After over 24 hrs of travelling Veke68 and I finally arrived in Melbourne. We quickly left our luggage at our accommodation and headed to these Woodlands caches. We had a nice walk, woods here are so different from how they are back home! And we saw loads of kangaroos & other animals and birds that you certainly don't see in Finland! We found all the caches along the route we took, including a couple that were disabled. Still, many Woodlands stashes have to wait for our next visit. Thank you for the cache!
After two very long flights, we arrived finally to Melbourne with Katsukka.First check in and luggage to our hotel and then nice walk to nearest forest. We saw lot of kangaroos, echidna, fox bandicoot, many birds, rabbits etc. and of course many caches. We logged with common nick VKGreetings from Finland Thanks
It was a lovely sunny day today so I decided to make my way back out here to find a few more caches in this series throughout the afternoon. I have already found a large portion of this Woodlands series, and was hoping to tick a few more off today. I had a very successful time caching while I was out here as I managed to find every cache I had intended to. There are still a few more caches remaining in this series I need to find, including the final, so I think that one more trip out to this area will be required in the future. Cache was a quick, easy find and, much like many of my previous finds today, was also in good condition.TFTC
Found today after revisiting. I must not have had my cache eyes in last time. TFTC
Just saw a plane not in the clouds. Pretty cool. TFTC, SL at 1pm. Oh, and I saw an echidna too!
Checked on this one today.Replaced the Log.Sharpened the pencil. All good to go.
TFTC.....took a little bit of time to find, nice sneaky hide.....conscious we had some muggles, seniors and juniors,, not far behind us
On secondment to Melbourne, Australia, combined with short holidays here and there. Day 44/74, Tuesday. After working remotely today from my AirBnB apartment in Keilor Downs, I drove to the Woodlands Historic Park in early evening. I enjoyed this visit SO MUCH! Well, except that it was really hot for a Finn, 33 degrees. Other than that, this was an amazing evening. First of all, I saw so many kangaroos! Between 100 and 150, easily. They were all over. I love the kangaroos!! Secondly, this geocache trail is GREAT! I found all the caches (ah, no, there was one DNF - but all the others) quickly. The coordinates were very good. All the caches were in great condition. I also appreciated the hints A LOT! So, 26 finds and 1 DNF today. I will definitely come back here. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!Thanks for the cache and greetings from Vaasa, Finland! Logged with [GCDroid](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gcdroid).
Melbourne to Adelaide Road TripDay Two: Melbourne to Beaufort Weather: sensational, not too warm. One of a cluster of Woodlands caches found and logged today. A lovely walk with many, many roos for company, some of them quite large. Also regular reminders that the airport is close by. All caches were reasonably easy to find, and in good condition. Im enjoying this series, and will be back for more at a later date. Thanks for the cache and this great series Team Woodlands. Its officially a megaGCA1DNA The Great Leap ForwardAdelaide, South Australia February 29, 2024Wed love to have your company.
Having attended a recent event in Brisbane where a fellow cacher brought my attention to the geo tour in Ballarat and its up coming finish in February, i knew this was something I had to make an effort to get to.I also quickly realised that the attribute for the geo tour is the last one I need to achieve a personal challenge so the planning began.Today is day three of the mission and Ive completed the geo art and the tour so Im very happy. Todays mission is to get to 100 in this local LGA and then head towards Sunbury in the hope to pick up another 25 to also reach 100 in that LGA before my flight out tonight. Obviously this is for a local challenge cache at home. What else. Unfortunately I missed the events in Castlemaine. Time got the better of me.I jumped in The geowagon and ventured off the o soon find a nice parking spot. A short stroll later soon found me at ground zero. It wasnt long before cache was found and my name was printed for prosperity. I returned the cache to its hiding space and made my way back to the car. Ready to head to the next adventureA big thanks to the cache owners of Ballarat for making this cache available to be found.Cheers
Muggles were nearby, so I finished my lunch and had a drink.
My kids and hubby are at two different camps with Scouts. I set myself a goal to complete this series so I could sign off a Challenge cache of 100 caches owned by one CO. Unfortunately, five are behind a locked, fenced off area for Eastern Barred Bandicoot. It was an amazing day with the weather being perfect. I started at 11am & finished at 5pm. Big day!!

Many thanx to Team Woodlands for the series and ongoing maintenance - well done
Look forward to a return visit to complete the series

Catching up on my WHP caches. Out exploring with photographer hubby. No cache found in all the obvious places.
Quick find during a hike in the park.

Given the weather report for the next few days I thought I might duck out while the rain was holding off and get a bit of cache exercise in.
I’ve been slowly ticking off this series so thought I’d knock off one of the sections.
I arrived near the fence of the sanctuary as plane after plane took off near by. A quick find here and all in good order.
Thanks Team_Woodlands for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.

I has been a while since I have been out to Woodlands, but I had a free morning, so I thought I should make a start with this series.
Unloaded the deadly treadly about 9am on a cool overcast day, just perfect for a ride.
The first half a dozen had pristine log books, and were all in excellent condition.
Then I came across one with a quarter full logbook! What is happening here? Just past the next cache I met up with the CO who was doing maintenance. Stopped for a chat.
All the other caches I did today were in good condition - a great job with the maintenance.
Thanks for keeping this series up long enough for me to get around to them
Completed a loop of about 35 caches this morning. I will be back.
Crossed the top of the bandicoot enclosure and onto a new track.
A quick find in the only likely position.
Thanks, Robmc.

Great series. I thought I'd incorporate Geocaching with a trail run through this lovely park on a weekend visit to Melbourne. Thank you
After dropping some family off at the airport, I continued tackling this series. It was very warm today, and most of the trails were out in the open. I packed some sunscreen along with my water bottle and made sure I was reapplying it every couple of hours.
All up I walked 11.5km today, and took care of a little under 30% of the entire series, only a few more visits, and I'll have them all done!
All caches were found in good condition, with a few exceptions.

Find No. 3939. Found with FUF009.
A day trip down to do the Woodland series of caches.
Took our bicycles and FUF009 came with us.
Arrived at the gate, unloaded our bikes, had a cuppa and off we went getting our first cache at 8.55am.
We worked our way through the series stopping several times to watch the coming and going of the jets at Tullamarine.
After a long warm day with several challenges, we arrived back at the car park for a rest and well earned cuppa.
We put the clues together, punched in the co-ords and went and claimed the final cache of the series.

Well this has been a long time coming, to do the Woodlands caches. Many a plan has fallen through due to health and pandemic and work issues. But finally all was on our side for a cracker geocaching day to end 2022.
With bikes loaded up we were off, left St.Arnaud just before 6am and had the first cache signed at 8.55am. Then it was just one by one, following the GPSr.
From flowing trails to bush bashing (with and without tall grass) and even a bit of water, we had a lot. All the while the sounds of planes going overhead, birds around and the odd 100 roos thumping the ground when we disturbed them.
We managed to make good time and accomplish all we set out to do. Despite the heat and a couple of hills I had to walk up.
We believe luck was on our side with the back paddock being opened, after seeing so many had commented on it being shut.
All in All, personally, it was great to finally get this series done with a couple others thrown in that are in the park.
Oh and by the way, we got back home just after 9.30pm. A big days outing.

A few red herrings at this cache 3rd place I looked gave me the cache...I think other cachers are trying to be tricky...well it had me amused.
Having dropped mum off at the airport, catnap777 and I made the most of our day by cycling the Woodlands in such perfect weather.
On this our 2nd visit to the park together, we managed to pick up every last available cache in the Woodlands, leaving only those behind the catproof fence for us to find (in the Back Paddock) on another day when Parks Victoria eventually unlock the double gates. [^]
All caches were found or returned in good condition with dry logs and sharp pencils.

Today I returned to Woodlands with biggles1024 in the hope of finally finishing this series after talking about doing it for many years, I was able to get all of the caches needed except for 9 caches that are in the back paddock that we have not found as it was locked up and we were locked out so another visit in the future will be needed.
The caches today where all found fairly quickly and most of them had a new log sheet in them which was stamped as we continued from one to the next.
**Thanks to Team_Woodlands for placing this cache.**

A lovely, sunny day for a scooter ride with spiffy-, to find more of the Woodlands series, chatting to numerous kangaroos along the way.

47 Woodlands caches today - my legs are so sore now. Kids at school so off i went. Had planned to do a few others but there was a BIG fence in the way so I’ll have to remember that for my next visit. Lots of kangaroos out today. TFTC.
Hee Hee didn’t even get off bike for this one. Thank you for repeat of clues as I left others at home
I started this series late last year and was determined not to leave it too long to complete it. Today was perfect, not too hot, not too cold and quite dull so no glaring sun to make the screen hard to see. This is an excellent series in a beautiful bush setting not far from the city. If grass seeds where gold my socks would be rich!
