Found It!A nice little walk and a quick find. Didn't see any emus here today.TFTC
Couldn’t actually see the emus, but found the cache and a couple of king parrots thank you
Found after a hurried search at dusk that included a sloppy and slippery shuffle across the grass and via the ancient emus. Found the cache cosy and dry under its rock. Took the skeleton TB to move on. Thanks for the hide.

Decided to try this cache on my way up the mountains after grabbing a few around Springwood. Pleasantly surprised with the views from this interesting little park.
After a day at Katoomba and Blackheath, MrT suggested a detour to here. Found the Emus and a few live birds too. I let MrT do the scramble and caching duties while I birdwatched! Signed log and returned as found. TFTC
Out with Geofam caching this morning and really enjoyed the rock shelf and emu carvings. Thanks Pandsa for showing us this local piece of history.

Places like this is why I love caching. favourite point for highlighting an interesting area of the bluies. I was caching with a muggle today, she was fascinated by the rock shelf, had lived in a nearby suburb for 20 years without knowing it or the carvings were here. tftc pandsa
Great spot to visit. So close to home and completely unknown to us. Found by geoJaz. Giving a favourite point for general location. Thanks for sharing.
Tftc - checked out the site which was interesting for the 8 year old. Wandered down to GZ did what was required. Standing on the ledge, my son said he saw black shapes running around in the valley below, all I heard was some rustling and twig breaks........ we left
I heard about this location from a high school friend of mine and just had to check it out. What amazing history. It's interesting to think about what life used to be like 22,000 years ago.
The cache was further down than I anticipated and I kind of made my own path both down and back. As a previous resident and bushwalker of the mountains I wasn't too worried.
The cache is in excellent condition. Thank you so much for bringing us here.

Took a while, as we checked all the broken rocks next to several burnt trees. Finally saw the telltale signs and soon had CIH. Almost exactly 12 months since the last find. TFTC
Another bit of local history that I knew nothing about till a cache brought me here. Found two of the three emus, and the cache. SL TFTC pandsa
I had run into a spot of trouble on a difficult multi cache, and was running out of time to find a cache. This was the closest (not that close though) quick to reach cache.
It was a nice little place hidden behind the houses. I will have to return with my camera some day.
Thanks for the cache.

Liked this one. Interesting carvings. Took tough way to cache, found easy way on the way back. Fav point.Tftc
On our way back home to Sydney after a night in Katoomba we stopped at this location. Walked down to GZ, no crawling creatures was found - but the cache was there. Signed the log and dropped TB The Travel Turtle.
At last I have got around to find one of pandsa's caches. I have visited this park a few times but somehow each visit was without geocaching info and GPS. It is a lovely park to visit. TFTC
I swear, the last times we were here, it was not over there, it was more over there and further down there, so today was an easy find.
Iker and myself took off into the park and down the hill to find this one. When I saw the rock formations I was happy - I love climbing around between them. It wasn't long before we made the find. TFTC.
We were greeted by many dogs on our way and one followed us to GZ. What a nice spot. TFTC. TNLN.
Yay. Let the little dude find this one. A nice challenge. The hint was very useful.
What a nice spot, somewhere you would never know about unless you were a local. TFTC
Our first find! My friend and I thought we'd never find it.
Such a cool spot! Thanks heaps.

I am writing this while the geokids are still hunting for it. I can see it and am wondering how long before they spot it
A nice hide. On a beautiful day
Took the geo family on a small detour to do this one.
Found the GZ and let the kids look. They looked in all the obvious places and came up empty. Some good decoys. Then they looked around a little and found it.

found with Alnic39 and Lachnic62. And I also found the emu when everyone else just walked over it.
I was really impressed to see the emu engraving. Found the cache easy enough and returned it OK after signing the log. TFTC pandsa
Great location and interesting history. Spitting with rain when we arrived and soon pouring with thunder and lightening. Found the spot and the cache with much hilarity as we all got absolutely soaked ! TFTC
Nice day out geocaching with the visiting geonephews, MB90961 and bs8491. Interesting place I had visited previously. Reasonably quick find.
Having the offer of a lift south (west) meant I was able to get a few caches I normally wouldn't be able to get to. Like Cookie, I thought I would be bobbing up and down, picking up rubbish on the way to the cache, and in the end didn't even see the elusive emus.
All good with the cache.

Good coordinates, and dry rock under foot made it a quick find.

This was a very quick find...after negotiating the puddles and small waterfalls that had formed up with the rain that was going on. Great area here and would like to come back in better weather to see the carvings. tftc
My sixth find whilst out for the day with Mel_Adz.
I've been to this park before once. We came here with Uni to look at the rock paintings. Due to the rain, rock paintings weren't very visible today. However the rocks did present a nice series of water flows and falls which were quite pleasant.

Set out early this morning with Jfindit to attempt a few caches in a different area than one we are familiar with this being the lower blue mountains area, this is a great spot with many challenging cache types as well as terrain and difficulty ratings, we had a great day and would recommend the area to anyone who is prepared to test themselves in all environments. tftc pandsa
xPhenoms and I ventured south this morning 4:30am “grumble grumble” in the trusty Mitsubishi Geowagon down the thin black line to Penrith and then onwards to the Blue Mountains ie Glenbrook, Blaxland, Springwood. For day two of a two day trip. Great cache. TFTC
really enjoyed this spot, lots of chainsaws around with people trimming the bush.
Made a quickish find after scrambling around on the rocks.

13:30 Very nice discovery. Thanks for bringing us here, really enjoyed it. Grtz from Belgium!
Can't understand where engravings are supposed to be....So many rocks and cliffs and what is the rock shelf? Found cache, now to have another go at the engravings....
Was so busy looking for the cache I didn't see the emu at first. Quick find an then I enjoyed the surrounds. TFTC
Enjoyed revisiting this spot.
Gz was not difficult to find, enjoyed the rocks.

Stumbled down up and over for a find ........as a bonus also found the emu's, thanks for leading us out to this spot pandsa
A simple amble and slide down to GZ, and it was soon cih. We must have frightened off the emus, because we saw none....thanks pandsa
Neighbours were out on their balcony, but didn't pay much mind. I knew the previous owners, so had seen the emus before. Still, it was good to return. The views are lovely, and after a quick descent, I had the cache. Thanks pandsa.
TFTC,
Stayed overnight and spent some time showing a group of trackables aroung the local area. We were very impressed with the engravings. The rain had filled the groves and the sunlight was enough to show them well. I hope the trackable owners all visit the web sites to learn more. Picked up a pathtag.

At last I decided to come to this place, until now I had no idea that this special spot existed and it proved very rewarding.
I just loved the emu engravings, quite easy to imagine this place as it was before it got built on.
Got to GZ with no problem and found the coords quite accurate, I spotted the likely hiding place and found the container, signed log and left my signature Pathtag.
Thank you for showing me this great park.

A descent remniscient of other caches I've done recently. Nice carvings, there also seemed to be some 'new' engravings which is unfortunate to see.

with my geodad and geobro enjoyed the carvings, one of the locals showed us around. TFTC.
Found the Platypus, Emu, Kookaburra and Kangaroo carvings, saw where spears were sharpenned and made. The last rock has a circular tube wear mark easy to distinguish. Thanks for taking me and my two geo-sons to this spot. Cache was a good hide too. TFTC.
What another great area in the mountains. I never knew these carvings were here and I look forward to bringing the kids back to show them some local history.
This was myself and dare by brooke second find for the day.

Found with A Mad coin on a morning of caching that ended up being most of the day
Parked at the given spot and wandered over to the expansive rock platforms where we wandered about for a bit locating the emus. Always interesting to see these sort of things. The bloke who carved the emu closest to the cache needs to go back to class we think to re-do the proportions module but it was at lease recognizable. Thence a short wander through the bush to the cache. Nice spot - thanks for showing it to us.
bugger i have signed all caches today as the 24th , oooopps, oh well
anyway great spot for a cache ! a true mountains cache boy oh boy there was some water going over the rocks today, with the rain the ground must be full !!
found the cache in the second spot i looked after getting a 3steep angle change at GZ, thanx for the cache , nice work, first for today

Heading over the mountains before we headed off to the mega, we had time for a couple of caches.
After a short walk we were at GZ and the cache was soon in hand.

I may have being in a rush or the water soaked area but I didn't see any emus. But I was more concerned about not slipping over as everything was wet and slippery from the rain in the past week. It didn't take too long to arrived at GZ to have a quick search and find the hide. Very neat hide and nice views into the valleys. TNLNSL TFTC.
I had more than an hour free this afternoon -- and it seems to have stopped raining for a while here in the Blue Mountains -- so I headed east down the GWH from Leura to visit this very interesting spot, in the northern part of Faulconbridge.
Of course, I invited Mrs. pjmpjm along, because she loves Aboriginal sites of all kinds, but she was busy working with her editor to publish her new book -- so I was left to go it alone.
I quickly found the best parking spot at the very end of Jeffs Road and immediately saw the short, grassy pathway to the rocky shelf, just beyond the 'Ticehurst Park' sign. You won't have any difficulties in discovering the correct entry between the houses for this one, although it takes some 'learning to see' in order to decipher the 'Emu Hunt' petroglyphs themselves. At first, you may not know exactly what you're looking for . . .
Despite the brightly shining sun, the remains of the recent heavy rains were still washing across the site, making everything somewhat slippery. But I easily found a little pathway down a crack at the far southern end of the shelf, and with a hop, skip and maybe a very small jump was soon at GZ. The CO's clue and accurate coords make it an easy find, although the cache container is actually very well hidden indeed. But most geocachers will observe the tell-tale signs.
All was in good order, nice and dry. Lots of nice swaps still available! TNLNSL.
Back up at the rocky shelf, I took more photos but am not sure how well they'll turn out. Anyhow, this is a nice place to visit, with pleasant views across the valley. Absolutely no-one was around Ticehurst Park today, but a couple of local dogs finally realised that I was there and started barking at me over the fences.
Many thanks to pandsa for another Blue Mountains geocache. Recommended!

This was the last of three today, done on our way back from Leura. We were lucky because we managed to find the cache and have a look at the rock carvings in between bouts of rain. The rocks were very slippery and treacherous, so we took it slow down to the cache for a nice easy find. We spent a bit of time looking for the emus on he rocks afterwards. They were a bit hard to find with the water streaming over the rocks. We took waypoints for each of the emus.

Our last cache for the day. This was actually the closest to home, but as it was easier to access the road from the other direction, we left it to the end to do on our way home.
I'd no idea this was here, but that's one of the great things about geocaching, getting to find out about places like this.
We looked for the rock carvings first, but couldn't spot them. So we headed off to GZ & bikerbuddy soon had the cache in hand. Cache replaced, we went back to hunt the emus again, this time using the iPhone to access the sketch map of the area. It is easier if you have the map in front of you!
This time we found Emu 3, the easiest to spot. After that we noticed that the sketch map had waypoints & used them to track down Emu 1 & 2. The coordinates given on the map weren't great, but bikerbuddy took some better ones & I think he is planning on adding them to his log.
Thanks
