Logs
Apologies for the late log, we have just come back from a 10 day holiday in SA and Western Vic and spent as much time with family as possible so no time for logging lolWe are on holidays in SA and have spent the past 4 days catching up with JMelbs family in Adelaide (and only found 2 caches during those 4 days!! Thats despite hunting for a few more lol) Today we checked out of our accommodation with the intention of finding some local caches then some of the Wandering Heroes caches on the way to Karoondah, our destination for the night. This was a targeted cache for the day on the "way out" of Adelaide. We had attempted to find this cache on our last holiday to SA in July '23 to no avail and thought we were thwarted again as when we arrived to near GZ there were 2 people opposite staring this way! Darn it.... oh well we set off to the next one and I sent a complaining message to geo-friends back home who immediately replied noooooooo - dont worry about them - you need to do "this" and then you will find GZ. So after finding a couple more in the area we now were, we headed back here and went to the correct spot and GMelb soon had the cache in hand. There is a kind of clue on the cache page which in hindsight we can see helps you identify this lol TFTC SneakySqueaky - GJMMelb
Great HideThanks SneakySqueaky for the cacheJames0116Saturday, 28 Sep 20245:33:28PM ACST4910
A little post work stress relief, prior to the first of this years State Of Origin matches on tonight Quickly found tonight and log stamped.nice cache and hide, warrants another favourite point TFTC
Thanks SneakySqueaky for this cache. More to it than first meets the eye. Thanks InvisibleNinja for the paf.
Having found a couple like this before, it was a definite DOH moment when a PAF gave us the four words we needed to make this find. Thanks for placing this cache for all to enjoy.
Geoturtle37, OzHockeyChick, RoamingHowie and myself are out picking up some selected caches before we all have to go our separate ways.We searched and looked and searched some more. It was only after a PAF gave us a 4 word hint that we realised our error. Thanks for placing the cache for us to find.
Adelaide day four: Teamed up with RoamingHowie, Papi4506 & Geoturtle37 to find some caches of interest. Well, didn't this take some time! We searched all over the place before eventually resorting to a PAF, who said just one word, and we face-palmed at the same time. Doh!! How silly are we?The cache was then soon discovered. Another fav point heading your way. Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, SneakySqueaky ~~
Day #12 Leaping Forward AdventuresOne last day of local adventures with OzHockeyChick, GeoTurtle37 and Papi4506. Exploring targeted caches, favourites, D/T and others.I tried this cache a few days ago but bailed as there were muggles working nearby. If only I knew then what I know now. Sneaky! Thanks SneakySqueaky for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy. ----------------------------------------------------------The Ballarat GeoTour ends on 4 March 2024! Be sure to find all the caches and earn the souvenir before the tour is archived. There are plenty to choose from including all of the previous nominees and winners of the Victorian Cache of the Year Awards.
This had us fooled for quite some time. Up roll some friendly Victorians and suddenly we were all over it. Sneaky, nasty, evil and clever! Thanks SneakySqueakyThe usual trio of myself, stainless steel rat and Budgietas was joined by Tassie Trekkers for The Great Leap Forward trip. We decided to cache down south around Goolwa, Victor Harbour and extended reaches for a few days, before basing ourselves in Glenelg for the second half of the trip where we cached around the city, the hills and the Barossa Valley with a highlight being a couple of hours on Adventure Island. Many thanks to the Mega Committee, all the helpers and many local COs who kept up busy and entertained. Most logs were stamped with Team Tassie.
The New Zealand ???? cachers, NZ_B, Mr-Mcgoo, Kiscardi and I joined together for a Great Leap Forward mission to tick as many BadgeGen boxes as we could for 29 Feb.Four of us spent quite some time searching reverting some funny looks from people that wanted to use the bus stop for real. One of the team managed to get a nudge and all was revealed.A clever cache. +FPTFTC
now we made a complete pigs ear of this one and it was only when other cachers turned and the penny dropped that we were on the way to GZ, when we were in the correct place it was a simple find in the end. This was the first trip to the mainland for this group of Tasmanians in a while, we flew over on the 24th and left early on the 3rd. With 4 days in Goolwa followed by 4 in Glenelg we managed to get some caching done in different areas and pull in a select list of caches we all almost all needed, old caches were on the list as normal but also some different D/Ts with some high fav pointed cache making up the remainder. The trip didn't start well with Qantus losing a bag which made us rearrange a couple of days but we got some 4WDing in and a even some driving on the beach to get a couple of different caches, boat trip to Adventure Island was a great start on the day of the Mega too.All caches were stamped "Team Tassie" which consisted of myself, gooseandegg, Budgietas and Tassie TrekkersFound on 29/02/2024 at 17:54:00 thanks to SneakySqueaky for placing this cache for me to find. Hmmm, we looked and looked but did need to ask for an extra hint and then saw something we had not realised. It wasnt long till we had the cache container hand.Today is the day: Mega day and leap day.Yabba dabba dooooo.Like everyone else Mr-Mcgoo, marchwood, kiscardi and I are travelling around Adelaide trying to find as many caches as possible to ensure we have the 29th addon appear on many of our Project-GC badges. And, of course, there will be lots of laughter as we do so.Huge thank you to all the COs who have placed the caches we find and log today. Some of the caches will be used to help me meet the challenging module (I need to find 400 caches with caches with a D/T of 2.5+/2.5+) for the [GC30AD8](http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC30AD8) DGSC Challenge (West Coast) challenge in NZ.Kia ora rawa atu for the cache SneakySqueaky.
Haha very sneaky - we enlisted some help from a previous finder and then it was a quick find. We figured why the locals have less trouble than us. Found with Mr McGoo Marchwood amd NZB
Find # 13786I'm in the Adelaide area for the Great Leap Forward event. Not just for the days event, but making it a week long trip of caching n catching up with mates.Found with sharkiefanSigned as FUSHDay 5. "The Great Leap Forward" day is here. Spending the day in the city ticking off a few lists of finds and enjoying all the mateship that comes with Geocaching. TFTC SneakySqueaky
Found with FUF009 and the blokes from Tasmania. Ooooh, this IS trisky. There are a couple like this in Melbourne. It still fooled us for quite some time. Tftc
Im visiting Adelaide for the first time, here for the Mega which is also my first, with Willis007. Im needing more Not Chosen caches for a couple of challenges and noticed this one so drove out here though did get caught in some school traffic. At first we were looking in the wrong area but once we changed direction, I soon found the well hidden cache. Tftc
Leap Day caching with Kolour. Our adventures this afternoon bought us out here. After a bit of a look around, I re-read a few things and suggested another approach. Kolour made the find! I was just talking about a similar cache in another state this morning. Fav from me. TFTC
Ohhhhhh. What a painDont want to say to much but the answer we said to ourselves a number of times until it hit us in the faceFavourite point givenToday was Leap day and we had some very specific plans to find certain cache types, cache sizes and other items to meet certain challenges. We spent the early morning on Adventure Island and then went on to the mega event. After leaving the mega event we went on to some caches in the north of Adelaide that helped with different challengesTFTC
Today is day 6 of our SA Great Leap Forward Mega adventure. Based at Goolwa, Mr T, Gooseandegg , Stainless-Steel-Rat and Budgietas concentrated on finding caches with appropriate D/T 's to fill their Fizzy Grids and this was one of them. We signed the log Team Tassie. We found a variety of hides with varying degrees of difficulty.Enjoyed caching in this area, cache and contents were in good condition. Many thanks to all CO's for your cache placement.
(9355) Today is the SA Mega. Went out to grab 11 different types of caches plus the different sizes. Out with NZ_B, Marchwood and Kiscardi. I certainly can see why local knowledge is useful. Signed the logs with either Mr-Mcgoo or WIN.Thanks SneakySqueaky for taking the time to place this and for bringing me here.
Was dropping by the supermarket with past finder bektheraccoon, she gave me a generous hint and I was able to find it without too much trouble. TFTC sneaky!
Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy. I had this cache on the list before we left home as it appeared to be a good challenge for us. I knew that I had more chance of ever finding it with barb2e as she can so often think outside the square. And Barb didn't disappoint. Admittedly, it did quite some time, but after reading logs, a new approach was made, and the general GZ was located. Then a random act confirmed we were on the right track, and I was fortunate enough to find the cache. The log has been signed, and the cache replaced as found. Second one today SneakySqueaky. Have another FP.
Day 4 of my escape to Adelaide with Smittengranny and collecting a few targeted caches and LGAs. Took a while to get the breadcrumbs correct but good to find. Tftc
So. Talk about frustrating!!But all my favourite caches have a highlight. This was a good one. But I did have to leave the GZ before I had an aha moment, putting it all together. Then just spotting the camouflage!TFTC
Day 5 SA!While half the team went to the zoo, we went chasing a few finds around Adelaide, concentrating on good DTs and cache types, and a Jasmer month or two. Jackets were on in the cold and damp! That was fun I spotted the spot and then missed it in front of my face!TFTC!!
#7161Arrived in Adelaide a few days ago but went straight to Kangaroo Island, but now were back in Adelaide for a few days picking off caches around. Had a great day getting jasmer grid caches, oldies, cool DTs and various other caches and types!Hah, sneaky! Quickie once we found GZ. TNLN SLThanks for placing and maintaining this cache SneakySqueaky!
This cache is still there. As you can see by the previous finders. Stupid generated message say my cache needs maintenance because some finders log DNF
Looks like this is going to become our new Adelaide nemisis cache (after finding Run Garry Run after our first attempt in 2018, then 2019, we finally found it this holiday) We spent about 15 mins but had to get back for lunch..... Next time!!
Ha! Okay, I’m really proud of myself for figuring out this one on the first try. Had to think pretty deeply about it!
TFTC!
TFTC!
After a year or two of Tring to work this on out, I finally had the time to head back and give it another shot. Love the GZ of this cache.

Talk about a great camo! Second time looking for it, asked jambochicken for another hint and it made so much sense. Have a good walk around of the area and notice the description is all I’ll say. TFTC.

Found it on 1st try after not being where expected with no local knowledge but using logic and
observation. Tftc

Yes, I admit... I was fooled by this one as well. Quite a while ago I spent some time exploring the area.... all to no avail.
Speaking to the Sneakmeister we happened to talk about this cache and suddenly it dawned.
Today I was across the road at Hula Hoop, so I couldn't resist to duck down and make the find that had eluded me in the past.
Tftc Sneakmeister
And yes, an FP is added

Finally after many attempts i found this one. Great cache, giving this one a favourite point. Cheers
Oh My Goodness! Can’t believe where this one was. Very very clever Sneaky Squeeky.
Thanks to Doctor Owl for the hint. Never would have found it without your help.

This was my second visit to GZ with SupaOrange and SupaTurtle. Clever clever clever. Thanks
I’ve been looking for this one for many years now. I first visited this with geodad way back in the day when I was 13 or 14. Now at nearly 21 I made the find with my trusty geodog this evening after waiting for the muggles to go. After the first couple of visits geodad and I had the right idea about where to look, it just took us/me another 5 or 6 visits to put my hands on the darn thing. TFTC SneakySqueaky.
This marks 900 cache finds for Aprikot, and what a find, took us way too long, needed that local knowledge and had it in hand in no time. Cheers cobber.
Thanks sneaky squeaky for this hide. I have spent countless hours at this bus stop just blending in. Nemesis gone. FP for you
The rain has gone, all too quickly, and it's time to jump on the bike to find the three caches needed to get me to the required 10 for the 21st. Today is day 24 of the 85 day mission.
I've visited GZ a number of times over the years and never found the cache. Today I was armed with additional knowledge provided by a previous finder and the cache was quickly located. Sneaky Squeaky. One less caching frustration to worry about, many to go.

After some help from a previous finder we returned today to search again! This time it was a successful hunt! The log was quickly retrieved, signed and the cache replaced before any muggles appeared. Thanks for a great hunt! Fave point for being so sneaky.
Found with Erine14 after help from a previous finder TFTC good one, had us fooled
Second time I’ve been here; second time with another experienced cacher... still no banana. Grrrr.... have put in about 3 hours so far
Wish I may, wish I might, no cache for us tonight. Failing light not helping at all. Have to try this one again.
Veni. Vidi. Vici. Scripsi.
This cache has been exasperating. How many times can you look at something and miss the critical element. I was meeting with a work colleague this morning,, who is also a well established cacher and inevitably, after work talk finished the talk got round to caching. I mentioned this one and he looked at me with big sad eyes and I knew what I was in for. The cache page was opened and I looked again for about the 100th time. Then the Doh moment hit and I knew what to do.
Went out on the lunchtime caching run and this was the last target on the list. Arrived at the site and wandered over to GZ but with a muggle sitting right at GZ it was impossible to search, so abandoned the search. Decided to have another look on the way home. Parked nearby, wandered to GZ and not a muggle in sight, and spotted the cache immediately, and took it back to the car to sign the log as a muggle approached. Signed the log and as the muggle disappeared, replaced the cache in its clever, blended in hide. Definitely worth a favourite, for both the frustration of the search and relief at the find, and for the inventiveness of the hide.

Another day at uni and another day finding a few caches on the way home. This included some caches that had given me some trouble in the past so it was good to get them ticked off the too find list. A plesent afternoon for caching.

Nemesis cache! I’ve been here at least 5 times. Knowing this was a super sneaky hide I never logged a DNF.
Today I found myself in the area after business hours so I decided to have another crack. I read some past logs and then had another read of the cache description. Shortly after the light bulb moment occurred.
With a deserted GZ, I was able to thoroughly search which eventually resulted in a cache. A very satisfying find to put this one to bed.
Thanks for the cache.

I think today was my fourth visit here. First visit epic dnf had no ideas and felt dumb. Second time too many cars. Third time a baby bird had fallen from its nest just where I wanted to look so its pesky parents were swooping on me to protect their chick so I retreated.
Today at 7pm on a Sunday evening was a perfect time to search. Had a light bulb moment when I re read the cache description and a short time later had the nice cache in hand.
Thanks for this one it has been a nemesis for a while now.

After a DNF last year - I managed to snaffle a hint at the event today. Ah - OK - I hadn't looked there had I! So back after the event, to make a quick find. Thanks SS.
Found with Beary Organised after a hint from CO. Glad to get a smilie here at last. TFTC TNLNSL
After many attempts CherryRose and I finally found it with a hint from the CO. We had been looking in the right place all the time but had many obstacles (cars) that were always hampering us. Tonight was our night. TFTC TNLNSL A Favourite Point from me.
Returned today armed with a hint but alas it was another dnf. Will return one evening in the hope of a better search environment TFTH
Day 2, back in South Australia, on a caching mission, and spending some time at the sites. Tftc.

After 45 mins of determination we gave in to the warmth of the car, and will await a PAF from the caching group to see if we can master this one later
After a good 40-45min of head scratching and searching we came up empty handed. Not giving up. But need some space to rethink and reconsider...
Thank you for the hour i will never get back What a challenging hunt! Once we had the local knowledge in hand this was a relatively easy find! TFTC and FP for efforts!
We finally got there. Had to consult facebook for a hint. Im not from here, and wasnt aware of the area. Thats my excuse anyways. Very clever use of the area. Tftc! Find 801
So with the difficulty and reading so many past logs, I’m actually amazed that I found this so quickly... usually it’s the opposite! I guess I cottoned on to a few tricks straight away that led me to potential hides, and even though I had a detailed look, it was probably the third time in passing that managed to see something well blended. Phew, thanks Sneaky!
Thought I would give this a go whilst in the vicinity but it was too good for me a tFTH
Found it finally after some help from previous finders. I have searched a couple of times for this and realized I have not even been close..... I nearly strangled my caching buddies who insisted on giving terrible abstract clues that were half correct! Ha ha still on we go and have resumed the friendship! Tftc - will be back with a pen pronto!
Clever cache!!!! I was so impressed with myself when I figured out .... what needed to be figured out! #thinklikeSneaky
