Beautifully eeiry place to stop and reflect on the little girl and her last swim Thanks for breaking up the drive home.
Out with Happy pants for a fews days celebrating my special birthday. In Shepparton and grabbing a few around the area. Stopped off here on our way home. Made a quick find here but such a sad story. Thanks Yullaba for placing this cache and doing the maintenance, so we can enjoy finding it.
Nice container here and a great concept for on the back roadsOn the way home from the Capital Geobash Mega in the ACT, today I made my way from Corowa/Rutherglen to Kerang via Shepparton, I had no real plan today other than find a few caches for a challenge caches plus visit some places on the back roads I was yet to visit. Thanks for the cache
Reperio 13:12The youngest and I headed into Shepparton today from staying with family in Nathalia, and were looking to spend the day finding some local caches. This was another nice simple drive by cache that was nicely hidden, but with such a tragic tale attached to this location.Gratias YullabaAs a well spent day brings happy sleep, a well spent life brings happy death - LDV
Clever husband found this sneaky one. Too wet to sign at the moment though. TFTC
I was on my way to Wangaratta prior to the event tomorrow. Unfortunately, I think I logged them as 03/10 instead of 03/11. It wasn't quite where I expected it to be, but it was still the first place I looked. Thanks to Yullaba for the cache.
Another quick and easy find (on a roll today!!). TFTC. Log is very wet (unsignable)
Found with Bogonghazy on our way home from Yarrawonga. Very clever hide. Thanks for placing the geocache
Found with LittleBoss2 on our return from a couple of days in the area. Very clever, had my hand on it initially, and let it go. LB2 was more persistent. Thanks
Cache found on the extremely rare occasion when I am caching out on my own. You see, I was on a mission today visiting "cleanskin" caches that my darling partner had found many moons ago .
I had these handful of caches on the radar for so long, and for no particular reason I chose this day to finally go and find them .
Arrived at gz to notice a familiar and loved type of hide
So sad to read the cache page on this one.
Thank you Yullaba for keeping these caches going. The geocaching community thanks you aswell .
I have given you some favourite points.

Out with Geowife and Geodog exploring the area, looking for caches along the way. All good here. TFTC
Today we traversed around the flat country side following many wetlands, creeks and rivers, wow what a great plase to visit. We found many caches and this was one of them.
Dodging the rain we made our way around the eastern side of the showground trying not to get tooooo wet!. Cache and contents were in good condition.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

We then made camp at Numurkah beside the creek. A great spot only a couple of caravans here.
Such a peaceful location we decided tostay another day & just cache around the local area.
Thankyou Yullaba for placing this cache.
Even though we have seen similar cache hides in the past, all of us except Mrs B blithely ignored our past experiences so it was with a fair degree of gloating that Mrs B declared. "Look what I found!"
It's been quite a while since we've seen one of the 35mm film canisters, that's for sure! (That's NOT a spoiler by the way.)

This cache could have escaped us except that I've seen similar before so headed straight for it, another one for the girls for a change. Nice hide.

A day out in Regional Vic checking out the Silo Art and picking up a few caches along the way with our caching friends. After checking out the Silo Art at Goorambat, St James and Tungamah we were now heading across to Rochester. It was Mrs Biggles who made a quick easy find before the rest of us had even made it to GZ. TFTC.
Suscoe was heading homewards today after a terrific few days in Wangaratta.
It was delightful driving across this farm land with a cloudy sky, a cool breeze and the occasional spots of rain.
We had a wonderful morning enjoying the quiet and beauty of the farmlands and orchards down towards Shepparton.
Thanks to Yullaba for this hide, what a tragic story and we were amazed at just how close the channels are to the homes out here.

On the way back to Cobram and stoped at all of the water-themed caches. Very nicely done.
Great little hide here. Dropping a FAVE point for the fun

Finally found it, using clue from an earlier comment as very cloudy day and GPS was fluctuating widely. TFTC
A nice hide that we have seen done in various ways.
Thanks Yullaba for the water hide.

Looked high and low for a while then had a bright idea. Bingo. Dealt with one of the locals and signed the log. TFTC

After I inspected (and dismissed) a particular object, Geoturtle37 uncovered the cache in that very spot. Should have had a grown up look.

Found while out geocaching to the west of Yarrawonga. a quick find here cache OK. TFTC.
We have seen this style of hide before so it did not take us long to spot the well constructed hide. Not being local to these ares we find them quite fascinating. SL TFTC
For the first installment of this series,
I discovered that it was a rather tragic spot !! [:o]
It only takes one greedy drongo to do something they shouldn't be,
to cause such a sadness
People just don't think about the consequences of their actions
I do !! [:o]
Meanwhile at GZ,
I poked around for a while and couldn't find a cache
Ergo, it must be somewhere else !!
A bit of the scenery about 20 metres away caught me eye.
A much more sensible location on reflection [^]
And I soon had the logbook signed

Doing these in a weird order but it's a good view of a big channel. I had no clue on this one, seemed to lack likely hiding spots. But geowife is better at this game than l am, so she got suspicious, and a seemingly innocuous device was found to be concealing the cache. Thanks for a clever one. A favourite point awarded.
Ha ha ha this one had us laughing at the clever hide. We spent some time reflecting on the sad story behind this cache. TFTC SL TNLN
What a very sad tragic accident..
TFTC Yullaba & Thanks for sharing this story.
Great hide

Whilst we didn't find, we found the story very touching. Love and peace to all left behind xxxx
Having had to come to Cobram for work this afternoon, I managed to pick up 3 caches on my way back into Shepparton.
That's 3 less for future trips
Such a sad story
Thanks for the cache hide and the information [^]

A quick and easy drive by while we were in the area, but it still gets a favourite point from us. I almost didn't check the hide as it looked perfectly ordinary and. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.

Nice hide, glad I didn't read the cache notes till I'm at home logging, as it would've been an eerie place to stand and mourn a life I didn't even know, but can begin to feel the tragedy her family must've have gone through. Thanks for the hide and bringing us here.
Another beaut hide highlighting the waterways .
Found Thur 2.30 pm .
Many thanks to Yallaba.

My first find in this series and the first hide of this type I have come across. Wrapped to nab this one but a somber moment of reflection for the little girl lost.

Home for the weekend and decided to check out the local caches. After unsuccessful attempts on two others in the series, this one was located without too much difficulty.

Shore to shore! This is one of the caches we were able to catch along the way (or make a slight detour to include) as we drove north from the shores of Port Phillip in the morning to the bank of the Murray in the evening. Our third in the water series, we can recall a number of accidents associated with these channel systems.
Our thanks to Yullaba for the hunt.

#995 Oh what a tragic story to read, it sent a shiver down our spines standing on the bridge thinking about what happened to the poor girl. Unlike the previous Yullaba cache we found this one in no time. TFTC.
The original plan was to spend the day caching around Shepp. The plan changed before we got to town and we headed north by east then west toward home.
Another quick stop and the first of the "Water Turns..." caches for today.
Thank you for the cache Yullaba.

Good one. TFTC. Angus the great GeoWestie assisted by grey nomad carer Lis Brown on a journey from Shepparton Vic to Geelong Vic then Coolah and Port Stephens in NSW and back to Shepparton before going to Tasmania.
Very cunning and devious hide Yullaba! Took a little while to nut that one out.
How very sad for the family that lost their daughter here in such tragic circumstances.

Found with geomum, our last find of a great caching day with the whole family. TFTC!
#5220 On a very hot day the water was looking mighty inviting but there was caching duties to be done. With bovine muggles looking on the very well camo'd container was soon discovered - another nice Yullaba hide. Very sad to learn of the tragedy that had occurred here, how fragile our lives are. Our thanks to Yullaba for the cache and series. Cheers [^]
What a tragedy the drowning of such an advenurous girl must have been for the Community! TFTC and the inclusion if so much local history.
# 3170. Robmc and I are spending a few days at Moama in the lead-up to the Anzac Day event on Thursday. Today we are heading eastwards and elsewhere to get some out of the way caches.
I had read this cache page a long time ago and thought how easily things can turn to tragedy.
Rob found the sneaky hide in the second place we looked. Have seen this hide only rarely before. TFTC

A lazy afternoon spent east of Echuca with Bettyboo3747.
Horrible story of the girl caught in the drum net - easy to see how it could happen.
Nice hide though. Must admit we checked out another object first.
Thanks, Robmc.

Tragic story, though a beautifully camouflaged cache. Thanks for an excellent hide.
This was the first of 25 we have planned today.A good one to get us started.TFTC
What a tragedy! The channels are certainly full today. SL at 12.54pm. No 3. done and dusted. #1478

what fun children must have had in the channels on the hot days.

Another clever hide though I have seen one like this before it almost got us as both gypsyjj and I were led astray by high tech gizzmos. TFTC Yullabe
Nice little hide for this cache. So much water is getting moved around. TFTC
Found on a nice sunny day. Just dropped off Lostmonster at the Start of the Kelly Country Classic Bike ride. I wasn't going to sit there and wait for a couple of hours, so I took the advantage to do a few caches in the area. Arrived at GZ thinking about that poor young girl. You hear of so many drowings in these types of channels. The channel was very full today. The coordinates took me straight to the cache....cheers to Yaullaba for bringing Co. here
Found this cache back in June but realized in August that I hadn't logged it yet, still remember finding it though cause as PaddyJak said in her log we followed a fire truck racing up the road to a nearby fire! TFTC
found but had to follow the fire truck as it was racing up the same road to attend a fire luckily the spot we were looking for was just before the fire zone so quickly grabbed the cache and retreated from the scene
I was heading up to Cobram / Tocumwal on the border to visit family and friends for a few days and checked out the caches along the route I was going to take this time round. Spotted a few unfound caches and a good run of trads in the Toolangi Black Range State Forest so decided that spot would be my first stop along the way, before heading on up through Yea and Shep before doing the Invergordon caches.
I love driving around the coutryside doing these rural hides, you get to see so much and most of the time these not a soul about when you arrive at the cache.
A sad story. Cache found quickly and log signed.
Thanks Yullaba.
