outstanding, for Team Robins’ haul.
Team, break out the Garmin, read instructions as said,
The event listed co-ords, your initial GZ.
Point six nine seven south, point eight three nine east,
In quote of Fangsoki, this will get you “The Beast”.
The contents are yours and not to be shared,
If we hear to the contrary, it’s off with your head.
It’s thanks for the bash to which we all sidled,
In our minds no doubt, hospitality unrivalled.
Thanks again Team. We all had a fantastic time...

Hi all
Both Chris and myself wish to thank everyone very much for what they did, hiding a cache for us. We did not expect it but was appreciated.
We were so pleased that everyone enjoyed themselves, there were 43 groups and in excess of 100 people attended. We placed 41 caches just for the event, and I believe that finds records were broken by just about all.
Next time we might have another event in warmer times.
Once again, many thanks from the bottom of hearts
Ian and Chris

A late log from the geckomaster team, as GM62snr (log writer) was whisked away to sydney for work. A huge thankyou to Ian & Chris. Dispite the chilly temps your warmth embraced everyone who attended. So nice to catch up and chat to fellow cachers. We are such a convivial lot!!!.Chris ,let me know when the next pot of pumpkin soup is on and I will be at your door. A special thankyou from my wife "Bettina"(a non cacher, not quiet a muggle , because she actually has found some with us). Bettina could not believe the fantastic effort Ian & Chris had gone to stage the event ,hiding all those caches, and once again your hospitality. Happy Caching!!!! Adam, Elliott & Bettina

Hi Team Robins, Thanks again for a wonderful evening and weekend. Just out of interest how many people signed your log book (Visitors book) How many do you think were at the event all up?? My finds in July this year are only 14 short of my TOTAL finds for 2010... Most of those were due to finds on your caches or others around the district.
Cheers Sue

Thanks Ian and Chris for another great 'chilly reception'. Like last year we had a fantastic time and enjoyed the wonderful hospitality. There were so many people it was hard to catch up with everyone. Enjoyed the soup and the eggnog certainly took the edge off the cold weather. Thank you for opening up your home to us all and for all the work put in to all the nearby caches.
We'll be back again to clean up the caches around Girraween and hopefully catch up again.

Oops, had a swag of coins that needed to visit with me... So, dipping them in for a virtual "Hi There"...
From us little people, Thanks Team Robins for a great event. It was lots of fun and we really enjoyed finding all the new caches.
See you next year.

Found at 4:16 AM I'm writing this while lying in bed the morning after the event. It's cold here in the motel, God knows what the temp. is outside and not going out to find out.
Had a great time last night. It has to be said you did a wonderful job putting this event on TR. It was nice to catch up with old friends and meet some new ones in such a lovely (if not a little cold) environment.
Well done to Team Robins and all those that helped out.
Cheers
Oh, I'll be back in a few weeks to do the fruit run

How did you order up the Xmas type weather for the event TR........thanks for all your work in organizing this event. It was great to be able to meet and put faces to a lot of names i had seen online over the short time we have been cahing.Cheers
Thanks Ian and Chris for another fantastic event. The spread you provided was absolutely scrumptious and I fear I may have overindulged (oink! oink!). It was also great to catch up with fellow cachers for a lot of laughs and reminiscences. The weather you turned on was also excellent. Beautiful clear skies and sunshine during the day and freezing temps overnight. We would have been disappointed if had been any other way. Thanks once again.
Thank you Chris and Ian for a great night. Also a big thankyou to your helpers that made the night run smoothly. An enormous effort. Great to see new and old faces. Thanks for making it a merry christmas.
Abig thank you to Chris and Ian for a very enjoyable few days. The Fruit run certainly presents a huge challenge for anyone else contemplating organising an event in the future. Putting faces to familiar and not so familiar caching names is great but swopping stories, all true, is always fun.
Thanks Team Robins for another beaut get together.

Made a last minute decision to head up to the event for the day - it was great to meet some new caching teams, catch up with old friends and hear the stories of camping in Girraween during the week. As usual, the hospitality of Team Robins was superb and we know that everyone had a great time. Thanks for hosting the event Chris and Ian.
Thanks for an awesome event. Many thanks from Mr & Mrs Searchwise015. I really enjoyed the cooool weather for the event it remindered Mrs Searchwise of Scotland. Thanks.

Met some new and old friends. Really enjoyed ourselves. Thanks for setting up the many caches and for hosting the evening.Well done Team Robins
Thank you Team Robins for another fantastic event! Your hospitality and generosity is amazing, and very much appreciated by all. Your egg nog was once again a favourite. And thanks for the great power trail! It certainly broke my record of the number of caches found in one day. I made it to 50! Look forward to catching up with you again when we're next in Stanthorpe.
Dropped by today after signing the letterbox log book. Unfortunately couldn't stay as we had to get home and Axionman isn't great meeting new people so wasn't comfy getting out of the car for this one - maybe next time! Thanks Team Robins for all of the great caches around the area, we still have a lot to get but will be back soon enough!
Myself and MY Geoson ans also Lcbails had a great time, it was great to put faces to names. Great job Team Robins
As EngPhil has already mentioned, we had a fantastic time catching up with those we know, and meeting some new faces My parents are in in OZ visiting from the US at the moment, and they had a good time too! COACHP had already been exposed to Geocaching, but it was all new to MrsCOACHP and I think she likes the idea!
MissGeosie made a few new friends, MissSuzie had a lovely sleep on her daddy's chest, and I got a chance to enjoy a bowl of soup while it was still warm! This is a novelty in my life!
Thanks again to Team Robins for organising yet another fantastically fun event - can't wait to come back and play some more!

Was so very happy that this event was held again this year after I passed last year. Decided to go the whole 9 yards and made a week holiday surrounding this event. We had stayed at Lake Leslie the night before and were en route to Girraween for 6 nights. Like most I assume I have smashed number records for myself out of the park and had a great time doing it. Saw many many amazing and beautiful things in the Granite Belt. This event was lots of great fun, catching up with friends and chatting to some new faces. The cold was no issue and we stayed for quite a while. I was famously erecting the tent in the backyard when 2shadows generously offered us a room for the night. Much warmer and more comfortable, but meant no eggnog for this P-plater Thanks so very much Ian and Chris for putting this on, and I hope it stays a regular event. TFTE.
I liked the puppy dog, I liked the sparkles, and I liked the food. I had fun with Xanthia and Kendra, my big girl friends. One was wearing pink. I showed Xanthia the goats and chickens. It was cold. We found some caches together, but not too many.
I also went to the castle. It had pictures of princesses. There were lots of pretty bottles, and I saw a puppy. Then we found more caches. There were great big puppy dogs at the cheese shop. There was a cat on the bookshelf at the lunch shop. We went there because we were hungry.
Thank you for all the food and all the fun. See you all again next time!

What a great weekend! ManicWombat and I cached our way to Stanthorpe and as a result we ran out of time to do the whole FR series. It was great to catch up with old friends, and terrific to meet many new ones. It is nice to put faces to names. Let me say Thank you to Ian and Christ and everyone else who helped put this fantastic event together. The food was terrific, the soup was very welcome due to the temperature drop. We had a great time, thanks again.
Bravo Team Robins. A bigger event than last years and you pulled it off without a hitch. Thanks for all you hard work and your hospitality, very much appreciated.
Lots of new faces and stories this year. I guess word got around how much of a great time we had at the last one. Not so many campers though... I wonder why...
The success of the event has been said throughout the logs, everybody had a great time. You guys are good at this stuff... [^]
Thanks for my personal accommodation and for letting St Agnes live in your bar temporarily. She felt privileged to be there...
I can't thank you enough for the weekend, I had a ball. Cheers Team...

#513.
Last year's Christmas in July event was our first event cache. We've done a few since then. This one was possibly the biggest yet (up there with the Queens Land 10 Year event.) Evidently the word has spread that a Team Robins event is one not to be missed!
It was great to see a heap of familiar faces and meet a few new ones as well. And of course it's always a pleasure to catch up with Team Robins, who certainly know how to put on an excellent event! The food was good and plentiful, the company was delightful, and the fires were warm and cozy.
Palopinto, MissGeosie and I were joined this year by our newest arrival Snoozie Suzie (who spent much of the afternoon snuggled up cozy and sleepy on my chest) and Palopinto's parents who travelled all the way from the USA but were disqualified from the "furthest travelled" prize on the technicality of being muggles (despite one of them having a nano FTF amongst his "finds".)
MissGeosie was particularly delighted to have the company of one of the Little Fuddleys, and proceeded to give her the deluxe tour of the Robins' property. (Thank you so much for looking after our little one. You've made quite an impression! [^])
Special thanks must go to our hosts for not only putting on another great event, but also for all the new caches in town! We cleaned Stanthorpe out in a day and a half last year; we had twice as long this time around and still couldn't quite keep up! [^] Thanks to the Fruit Run, my record for caches-in-a-day went from 14 to 50! Well done, Team Robins, thanks once again for all your hard work and hospitality! [^]

Well The second time was better than the 1st.....
Congratulations on a very enjoyable & successful event Team Robins [^]
Enjoyed last years and this exceeded that on all fronts...
The increased numbers reflects how much people enjoy the events you put together...
Good Food, Great Company, Pleasant Surroundings......
warm Fires to counteract the cold... everything anyone could wish for...
Thanks again for organising the this very enjoyable event, and also your efforts in ensuring there where plenty of finds for all to achieve...(including 3 caches up for FTF during the event)
A Job well Done... [^]

What a great bunch of people. Had a great night. Amassive thankyou to team Robbins for making us feel so welcome and putting on an amazing event. Thanks for all of the caches too. Must have taken an age to place them all. My finds went through the roof. Look forward to next year should you have it again.
WOW!!! what an awesome event [^]
Chris & Ian . . . CONGRATULATIONS to the both of you for putting on such a wonderful Christmas . . . Complete with the below zero temperatures It was great to finally put faces to some of the names you see continually popping up in logs. The Christmas presents were great fun to find [:O)] and the food was fabulous & plentiful.
Thank you for your wonderful hospitality, and opening your home & hearts to us all. [:x]

Chris and Ian put on another great event for the hoards of cachers. Plenty of food and friendly smiles. I couldn't stay long so I didn't catch up with all that attended. Next time you can turn the temperature up a bit though. By my count this is No 2500 for me.
A great night, good company and well presented. Many thanks to team Robbins for hosting this great occassion and placing sooooo many caches to keep us all very busy. Thanks for a great weekend.
We were in the area in April this year and ran into Team Robins. We were told about the event and were very getting very excited as the event grew closer. We had heard how great the previous event was and the number of people going to this event just kept getting bigger. Well it was now time to head off to the event and we were off for our weekend adventure We found lots of cache's and enjoyed many different adventures from two cache's at the same co-ords, twenty odd tractors in a row sitting in a paddock too cache's hidden in beautiful patches of bush We thoroughly enjoyed the caching in the area, mostly thanks to Team Robins and a few other teams who have caches in the area
We rolled up to say hello Friday arvo and got a sneak peak at what was planned for the Saturday night. There was lots of goodies planned and only one nights sleep. Off we went home, then out for another day of caching We rolled up to the event and were met with a heap of cars and a lot more people than we expected. The event went great and we were spoilt with some great soup and a fun FTF prize draw
Thanks for everyone's company at the event and thank you Ian and Chris for all of the new cache's, the huge effort that you put into the event and thank you for opening your home to the geocaching community
We had a great time at the event and it was great to catch up with everyone
Thank you once again Chris and Ian

It was great to be back again this year for the event. The attendance numbers had increased from last year, and once again it was a fantastically organised event. Many thanks to Ian and Chris for your very warm hospitality, for the organisation you (and everyone else involved) put into it.
It was great to meet many new cachers from far and wide.
We look forward to coming to any future events put on down here.

We had a great time and all the Geo-Coins. Wow.
Thank You Chris and Ian for the Event. Great Job.

A wonderful event held and attended by wonderful people. Unfortunately our geobub was a little overtired and overwhelmed by it all and we had to take him home before the wailing drove everyone nuts. Still very glad we came though and will be back for the next Team Robins event. TFTE
Great turnout today. Great to put faces to names. Starting to get a bit chilly now though.
Thanks Ian and Chris for a great event.
Thanks Ian and Chris for a great event.
What a fantastic weekend, love caching, love Team Robins, love Stanthorpe (A little bit cold), how can it be anything but great.
Thanks for the event Team Robins
Thanks for the event Team Robins
What a day (and evening). Most caches I've ever done in one day. Can't beat Qld country hospitality - I was met with hugs and dispatched with hugs. Wonderful company - such charming intelligent people, all geocachers of course - and fun and games. Aussie Liahona had me on the hop, in and out of the car, and I found my share of the little containers. Oh if every weekend could be like this. Good to see old friends, like Miss Geosie and her new little sister, Susie. Adorable. Special hello to Crystal and Rose. I want a cat like that. Love and hugs to Team Robins and thanks to all for a memorable day.
This was a wonderful event to attend. Met some new and old friends. We really enjoyed ourselves. Thanks Team Robins, for setting up the many caches and for hosting a memorable evening. BRAVO!
A very first Event for the 2 Shadows. Enjoyed the new geocachers that we met and learned a lot more about geocaching. A huge thanks to Team Robins for organising the event. Will see you there next year.
I wrote an attended log on my phone and sent it in before WaldenClan and Fergs but when I checked this morning I had not yet attended this brilliant function. Great company great to meet new teams and catch up with friends both regular and ones from the past. Great steak (Thanks Mr Griffo) and yummy plum pudding... What more can I say than even though it was super cold it was an all round wonderful event. I will be putting it on the calendar for next year.
Also the start of my first power trail and first lot of night caching. Thanks WaldenClan for letting me tag along tonight and Team Robins for creating the Fruit Run Trail.
Also thanks to Bristracker for my tag. What an interesting photo that was!!!
Congrats TR on a wonderful event.

Thanks Team Robins for holding such a wonderful event ...... I had a really good time, placing faces to names, and catching up with those whom I had already met.
You really put in a lot of effort in holding this event, and making everyone feel welcome. I'm sure there are lots of people with a lot more caches to their name because of all the effort you put into placing all the extra caches prior to the event. I have never found so many in one day before, and I barely made a dint in the total number that are there, due to lack of time. I will be back up that way sometime to find the rest ......
Once again, Thankyou very much from an old hag ...[^]...

Golly gosh, what a great time we had, as I am sure did everyone. We have attended dinner events before but they are nothing like this was. We met so many people and saw collections of coins that blew my mind. A HUGE thankyou to TR for their hospitality and allowing us to park the motorhome in their backyard, and a HUGE thankyou to everyone who helped to put the the wonderful food on the table for us to enjoy. Once again thankyou.
Thanks for all your efforts, 'Team Robins'. It was a great afternoon/evening and many a war story was told. Soup and egg nog seemed very popular and you can be proud of your town's "cold" status. Both Mrs Lat&Long and I decided we were colder in Stanthorpe, that we were in Antarcticta last January ... but really, it was fun event .
Well, Ian and Chris, what can I say? You have done it again!!! Another great event and we thank you sincerely for you effort and hospitality. Early 2010 I had a word to Mr Gunnie. Being born in Stanthorpe I amways enjoy going for a visit so I suggested a Christmas in July get together... We were a much smaller group then....well the rest is history but I never imagined that it would become so huge. It was great to see familiar faces and meet new people, have a chat and compare notes. A big thank you to those who helped Chris and Ian out. Only thing I am disaapointed about is that I left my camera back at the cabin! Sorry. Thanks again, Team Robins! JOB WELL DONE. I hope you have enjoyed a Sunday relax.
What a great weekend! MightyMouse09 and I cached our way to Stanthorpe and as a result we ran out of time to do the whole FR series (theres always tomorrow). We just happened to end up a stones throw from the event at the appointed time so off we went. It was great to catch up with old friends, and terrific to meet many new ones. It's always good to be able to put faces to names I've seen in logbooks and online. I'd like to say a huge thankyou to Ian and Chris and everyone else who helped put this event together. The food was terrific, the soup was very welcome as the temperature dropped. Good food, good company, and lots of geocaching stories (some of which may even be true!). We had a ball, thanks again
Thanks Team Robins for a great event. Stairman1 and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting everyone from near and far. We also enjoyed the fruit run. Thanks for the effort put into this great event.
This was our first Geocaching event. A big thank you to Team Robins for all you did. It was great to put faces to names and enjoy a little trip away to crisp Stanthorpe with Tavurvur.
How cold can it get around here? Tonight we found out. Wow what an event. A huge turnout, wonderful hosts, some FTF's and great food and conversation. It was lovely to catch up with old friends and meet some new cachers. Team Robins have outdone themselves. We appreciate all the hard work you have put not only into this event but to all the great caches around the area. By about 7pm we were too cold and tired (over 50 caches today - a record that may stand forever for us} to continue so back to our cabin and a log fire to thaw. Thanks again.

Christmas in July 2011. We came, we had fun, we ate, we cached, we met new faces and renewed friendships with old acquaintances, we laughed and generally had a REALLY good weekend. There is no way to adequately thank Team Robins, Ian and Chris, and their helpers, for all that we enjoyed: the atmosphere, the decorations, the delicious food, the company, the Fruit Run, the FTF draw, the bonus geocaches, the hospitality, the friendship, the welcome, the sad farewell. Thank you, thank you, and thank you. We will certainly want to come again. It certainly was a Merry Christmas!!
What a turn out! After the festivities last year, we couldn't miss out on this one and a visit to Girraween was in order. So yes, we camped for a week, in a tent, at Girraween, in subzero temperatures. We had a great time and would definitely do it again. Arrived at the event ready for the ftf draw and some fun times. We didn't get the ftf draw but there were certainly fun times. Good to catch up with so many cachers, both old acquaintances and new. Another fantastic organisational effort by Team Robins and thanks Chris and Ian and their elves for your wonderful cooking! (sorry I thought there was an announcement at the beginning of the night saying Fay had spent all day cooking...) The soup and pudding in particular stand out. A great event that we are so happy to have been a part of. Thanks so much for all your work, both with the event and all the new caches Team Robins.

Thank you very much Team Robins for organising this event. It was great to catch up with fellow cachers and will probably see you again next year.
Another absolutely awesome Event put on by Team Robins. Lokipagan and I had made a bit of a week of it and been cruising around the area doing caches before the Event.
It was so good to see so many familiar faces.. and so many new ones too. It was great to put faces to names. I did not see anyone that was not enjoying themselves.
Many thanks for your warm hospitality yet again, Team Robins - and your fine caches I have had the pleasure of doing over the past few days. TFT.... Event

Dropping in a couple of TB's for tomorrow Looking forward to putting faces to names . . .
Late notice but Bryce (Gib96) and I will be down Saturday for some intensive Geocaching action. May only be a day trip though. See you all there
NOTE 2, sorry everyone I have to cancel. I'm recovering from a upper respiratory tract infection and it's simply too cold for me to be outside Have a great time.

The INCREDIBLE 5 will attend the event this afternoon. Thanks for the invite.
Really sorry we can't be there to catch up with Ian, Chris and all. We really enjoyed last year and we're sure the event will be just as much fun tomorrow.
Might have to call in sometime soon though to tackle that awesome looking power trail.
Have a great weekend everyone.

Unfortunately I cannot have the time off work so Muddtrax will be going without me
Sorry Ian & Chris.
Sorry Ian & Chris.
Hi Team Robins, we are attending and are really looking forward to this event. We will be staying in town where it's warmer!!!
It now looks like The Fuddleys will be able to make it. We will be driving down on Saturday and staying in town, probably won't get much time for caching, but then I will be back in a couple of weeks time to do all the new caches.
See ya all in the weekend
See ya all in the weekend
Wish I could attend but too much else happening! Just saw the weather report for the weekend, keep your brass monkeys at home folks Despite the cold I'm sure everyone will have a great time.
We made it back from the U.S. after a serious car accident - (NOT our fault). Youngest daughter has given birth, last week, to a darling little boy. Geohubby's REDS team are in the Grand Final, but he is assuring me he wants to come to the event. So looks like we are clear for the weekend and we'll be up with the caravan and staying on site if there's room. Bringing extra blankets and hot water bottles. Thanks Team Robins.
Just confirming we will be there.
2 adults and 2 children, staying in town. Weather report sounds a bit cool for camping

Just realised I have not confirmed my attendance. I will be there but staying in town. Going to buy some warm clothes tomorrow. Doesn't get that cold here...... looking forward to the weekend.

Warramoos is coming. Our first geocaching event. We will be staying in Stanthorpe to keep our little girl warm. There are 3 in the Warramoos team now! Looking forward to putting some faces to names we see so often.
I will be attending with my family [the Warramoos]. I too look forward to the event. I notice that the first two Geocachers to find my Wild & Wonderful West Cache are attending so I look forward to catching up. Tavurvur.
We have heard a lot about Team Robins and their events, would love to attend Christmas in July 2011 however we are still travelling north of Brisbane, not good timing for us All the best for the success and enjoyment meeting all cachers. We will be going to Stanthorpe next month.
Finally organised my schedule. Room booked in town.
Carolyn and myself will be there.
Carolyn and myself will be there.
Finally got everyone to let me know what was happening, so I can now advise you that I will be attending along with Amelia and Co., consisting of Amelia, Geomummy, and Geopoppy.
Total of 3 adults (speaking age wise lol) and one geobaby.
We have booked our accommodation up the road.

Mr Co will be dragging his old bag of sausages along (I think they're the same ones Findalot found several years ago). He may not get there in time to join the FTF draw though and he won't be staying overnight (so all your other guests can give a sigh of relief).
Unfortunately I'll be in Sydney for work, so I wont be able to make it.
I'll probably take another drive up to The Summit a few weeks after to tackle the fruit run.

"It has been known to get cold" - is that the understatement of the milennium?
I'll be there, most likely with Aussie Liahona. I've got a room in town. Thanks for organising this one again, I missed it last year and heard about it later.

Stairman1 and I will be there with geodog. It is geodog's birthday on the Saturday. We will be staying onsite. No accommodation available in town.

Will attend along with Chickcj and her son. Relatively new to the cacheing community so am looking forward to meeting everyone. Have booked a room in town.
Update from Gunnie. I will be there, flying solo. The plans for an early arrival have been curtailed by starting a new job on the Monday before the event. Not likely to get a Friday off work after day four in the job...
So, I will pack the Gunniemobile and head down Friday afternoon, to make the most of the weekend.
See you all at Christmas... I see Team Robins have already put the presents out...

Griffo will still be attending x 2, however now have accommodation in town ( a bit warmer) rather than a camper trailer at the event.
Looking forward to it.
Looking forward to it.
Why would you go to Stanthorpe in July most people ask, but after experiencing the hospitality and fun of last year's event we wouldn't miss it.
Will be attending with NyletaM and the bubs. It will be great to see you all again!
