I'm assuming the hint is referring to the arms of the cabbage tree? Which has probably looked better... It may still be there, but to wet to go rummaging around looking for it.... Cheers
We are camped at the golf course for a motorhome GC holiday. Today we packed a picnic and went for a trip to find the local GC's. Glad to have a nice day, but cold wind after all the rain. Great title and thanks for the cache Bitsprayer.
Thanks bitsprayer for the cache. Love the name. Quick find today as Hal2929 head north for some of the mid Canterbury puzzles. And I can visit the grandchildren.
Found with StreetWalkerNZ en route from Christchurch to Dunedin.
Another cache we have driven past many a time, but the relatively quiet traffic today meant we were easily able to stop and have a look.
It was easy to work out who had the hairy arms . As I was the driver, I stayed in the car while SW did the honours. Easy find, phew, after failing to find the previous cache we looked for. TFTC.

#20586. We polished off most of the unfound caches on this stretch of SH1 on our trip south. Quick P+G here. TFTC.
I was out and about around Waimate and Timaru looking for some PWGT caches along with the new Solar System Wonders of the World.
This was one with a Solar System Wonder.
Cheers for the cache.

Today I was out and about on a very specific caching mission. My objective for the day was to accumulate enough missing 'minutes' qualify for the South Island 300 Minutes Latitude Challenge - GC8RQ1G. I started collecting missing minutes at S 44 03 and ended up down at S 45 15. My arms were up to this challenge. TFTC, Biggles.
Not sure I would say hairy arms out loud to many people but for sure this cache does - quick find on journey homeward.
After attending the Oamaru Geofeast we are now heading back to Christcurch. Caching with Di Morgan and grabbing a few caches along the way.
Thanks Bitsprayer for placing the cache for us to find.

I was down in Otago for the long weekend to attend the Oamaru Geofest. After flying from Auckland to Dunedin this morning, driving up to Oamaru, then registering for the event, I then headed North to find a few caches. I stopped for this cache on the way back down to Oamaru. This was a quick find at GZ. TFTC!
Day 2 of the Geo Fest Oamaru, travelling with UncleSamNZ, KeyLev, and NZTravellers signing in as SEAC17 to save logbook space, collecting caches with good favorite points along the way.....
Thanks to all the CO's for placing and maintaining their caches.

In Oamaru for the 2017 Geofest Our second day and a drive through to Omarama was planed and a lot of caches on the way. As it was the Geofest we bumped into fellow geocachers as well as a few muggles along the way. We were travelling with Keylev, UncleSam, Stik-a-Crane so to save log paper signed as Team SEAC 17.
Thanks to all the COs for the caches along the route.

Headed out for a Mad Mission with Team_Gaters and 8ManAfter we signed our logs today 'T8T' cos were dynatmite! I grabbed 8Man at 5.30 am and we grabbed TG just before 6am and we were on the road before 6am with the bikes on the back. The plan was to drive to Oamaru and then attend the events and thrash the caches hard. We wanted to do as much of the A2O as we could and as many PnGs that we could manage. We stopped by the event first and then we had to stop an grab breakfast at 10am. We grabbed some lunch and headed for the hills. Had a great time and worked our way back to town for the CITO at 6pm. Scored a delicous dinner in town and headed home. Got home just after 12am knocking out 620km and 115 caches. Good times!
It was a quick find and a quick stop.
Cache 13 of 115 for this crazy day!
Thanks for the cache Bitsprayer.

In the area for the geofest. Had planned to head to Omarama today. There were sooooo many caches we knew we were not going to be able to stop for them all so ran a filter on the pocket query for high favourite points (or solved puzzles) and targeted those...we were not disappointed!
This one didn't quite meet our pre-set criteria but we just had to stop anyway....we were never going to get to Omarama at this rate....
Thanks for the cache.
Signed as SEAC 17 (South East Auckland Crew)

In Oamaru for the Geofest.
Day #1 out and about with Gadget169 and sirbennis.
Nice quick find but the cars and a BIG truck zooming past quite closely did make the hairs on the arms stand on end! TFTC

What an adventure we had today! TheWanglers, Team_Gaters, and I headed out at dawn from Christchurch with four goals in mind: 1) Find Many Caches, 2) Get TG to 7,000 finds, 3) get me to 3,000 finds, and 4) Have Fun! Needless to say, all were accomplished in spades. It was only my second 100+ day ever, and had us driving, walking, running, biking, and even crawling to make the finds. We were also able to find at least 6 different cache types, and attend two events, in order to catch up with old friends. Thanks to all the hiders, but most of all, thanks to my partners in crime! We signed all logs as "T8T", sung to the tune of AC/DC "TNT".

Apt cache description. Stretch for us shorties!! TFTC. Found with Geomum007 and Geo jessie.
Again with a couple of other caches today this one was a cache I'd bypassed because of the busy road. But with three of us today we decided to go get it. Easy find. TFTC.
Greetings from an Auckland Cacher. Here with some of my crew for the “Almost Mega” event.

Mega trip to NZ with vipema, Veke68 and Katsukka, logged as TVVKFIN. Today our target was Dunedin, lots of kilometers and lots of fun! Hairy arms indeed.. Thanks for the cache.
Long time dream came true and we could visit New Zealand. NZ Mega was our maingoal and we had time to find others too. We travelled together with Veke68, Katsukka and tanjuli (+husband) and had great time. We used TVVK Fin (that is tanjuli, vipema, Veke68 and Katsukka) in mostly logbooks to save space.
Thanks for the cache.
Greetings from Finland.

Greetings from Finland.
Day #6 geocaching in NZ in good company (=tanjuli + husband, vipema, Veke68 & Katsukka = TVVK-FIN in the logbooks, most of the time), today we headed to Dunedin and back to Christchurch again. Had a great time, enjoyed the mostly sunny day and found a lot of caches + saw so many interesting/beautiful places.
Thank you!!!!
Thank you!!!!
Caching holiday in New Zealand with Tanjuli, Vipema and Katsukka continues and today nice trip from Christchurch to Dunedin and back. Lot of kilometers but many nice caches and of course couple of very old caches too.
We logged mostly only TVVK-FIN to save space in the logbook.
Thanks!!

This was the start of a MEGA caching weekend in the company of good caching friends. In the company of both HKCB & 11HPG11 this was going to be another memorable caching road trip for many reasons.
This is the mission that we had set ourselves up for several months back. It was HKCB's idea, I was just dumb enough to think it was a challenge and I'd be up for it, 11HPG11 was silly enough to come along for the ride once we confirmed a spare seat (Nova Lightening pulled out for family reasons).
We were going to try to beat the NZ one day record in New Zealand (it would have been easier with 4 people), so after 2.5hrs sleep after a good feed at Omarama we were ready to go. This was the number two hundred and thirty sixth on what was to be an epic day with what amounted to 401 caches collected for the day and about 38 DNF's. We managed this with 10minutes to spare but by this time we were done for and still had to drive back to Kaiapoi. All in all an epic days caching with good friends and something I don't think any of us will repeat in a hurry.
All in all it was going to be a big day with a number of challenges, great scenery, and of course great company. Fantastic driving along and up here as the landscape was so different from what we are used to back in the Waikato. One good thing about backroads being that we could continue our neferious activites without being disturbed by muggles.
Nice quick find here without any issues .
thanks for the placement , thanks for the cache

Headed down south with C&D and 11HPG11 for the CHCH Mega as part of the HOAC team, and decided that a Mega road trip/Mega Mission was the right thing to do. After a great day caching from Dunedin to Omarama we manged to get a few hours sleep before the big day 2 started.
Day 2 was the start of a ambitious plan to try and find as many caches as possible in one day! To maximise our chances of a big number we decided a 24 hour caching day was the only way to go. What an epic day, and some great moments too. The rough idea was to cache from Omarama to Oamaru, and then head north towards Christchurch. A huge thanks to everyone for the cache placments, and I apologise for the copy and past logs.
Find #234 for the day.

What a Mega Mission for a group of Hamilton Over Achievers! A great trip, a long time in the planning. I teamed up with Cats&Dragons and HKCB to grab a couple of caches while in Christchurch and surrounding areas for the 2015 Mega Event. We flew out from Auckland on Friday night and traveled to Dunedin in the dark of the night. Stopped for a few hours sleep before setting off to grab caches in the Otago area on Saturday before attempting a few more on Sunday and then arriving at the Mega on the Monday. An amazing, yet crazy road trip
When C&D mentioned a day with over 400 caches I should have turned and ran... instead I said yes, and here we are. 401 caches in 23 hours and 50 minutes. All done on about 2.5hr of sleep. It was hard work with only 3 of us and there were times that were hard and tiring but I still had a blast! An amazing experience that one has to be slightly crazy to even consider
Loved looking around here. Thanks for placing the caches to show us around.

I had some unfinished business here, as the last time I aimed to stop, my plans were interrupted by road works... Space just sufficient to pull off the road and jump out of the car between traffic. Nice quick find of the cache, TFTC!!

Making great progress today. Tftc

Spent the day geocaching on the drive from Christchurch to Dunedin. Resulted in 156 finds. Quick find. Signed log. TFTC!
We are staying at Rakaia Gorge this week, and we decided to spend a day travelling south so we could complete 2 Auckland challenge caches. For the 'So Far Away Challenge' we needed to find 10 caches that are 1000km or more from home. And for our Full Geocaching Licence we needed to find 50 caches in a day that are at least 1km apart. We have also been wanting to visit Moeraki Boulders (which also happens to be 1001 kms from home), so we had to time our trip around the tides. The 8.30am low tide meant we had to leave very early to travel 220kms from Rakaia Gorge to Moeraki , then find at least 10 caches further south before caching our way back north.
We had a very enjoyable day exploring further south than we have travelled before, clocking up close to 500kms, finding 69 caches along the way, and achieving both the challenge cache goals we had set.
We liked the name of this cache! Found the cache in the Hairy Arms.
Thanks for your part in helping make our day so much fun.
