Slightly overcast and windy winter’s day but perfect for a bike ride in the hills! Attended the Winter Solstice event at London Arch then continued to explore and cache in the area.
All caches in good condition unless otherwise noted.

Not where I first looked nor where my GPS took me but nice and easy, none-the-less. Name on sign was a blast from the past - horsepower in the paddocks now rather than under the bonnet!

After grabbing some TE caches near Googong Dam, I took a long route to south Canberra via a number of park and grabs. A quick find here, although the cache was on the ground and the only way to retrieve it was to jump the gate and go around. Cache replaced so it could be reached from the road side. TFTC.

Dropped by with Genghicat. Cache found lying on ground separated from container. Still in good condition but needs attachment method to prevent displacement. Tftc
A day with Marmaduke Rothschild caching around the southern end of Googong Dam and along Burra Road and Old Cooma Road. Thanks to all the cache owners for placing and maintaining the caches for our fun day.
An easy days outing with JohnnyBoyACT collecting some of the more recent caches hidden around the Googong dam, southern shores. After the foreshores came along here for a quick find as cache on the ground. Returned to its correct spot. TFTC.

In Queanbeyan to attend the Mega. So great to get here early to spend time catching up with some many familiar faces. Always taking the time to grab a cache, when the opportunity allowed it.
Out today with Di Morgan and Snakepiters, signing logs as DISH. Had some fun and laughs along the way, while finding a number or good finds.
Thanks Chalk It Up for all the effort of placing the cache for us to find and doing the maintenance to keep it in play

Attending the Clear Water 2019 mega this Easter in Queanbeyan. Apologies for the generic log but we have found too many to compose individual logs. Many thanks to all the cache owners for their caches, which have been exceptional in their maintenance I have had only 1 dnf and that was only because I was not going to make a tree climb without seeing where the cache was. The vast majority of caches have had very good coordinates. Along with useful hints. TFTC
Attending the Queanbeyan Clear Waters mega event, this was a day packed with hikes and power trails. Our team started off the day walking around Googong Dam targeting the Queen geocache trail, before then heading south through Royalla and visiting Michelago, and then heading north via Burra. A massive day caching indeed in great weather.
An ongoing drive back towards *home* along Burra Road collecting the Burra series power trail, as well as some odds and ends on the way, such as this one. This geocache didn't take long to find, and the cache and contents were in good shape. Thanks Chalk It Up for its placement and ongoing maintenance.

Found on a day out with Guz's Travellers and Mr Cupcake - a beautiful day for it! Please be very careful when pulling over to find this one as there is a drain hidden amongst the grass (we found one unlucky team stuck with their front wheel in the drain - a good group effort and they were free to travel on). Have piled up some rocks on the edge of the drain to make it a bit more obvious. TFTC
Here for the Queanbeyan MEGA!! Had a lovely afternoon caching with Mr Cupcake and Shandyk. Signed log as GMS. Be careful of the drain covered by the grass. Rocks are now piled up near the drain to hopefully avoid anyone getting stuck (like the poor team that was stuck when we arrived). After a group effort it was great to see them back on the road.
Here for the Clear Waters MEGA!! Spent the afternoon caching with Guz's Travellers and Shandyk. Signed log as GMS. Watch the drain.

**# 23012** Found on another perfect Spring caching day while at Queanbeyan.
Another trek along some trails on the south side of town towards Burra.
More nice country roads and a fairly busy road in some places too.
1 skippy didn't have enough giddy up here and is a bit on the nose.
Thanks for the cache and the series Chalk It Up,

Yesterday I was quite uncomfortable on the Tarago road PT so today I headed on a different direction. I was surprised by the number of vehicles on the road but at least there were nowhere near as many trucks.
I think I will finish with 40 and 1 but I did miss one somehow.
Thanks to all the COs whose caches I found today . Most were found easily due to good coordinates and very friendly hints.
All logs were either stamped or signed though sometimes as SG as I often do in small logs to save space.

We started on this fun series this afternoon. This cache was actually found out in the open, but was hidden again in a more secure position. The names were all well chosen and the hides that we looked for were all found successfully. Our name was added to each log before restoring each container to its proper hiding place. We really enjoyed this series and would like to be able to complete it on another occasion. Many thanks go to Chalk It Up for putting out these fun caches.
Found with nissan 65 on a few days away from the south coast caching. Very cold overnight and cool today. Thankyou for the cache
Today is the 1st of July 2018 and I managed to find 157 caches for the day. It was amazing, we did so many caches with only about 10 DNF’s for the whole day. We spent a total of almost 12 hours caching and I was dog tied at the end of it all. There were some highlights for the day, Joolay got her 1500th cache find, I got my 3500th cache find and Kitty Katch got her 5000th cache find. We spotted an Echidna, a Wombat and several thousand Kangaroos during the day. Not sure exactly how far we drove but it was many hundreds of kilometres. I love geocaching so much and the friends I have made along the way make it all worthwhile.
I have included one of the Geocaching poems that I have written. I hope that anyone reading it likes it. Thanks for all the caches and sorry for the generic log for this cache but with 157 caches in one day it would be too hard to write a different one for each cache.
Geocache Poem
By DARKSIDEDAN
My endless search goes on and on
Looking for treasures of every kind
Always chasing just one more find
Putting past DNF’s out of my mind
I step out into the world outside,
Seeking what is hidden from me
What size, shape or form will it be?
Only time will tell, I can’t wait to see
Will I find my prize at the end?
I will search in the failing light and cold
Filling with despair having looked everywhere
Where is this thing that gives my life pleasure?
Looking all around from every angle
I read the logs and check the hint
I curse out loud as I walk in circles
Screaming the bloody thing it not there
As time flies by and I fail to see,
Never once stopping to realize
It always been there before my eyes
No need for sorrow, there’s the Geocache.
***** I am currently writing detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC. "The Author" Badge challenges geocachers to average one hundred words or more in each log. As of 31st January 2018 my average was less than 70 words per log, which seems close to the 100 target. However given that I have found so many GC caches, I have to write many logs with well over 100 words for a long period of time to get my average to the target. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that I can strive to attain this challenge. After 3500 plus caches (which includes all cache finds up and including yesterday), the average log length is just over 90 words. I am now entertaining the possibility that I might be able to achieve my task before this year ends. Progress has been better than anticipated.*****

THE CO WAS MESSAGED BY KK AND THE CONTAINER HAS NOW BEEN REPLACED
Found with Kittykatch and Darksidedan on a lovely sunny day (pea soup northside when we left). Decided to try and get to 150 for the day. Had a great day. TFTC
Found after messaging the CO about the missing container. Joolay and DARKSIDEDAN were on a quest to find 150 caches in a day and qualify for the Hidden Creatures souvenir. TFTC
The cache appears to be in need of owner intervention. I'm temporarily disabling it, to give the owner an opportunity to check on the cache, and take whatever action is necessary. Please respond to this situation in a timely manner (i.e., within 28 days) to prevent the cache from being archived for non-responsiveness.
If you require more time please be sure to **post a note** (not an email) explaining the situation and how much more time you require. For ongoing issues please ensure you visit the listing and post a new note every 28 days to keep everyone up to date, if you do not then you cache may be archived without further note from a reviewer. Caches archived due to lack of maintenance are no longer unarchived and you will need to submit a replacement as a new cache.

Sounds like this one needs to go with 7 DNF's and 2 NM logs.
Hasn't been found for over a year

With the amounts of end I think this one needs checking. I see a former log saying the container is broken
Drove down to googong today for a good walk and grabbed this cache in the process.

We looked for about 10 minutes without making a find. Given the number recent DNFs it cerainly needs to be checked
Thanks anyway.
Thanks anyway.
SleepySnowLeopard had previously DNFd this cache, but wanted another cacher to cast an eye over GZ. I agree this one needs a check up. We worked out what the hint might mean, but the object was too far inside the property to be accessible. Grateful if the CO could take a look and see if indeed the cache has run out of luck!
Was in Burra for the weekend so headed out to get a couple of caches while home. Had a long look, found everything but the cache
Don't feel comfortable with these caches right at someones property entrance.
Quick look but no find.
Quick look but no find.
Coords had me at a private property entrance. Likely hidey hole seemed obvious, but did not spy any container. Got nervous and didn't spend any real time to look. Will watch and attempt again another day
We enjoyed the location - we have friends living nearby so a great opportunity to get this cache.. Thanks to Chalk It Up for placement of this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
Thank you for the cache,
Great cache on the way to break up the trip.
Found with Pa James.

#4888 - 14:45; Decided to head out to Googong today to collect a few newish caches and then head along the Old Cooma Road and Burra Road for a few quite old ones. Again, the name said it all and I identified the likely GZ as I pulled over to the side of the road. Waited for other traffic to pass and I was off to GZ where I was able to reach in for the find. TFTC Chalk It Up
Found it on the ground, tried to dry the container and replaced in a safe location
Found on a mini road trip with JetFuselage and CanberraChick. Container in dire need of replacing. Sorry but the last clip broke off when I opened it and the lid disintegrated even though I was being gentle Rescued the trackable.
Found this whilst on a mini escape / road trip with Boeing 737 and JetFuselage. Thanks for taking me along for the ride. Loved this one - we were discussing with JetFuselage what the lucky sign might be and had it confirmed when we retried the cache.

I agree with Diadem that the cache is in urgent need of maintenance.
Dropped off a TB I picked up in Europe.

The cache container had a large hole in the lid. Two clips are missing (actually one of them is in the cache). And the plastic bag is just plastic now. The cache needs a hug (... and maintenance.)
Out for a quick afternoon fix, decided to go for a drive and do this section by Chalk It Up. TFTC!
