Today I had to replace a faulty server at the courthouse in Stanthorpe.I took the train into the Brisbane and collected the server, cables and the pool car. Then a delightful 3 hour drive to Stanthorpe, 18 minutes to replace the server, a quick bite to eat, a three hour drive back to Brisbane, then a 45 minute on the train to get home. This was a nice quick find on the way back.Thanks!!#3725

Today we took a loop out of town which headed back towards Stanthorpe then out to the southern end of Lake Leslie before heading up to the lake wall and then back into Warwick. We were hoping for warmer weather but it was a mixture of very light showers with some sunny patches and light winds.A couple of DNFs as well as being thwarted with some tree fishing caches as our fishing pole just isn't long enough. We ill have to rethink that when we get home. Its happening more and more!A good day caching.Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Team Robins.**SKI Pair****

Heading down to Glen Aplin for the Curry Night Event, bags and food is packed for a two night, three day trip. List of about 15 potential caches plus an Ad Lab in Texas has been preparedSpotted that Cob & Co cache (previous DNF) had been replaced, so we detoured off the highway and found it quickly. So that is one find that was not on my list! Thanks for replacement Gem 54, and for the hide Team Robins

Wow, this area has been cleaned up. We have dropped a cache here to keep it in the game. It should be easily spotted. It's up off the ground. Also has swops in it for the kids.

Thanks anyway.

After the fires that came through here this week, I came out to check whether a caches were ok. This one seems to have fallen prey to the fire that blasted through! Owner maintenance may be required.

Caching on a day needed to fill my grid. I had been working to try to get around 7 times, but it was becoming a bit taxing, so have reduced the number to 6. and will see how we go. Can always do 7 next year.

Have been past this location many times on our way south, today was the day to stop and find a cache.

Grrr the graze on my arm from last caching has just healed, now I have another's. No sign of a cache. Not a good day for caching. 3 DNFs in a row

I found this geocache on a mystical journey from South Australia, through Victoria, New South Wales and back again.
I did log all of the caches on my handheld GPS however some of the logs did not sychronise properly so I apologise for the generic log on these caches, which are the ones that didn't log proprly from my GPS.
I had a fantastic journey and thank you for placing and maintaining your geocache or earthcache for visitors like me.

24-Jan-21
Heading out to Stanthorpe this weekend to grab some of the wonderful caches on offer out here. Our group of Triple Turmoil, CHAMAD and NayFee signed logs as team TWOCAN.
An easy find at gz today.
Thank you for the cache Team Robins.

23-Jan-21
I have just had the best weekend caching around the Warwick, Summit and Stanthorpe areas. With caching buddies (geonayfee, Willis007 and Triple Turmoil) for the weekend we got in a very large number of caches, completing the apple geoart, the fruit run and a few other special caches along the way. I had a fantastic weekend with lots of laughs and funny events it just made for a fun time; the puzzle solving in the lead up to the weekend was great also.

A big thanks to all the CO’s of the caches along the way; for placing and maintaining the caches for us to enjoy. Visiting this area and seeing places I would never see in a normal trip here was enlightening, so again thanks.

In the weekend I got around 180 caches so firstly apologies for the generic part to the log, I do not remember all specifically but some did stand out so I will add a little to those in my posts.

An easy find in a nice area, thanks.

23-Jan-21
I was invited to join Chamad, TripleTurmoil and Willis007 for an epic Geocaching adventure on the Granite Belt and surrounding areas. Our morning started bright an early at Warwick (For some good ole caffeine goodness) and slowly but surely we made our way south towards Stanthorpe while grabbing MANY caches on the way.

The main goal for the weekend was to complete the Stanthorpe GeoArt and sign a couple of the challenge caches. We had a wonderful yet tiring day, we did plenty of driving and visited several locations I haven't been to before

Thank you to each and every CO for places caches at these location. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and had a blast. We'll certainly enjoy our sleep tonight.

Signed as Twocans

Apologies for the copy pasting crap.

After meeting Willis007 and Chamad at a previous event over New Years, they invited me to join them on an epic geoart mission at Stanthorpe. After weeks of puzzling and planning, today was the day (together with Nayfee). We covered a lot of mileage, had a lot of laughs and learnt a lot along the way.

Between Warwick and Stanthorpe there are a LOT of caches to sign and we did a pretty good job of getting every single one we could - signed as Twocan to save 25 seconds of signing at each cache, as we had work to do!

Day 3 of our Granite Belt Grabathon saw us heading North back to the GC. At least today is not wet! The temperature may reach 13 degrees today but the wind is stronger so probably still an apparent temperature of around 6 degrees. No one ever said the Geocaching was meant to be easy!

After a long anticipated 4 day hike in NSW, that was originally planned for this week, had to be abandoned because of the border closures, Crookedpete, JezNDez and I rearranged the week to start with a hike along the Stretcher Track and end with an extended weekend hiking in Giraween.

Although we were now on the drive back towards Brisbane, we still had a select list of caches yet to find, including this one. My pre-trip researched had identified this one as having been unfound for over 6 months and, with recent CO maintenance having been performed, we made sure to make the detour off the highway for a look.

Dez was the one to have eagle eyes here today and had this one located quite quickly after arriving at GZ. TFCT

30-Aug-20
Queensland border closures put an end to a Bromance extended hiking adventure in Oxley Rivers National Park in NSW. Still needing a break, a Bromance plus weekend trip to Stanthorpe with Seffnjarah, JeznDez, Swellerfungus and Lady Sim was organised.

Friday was spent touring the region collecting unloved cache. On Saturday, we hiked to the Junction and then on to the Arch before climbing both Pyramids. Today, we ventured to the Sphinx and Turtle Rock, before climbing the Castle on our return.

Heading for home now, but still time for a few more caches along the way.

Thanks Team Robins

Sometimes it's just about the numbers and this run was for that and if course the planetary souvenirs. I truly admire those that have done 100 or more, we were exhausted after just over 50 but that gets us half way there. We still enjoyed the driving and looking on the back roads and thank you for your effort in putting them there for us to do this run. TFTC

I set out bright and early this morning for a day of caching, but not before I'd kidnapped a geo-guru on my way through Toowoomba, to be my chauffeur, and to find a few he had yet to get further south. It was a big day and a good day. Found this cache with some help from the Guru who had discovered that nature had tried to consume the cache. The Guru extracted the cache from the grip of nature and I signed the log, thanks for the hide, it is all now in good order! Smile

Convinced a caching friend to join me for a special challenge cache in Tenterfield so picked a few up while in the area.....I apologise for the generic logs! Thanks for a great day out Monkey Maker and a great cache Mr/s CO!

Well isn't this one a little ripper. We both managed to miss it on the first pass and the second and the third. One of those times I would have directly looked at it but with painted eyes today, well thankfully only at this one. A giant lizard trying to snooze the day away was woken by HWD as she tried to scare the poor thing or maybe that was the other way round.
Anyhow eventually HWD made the find and all is good in the world...until this afternoon when I smash my phone scene, ahhhhhhhhhhh

This is one cache out of many caches on our third day of our long caching weekend.

02-Oct-16

Long weekend - perfect timing to geocache around Stanthorpe and clear up some green dots. Nadine1989 is in the company of Mr and Mrs RoddyC.

This cache was found on day 2.

Nuvi wanted to take us up the coach road that does not exist. So we went back to the highway, and soon found the appropriate wattle.

Log signed & replaced again. Found at 5.15pm on 2nd October, 2016. TFTC

2/7/16 Out caching with Marina25 and my two semi-muggle children. We are on a mission to get Marina25 to 1000 finds by mid-July and she still needs approx. 300 Surprised. So….what better place to grab a bucket load of caches then out here. We left home at 4:52am with the kids rugged up with blankets hoping they would fall back asleep (the boy did, the girl didn’t – but they both slept on the way home [^]). We found our fist cache at 7:23 am (GC3YDQE) and our last cache at 5:31pm (GC4AGVK). At the end of the day we had found 220 caches Cool, 4 DNFs Sad, cached for 10hrs and 8mins (including a 25min lunch stop Wink), with a 16hr and 5min round trip. On the drive out the temperature was noted to be -2 degrees at 6:40am, but on the whole the weather was delightful.

Usually my children complain about going geocaching (and to begin with, today was no exception) but soon enough the daughter started helping and then I couldn’t stop her. She even managed to find a few before me Red Face. In the days leading up to this adventure we loaded a large number of caches onto our iPhones and I also decided to do a pocket query onto my GPS, just in case. I am so glad I did as at one point our loaded caches on the phones had run out and service was not sufficient to download any more Twisted. A great day was had by all and I am very keen to come back and complete the various series we started today.

Sorry for the copy and paste logs and unless noted all is good with this cache. A big thankyou to all the CO’s and those that maintain these caches. TFTC Smile

02-Jul-16
Went out today with a mission in mind to try and get 100 caches, so the plan was plotted, and Annett (AKA 14NET) downloaded the power trails between Warwick and Stanthorpe. We headed OFF at 4:52am for our 183KLM trip to Warwick and a further 20 KLM to our first cache. It is now 7:23am and number 1 was in our grasp we checked our times every 10 caches, to accomplish our mission we had to get 1 cache each 3.2 minutes, we had 10 by 7:55am we were right on target. The hunt was on and no time to lose, when we got to cache 100 we were well ahead of time and a new mission came to mind let’s get 200, our best 10 caches was done in 14 minutes that was 1.4 mins per cache, our goal is now becoming a reality. We get to number 200 and there is still daylight whoohoo let’s see how many more before nightfall. We logged our last cache number 220 at 5:31pm and arrived home at 8:57 pm. Thank you 14 NET for being a very motivated caching buddy and also the Geo Grand Kiddies for being such great sports. TFTC to all the CO’S and Cache maintainers.

13-May-16
I came up to Stanthorpe mainly to get the finals for a few challenges that we had all the requirements for and also to do the Stan's Apples caches but I had a great time picking up others as well along the way!!!

Geo Wife had sent me off on Tuesday with her blessing because she thought she would hold me back but it was good to get away anyway.

I have had a ball for the last 3 days and it was now time to head homeward but there were still some great caches that beckoned me so I just had to stop along the way!!!

This one was very neatly hidden!!

Thanks Team Robins TFTC SL

After spending a couple of hours on the power trail with WillPunkey and my toddler were hungry so we headed to the Hwy to grab some apples and then back to finding a few more caches before heading home to Toowoomba. Both kids loved the afternoon and made some swaps along the way.

Out on a adventure with gram4380 grabbing a few caches around the area. Pulled up at an area which looked ideal for a cache and followed the GPS. Look here, look there - can't seem to see anything. Hmm. I'm sure it should be there... Over comes gram4380 who takes one look and finds it sitting out in the open on the ground.
Gram4380 definitely deserves a girl scout caching badge for being prepared. Off she raced to the car for a replacement log which was dutifully inserted and the cache was reattached using some fancy knot (which i was oblivious to).
All good with this one now. Thanks! Smile
