I am definitely not a poet so I won't try and come up with a wonderful verse or two for my log.I received a hint for this puzzle as I exhausted all the tricks I knew regarding the use of the information given.I got the ball rolling and found a site that spat out the golden numbers that were needed to get me to gz.So on the way back home from Mount Samaria, we took a short detour and walked in the darkness to locate the cache. The container was found safe and well.Thank you mvyrmd and Team BGF for a great puzzle that brought a bit of colour to life.It is amazing what you can do,When you learn a thing or two.Information just jumps out from the page,As you go through every stage.Skills that stay with you all the way, And that is all I have to say!

The puzzle had been solved sometime ago, and so today, on our drive from Wangaratta to Seymour, we stopped in Benalla and the surrounds. We did not know the roads into GZ, and since we were pulling the camper trailer, we decided to walk from the start of the road. That meant we had about a 700 meter walk in to GZ, but it was very pleasant and the roads were in good condition with some beautiful bushland around us. Log signed after a short bush bash, fighting our way through spiderwebs to GZ. Thanks Team BGFDomsky

A quick stop on my way with Muzza to Wangaratta to do a few trail puzzles before they are archived. A nice short walk to an easy find. I needed a hint with the puzzles though.

29-Nov-23
On my way to Wangaratta with Connie (from Connie and Rick) to meet up with Micaparamedic and McLookers, to do the HSS series of caches before they were archived next month. I've had the solve for this one for a while, and we were ahead of time, so we took the detour off the freeway to come here for a nice and quick find. Many thanks for the cache, mvyrmnd and Team BGF.

Day 1 of our Ned Kelly Country roadtrip, Melbourne -> Glenrowan!

Today is one of the longer drives of the trip, after waking up at 3:30am this morning and getting to Newcastle Airport at 5am, we’re already tired!
We’re just grabbing good DTs, oldies and different types today, so much to do and not enough time!

Fun puzzle and a nice walk/drive to GZ, cool to see remnants of the old cache at GZ too!

Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache Team BGF!

Day 1! We’re spending the weekend caching way through Kelly Country, aiming to fill in needed DTs, do some fun climbs and generally have a good time.
After a 0345 reveille this morning to get a flight, we’re driving the back roads to Glenrowan….
This puzzle was fun, we've seen some similar, so it didn't take too long.

TFTC!

Suscoe had an early start this morning, we had picked up a few caches before arriving at Reef Hills.
A lovely bushland area and it was quite pleasant to travel around this morning with cloudy skies and a gentle breeze.
Thanks to mvyrmnd and Team BGF for this puzzle and hide, with some gentle prodding and pushing we got there with the puzzle and it was nice to find the cache today.

One of many caches found during the week of the 2021 Wangaratta Mega. Thanks to all Cache Owners for their contribution to our recreational activity!

I was pretty chuffed that I solved this puzzle within a few minutes of looking at it. Made a quick find after walking through the bush. TFTC

Another D/T down. Found GZ on this muggy January afternoon.
As for the puzzle…we were pretty happy with ourselves as we were sure we had it. Knew what to do and some numbers came up no worries. Wait..that’s not all of it….what next? Now we are down a rabbit hole doubting ourselves on the way. Started to get frustrated because we knew we were on the right track but it just wouldn’t work. Reached out to the CO and the last piece fell into place. Couple of swear words later because we had been so close and the checker worked.
Great puzzle and happy to drive to Reef Hills for collection. TFTC.

It was time to head home after an awesome few days in the North East region of Victoria. Making the slow journey home and maybe a spot of caching in the East.

On the way home I drove past so stopped in to grab this quick pre solved puzzle.

Thanks Team BGF for the cache.

Came out to collect today via a visit to Mitre 10 in Benalla after having a self-isolation puzzle solving day yesterday whilst awaiting for our COVID test results. I've been trying to crack this nut for years and just tried something ever so slightly different this morning after working on it again for a bit yesterday and bam! I was not quite doing it right before - so close!

The trek in on foot from the geomobile was a slow one as I was trying to dodge all the Christmas spider webs. There are dozens of them everywhere! Cache found ok and in good condish. Nice to finally have our names in this book. Beautiful day today mid twennies and sunny whereas yesterday it rained most of the day - something Nanny novo reckons never happens around here and that WE must have bought it with us from NSW. Better that than COVID (we tested negative lol). TFTC and very cool puzzle mvyrmnd/ Team BGF.

I've had my eye on this cache for a long time now. I started trying to solve it when I first got into geocaching but with not much success. Had a little bit of a nudge by the CO, but still it sat unsolved for many months until today, when staring at the puzzle for a while, I tried something that looked very promising, and soon enough, the whole puzzle fell out with a set of coords the checker agreed with. So a quick drive down the road and a short walk, and we were right at GZ. Had a bit of an "uh oh" moment when we thought we saw a broken cache at GZ, but the cache was safely tucked away. Signed log and returned. TFTC, good to finally be able to find this one.

We headed for the Reef Hills this morning in hope of scoring a FTF. We succeeded and so thought we’d pick up another cache while we were in the area.
Drove as close as we could before I left the family in the car and hopped and jumped my way across to the cache.

Great little puzzle this. TFTC

Mr Tardis solved this puzzle, before our trip to the northeast. Today I was in the area heading back to Wang. I stopped by and went for a nice short bush walk and found the cache after a short search.

Signed the log. Thanks for the cache mvymnd / Team BGF.

On our Fathers Day trip
Driving around Reef Hills
We noticed this unfounded mystery
But felt like a couple of dills.
We understood the theory
But then we came to a stop
To solve the depth of this puzzle
We knew we’d need a laptop.
With only iPads and smart phones
We weren’t up to solving the task
We now had one other option
A previous finder to ask.
Messages were sent out
But alas we had no luck
Then dalerious made a phone call
That got us of the muck.
We had the choice of two options
But which road would we take?
We took the first, the closest,
But it was a mistake.
We turned and took the other road
Which turned out to be right,
A lovely walk in the forest and
dalerious had the cache in sight.
Our names were added to the log,
At last we had a winner,
Now off to the Benalla Bowls Club
For a lovely Father’s Day dinner.

My fifth day on the road as I slowly make my way from Adelaide to Tasmania, via country Victoria.

Its been an great trip so far, visiting some interesting places and picking up a few selected caches along the way. I’ve been lucky with the weather, albeit a bit warm. Fortunately the overnight thunderstorms, lightning and rain at Myrtleford where I stayed had subsided by the morning and it was another mostly fine day.

I solved this puzzle before leaving Adelaide in anticipation of my visit and enjoyed the short stroll to Gz.

Thanks Team BGF for the puzzle and the cache.

Needing some time out I decided to go for a drive and ended up at some caches which I had been seeing on my GPSr for some time whenever I drove past this area.
On a strange night and with lighting flashing and thunder crashing around us and then rain pouring down, Rex and I managed to find 12 Smile caches and had some fun driving through this bush area in the darkness Cool
We saw roos [^] and a young tourist with a nice fire in the campground who wondered why we were out at night on a night like this[?]Razz Hence I just had to explain geocaching Wink
By the time we left this area, after I'd spent a while chatting to a former colleague who lives in Benalla Cool and who promptly and at length told me off for being out here in the darknessSurprised [?] Razz, we again drove past the tourist and his fire was out and I'm guessing that he was asleep in his campervan.[|)]Wink

As I am about 8 months behind in logging, I'm resorting to template logs to catch up. Sad
My heartfelt thanks to the COs who have placed some tricky, funny, exercise required, scary, interesting and devious caches in some amazing spots! Cool[^]CoolSmile
Rex and I have had some amazing adventures and enjoyed some incredible moments thanks to this fantastic hobby SmileBig GrinCool

DAB and I had organised a road trip for a few days to go up the Hume to explore some areas we had not before. The work went into this puzzle in the days leading up to the trip. I had found part of the puzzle and was on the right track but needed a push to make sense of the rest. A tough one indeed. A slight detour had us looking for this one today with some very big sticky spiders and webs. We navigated well and found the prize with no issues. Signed and returned as found Smile

**Thanks to mvyrmnd and Team BGF for placing this cache for us to find and enjoy** Smile

19-Mar-18
Had some help with this tough puzzle. In the company of Na'wal, we ventured to gz in the hope of a find. As others have mentioned, this area seems to be a playground for spiders. With careful navigation, we were able to reach the cache without disturbing any eight legged freaks. Thanks for a very clever puzzle. TFTC Team BGF Big Grin

Out for a nice days caching around the Benalla area with omegaman1971. Had some help to solve this and then it was a matter of maing this find. Avoided the spiders and made our way to GZ for a quick find of a new container.
Thanks Team BGF for the challenge and placing the cache for us to find.

I was a little nervous driving here, for reasons I won’t say in fear of giving away GZ. But I soon found a spot to park, and walked in to grab the cache. I feel like I had a shower of spiderwebs. They were relentless, even with my “wave a big stick around in front of me to break webs before I walk though” type antics. It didn’t work. I think I needed two sticks. Next time! Loved the lid of the old cache and the replacement underneath. TFTC Team BGF

Neither am I.

The red flags were not flying but even if they were I would not have been concerned.

I walked the walk and found the cache in the first spot I looked. The day was a very snakey day but I didn't see any on my tramp from the road. I returned to push on back to Adelaide.

Found as part of my 2017 Alexandra Mega experience. Smile This cache added to the fun and enjoyment of my trek to the east and back from Adelaide. While there were a few thunder storms, there were mainly clear skies and I never saw a snake! [^]Surprised

Thanks to Team BGF and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet!

I had help with the puzzle. It was a bit warm today so I did a lot of high stepping. Luckily I did not see anything dangerous but a mob of kangaroos hopped away. Like others before me, I did have some difficulty signing the very wet log. Unfortunately I didn't have anything to replace it with. Thanks mvyrmnd.

It is with huge thanks to OHC that we are able to claim this find. We are hoping to get all the caches in here and this one had us stumped.
Nice quick and easy find but definitely can't attribute the same to the puzzle.
The log had it's own swimming pool in the bag, so was too wet to sign. I have a photo should the CO want verification. Sorry, but we had walked a distance to this from where we parked the car so unfortunately didn't have anything to help out with us.
Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.

14-Oct-17
On our way to Wangaratta and decided to take a break. Been meaning to come in here for so long. After we got help with the puzzle, the cache was quickly located, signed and returned.
Thanks for the cache.

The cache was dry but the log was absolutely soaked in the bag. I don't think it will be useable when/if it dries.

An ominous feeling tends to fill the air on Friday the 13th - one solution is to head for the hills - Reef Hills that is!!
An afternoon among the kangaroos, bird calls and mine shafts, in a sea of flowers, including fringe lilies, and egg & bacon. Plus of course a generous spread of well maintained caches.
A poem about this hide would not be complimentary! Thanks to a good samaritan we were able to log our visit on the NSW Event promo card.

Thanks Team BGF for the puzzle and the cache

Solved with Snap Happy and Happy Feet the night before heading to Benella with a little help in the form of a paf we had been on the right track and soon had a set of likely coords. Snap Happy and myself went for the wander on the way back to Mansfield.

Thank you for placing and maintaining the cache.

I looked at this one because I liked the d/t rating. A close look at the puzzle made me happy because i knew what to do, still had to get it all together though.
The checker didnt work, but was pretty sure anyway. Had to wait for a trip up the Hume to find.
It was raining on approach today and I set out hoping to find the cache easily! Didnt take long Smile lovely bushland. Just had to find my way back out to the car!
Cache had a bit of water in it again, I drained it. Log completely soggy but got a scrawl on it. Thanks for the puzzle and cache!

A short diversion from the M31 to grab this on the way to Melbourne. I was thinking of going into Wangaratta to pick up some caches there, but my driver wanted to power on towards the big smoke. I had to do some arm twisting to divert for this one.
The cache was easily found. I drained some water out and ended up signing the Morriset Muster card that The Tritonz had left. It was dry and easy to sign.
Thx for the puzzle and cache!

Travelling North with the Pacman and swung by here for the final of this puzzle.

We parked as close as possible and walked in the wet grass. A short walk had cache in hand in a nice bush setting.

Tell you what, tough puzzle, though Pacman thought not too bad. Thanks for placing this cache, I enjoyed both. Cheers

Heading out on a caching roadtrip to the Albury/Wodonga region with Jacko83 this weekend, aiming to do some hiking, climbing and 4WDing in a quest for higher DT caches.
Travelling north on the first (rainy) day we stopped for this mystery which we had targetted earlier in the week. While I'm not a puzzle solver and I know it Smile, this mystery revealed itself soon enough. At GZ we signed the new logbook.
Thanks for the neat puzzle, Team BGF/mvyrmnd.

This cache has been "waiting in the wings" for some time now.
Anyway, chance would have it that we would be in Benalla for a weekend of tree planting for the Regent Honeyeater project and this cache was back on the table.
Rising before dawn we got ready for the days events and with coordinates in hand we ventured forth into the great unknown.
Apron arrival at GZ the cache was quickly found and my, what a heavy cache it was.
And why was it heavy, I hear you ask, because it was full to the brim with water!!
The cache was quickly opened and the contents were found sloshing around inside. After emptying everything out the cache container and contents were set aside to dry. After a brief discussion it was decided to leave everything out for the day and return later once everything had dried out...

The day passes and the sun shines....!

Later in the day we returned to GZ with nice clean snap lock bags and a fresh clean log book.
We were greeted with a much drier cache logbook than the slimy one we rescued from the cache in the morning..
The cache was reassembled and returned to its hide in a slightly more elevated position to keep it out of the depression it was in. Our job done, we went on to find more Benalla caches before the sun went down.
TFTC.

This puzzle had us banging our heads against the wall for many months as we would try different ideas and then file it away again.
Finally we were talking to a non caching friend and they had an idea and we could not believe our luck when we got a set of coordinates the checker liked.
Heading home after the Mulwala Ski Show fireworks with micaparamedic we stopped here to try our luck on finding the container. This did not give up with out a fight as we have never seen so many spider webs trying to block our way to GZ.
Once we got there the cache was a nice easy find and the log now contains our names.
Many thanks mvymnd for many evenings we will never get back and also showing us this location. Smile

Returning to Melbourne from Yarrawonga after fireworks display last night with Team Crackers and Wombatus. TC and I had this sussed out a while ago so while stopped for lunch we took the opportunity to make the find.

09-Jan-16
We were in the area and noticed micaparamedic dropped a TB in this one nearby, so retrieved it and left Sally the sleuth TB in its place. We are pleased to see that Team BGF have adopted this tricky puzzle cache from mvyrmnd. Very hot and dry in Reef Hills park today. Time to head for our air conditioned home.

We were fortunate that our initial thoughts about this puzzle were correct and we soon had a set of coordinates which pleased Evince. Today we went to look for the cache. Accurate coordinates led to a quick find. the cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks mvyrmnd for the puzzle and the cache.

Reperio at 0030.

Well after a very adventurous week including a mega event, a host of high terrain and difficulty caches, and a ruptured pectoralis major tendon, I slowly kept making my way home to Newcastle while I was still awake enough to drive at this hour...and the only cache on my list to do was this one. Whilst it wasn't exactly the time of day I was hoping for in passing by here, I was fairly confident I would have the area to myself, and so parked as close as I could and headed off into the bush pen, GPS, head torch...and one arm in a sling. Arrived at GZ, and quickly spotted the cache...signed...and then straight back to the car to continue the journey north. I enjoyed this puzzle, which fortunately I had seen similar elsewhere. Thanks for the fun.

Finally, we say, FINALLY, we are able to put a smiley face on this very tricky puzzle cache. We had some hints from the CO and vague comments from others who had found it, but somehow none of it quite made sense until we delved into the new 'How to puzzle cache' book and also had a bit of a brainstorm with Team BGF a few weeks ago. We dragged BettyBoo along with us today as she has elected to spend the day caching with us, but has already logged this one. Sorry, can't think of any poetry which seems to sum up the good feeling of finally signing the log book here. SL at 1pm TN Left: a deer PT and a beautiful Celtic GC which we have been carrying with us for a month. #3056 TFTC mvyrmnd and I guess we have to say thanks for the puzzle as well, because we learnt a lot from it. And now we have completed ALL the present caches in Reef Hills Park, it is off to find some lunch before we all faint from hunger!

Visited this one with Harrowang today and picked up the beautiful geocoin they dropped in here. That was an easy find....! Now off for some lunch.

#1580 We actually moved away from Benalla because we could not for the life of us solve this puzzle and as a result it stuck out like a sore thumb in a sea of smilies near home base Sad But over the weekend a renewed effort began on massaging out the correct coords and Mrs BGF delivered after several hours of intensive attempts and s%$t cracking. Today during our work lunch break with the sun shining and the birds singing armed with a salad roll each, a gps receiver and a pen we set forth through the bush with a determined but satisfied look on our faces as we hunted down the elusive cache. On arrival we spotted the cache instantly but wait! lets take a moment to reflect on our long and mentally painful journey to get to this point before diving in for the log book. Fighting back tears and a trembling hand from the emotion of the moment we just managed to etch our name on the log. (for the purposes of dramatisation, some of the above may have been exaggerated) Thanks mvyrmnd for the challenge and we mean challenge! we thought this was a very clever puzzle.

I have been looking to get this one for a while but was over thinking it (The co even said so). I left it for some time until Witchy from DocNWitchy mentioned I was on the right track. So another look was needed and bam, it hit me, I feel so silly I missed it the other times. So my son and I ventured out in the light rain and bagged ourselves another smiley. Hopefully I won't take as long to get the next one. TFTC mvyrmnd.

After coming out of caching retirement I set about catching up on some puzzles in the immediate area. This was one of the first I tackled and fortunately one of the first I solved too being similar to one I have done before. The drive to the location wasn't as bad as I was expecting and the stroll to the cache wasn't as wet as easier terrain we'd tackled earlier in the day.

Great to see some bigger caches around too!

Thanks,

#804 Found with Team Rubik today on our Benalla Geocaching and Munzee expedition. Will admit that I would still be struggling with this one without the support of Rubik. It has been some time since I have been out this way and nice to finally tick 3 caches in this area of our list. TFTC.

#5942 We had intended on a caching day in Benalla as we hadn't had a day out in quite some time. I'm sure the puzzles were solved way back when but couldn't find the paperwork so had to re-solve. Couldn't quite remember how this puzzle worked but after a play the numbers for GZ fell out quite nicely - a well constructed puzzle. We chose an approach which was less than a 200m walk toward GZ - fortunately the ground cover in this area is low and easy to negotiate. A large container greeted us in a location that is not likely to be muggled any time soon. Our thanks to mvyrmnd for the cache and puzzle. Cheers [^]

Found today 29th Sept on a beautiful spring day . Well worth the hunt because we got to see all the amazing wild flowers. Just beautiful!

A weekend away in Benalla and with some reassurance from the CO I was looking at the puzzle correctly I got the green light from the checker and made the trip to the GZ to find it sitting in good condition. Thanks for the simple but clever puzzle. TFTC.

The Labour Day long weekend gives me the opportunity to head up to Lima South to stay with friends and to get some caching done in northern Victoria and southern New South Wales. Starting early in the morning I had a great day collecting smilies, eating the occasional sticky bun, and working it off hiking the hills. It was well after dark when I returned with a parched throat that was soon Quenched. thanks to all the CO's who placed caches that I collected today. Thanks.

# 2978. Robmc and I were travelling to Benalla (and a bit beyond) to collect a few outstanding caches in the area. This was the first along this road. We were surprised to see the after-effects of some extremely heavy rain with branches and leaves left in wash-lines along the dirt roads. We parked the vehicle and had a nice stroll in through the scrub to GZ. (except for the sticky cobwebs). We had solved this puzzle a few weeks ago so it was nice to collect on it today. TFT puzzle and the cache.

Nice little puzzle!
Grabbed a couple on the way home (work tomorrow Sad)
Raided this park, then lunch in Benalla.
The cache was a bit exposed (lot of rain?) so we covered it a bit better.
thanks, Robmc.

I solved this cache with blacklegend a while ago and we thought we should pick it up today. With blacklegend and Sportacuss. TFTC. Smile

Out on a days caching with my daughter Sporticuss (previously Bubble.O.Bill) and her boyfriend Poynts95 and two of the little caching kiddies, James 6yo and Marindah now 5yo. Had a top day caching around the Benalla area then heading down to Eurora to collect a few. Weather was great for the day and we had a lot of fun.

Solved ages ago as well, and thought I should grab it while in the area. Had a nice drive around, and a bit of a careful walk into this one on a warm day. Didn't want any nasty surprises slithering out of the grass. TFTC mvyrmnd, another ripper. Fav point added too.

I'd changed the co-ords in Gsak but as I approached GZ I wondered if the co-ords in my GPS had updated as it seemed an unlikely place but not so. The cache was there pretty much where it said it should be. Can't boast too much about this one as I needed a kick start or two but managed to get a result eventually.
Thanks mvyrmnd

Found in company of DazRascal on a quick detour from Wang to collect both of Mvyrmnd's new puzzles before heading home after Purpledreamers funeral on what was a beautiful sunny afternoon.

We had both the puzzles solved shortly after they had been published, however, when one was quickly found by a much local cacher, we decided it was a bit far for 1 and we'd get it when we were nearby next and today was the day! Sorry Sime it took so long! Wink
It seems we only missed this FTF by one day after going unfound for so long. Well done to Pprass for the FTF.

Quite an enjoyable little puzzle that came together nicely when sitting down for some puzzle time whilst the GeoKids were quiet. Smile
A nice area for a cache that we have explored parts of once or twice before, but always enjoy returning for a drive.
And....... heels & bush walking aren't exactly the best caching attire for this cache! LOL!

Many thanks Simo for the puzzle and cache! TNLN SL!
Cheers!

Found at 10:04 AM GAFF4 in the company of geoge. Got a call from Geodes who knew that we were travelling to alert us to this cache that hadn't been found for a month. On the way home we detoured slightly, drove the van into the park, met a lady walking her 2 dogs who knew about geocaching and then we just went into the bush for 200 metres. Co-ords were spot on, but it was an odd cache container - quite large and yet there was nothing in it except for the log book and a couple of pencils.
Thanks mvyrmnd
