This evening, the plan was to meet weredunn4 at Onkaparinga River National Park, and walk down to the gorge/Punchbowl. I had been there previously with jesswrigley back in March, but today at the start of winter, it had quite a different feel, with water / the river rushing through the gap. There were also many mobs of kangaroos leisurely feeding at dusk.
Prior to our hike, I had a little time spare, and so decided to find a few geocaches in Morphett Vale and Woodcroft on route. A nice sunny afternoon to be outside.
With some remaining time left around the area, I decided to walk this section of the Tom Roberts Horse Trail. There were no active caches along here, but some archived caches that I thought may still be here that weren't retrieved. As it turned out, I think they were all cleared following their archived status, which was good to see. So no cache here. Thanks anyway bregor.

A great Sunday for a walk, so we decided to head out and visit a part of Adelaide we haven't been to before. We made a small loop and collected a few geocaches on the way. Find six of 8 today. TNLNSL TFTC
**this is a late log** I have recently made a major upgrade to my GSAK license and found this lovely feature that automatically tells me what caches I have marked found in GSAK but never logged on geocaching.com!! Yay, Clyde, you can have my money anytime! The caches I am logging in this batch were ones I did in 2016. I cache with an assortment of cachers and never alone. In 2016 I cached with Moneydork, Ride the GeoWalrus, Locus Cacher, Liz & Bruce and Team Zouk. My log should match up with one of theirs. I enjoy every cache find I have made and do not for one second take for granted the effort going into each one, its just I'm very bad at logging my finds and I'm trying to improve. To improve I have to reduce the quality of my log and just get it over with -- for now. If I can form a good habit again I will return to my once more meaningful logging. Thanks heaps for hiding caches around South Australia that I could find!
No kangaroos today, but an easy find for my 5 year old as I was looking in the wrong spot! TFTC
The family of roos still here, I think they have gone forth and multiplied, could be called a tribe or a mob now. Thanks for getting me out here.
Thanks for the band aid. Geo son fell and cut his arm and we put it to good use !!
Went on a loop of the Tom Roberts Horse Trail today, to find a few geocaches hidden by bregor. This was my first find on this trip. I must say I like the snap lock containers soooo much better than the bison tubes. Easier to find, and there are always goodies inside to swap if you so desire.

Went the wrong place to start then looked around and used caching sense.
Lovely day but cool.
Caught out by another cacher finding a couple of quick ones.

Beautiful area. Nice walk along this trail. The paper log is pretty much full now but we managed to squeeze our details on there.
Many muggle kangaroos around. Scared the crap out of me because the all bounded off as I stopped jogging when I head the GZ approach chime. Log is full! Tftc!
3 kangaroos today - 2 on one side of the fence & the big one on my side, trying to get to the other side, which he eventually did (over the quite high fence)! TFTC.
Under the watchful eye of the resident roos we found our target. Lovey spot. Great hide. TFTC♡
I've had two girlfriends names Nicole, neither of them were Nicole Kidman. Interestingly though, they were both born on the 3rd of March. Neither were in to horses.
We went through here a couple of hours ago but decided not to log it because of the fungus growing on it - we were eating. When we returned, the cache had been uncovered... interesting no log has been written, though. We used sticks to pull the cache from its position, but decided not to enter into it further because we don't know exactly how poisonous the fungus is... it is certainly very smelly!! We covered it back up properly, but the cache needs a good clean or replacement or relocation.

Quick find. There is some sort of white fungus growing below the cache and actually onto the cache box, anchoring it there. Interesting!
It was a cloudy day today so our GPS was not as accurate as it could be. So we had two attempts at this and were successful on the second attempt. This was a lovely walk.
Forgot to log when found.
We were certainly being watched heading to the cache, would have been around 50 odd kangaroos

Kangaroos watched on in anticipation of the find

Needs a new logbook. Spent a lovely day geocaching with geomum. Nice and easy one to start with. Thank you bregor for your caches today
With earthlight joining us for the day we head down south to grab a few caches, with the sun not far away from setting i get the geowife to go around the corner in the car and wait for us to return as we make our way through here, all caches were easily found and near the end there were lots of roos heading out. TFTC
This was the last stop on the route, overall it was a cold walk to begin with but once we got going, we warmed up and the are all easy to find if you know where to look! to finish off we had the kangaroos looking at me as we found the last cache. So thanks for all the caches!
Love the explanation of the cache name. Even the not so senior have the odd senior moment haha. Left a crayfish and took a donkey. Yet another walking spot tucked away in this great area that has now been revealed to us. Thanks Bregor. Tftc
Karopi's Great Backlog Afternoon
Oh dear! I am a disgrace.
I knew I had a few caches to log from past excursions with Sylken but I didn't think I was quite this bad! (well I might have had a sneaking suspicion and a goodly dose of denial going on related to the "snowball effect" procrastination syndrome I suffer from) but now it's time to get with the program and fix the issue.
With the help of my calendar, "save for later" logs in my iPhone, Sylken's found caches page to remind me of joint caching excursions, and the freshly rediscovered lists of "found caches" supplied to me by geomum at the end of every excursion which were safely filed in my tax receipts folder, because where else should one store such lists really??? (Hence their recent re-discovery and now the embarrassed action plan to attempt to redeem myself!) I am now FINALLY back-logging!
Since some are event caches and have no doubt been archived I'm not even sure I'll be able to log them all sadly with carbon copies of this message, since to get on top of all these without the helping hand of Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V would send me right back to that snowball procrastination issue!
To the cache owners/event organisers - please forgive my tardiness, and if you want to discount/delete my log, I completely understand. It serves me right for not being better organised, and listening to my mum when she [s]nagged[/s]reminded me to log my caches before!
For all your hard work and effort in hiding caches/organising events I really am truly grateful - my OCD nature wouldn't let me log my caches out of order, so once the first big block of unlogged caches was combined with the second and the job got bigger and bigger.... well you get the drift!

As a special Mother's Day treat our two geodaughters (Karopi and Team J@M) took geohubby and I on a picnic lunch and geocaching foray in the southern area. We found twelve caches in total and had some lovely walks in the Onkaparinga River Nat. Park and on the Tom Roberts Horse Trail.
We were spoilt with a champagne picnic lunch in the warm sunshine and have 12 new smileys on the map.
We decided to do this trail as a leisurely way to spend some time in the afternoon after the more vigorous trails we did in the national park in the morning. As it turned out several of the log books were completely full. Between us and our geodaughters we managed to scrape up enough spare new log books or log sheets as required. This cache did not require a new log book.
Many thanks for this most enjoyable trail of caches bregor, we thoroughly enjoyed it. [^]

Spent all of the Australia Day public holiday inside avoiding the heat, and decided late in the afternoon that I needed to get out for a while...so what better activity than to go and grab a few caches.
Even though it was still 37 degrees I had decided to walk the Tom Roberts horse trail and collect the caches along there...I needed the exercise and I was well prepared!!
Enjoyed walking this trail, up hill and down dale with a few stops along the way. Was watching vigilantly for snakes but didn't see anything on the ground, maybe it was even too hot for them...thankfully. Did see a koala climbing up a tree, but that was the only wildlife around today. Maybe all sensible animals were sheltering from the heat. [?] [?]

Out caching with CPWanderer and Sarni Girl. We saw some kangaroos on this track. TFTC Bregor
Found on a great little wander with Ismartis and Sarni Girl!!! Thanks bregor for the hide!!!
Found whilst on a walk in this lovely area. Very green with lots of wildflowers at the moment. TFTC.
Found in the fading light after completing a hike in the Onkaparinga Gorge. Thanks for the cache bregor!
...and here's me wandering along mulling over why Tom and Nicole are on this trail...
Thanks for the cache, bregor

This was the seventh cache we found here today. Seventh of ten for the morning, actually!
Was nice to go off track and into some grassed area for a bit as it was really muddy on arrival.
We walked right to the end of the trail, finding each cache along the trail as we walked. Got some great photos, had some decent exercise trudging through mud, water and over fallen trees. Beautiful, long, scenic walk which we will have to return and do again at some stage. TFTC bregor, another great hide!

Had poor reception and took a while to find the spot. Started the horse trail last week and came back to finish it this week. TFTC!
Quite a few hairy muggles (kangaroos) in the area including one on the trail who escort geodad and I back to our car. TFTC bregor.
The first of this little series today, found by coming in from both ends [8]!
TNLNSL.
Thanks again Bregor.

This is not about the hide If feel it is about the journey, a easy find on a wonderful walk.SL.TFTC.
A nice easy find at the end of a long day's caching, glad to get a few easier caches at the end of the day. Nice trail, never knew it existed

Sioux found this one I was way out. I had to get hot and cold from Sioux before I found it.
We were watched by a mob of kangaroos along this part of the trail. Nice walk. TFTC!
A nice walk on a lovely fathers day to find this cache. Thanks very much. Watch out for ants.
We were planning on collecting all the caches along this nice trail today, but rain made sure we only got to log two of them. [:(!] Cache was found quickly, and was all nice and dry inside, unlike the soggy trail that led to it.
Thanks bregor.
Thanks bregor.
Number 2 of the trail.. Kangaroos watching us... Geogirls loved seeing them...

Stumbled across this one even tho the GPS is way off today! Lucky I had my Geo Eyes on! TFTC
Nice easy find by GeoKid. Watched the kangaroos while filling in the logbook.
Got a bit wet but enjoyed the walk along the trail with Menzepplin on our day off from Uni.
Last find for the day. Time to hike back up the hill! Thanks for series!

Found it ! But no trackable I think someone found it earlier today ! Oh well . Nice walk down here
The first cache on a leisurely walk punctuated by birds, kangaroos and me puffing up the odd hill. A top series of caches that I thoroughly enjoyed doing on a beautiful ANZAC Day. Thanks so much for taking the time to hide the caches. The family helped find this one and then returned to the car, leaving me to find the rest of the series.
