Another trail run, another cache! Thanks for placing this one!!

16-Mar-23
Out for an afternoons caching on the link trail.
I left the bike at the top and made the short walk to gz. The tree must have grown since placement. The hide was at least two metres above my feet.

Cool find on a nice little side track. Cache in good condition. Dry inside. Not found often.

3 years since the last find... Logbook even said 2018... Beautiful walk and a nice climb. The cache is still in perfect condition! Tftc!

A quick find thanks to the hint. Cache still ok. TFTC stayonmytail.

Jo finished work at 5 tonight so I asked her if she wanted to get a few caches down QC drive. Nice night for a trip, we targeted the 5 near Ngakuta Bay. No issues with any in the end, thanks all COs.

Phew, what a climb up that was.

25-Jan-18
Lovely summer day here - paddling, swimming, then walking and geocaching Smile I did this on the downhill - finding this track helped to complete a good walking circle from Ngakuta Bay.

07-Jan-18
Found with GVD. Their second find, it took longer than it probably should have. First of our loop walk on the track to Nakuta bay and a picnic lunch! Tftc

Not hard to find if using logic with clues provided

I was staying in Picton for a couple of days before heading over Nelson/Motueka way later next week. As it was turning out a nice day I decided to take a drive along Queen Charlotte Drive to do a round trip back to Picton via Spring Creek. What a fantastic drive this is.

Yes, I was enticed to go up the track to sign this one off.

Cheers for the cache.

Quick find, TFTC.

My friends and I have stayed in a bach near here a few times now, and I just can't leave these caches around the hills unfound any longer. So I went for a loop walk, ended up being about 8km in all, such a nice way to spend a dreary afternoon, with excellent views of Grove Arm for most of the way. This one was first up on the loop walk. Bit of a grunt up that hill from the road. Almost missed the entrance, overall not a bad track up to the main track though. Quick find once I got to the right place. TFTC (3733)

We bypassed this one when we rode the track above. Couldn't drive past it again so up we went. A meat almost secret track to gz. Instant find once close.
Thanks stayonmytail for the cache.

Found while out with KE, yes bit hard to spot the track entrance, but from then on great. Soon had cache in hand at GZ. TFTC

Found in the company of Kiwimykl. After spending yesterday on the Grampians in Nelson we decided to try something a little closer to home and did another one of the options Kiwimykl selected for me to choose from for this weekend. He had already done this section of the Link track a month (and one day) ago without me but missed one on purpose just so he had an excuse to go back with me. As we didn't have an hour and a half drive to get to the caching area today we had a more leisurely start to the day and gave it a chance to warm up I bit before we started.

After finding Old Bridal Track, we returned to the car and made our way to the roadside entrance point to this cache. We figured we didn't want to have to walk back along the whole section between Ngakuta Bay and Wedge Point to get to the car so made a series of strategic forays into the track from three different entrance points.

Despite Kiwimykl having found this cache previously, I didn't need his help for a QEF at GZ. From here it was onward and upward.

TFTC very slippery from the bottom should have got this one while walking along the old bridle track

One of the benefits of being a member of our country's military forces is the opportunity to take time out to partake in the activities organized by many of the sport and recreational clubs that abound at our military bases. While these benefits aren't as generous for the civilian members as they are for the uniformed branch, the opportunity to take part in these activities (if we make up the time off) is something not available to the average worker in 'civvy street'.

So when the RNZAF Base Woodbourne Adventure Sports Club decided to head out to the Link Track between Picton and Havelock this afternoon, I along with fellow geocachers, runners, walkers and mountain bikers leapt at the chance to take part. There were 11 of us in total doing the 5.5km section between Wedge Point and Ngakuta Bay, some one way (the geocachers and walkers), and others in both directions (the runners and MTBers).

I had six caches along the track targeted this afternoon and this was the third. It was supposed to be the fourth but a DNF at 'Chas'n the Tail' (would that refer to stayonmytail?) meant a future trip will need to be planned. I was confident of getting this one as I was in the company of a previous finder... at least I thought she was a previous finder, until she walked straight past it. I found it quickly enough and a check of the log proved Raisinpig had actually found it, she was just suffering from a bout of C.R.A.F.T (Can't Remember A Flaming (or any other suitable F-word) Thing.

Sunday morning caching and an attempt to clear my 6 remaining caches on the left of the road between Picton and Havelock. This would entail getting the Momorangi three, a couple on the Bridle Track and the random remaining cache Enticer. No dog with me as not sure of access and allowability for my furry caching friend and just as well as there wasn't a great deal of drinkable water especially up the Momorangi walk at the end.
After conquering Momorangi it was time to head back but not before this last green splodge on my map. I'd failed to see the track entry on the way past, but read a recent log and parked at Governors Bay and headed up to the slight entry point. First couple of metres steep and rough plants but easy as after that. Another nice little track and a Q E F at G Z of the cache

After dropping off Miss 16 at the airport this morning for her school trip to Cambodia/Laos I was needing something to take my mind off a whole month without her.
This is a perfect way of distracting me and being out in the stunning marlborough weather is an added bonus.
A wee drive along the Queen Charlotte drive to finish off the afternoon. Parked up at the Governors bay carpark - and crossed the road to find an entrance for the track to get this one - track is a bit rough and very overgrown in places. Got a bit scratched up from the slight bush bashing through gorse.
No trouble locating cache once I got to GZ - GPS all good - and dry log found.

Have heard about this track but didn't know where it started until now.

I've had these caches along this Bridle Track on the radar for absolutely ages so decided today was the day. Spotted the entrance and a n ice park opposite and made my way up to the cache trying not to hold on to anything - too much cutty and prickly stuff. Really enjoyed the walk and the views were lovely. It was also a lot more sheltered up here compared to the wind at the start. TFTC #6849

[green] Got invited to a road trip with Taybee and TaybeeNZ, and Taybee cleverly worked out a route neither of us had been - 40 caches worth! Picton, Queen Chalotte and Pelorus. Long day.
Another good example of a cache that should have a trail head waypoint, although again, we found the entry point okay. Ah - eclipse tins in the bush. Yay. Reminds me of Dunedin.

07-Oct-14
First cache of the day on my trip no problem now I know where he track starts

03-Mar-14
TFTC! Been meaning to go for a walk on this old bridle track ever since we first heard about it. Bit overgrown in places but some beautiful bush gullies. Enjoyed it so will be back to check it out in the other direction.

We didn't need any enticing to spend a morning on the bridle trail - another find for Sirpa. Thanks for the search.

08-Jun-13
Once we had found the entry point the hard work was over!!Staying at a friends bach in Nagkuta bay so the perfect opportunity to cross this one off the list.Thank goodness for geocaching or we would never know this track existed.Apologies if the log shows up again, having a lot of trouble with the app on the phone.TFTC

Nice track, must explore more one day, Izzy found this one.

07-Jul-12
Last cache of the day having come from the Picton end of the track. Mrs Biggles stayed with the car and had a lovely peaceful time sitting down in Nakuta Bay. As I went for the cache I exited at Governors Bay and had to call her to come up and pick me up here. I could see her down in the car park but with the sun behind me, she couldn't see me. Anyway, the track down from the bridle track to here was pretty slippery and I managed to end up on my bum once... No problem with the cache as the coordinates were spot on. TFTC, Biggles.

I don't want to sit in the car the whole day. Let's stop, this looks nice. Well, it's terrain rating is 3. How hard could it be?

A quick find on my way towards Picton this afternoon. I wasn't going to attempt this but as I drove past I spotted an access track and there was parking close by so decided to give it a go. I'm glad I did, it was a very nice walk and it took only a few minutes to get up to the cache. Signed log, TFTC!
