A fresh map for a fresh year…
Missing caches has been a topic of conversation recently. To rectify this, I manually checked every cache listing within 70km from home – for caches that needed “Needs Maintenance” or “Needs Archive” logs. I found that there are quite a few caches that needed attention from their respective owners or the local community volunteer reviewers. Now one month on, I’ve gone back through my bookmarked list to check on the status of the said caches.
Unfortunately posting a Needs Archived log due to lack of maintenance.
There was a string of DNF's since 17th June 2017.
I posted a Needs Maintenance Log on the 2nd December.
No response from CO.
No action has been taken to maintain this cache.

Nearly gave up as I thought I had to put my hand into some scary dark holes- but a little more searching saved me from this scary fate!

On a day caching with Diddyhonda from Germany, we tackled part of the LIPT and a few others along the western side of Lake Illawarra. So with our bikes we took off from Kanahooka Point. It was a stinking hot summers day of 34 dregrees, but we managed to find them all. A pleasant ride along the edge of the lake, taking in some nice scenery and enjoyable company.
This was #19 for the day, but should have been #1 as we couldn't find it when we first parked only 10m away. Looking further and in the right place I soon had CIH. Thanks to all the COs for putting these caches in place. A lovely place to visit.

A beautiful play Park in an incredibly lovely location. Great bike path too.
It took a few minutes to get ourselves to GZ and make the find. Log signed and then on our way again.
Thanks

Beautiful day out caching today. Great view. Found with nissan 65 and shrimp 92. Thankyou for the cache
An overnighter in the Figtree area provided the chance for a weekend cycle-caching around Illawarra Lake and hinterland. Tally for the day: 27 Finds, 3 DNFs giving a weekend total of 53 finds.
Unfortunately, there were just a few too many possible hiding spots, and then it started bucketing down, so decided to abandon.

Plans were set in place with fitzy_1965 for a weekend caching mission around the Illawarra region We had a great time nabbing a whole bunch of caches with the only disappointment being the high number of DNF's due to missing containers
We returned to this one after being muggled out by some kids playing nearby. When we arrived it was on with the search. I looked down some hole with the torch and under some bushes whilst fitzy to the step to search behind some other things to come up with the find
Thanks for the hide, blue_mars

11801. Found during a weekend caching trip to Wollongong with specimenX. Overall a great weekend with the only downer being the high number of DNFs - especially around the lake.
A plan was hatched for specimenX and myself to visit Wollongong this weekend to attempt the SES (those that we have solved anyway - we have a few left for next time) and LIPT series plus others. We arrived in Wollongong last night inorder to get an early start on the trail today. Next find for the day. We had a quick look here when we first arrived but there were heaps of muggle-kids around so we walked off to do some other caches. On the way back to the car we had another proper look and the cache was soon in hand. Log signed, cache returned and we continued on our way to the next one.
Thanks blue mars !! All good with this one.

Like the previous couple of searchers, we were also unsuccessful in finding this cache. Could see plenty of obvious hiding spots, and even spotted a pencil down a deep dark hole. Might be worth an owner's check to see if it is still there.
A couple of us spent a good period of time looking in plenty of hide spots, so we checked as many as we could
Signed back in to the gc website. Backlogging a majority of finds over the last year. Started my own account and it's time to sync it out. To avoid confusion I wont change the date logged. Send me an email (via profile link) or a message in the message centre (also via profile link) if you have any concerns.

An Easter Sunday bike ride with the geokids to burn off those chocolate eggs! We stopped to look for this one and soon had some fellow geocachers call over to us to give a few useful pointers!! TFTC
Nice easy find. Again another lovely area for riding, picinic's and walking TFTC

Day trip down to Wollongong - between 15 to 20 finds today.
I hate those skink/lizard things, they are as off putting as snakes or spiders.
Determined to find this one, Blue_Mars' Note/Maintenance log helped 100%
Sometimes you just need the right perspective

I parked here to walk to another nearby cache, what a lovely spot. TNLN. TFTC
Very quiet and very hot at Sunday lunchtime. Lots of places to look and potential places for the container to be overzealously re-hidden but it seems like it is where it belongs. SL TFTC Cheers... Gaztek
Yay it was so so close to where I was searching the first couple of times. Left a nice little shell.
I had a muggle free environment at 05:30 and a fairly good search and couldn't find anything. Could it be checked to see if it's still there?
Checked cache on the 3rd, and found it had been replaced into a nearly impossible to retrieve hidey hole. Retrieved and rehid in a location more in line with the original position. Please don't be over zealous when replacing this cache.
I had a bit of a scratch around looking for this one, however because of the previous DNF's I didn't waste anymore time.
