Took the boys out to London Bridge to expend some of that built up school holiday energy. I'd never been here before so it was an adventure all round. Picked up a few hides on the drive in, dodging some local road works before pulling into the carpark with a number of other cars. Looking around there were a few muggles about but not too many. Wandered around a bit before heading over the hill and down to the bridge. Sat in the sun and had lunch before heading down to the water's edge to skim some rocks, as you do with three young boys. Had a look at the bridge and cave(s) before investigating the possibilities of further exploration. Spent about 90 minutes here before heading back to the geomobile, picking a few more hides along the way. Will be back for more family fun and of course, more geocaching. TNLNSL TFTC

The usual clever name and really appreciated the ease of parking for most of the caches along this road. Thank you.
Found. I have been here before and experienced a dnf. This time my GPS put me the opposite side of the driveway. All good with cache. Tf5c

Attending the Clear Water 2019 mega this Easter in Queanbeyan. Apologies for the generic log but we have found too many to compose individual logs. Many thanks to all the cache owners for their caches, which have been exceptional in their maintenance I have had only 1 dnf and that was only because I was not going to make a tree climb without seeing where the cache was. The vast majority of caches have had very good coordinates. Along with useful hints. TFTC
Attending the Queanbeyan Clear Waters mega event, this was a day packed with hikes and power trails. Our team started off the day walking around Googong Dam targeting the Queen geocache trail, before then heading south through Royalla and visiting Michelago, and then heading north via Burra. A massive day caching indeed in great weather.
An ongoing drive back towards *home* along Burra Road collecting the Burra series power trail, as well as some odds and ends on the way, such as this one. This geocache didn't take long to find, and the cache and contents were in good shape. Thanks Chalk It Up for its placement and ongoing maintenance.

Yesterday I was quite uncomfortable on the Tarago road PT so today I headed on a different direction. I was surprised by the number of vehicles on the road but at least there were nowhere near as many trucks.
I think I will finish with 40 and 1 but I did miss one somehow.
Thanks to all the COs whose caches I found today . Most were found easily due to good coordinates and very friendly hints.
All logs were either stamped or signed though sometimes as SG as I often do in small logs to save space.

We started on this fun series this afternoon. The names were all well chosen and the hides that we looked for were all found successfully. Our name was added to each log before restoring each container to its proper hiding place. We really enjoyed this series and would like to be able to complete it on another occasion. Many thanks go to Chalk It Up for putting out these fun caches.
Day out in ACT., to bring up 6000 finds. Thanks to all cache owners for an enjoyable day out.

On a beautiful winters day it was a day of caching, with dty73 in the morning out at googong for the queens series and later in the afternoon to meet up with GreyHams for a targeted cache to collect Londons Loft. And of course we stopped for many other caches along the way as we passed them as well. After a false start to the morning to detour for a newly published cache as we were just arriving for our morning walk we did start off around the circuit a bit later than we had intended, so were a bit delayed for the days plans but still got to stop for most of this series.
Couldn't have asked for a nicer day, and with the brightest blue sky and the sun shining but not hot it made for a very comfortable day to be out. The highlight of the morning was the frozen waterways out at googong, the frozen water was very thick and made for some fun entertainment, it also delayed us even more in the afternoons caching with Greyhams and had to leave many of our planned caches of the day to catch up! Thanks for the cache Chalk it up.
Having to drive past many of the caches along the way we did catch up just a few caches along this road and then drove together to complete the caches along the way, it didn't take long to figure out the hints to each cache hide.

Todays mission was all about filling yet another gap in the JASMER missing months and grabbing an oldie. Londons Loft was the target.... oh my lordie I am not sure that was a good idea at this time of year. I met up with Aquilus1 and dty73 who were going a bit ice silly out in Googong in the morning.
On the way I was also grabbing a few here and there that I had missed previously. This was one of those.
One more of the UP series.... they do go on and on....

Today is the 1st of July 2018 and I managed to find 157 caches for the day. It was amazing, we did so many caches with only about 10 DNF’s for the whole day. We spent a total of almost 12 hours caching and I was dog tied at the end of it all. There were some highlights for the day, Joolay got her 1500th cache find, I got my 3500th cache find and Kitty Katch got her 5000th cache find. We spotted an Echidna, a Wombat and several thousand Kangaroos during the day. Not sure exactly how far we drove but it was many hundreds of kilometres. I love geocaching so much and the friends I have made along the way make it all worthwhile.
I have included one of the Geocaching poems that I have written. I hope that anyone reading it likes it. Thanks for all the caches and sorry for the generic log for this cache but with 157 caches in one day it would be too hard to write a different one for each cache.
Geocache Poem
By DARKSIDEDAN
My endless search goes on and on
Looking for treasures of every kind
Always chasing just one more find
Putting past DNF’s out of my mind
I step out into the world outside,
Seeking what is hidden from me
What size, shape or form will it be?
Only time will tell, I can’t wait to see
Will I find my prize at the end?
I will search in the failing light and cold
Filling with despair having looked everywhere
Where is this thing that gives my life pleasure?
Looking all around from every angle
I read the logs and check the hint
I curse out loud as I walk in circles
Screaming the bloody thing it not there
As time flies by and I fail to see,
Never once stopping to realize
It always been there before my eyes
No need for sorrow, there’s the Geocache.
***** I am currently writing detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC. "The Author" Badge challenges geocachers to average one hundred words or more in each log. As of 31st January 2018 my average was less than 70 words per log, which seems close to the 100 target. However given that I have found so many GC caches, I have to write many logs with well over 100 words for a long period of time to get my average to the target. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that I can strive to attain this challenge. After 3500 plus caches (which includes all cache finds up and including yesterday), the average log length is just over 90 words. I am now entertaining the possibility that I might be able to achieve my task before this year ends. Progress has been better than anticipated.*****

This is our fourth trip to the northern island this year. The first three were primarily for family events but with some opportunities to do some caching along the way. The fourth trip is different as caching is our focus. After getting off The Spirit of Tasmania we are heading north to cache at Wangaratta and then Yass before heading into the ACT and Queanbeyan for a week. After that we will travel to Jindabyne for a few days with summiting Mount Kosciuszko being our main target for this part of our trip. Then we will visit Cooma and Tumut before heading back down the track through Wangaratta and Mansfield as we make our way to Alexandra for the MEGA. After the weekend we will continue to make our way south and back onto the Spirit of Tasmania for the “drive” across Bass Strait. We are really looking forward to three weeks of intense caching in great areas and, hopefully, catching up with some geocachers in each of the areas we will visit.
Today we left Queanbeyan and headed south caching along the way. Rather than initially going down the Monaro Highway, we detoured through Burra before rejoining the Monaro Highway at Michelago. From there we went down the highway to Cooma, cached for a little while there, before heading to Jindabyne where will stay for three nights. This will be our base for caching in the area, including an attempt to get to achieve one of the goals for a trip, to get to the top of Mount Kosciusko. We are just hoping for reasonable weather with the weather forecast suggesting a little rain.
Unfortunately we had to log a DNF on the "Fire It Up" cache. Thankfully we were able to find the next one. Despite accurate coordinates the long grass complicated the hunt and it took a couple of minutes of systematic searching to locate this cache. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Chalk It Up for the cache and the series in a very pleasant rural area.

Day four in Canberra with BettyBoo3747. Today we didn't venture far from home and went down to Googong Foreshores to brush up on our Queen history, and to have a look at London Bridge.

#11275. Day 4 of our two week Canberra Holiday with Robmc. A day to rock on with Queen at Googong, and pick up a few other caches along the way. A big walk (for me anyhow) to start the morning at 8.00am. We got up close and personal with many kangaroos and yellow and white flowers of all varieties and came back crippled from all the grass seeds in our shoes. I did have sock protectors but the wrong shoes. New shoes for grass seed country are on the agenda ASAP tomorrow morning. We then paid a visit to London Bridge and gathered a few more caches and grass seeds before heading back to our accommodation for a well-earned rest.
Like Lucky L10n we had a quick find here too. That was lucky as the grass was quite long here and I don't like to loiter too long at people's farm entrances.

#4880 - 13:55; Decided to head out to Googong today to collect a few newish cvaches and then head along the Old Cooma Road and Burra Road for a few quite old ones. After spending quite a bit of time at the last cache, it was nice to 'chalk' up a quick find on this one. TFTC Chalk It Up
There were lots of young'uns at GZ waiting to be loaded somewhere....perhaps as pets (I think not). They welcomed us with lots of noisy bellows as we got close. The cache was found quickly and we weere soon on our way.

My Easter visitors made a early return home today leaving me most the day free, so I headed out Burra as I'd always wanted to see London Bridge. It did not disappoint & was much bigger than pictures suggested. All in all, it was a lovely cool day for walking around, enjoying the scenery, and, of course, collecting the odd geocache that got in the way !
