This evening, the plan was to meet weredunn4 at Onkaparinga River National Park, and walk down to the gorge/Punchbowl. I had been there previously with jesswrigley back in March, but today at the start of winter, it had quite a different feel, with water / the river rushing through the gap. There were also many mobs of kangaroos leisurely feeding at dusk.
Prior to our hike, I had a little time spare, and so decided to find a few geocaches in Morphett Vale and Woodcroft on route. A nice sunny afternoon to be outside.
With some remaining time left around the area, I decided to walk this section of the Tom Roberts Horse Trail. There were no active caches along here, but some archived caches that I thought may still be here that weren't retrieved. As it turned out, I think they were all cleared following their archived status, which was good to see. So no cache here. Thanks anyway bregor.

Decided to get the first cache and it then turned into the next and than the next, and the next and the next etc. Longish walk in hilly terrain for these aging legs and heart.

A great Sunday for a walk, so we decided to head out and visit a part of Adelaide we haven't been to before. We made a small loop and collected a few geocaches on the way. Find three of 8 today. TNLNSL TFTC
**this is a late log** I have recently made a major upgrade to my GSAK license and found this lovely feature that automatically tells me what caches I have marked found in GSAK but never logged on geocaching.com!! Yay, Clyde, you can have my money anytime! The caches I am logging in this batch were ones I did in 2016. I cache with an assortment of cachers and never alone. In 2016 I cached with Moneydork, Ride the GeoWalrus, Locus Cacher, Liz & Bruce and Team Zouk. My log should match up with one of theirs. I enjoy every cache find I have made and do not for one second take for granted the effort going into each one, its just I'm very bad at logging my finds and I'm trying to improve. To improve I have to reduce the quality of my log and just get it over with -- for now. If I can form a good habit again I will return to my once more meaningful logging. Thanks heaps for hiding caches around South Australia that I could find!
The soursops are bugging me today!
Making it twice as hard to find, big mob of wallabies just moved off . . . Thanks for the hide.

Went on a loop of the Tom Roberts Horse Trail today, to find a few geocaches hidden by bregor. This was my fourth find on this trip, and one of the easier ones. Love the regular size containers! So much better than small and (in particular) those annoying micro containers.

Found while waiting for dog to have his haircut nearby. Hot day with plenty of flys. TFTC.
Cache was out in the open. Hid it away best it could where I found it but this one might need a check to make sure it's where the owner intended it to be. Tftc!
Love a cache where it's right where the description and coordinates put it. Thanks for the walk.
Continuing along the horse trail geocaching with the ratbags... interesting conversation about the lyrical content of popular music... found the cache... quite a debate about who was going to write in the log book '...and why am I still holding your can??' LOL see pic
What are the blobs of pink stuff in the adjoining paddock? Weed spray marking? Slime mold? Bubble bath? There's about twenty or thirty patches scattered across the hillside. Curious.
Out for the day to finish off this little trail, nice walk from start to finish and wasn't even going to let a bit of rain stop me. Few big roos spotted along the trail.
All caches are in good condition. Thanks bregor for a nice stroll in an area I would never have known existed.

Although I think we made up a track of our own we still found this cache. Bush bashing all the way!
Finished the whole little track along here in a lovely afternoon. Took a little searching around and avoiding the many ant nests but it was a good day caching. Thanks bregor
With earthlight joining us for the day we head down south to grab a few caches, with the sun not far away from setting i get the geowife to go around the corner in the car and wait for us to return as we make our way through here, all caches were easily found and near the end there were lots of roos heading out. TFTC
third find for the day. Enjoyed the uphill stroll. Need new log book, TFTC!: )
Check the photo, it scared the poop out of mrs kookacrew as she almost stood on it, but it was very polite and let us take a few photos. Haven't seen a sleepy lizard for a while. Good hide Bregor. Tftc
Karopi's Great Backlog Afternoon
Oh dear! I am a disgrace.
I knew I had a few caches to log from past excursions with Sylken but I didn't think I was quite this bad! (well I might have had a sneaking suspicion and a goodly dose of denial going on related to the "snowball effect" procrastination syndrome I suffer from) but now it's time to get with the program and fix the issue.
With the help of my calendar, "save for later" logs in my iPhone, Sylken's found caches page to remind me of joint caching excursions, and the freshly rediscovered lists of "found caches" supplied to me by geomum at the end of every excursion which were safely filed in my tax receipts folder, because where else should one store such lists really??? (Hence their recent re-discovery and now the embarrassed action plan to attempt to redeem myself!) I am now FINALLY back-logging!
Since some are event caches and have no doubt been archived I'm not even sure I'll be able to log them all sadly with carbon copies of this message, since to get on top of all these without the helping hand of Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V would send me right back to that snowball procrastination issue!
To the cache owners/event organisers - please forgive my tardiness, and if you want to discount/delete my log, I completely understand. It serves me right for not being better organised, and listening to my mum when she [s]nagged[/s]reminded me to log my caches before!
For all your hard work and effort in hiding caches/organising events I really am truly grateful - my OCD nature wouldn't let me log my caches out of order, so once the first big block of unlogged caches was combined with the second and the job got bigger and bigger.... well you get the drift!

As a special Mother's Day treat our two geodaughters (Karopi and Team J@M) took geohubby and I on a picnic lunch and geocaching foray in the southern area. We found twelve caches in total and had some lovely walks in the Onkaparinga River Nat. Park and on the Tom Roberts Horse Trail.
We were spoilt with a champagne picnic lunch in the warm sunshine and have 12 new smileys on the map.
We decided to do this trail as a leisurely way to spend some time in the afternoon after the more vigorous trails we did in the national park in the morning. As it turned out several of the log books were completely full. Between us and our geodaughters we managed to scrape up enough spare new log books or log sheets as required. The back pages of the log sheet were mostly blank so no new log sheets required here. We picked up the large TB to move it on shortly.
Many thanks for this most enjoyable trail of caches bregor, we thoroughly enjoyed it. [^]

Out for a walk with geowife and geodog on this lovely morning! TFTC Needs a new logbook.
Spent all of the Australia Day public holiday inside avoiding the heat, and decided late in the afternoon that I needed to get out for a while...so what better activity than to go and grab a few caches.
Even though it was still 37 degrees I had decided to walk the Tom Roberts horse trail and collect the caches along there...I needed the exercise and I was well prepared!!
Enjoyed walking this trail, up hill and down dale with a few stops along the way. Was watching vigilantly for snakes but didn't see anything on the ground, maybe it was even too hot for them...thankfully. Did see a koala climbing up a tree, but that was the only wildlife around today. Maybe all sensible animals were sheltering from the heat. [?] [?] Had nearly arrived at GZ when I spotted the koala.
Thanks for the cache and the exercise bregor.

Out caching with CPWanderer and Sarni Girl. An enjoyable walk along this trail and a few kangaroos. TFTC Bregor.
Found whilst on a walk in this lovely area. Very green with lots of wildflowers at the moment. TFTC.
Found in the fading light after completing a hike in the Onkaparinga Gorge. Thanks for the cache bregor!
This was the third cache we found here today. Third of ten for the morning, actually!
Had fun with this one actually, all the clover covering everything made things pretty hard, but I think we made it harder on ourselves than necessary haha.
We walked right to the end of the trail, finding each cache along the trail as we walked. Got some great photos, had some decent exercise trudging through mud, water and over fallen trees. Beautiful, long, scenic walk which we will have to return and do again at some stage. TFTC bregor, another great hide!

Kept getting bad coordinates and looking in the wrong spot. Geo son made a good find though.
Thanks for the cache hide.
Enjoying my tour around the area, from cache to cache.

A quick find thanks to the hint. We could hear a motorcycle not far from us, and was hoping it wasn't a local farmer. We were not in the mood to be treated as suspected arsonists as has happened before in this neck of the woods.
Thanks bregor.
Thanks bregor.
A nice walk on a lovely fathers day to find this cache. Thanks very much. Watch out for baby cows.
Finally back this afternoon to finish this little series of caches [^]

Got a bit wet but enjoyed the walk along the trail with Menzepplin on our day off from Uni.
Hard work searching for this one with an umbrella. Thanks for series!

The first cache on a leisurely walk punctuated by birds, kangaroos and me puffing up the odd hill. A top series of caches that I thoroughly enjoyed doing on a beautiful ANZAC Day. Thanks so much for taking the time to hide the caches. All well hidden caches.
We walked and jogged this loop in double time on Friday evening - we had places to be. Thankfully a local mob of roos showed us the route and all the caches were reasonably straight forward to find.

Third for the day and a nothe quick find. This is a very nice walk and great to have it broken up by caches. Signed log and left a pathtag for the next finder. Thanks for the hunt, bregor.
Onward I go...
Disturbed about 10 roos as I approached gz. Some of them were massive!

Quick find plenty of kangaroos around this evening, they certainly had geodog's attention, TFTC
The kangaroos were staring at us as we went about our business, obviously thing what are these weirdos up to in our scrub? LOL they weren't scared that's for sure.. tftc
