After walking from the geo-vehicle, it took a while to find the cache (sort of by accident). Saw a lot of goats on the other side of the fence. Thanks Team707.
Camping on some nearby property, took the MTB for a spin up along this trail to grab a couple caches. This one was one that was found today.
Find #4550 on 2 Oct 2022.

Travelling through some dirt back roads to pick up a few caches. A little chilly but the sun is shining so perfect geocaching weather.
I parked on Tower road and then headed off on foot.
This was a difficult one. I searched for a good 20 mins and then decided to move in to the next. I found big Fat Piles and then returned back here for a second look.
I used Hurltle’s coordinates which had me searching a little lower down the hill and I eventually came up with the cache.
Thanks for the cache Team707 and Omocyunn.

Well the cache title says it all really, we rode down the hill to this one, we both started searching too high in the tree that would conceal a good hide but nope, back down Davidwazza went where he found the cache nicely tucked away
Today I met up with Davidwazza at Mt Crawford to complete some caches that required a bike, we particularly focused on the area around the Big fat series. After having lunch I was spent and decided to head home and find a few caches along my way. All up 30 finds for the day.
Thanks for the cache

Today, gridge98 and I headed east to Mount Crawford with our bikes. I had a few targets that I had wanted to get to today, but as always, I had more targets and less time to do all of them. Our first cluster of caches was aimed at *SFE Challenge - Milestone 10,000 finds* with the *Big Fat* geocaches nearby as a loop. That was some solid riding up/down the hills, and a few geocaches were time consuming due to their hide types. After a quick Williamstown bakery lunch, we returned to another section in Mount Crawford, and concentrated on the Rocky Paddock campground area with a number of *Animal Facts* geocaches found. Gridge98 departed home, but I had another couple of rides up Tower Hill Track, and also around Rocky Paddock along Gordon Road. I completed the day with a short walk up Mount Crawford boardwalk, and a few miscellaneous finds on my return home. It was a brisk day with cold winds and a few intermittent drizzles, but otherwise not a bad day to be on the bike.
This was another difficult search, and made harder with the weeds and growth around the place. In the end, it took 10 minutes to find, and with all of the past logs indicating a bush, yep, as it turned out, it was in that bush. Lots of possible hiding spots here, with a few that we believed were much better than its current position. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Team707 and Omocyunn for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. It was also nice to have found this cache with 628 days [20.6 months / 1.72 years] of unfound love since its last find on 7/01/2019.

Figured I need some more practice at this caching game,
so went for a walk in a big fat forest !
Interesting bunch of caches down here.
Eventually found a cache under a big fat bush
Ended up walking out in the dark, the wildlife is pretty active then too!

The gate was open here so this was a drive-by for me! Still took a bit of searching to find it though...

The clever étal found this while I was slipping up the hill. Sounds of gunshot unnerved us a bit. TFTC and the series. Cheers
Decided on an arvo trekkin some of the the Big fat series today. Sent the kid up for the quick find.TFTC
Bit of a zigzag approach to get to this cache after wandering over to look at the block of native vegetation on the hill. Lots of little birds getting around today and kookaburras laughing in the distance. Scared the nearby cows who got nervous with strangers in their corner of the forest. This was definitely a very big fat and prickly bush. Cache found quickly and no bees around today. Tftc
Found whilst out on a geocaching walk with the family. Kids took koala keyring and left glow in dark star and crocodile toy. TFTC
Found before I had my own Geo account. Found with Csaba! (Dad) while staying at the old school house. Tra La Laaaa
As this cache has stymied many intrepid cachers, and there is a nearby bee-hive, I've made this one slightly more obvious. There is now a larger cache container, and it is under a pile of quite obvious rocks.
First stop for the day and no joy for me
The area is beginning to look like a herd of wild buffalo passed through I presume as cachers turn over every small rock within 10m of GZ!
Next visit perhaps

Quick find with the kids after work. Caution, Bees are in the tree up the hill making sweet sweet honey.

Still leisurely touring South Australia after the Mega
After a late night enjoying our campfire at our camp at Mt Crawford Mr Felix decided he wanted to don his boots and go hiking today to tackle some caches along the high points of the Heysen trail!
Mrs Felix obliged by being the 'duty' driver for the days exercise.
During this late afternoon walk Mr Felix saw several large kangaroos, and a very healthy fox, and crossed 4 creek crossings on a great afternoon trek through the mud after the recent rains.

Headed out with earthlight and the x trailers to get some of these of the to do list, was a fantastic walk through here with some awesome scenic vantage spots, the weather is great today so this made our lives a bit easier, would be tricky on a hot day, didn't really see much wildlife except for 1 big male roo, we will be back to finish of the ones we missed today. TFTC
This cache should have been called (slipping and sliding )
3LG and Earthlight were with us today and trying to locate this cache had us definitely slipping and sliding over the terrain
GPS certainly was not working for us in the area today at all ,curses
8 metres was as close as we could get with gps to what ended up being the caches hide
At first we searched higher but DNF then earthlight called out "Try going around there a couple of times"
Treading carefully as I went I spied the cache on the second time around
We all signed the log then I replaced the cache which decided to go slipping and sliding also
Retrieved and returned safely to its hide
Boy am I glad we can tick this one of the list in the BIG series of caches

Bee hive very close to suspected "Big Fat Bush". As a DNF I can't be 100% sure but I don't think I was too far of GZ.
Had a good look for this one, " the bush" is over grown with weeds and a bee hive very close by so take care if you are looking for this one. My only DNF for the day.
Searched for quite a while, in fact longer than I should have. Couldn't find this one
I was on a bit of a tight schedule on this walk, and with loads of caches on my route I told myself I'd only allow 5 minutes searching per cache. Looked under loads of rocks, and there were still more to investigate, but I just had to get on my way!
Not to hard to find the bush, stood out like a Triffid in a Salt Lake, not so the container which took a few beats around the bush before it appeared. Did get the Kookaburas laughing when I slid down the slope though. TNLNSL
Thanks for the cache found with Geo Companion.

Took the time today to do the other half of the "Big Fats". Visited with geoschnauzer in tow. TFTC
All I can say here is that the GPS will get you close, but you still have to search pretty good to find these little caches hidden out here in the sticks, thank goodness SA4agers can sniff these things out.

Have to agree with Rustic Relics, the GPS was a little eratic up here! With the help of the clue and reviewing a few previous logs we located the hidey hole. So many potential hiding places adds to the challenge! TFTC Team707!
Found at 11:42 by Olga. Previous log about the bees had us looking there, but found it by the more obvious bush.
Found with this one we were looking in the wrong area, almost about to say DNF when alas I turn around and what do I spy......theres the cache but beware the bees!!!!!!! TFTC (I think we walked past three getting to this one. A mighty fine reason to return
After a brief climb we had this one in hand with a new logbook to boot. Signed log and headed back up the hill.
We liked the cache as it was, but have had comments about micros for our own caches in the bush.
We think if you dont like micros in "the bush setting dont do them" So we give this a fav for the old cache.

Geo wife took a tumble on the well made track, yet kept firm footing for the last 2 hours going up hill and down dale, guess thats the joy in geocaching. Do I speak to soon, eyes spied the bush from afar, easy but yes the cache is around the back and up a slippery slope, still easy untill I stick my head in a web, get covered in bugs and start to slide down. Log still damp but usable. Was it worth the pain, Its a find so of course its worth it. LOL.
Visited today and further to various comments about damp log book and complaints about micros in the bush, I put out a larger container and a new logbook. Hope this will keep people happy.
I found the cache this time. Similar to my previous experience here GPSr was wandering all over the place today. The GPSr showed GZ being 11m away when I was standing on top of the cache!!! And it doesn't make it any easier when you are looking for a micro in the bush!
BTW I hadn't planned on revisiting this cache but when the GPSr pointed me up this road I remembered that I had another unfound cache further on.
Thanks for the cache and series Team707 and Omocyunn.

Fifth find of the BF series...
I notice the tally of finds for this series is slowly reducing proportionally to the distance from the start. Some graph could be made from this.
Finding this one proved easier than previous logger's experiences. Unfortunately the torrential ran last mentioned had got into the container and turned the log into a soggy mess. As I knew I had to return passed here anyway on my way back, I left the log stretched out in the sun to dry. On return, it was OK, but all the ink from the logs had faded. All good for next time, hopefully.

[blue]15:00 Headed from Beaver towards Bush[/blue]
Went a bit cross country for this one I should have headed down to the trail. Came out by my GZ to discover a Bee hive.
Not a great place for me to be searching but there was a nearby bush.
Spent a lot of time looking and just couldn't work out why I couldn't find a cache in the bush.
Unfortunately I only had waypoints with me (Don't ask stupid operator error before leaving home) an no reception on my phone to check out the listing.
Gave up and headed off.

[blue]17:48 Headed from Valley towards Bush[/blue]
Climed over the stile, crossed the creek and headed towards Tower Road.
It was really getting black now and some lightning was lighting up the sky.
18:12 rain hits and it came down by the bucket loads. There was a river running down the track and my boots were full of water.
Made it back to this cache and the rain had stopped.
I got it this time I and I signed it as best I could as it was very wet.

18:42 Stopped for a rest when I got to Tower road.
18:50 Set off back to the car along the road.
19:13 Back at car and dragged the towel out the rucksack and dried off.
My that was some storm.

Out doing a few caches by bike this morning....weather was nice, but should have brought a bike with gears! Single speeding on some of these hills was tough!

Last one of the series we found today...ran out of baby time/patience. Great series though- we'll be back to finish them off soon! Cheers & TFTC!
GPSr had me 15m further up the hill so spent some time searching for this one. Eventually read a few other logs that all said much the same. There was a big fat bush close to the creek that I thought I would try as a last resort. I was thinking about what if this is the only DNF for me. A long way to come back for 1 cache. Almost about to give up when I kicked a rock in frustration and bingo..
This was the one that had me stumped and I spent ages scrabbling around on a slippery hillside turning over every rock within cooee. Nobody before had mentioned bees, so I skirted around the rocks in the vicinity of their hive.
I finally gave up and used the ‘phone-a-friend’ option. The cache was found some 12 metres from where my GPS said it was. I tried to take another reading, but after letting it ‘average’ for about 10 minutes, it still wouldn’t give me an accurate fix on the position of the cache. Given the difficulties of satellite geometry and visible sky in this area, perhaps the answer is not to hide micros under rocks out here?

This was the hardest on of the series for us to find. The GPS had us going all over the place, and up to unnecesary heights! Mr matmob used his geocaching eyes to find it while Mrs was way up the hill!
Unfortunately ended up doing steep downhill approach but survived for a nice quick find. Have been following in CPwanderer's footsteps (with Arthur a fortnight later) and have taken his 'Roo pathtag, feel it would like a few days down by the sea after its stay in the hills. Will take it down that way as soon as possible.
Last for the day, am looking forward to coming back to finish this great series.
