There is a sign saying the park is closed until further notice so we didn't attempt this.
We went up the hill today, ignored the sign. Once we were at the spot we were looking for it around the top of the hill, also behind the big rock close to the edge but couldn't find it. There were a bunch of rocks piled up like it was said in the hint but nothing under there. So either we were looking in the wrong spot or it got stolen or damaged.
I turned up at the parking spot and it says "Park is closed until further notice". I was not willing to break the law so I did not look for the cache.
CO does this cache need maintance want to find soon but previous logs say wet cache and no log book..... thanks in advance
Found with fellow uk cacher Claire. Had almost given up! It's not the bright red box seen in the pictures anymore...and soggy contents with no blog...but lovely view. TFTC
We didn't find it the other day and went where the compass says but there wasn't anything there. There is also a homeless person in a tent around the corner just to let you guys have a warning, not that it is a bad thing but just to notify you.
Went for a walk. Can't believe how nature has reclaimed what is hers. The cache needs maintenance, its wet and there is no log and couldn't see the coin.
Quick find on our visit to the area. Geokids were very happy with the pirate find. TFTC.
Great view! Careful on the edge. First find for the hubby!
No log in the cache, things a bit damp. Took nothing, left nothing.

Fantastic view. No log in cache. Travel bug left. Great location for pirate spotting
Didn't bring anything to put in it, and totally forgot a pen but still exciting to find.
Lovely view, cache log was missing though and some pretty rubbish swaps
TFTC, a nice hike up the hill!

Another find, oh, great view by the way! I was interested to find no log book in this one though... Nevertheless, TFTC!
Family asleep good time to go looking for a cache. TFTF left calling card and rubber bracket. Cool views and a easy climb to the top.
Found while caching with Kramen. Great view and a great spot for a hide. [email protected] TFTC KateRX
Found the track alright but it is a bit rugged! Pleased the weather has been dry. Lovely views again after the cache was in hand. TFTC
Tried going up the front way near the park couldn't find a path, tried going from the back, also couldn't find a path
Great views. Well worth the walk to find this. Took anyone TB. Heading further up the coast so will drop it somewhere else if I don't I will bring it back to Ireland with me. TFTC.
Found this one after a little search at GZ. The path up here wasn't as bad as I had expected and the view is as per the cache name. Just magic. TFTC. TNLN. SL.
Great view thort about trying to jump in the pool....
Picked up TB and dropped of another TFTC

Found this cache whilst out for the day with Nyssaflutterby and Lady Membsec. We were down the coast for the day and when this one popped up on the map Nyssaflutterby was very excited. Apparently when she was just a small flutterby she used to come here.
We piled out of the car and headed up the "mountain" together, Nyssa telling me all the stories she remembered about coming here. We headed off the track and over towards GZ and were both standing there for a minute taking in the view before we remembered about the actual cache. I started searching as Nyssa took some photos and within a minute or two I had the cache in my hands.
We signed the logbook and replaced the cache as found. The cache is well and dry. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache KateRX

I was down in this area chasing a few caches that I needed for my DT grid with Lady membsec and Net88. I noticed this cache come up on the map and just couldn't resist climbing the hill to find it. I have fond memories of time spent as a child at the old Magic Mountain amusement park. The chair lift, the parachute drop tower, the ball pit, dodgem cars...... oh what fun
I parked Spangle and then Net88 and myself hit the track, it certainly was a hot hike up the hill, we both had to rest a few times. We finally found GZ and while I took a few photos Net88 found the cache. Great view from here.
Thanks for the cache and the memory flashback KateRX

Great hide. Wasn't looking forward to climbing the hill but it wasn't too bad after all. TFTC
My partner has been raving on about Magic Mountain and the fun she had here as a kid when it was an amusement park. The place still seems magical to me. What a fantastic view. Easy find. Picked up TB. Tftc
After an appointment in Mermaid Waters decided to grab a few caches along the Coast. Lots of muggles and schoolies to deal with, but managed 5.
Great view form GZ and a nice walk to it... TFTC.

This one was a little more difficult; so many bushes; so many piles of rocks!.Worth the view alone
Early start again this morning with a few on the hit list. This was the first and after getting a park in the empty car park I made the climb up to GZ. You can tell this little patch of bushland gets regular visits from the local school kids. I don't blame them really, if I had have went to Miami High this probably would have been a regular hang out during history class.
Awesome view from up here and I caught a glimpse of a whale breaching just as I got to the top. How cool is that. Soon found the hide and added a new name to the log. I had a TB I was going to swap but it wouldn't fit inside the container, doh.
After replacing I took a seat and watched the world go by for a bit, I even spotted the tree that held the next cache I was after down on Marine pde. I apparently came to Magic mountain a few times but obviously to young to remember.
Thanx for the cache KateRX

Nice spot and AWESOME view...certainly earned its 3stars for terrain. Dropped off a couple of TBs brought over from NZ. One on a visit, and one coming home...awesome hide...took a while and a lot of Gingerly poking about...cheers from NZ...V.
Some night time caching with friends.. this being the first of three finds, thanks for the cache

What an incredible day it seemed like there wasn't a cloud in the sky!
We are fast running out of close by caches and trying to keep some for the rest of the August Challenge.
So we decided this would be a nice one when we had a bit of time up our sleeves.
It's going to be fun getting closer to the election when we are doing Pre Poll from sun up to sun down but hopefully we have kept the closer ones for that, please NO DNFs!!!
We had gone up to grab "Stone of Destiny" yesterday so weren't sure if we'd made the right choice for today, after all we're old!!
The track up looked far more inviting and the kind council even gave us sitting and resting rails all the way up so the trip was far from arduous and we found the right points quickly.
As we approached GZ we were amazed at the view with such a clear day, we could see so far I am sure we saw the land of the long white cloud!!
We searched around for a little trying to get the GPS to settle (why on such a clear day?)
Eagle eyed Geo Wife came up with the goods, and we studied the contents, disappointed the TB was not there.
The cache was fine and dry. We decided to leave a TB there after some deliberation.
Thanks KateRX for bringing us to this incredible view. Favourite point coming your way.

Long delayed logging, signed as robd. Date may be out by a few days, but I found it during our stay in Coolangatta. TFTC.
We tried this a few days ago but got stumped looking for the access to the trail.
Had it all worked out today when we tried again and succeeded in finding the trail and the cache.
Great views from up high.
We saw a beautiful bush turkey with the most amazing nest. The work that goes into making them is astounding and to think one little bird does it all is even more amazing.
Thanks KateRX, enjoyed the walk and the view.

We decided to go for a ride from surfers to the airport and back to do some caches today. Parked our bikes at the bottom of the hill and started the hike up the hill. As we approached GZ we spotted 4 Carr as they were leaving. Nice view! TFTC
What a fabulous place. This is where geo caching is so fabulous for taking people to places they would probably not otherwise see. Loved the view and the bush. Picked up travel bug which was left there earlier today to take it on our travels. TFTC
Out and about after a half day at work.
A nice little walk up a hill for more views.
A quick find and left a TB.
Thanks for the cache.

Seems that climbing mountains is in my stars for today. This being the second anyway. A little harder then the first maybe because I had already climbed the other, anyway it was well worth the climb for the view.
Well there was also the side effect of getting a good look at the cache that was sitting up here as well. Turned out to be rather easy once I got in the right position to look, as I found the cache with the top stone on the side. Not to worry it has been replaced now, with an extra name in the log.

Found fairly easily after a short easy hike. Great views. This is what I love about caching, when it takes you somewhere good that you otherwise wouldn't know about.

Thankyou so much for bringing us up here. Beautiful. Took rubbish of beer cans from the site. Left footprints. Swapped a guitar pick for an eraser

Once we found where to park the walk up was great. The views from the top were magic. SL TFTC
Another find while on xmas holidays. The kids especially loved climbing the dirt track
We came to Magic Mountain on our honeymoon in 1985. It sure has changed a lot. It was quite a fun place with its cable chair ride up to the top. It was interesting to return and see how much it has changed. I would not have found the place if it had not been for this cache. This was the only cache we found on this visit and was specially chosen. Thanks KateRX.
The weather couldn't be nicer to admire the coastal views from this vantage point.

We circumnavigated the "mountain" and found the track. Made the climb and came to the stunning view. Made the quick find and continued up higher anticipating more views. Not today.

No.250 for me. After having a DNF at Kokoda I needed a cache that meant something in terms of my family.
We visited the Magic Castle when my daughter was a baby. It must have been early 1981.
My husband went on to become Merlin the Wizard an entertainer on the Gold Coast and then we had later had computerised fortune telling Merlin's at all of the major tourist sites on the Gold Coast.
So yes Magic Mountain was a good choice. I'm glad that someone has strung a series of bottles across the path alerting to the fact that there is a steep drop over the edge very near the cache. The jingling of the bottles adds quite a nice effect. Thanks KateRX for bringing me back up here.
Dropped off a pseudo geocoin hoping that it magically turns into a real one!!

Being in the area I decided to make a detour for this cache. As I came around the few corners towards the carpark I spotted the huge lettering, which I've seen a few times from the air, they certainly stand out. I grabbed my GPS and pen and headed off up the track at a jog. There were some muggles along the way doing.. not much. Near the top I spotted the track but before turning off towards GZ I paused, thinking there were muggles in the trees. I could hear bottles clinking. I walked out and two things were immediately apparent. The first was the wind. I think on the ground it was gusting to 30knots, but on top of this hill I'm surprised the trees had any leaves left! One of my windiest caches yet. The second thing was the clinking. Someone has strung up about 50 glass bottles between the trees, quite nice, but as you can imagine they were going nuts in the wind. Not something I've seen before but I quite liked all that. I got to finding the cache and soon found it. I parked myself on a rock to sign the log and take in those views, I also noted a muggle or two has signed the logbook, but all is in good condition inside. I rehid as found and spent a while looking out at that view. Although magic Mountain was before my time, I thoroughly enjoyed this spot today, a favourite point from me. TFTC KateRX
Found @ 12:36pm while at the Gold Coast to attend the Pan Pacific Masters games
Had a break between games at Pizzey Park so thought I'd go for a short caching ride, this was the 1st of three found today. A lovely stroll up the trail to this one with nice views from GZ. I left a pathtag.
The listed trackable, Jacob, was nowhere to be seen.
Thanks for bringing me here and sharing the history of this area KateRX

Found with goldielover. It was a nice walk up to this one. There were lots of crazy surfboarders riding the waves. Found the container and signed our names. Then headed back to the car to continue our way home. Thanks KateRX.
Found with stairman1 on a windy and miserable day at the gold coast. This was a great walk and the views were spectacular. The waves were certainly choppy and there were crazy surfers riding them . Located the container and signed the log. Thanks KateRX
