On holiday for 2 weeks in caravan, stopped at oamaru for couple nights and thought we would go find some cach hunting . TFTC
Cache 1590 last minute trip to Dunedin/Oamaru. Main aim of the trip is 2 D/T spots, large and not chosen size caches for a challenge, sign some other challenge caches and maybe get a few oldies if time allows This cache was on the not chosen listT4TC
Walked the fenceline scanned the long grass. Log shouldn't get wet with all the vontainers
Found. Bit harder than I first thought it would be. Forgot the pen. Good track to have a wee cache on.
I'm afraid I can't maintain this cache any longer. If any kind soul can replace the log sheet if its full, that would be much appreciated. Many thanks. Jamien
Labour week end mission to smash out a good portion of the A2O caches. Got most of those between Duntroon and Oamaru which wasn't bad given I had a half day on Sat, full day on Sun and only a small bit of Mon.
Cache was a quick find and it was like a Russian doll. Added a slip of notepaper for the log
Another one for mr rattll who had walked from the road as stopping with the bike seemed more obvious here.
Thanks for putting this here for us to find

Today started cycling the alps to ocean rail trail an awesome experience. With a few caches to provide the cherry on top. TFC
Took a lot of looking and a little time. A bit of log reading and we were focusing not quite in the right area with the long wet grass. Eventually all the logs made sense and a hole a GreyHams reach up had the cache found about when we were both ready to call it.
Trip log: When cheap flights presented the opportunity to go to NZ with GreyHams, who was keen to get the 5 2000 caches and the web cam I was of course very keen to tag along. I didn't want to miss out on that... Equally as keen for those caches myself and the first chance to get the passport out in a long time and head overseas while we could. Covid Happenings of course did put the trip in doubt and a last minute effort from GreyHams to get the flights changed and it was looking like this might actually happen... until I arrived I truly didn't think it would!
The cache list was quite simple, the 5 2000 caches and the webcams. Of course we did look at others as we travelled, types, DT, not chosen which were in abundunce and caches of quality, if your cache made our list it had a quality we needed. Many thanks for your cache that helped guide us along our way.
Certainly it was a memorable time, barefoot 500 plus metres across a mud estuary of shells and crabs was more fun than it should be. As was pushing through wet thick high flax or tall wet grass across to the caches. But the most memorable would be the fog, the thickest, most relentless fog but it provided some stunning scenery at times and was just crazy.
I loved seeing all the chinese takeaways that did fish and chips, the perfect hedges and a deserved shout out to Indian Zaika for its great food! Certainly with the fog and rain it was an interesting trip and we got quite drenched at times, it hid a lot that NZ has to offer but 'it's a caching trip' after all so it ticked all the right boxes and was very enjoyable regardless. Huge thanks to GreyHams for letting me tag along while he did all the planning, booking, driving and sending in the answers for the caches... as always!

Trip log:
International travel!!...OMG it feels good. Grabbed some cheap flights and anxiously waited for some outbreak to derail the plan, but that amazingly didn't happen. Sure, I had to scramble and reroute our trip via Brisbane & Sydney as we were originally going through the plague pit...aka Melbourne, but we still made it.
Having done most of the North Island, it was good to finally have a crack at the South. 5 year 2000 caches and a webcam, thats a nice little haul. Sure, some of the year 2000 caches involved bush bashing....in the rain/fog/mist...but we got them all. We had lots of other little targets like getting all our types/sizes/DT, NZ in particular has so many 'Not Chosen' size caches, super rare back in Oz, so we made sure to get as many as possible. If you are reading this, its because this cache had a quality we were chasing.
As always, the Earthcaches and the Virtuals took us to some really cool places, the Steampunk HQ and the boulders being birthed at the beach being the highlights. My favourite cache though would have to be the one where we had to walk 500m over a mud flat, dodging shells and crabs with our bare feet.
This trip will be remembered as the 'fog trip' as we saw a lot of it, which meant we saw little else. Oh, that and how every Chinese takeaway also doubles as the fish & chip shop....its a thing!

Thanks for the creative hide in a nice hidey hole

Needs another log book and sry but a muggle spotted me and is snooping around
#18038. I climbed up to the top of the bank and looked up there. No joy. I started making my way down the bank, and came across a hole in the bank; and there was the cache! Whew! TFTC.
Day 3 and the last day of StreetWalkerNZ and my 3 day weekend in and around Oamaru. After an early start and finding 17 caches on the Cormacks Kia Ora Rd, we returned to base for a (well deserved) coffee and to pack up the car.
Getting near the end of the bike trail, and was surprised to see this cache's low terrain rating (you'd need to be a giant to reach from the trail). SW did the scramble and found the cache, and threw down to me to do the paperwork. TFTC.

Up from Dunedin on a mission to get total finds for the year up to 1:1. Still got a few to go and days are running out! Thanks to the local COs for your hard work which is making mine a little easier. TFTC
Day 7 - of our (The Seagnoid, Toby, Zara, & myself) epic adventure around amazing Oamaru. With Geofest17 and Danseys Pass and A2O bagged, we are off exploring Oamaru again.
We ran out of time to complete A2O so back to bag a few more today. So its back to cycling along this track and snagging this one along the way. Cheers

I didn't click on what the title meant until after Taybeedragon and I had found the cache. I llike to double container my caches - much more likly to keep them dry. This one is quin-containered!
Out adventuring with Kiwi Moose and Karma Reprint on a caching / biking mission. Signed as K^3LMR or a variant thereof. Very nice idea that I haven't seen before. Thanks.
Out and about with Karma Reprint and Kiwi Legend, another smiley face on this great trail. A cool little collection of containers. Signed as K^3LMR. Cheers
Headed out for a Mad Mission with Team_Gaters and 8ManAfter we signed our logs today 'T8T' cos were dynatmite! I grabbed 8Man at 5.30 am and we grabbed TG just before 6am and we were on the road before 6am with the bikes on the back. The plan was to drive to Oamaru and then attend the events and thrash the caches hard. We wanted to do as much of the A2O as we could and as many PnGs that we could manage. We stopped by the event first and then we had to stop an grab breakfast at 10am. We grabbed some lunch and headed for the hills. Had a great time and worked our way back to town for the CITO at 6pm. Scored a delicous dinner in town and headed home. Got home just after 12am knocking out 620km and 115 caches. Good times!
On the trial, quick find.
Cache 30 of 115 for this crazy day!
Thanks for the cache jamien.

A long days caching (Mad Mission?) with TheWanglers and 8ManAfter..revelin a bit of the Geofest Event in Oamaru. We signed our logs 'T8T' cos were dynamite...and 'in a hurry'...LOL! Picked up by TW & 8man at 6am...and we had our bikes loaded for a bit of A2O action during the day. The plan was to drive to Oamaru and then attend the events and thrash the caches hard. We stopped by the event first and then we stopped to town to grab some breakfast and a packed lunch and then headed out to hit some trails. Had a great time and worked our way back to town for the CITO at 6pm. Grabbed some tea in town then headed for home. Got home just on 12am knocking out 620km and just over 100 cache finds for each of us. A great day with great company!
Glad for the bikes...fun. Cheers.

#2,960: Binge Smiley!
What an adventure we had today! TheWanglers, Team_Gaters, and I headed out at dawn from Christchurch with four goals in mind: 1) Find Many Caches, 2) Get TG to 7,000 finds, 3) get me to 3,000 finds, and 4) Have Fun! Needless to say, all were accomplished in spades. It was only my second 100+ day ever, and had us driving, walking, running, biking, and even crawling to make the finds. We were also able to find at least 7 different cache types, and attend two events, in order to catch up with old friends. Thanks to all the hiders, but most of all, thanks to my partners in crime! We signed all logs as "T8T", sung to the tune of AC/DC "TNT".
We took to the bikes for the first time, and made some finds!

Bbear44 and I were spending a few days in Oamaru getting things organised for the geofest.
Time to head back to Christchurch. But first a wee bike ride.
Find out more about New Zealand's next big event [Oamaru Geofest](http://oamarugeofest2017.wixsite.com/geocachingevent) and come and join us.
Thanks. jamien for putting in the effort to hide this geocache. This was find 5111 for me.

Nice hide, love the container, scratched our heads for a minute then! Tried to disguise our pathway. Now for the next one. TFTC
The second day of the Oamaru leg of our "Road to 6000" Challenge - and back on the bikes to pick up some caches along the Alps to Ocean bike trail.

On a road trip to Dunedin with our bikes on board.
Felt like a short MTB power trail and this fitted the bill.
We seemed to look everywhere but....
Eventually just before giving up I found the hide.

A plan was hatched for a geocaching trip with eve07 and challispoint and young eve07. This was one of many found.
Clever hide and clever idea for the cache. Brought a smile to my face and earns a favourite from me.
Out helping our 8 yr old practice his bike riding and picking up a few caches thanks for the cache, favourite of the day!
Checking out this end of the A2O before we ride the whole trail from the Alps. Wondered where the GPS was pointing, but it took me to this surprising hiding place. Good coordinates and now I understand the title, thanks jamien.
Back on the A2O Cycle Trail cyclocaching my way to Oamaru. Nice quick find of the outer container. A little longer for the inner. Cache needs a new log. TFTC
The forecast was supposed to be good for today but the scotch mist, or fog, or just damp weather arrived but that didn't deter Sunroller and I getting out our bikes to ride the rail trail out of town this morning.
Cheers for the cache.

Very cute. Out and about with Team Welsh on a caching holiday in the South Island. T4tc
