I had visited this geocache at the end of 2019 where [jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I struggled, and I even wrote down a few notes to facilitate a future viist. As it turned out, I was with [E_Smiley](https://coord.info/PREYGEN) and completely forgot about this hide, so I once again searched like it was a new cache to me. Once again, I was surprised about the cool cache, and cool relics! Thanks [locus cache](https://coord.info/PR61P45) for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.----------A trip visiting Adelaide from Brisbane for the [The Great Leap Forward](http://coord.info/GCA1DNA) Mega event!I arrived Wednesday 28/02/2024 evening ready for Leap Day on Thursday, and stayed with family across the weekend, before returning on Monday 4/03/2024 morning. Previous Adelaide trips are spent with family and friends, but targeted geocaching was this trip's objective, and I attempted to target unique cache types (virtuals, EarthCaches, Wherigos and letterbox hybrids), attractive D-T combinations, high Favourite Point caches, and the occasional pre-2003 oldie, acknowledging that I had found many cherished oldies whilst residing in Adelaide. In addition to Mega central in Beverley/Hindmarsh, my trip included visits as north as Clare, to Aldinga and Sellicks Beach to the south, and the Adelaide Hills (Hahndorf, Uraidla) to the west. In true South Australian style, I ticked off the three closest wine areas to Adelaide (Barossa, Clare Valley, and McLaren Vale). Additional highlights included Barossa vineyard meanderings, boating to Adventure Island in Outer Harbor, drain exploration via [The Shadowlands](https://coord.info/GC18AZY), beach walks of Port Willunga and Sellicks Beach, enjoying a beer at Willunga, and experiencing the Fringe Festival in Adelaide's east end.Today, the plan was the completion of the Barossa grapes geoart, and then return back from north-east of Adelaide via targeted D-T caches within the vicinity. After attending the morning's [Meet and Greet Walkerville Memorial Gardens](https://coord.info/GCAJ4H9) event, we proceeded north to join others, and completed the Barossa grapes geoart, before having an early lunch at Tanunda. [E_Smiley](https://coord.info/PREYGEN) and I then took the scenic (geocache) way back to Adelaide via Gawler, One Tree Hill, Golden Grove, Athelstone, and traversing the Black Hill gorges of Gorge Road Montacute Road. Highlights included the 1837 Barossa vineyard, many repurposed (Used 2B) churches, upper Torrens River scenic walks, and enjoying wild blackberries spotted by [E_Smiley](https://coord.info/PREYGEN).Following a pizza dinner refuel and returning [E_Smiley](https://coord.info/PREYGEN) to her vehicle, I called past a couple of Adelaide's south park lands geocaches utilising various TOTTs, before returning back to the family base well into the night.

#21843 @1155Today was chasing some higher D/T fishing caches from the Barossa series with ZQX, Fox in Jox and AngelG, before heading back into Adelaide grabbing some more solved puzzles on the way. As this one was nearby a previous find, we dropped by to see why it had so many favourites. We were not disappointed. Found thanks to the hint. TFTC.

Relics of a time long gone!3.0/2.0 Regular Traditional Cache Flew in from Alice Springs. Back in Adelaide after 14 years. Here specifically for The Great Leap Forward Mega and catching up with awesome Qld caching friends and revisiting Adelaide where we lived for 16 beautiful years! Pity I only started caching in 2015.Had a wonderful time reminiscing and admiring wonderful changes in the State, meeting friendly cachers and helpful COs and finding quality caches, high D/Ts, oldies, geoart etc.davidwazza took me here as he found this one already. So clever that we checked the area for a bit. Good hide! Thank you for the cache locus cache.

Cache # 11032 on 1 Mar 2024Mega time! This is my first mega in South Australia so am very excited to have made it here from the ACT. Arrived Wednesday by plane and leaving Adelaide on Saturday for a road trip back to the ACT. Travelling mostly with Fox in Jox, TikvaNZ and ZQX, but also with others intermittently. Looking forward to grabbing a wide variety of caches while here! Today we headed to the Barossa Valley to pick up a selection of the Barossa power trail caches which we had solved prior to the trip. Then a slow trip back to Adelaide via a number of caches that ZQX had prepared with a few others thrown in for good measure. Around 40 all up for the day! Attracted by the fav points, we headed to this one and were not disappointed. Glad for the hint. Thank you locus cache for the cache and the fun! Have a fav point!

A casual afternoon drive with her who must be obeyed and with the promise of a bakery visit she allowed me to seek out plastic containers using multi million dollar technology.

All caches were in good condition unless noted otherwise.

This one took longer than it should have to locate. Searching in the obvious places proved fruitless. The hint was a little confuding at first until something was spotted that made sense. A fav for the effort Locus. Cache is safe, sound and dry.

I visited this one some time ago, on a trip out this way to get some puzzles and add to my DT grid. I was unable to find this one on my last visit, and there turned out to be a good reason, for which the CO pointed out an interesting attribute of this old and illustrious cache. I did a quick pass then zeroed in on the hide. It was well camoed, and the container was in great condition considering where it is. Book and contents in great shape. Thanks for the cache Locus Cache, a FP coming your way.

I have now made amends at this one, and the flue frowny will now become a yellow smiley.

It has now got to the stage where we have over 750 draft logs waiting to be completed. These range back over at least a couple of years.

We are not a fan of generic logs but with everything that has been on our plates recently we reluctantly have to admit this may be the only way we can get this back log cleared. If your cache is in our backlog it usually means it is one that we wanted to spend more time creating a much more bespoke log than this. But we are not managing to achieve that goal. So in the interests of getting the backlog cleared we have decided to resort to this long form of TFTC as a way of getting a large number of them cleared.

We apologise for the lack of commentary specific to your cache or event. We are somewhat targeted in what we go after. There are unfounded caches within a few kilometres of our home which we published before we started 8 years ago. We have just never got around to o looking for them. We like unusual cache types, puzzles in particular, older caches, and tend to target a much more wider group of caches when we travel. We like remote caches and caches that bring us to an interesting place. It is likely that this cache found its way into our find list because it fits one of these criteria.

As cache owners we appreciate the effort that goes into hiding and maintains caches so thank you for that.

Thanks for this one locus_cache Smile

Only one of the three goals from last year achieved. Twisted So once again trying and fill my calendar with multi-caches and complete loop 11 again this year. [^] For my third goal I will try and get my DNF numbers to single digits. Cool That should keep me busy again this year! [:o)]

Another Wednesday wander with just S.A. sewer Rats today. TwistedToday was about finding some DNF's and whatever else we could find in between them. Razz What a great old style cache. Smile FPO from me but who you calling a relic. [?]

07-Dec-20
An early start today setting my alarms for ridiculous time so I could attend the breakfast event and arrived after gridge but before anyone else, so that was a good start to the day. [^]
I had a big day planned with this event followed by the CITO then caching with locus cache and earthlight. Big Grin
After a nice strong coffee I was awake and ready for the day which didn't look too good weatherwise, but the rain stopped long enough for us to collect a few bags of rubbish at the CITO. It was very cold and windy but the rain held off for most of the day and we had a fun day caching our way to the hills after picking eathlight up. We managed to get quite a few multis, a couple of puzzles and various trads that we happened to be driving past that one or other of us hadn't found. Cool
After picking earthlight up we found a few caches close by before deciding that we would head towards Houghton. [^]

We were about to head home when locus drove in the opposite direction and we didn't quite know where we were going. [?] We ended up here and we had talked about this cache earlier in the day so locus thought it would be fun for us to come and find the cache. Surprised

I had virtually visited this cache earlier in the year with GrandMentors Momentum and had read about this cache. When we arrived at GZ it took me a little while to spot the very clever cache hide. Was very pleased to have been able to come and find the cache and stamp the log, it was certainly a favourite for today. Cool

Thanks for the cache locus cache. Smile

After being crook all week, we needed to get out of the house, this showed up on the edge of a heap of yellow smileys and with a heap of favorite points, it was a no brainer. After a bit of a search of the usual kind of hidey holes and coming up with nothing we used the clue, still empty handed. After reading a few comments and thinking harder about the clue, the cache was discovered and signed. Well done on a great cache (we will add to the favorite points) and thankyou for bringing us to such a great location to see relics of a time long gone. tftc

Today the GrandMentors Momentum trackable was dropped in this cache to be discovered by a member of GrandMentors

GrandMentors Momentum is on a mission to be discovered internationally by members of the group GrandMentors.

This will give members a chance to participate in a geocaching activity in the crisis time of the Carona Virus COVID -19 .

GrandMentors is an international group of experienced geocachers that have united to help each other so they can maintain their geocaching interest as their mobility decreases.
Membership is available to interested Geocachers.

I have not had the opportunity to find this cache yet, but I also love driving up dirt roads and when there is a cache to be found all the better. Also love looking at old ruins and wondering about their history. So this one is on my list of to do's when we can finally go caching again. Big Grin

08-Dec-19
On a forecasted hot 38°C day, jesswrigley and I tried to escape to Para Wirra Conservation Park as early as a Sunday sleepin would allow, and target a cluster of traditional caches in the middle of the park. It was a combination of some drives and hikes around the area, with many lizards scamping around the place, but thankfully no long and slender animals about. An interesting park, but think this is more akin to the colder months than the hotter months, as it was looking fairly dry today. After a few hours and a loop, we escaped back to the car, and headed to the Christmas event that was taking place.

This cache was our first as we were just outside the park. Some reading of past logs had me a little unsure to what I was looking for, but used the hint, and the cache revealed itself. Very clever locus cache. Favourite Point from me, thanks for the cache placement and maintenance.

03-Nov-19
Came to search for this one today. Looked around and around and around the giant cactus, then looked inside the cactus, then searched along the brand new barbed wire fence line. Could not see what should be an easy sized cache to find. So I logged a DNF on my way back to the car. Then I read a few logs and went back and had another look. This time I spotted something I had missed the first time. And low and behold, there was the cache. And a good sized one too.

Thanks for the cache locus cache.

In town for the weekend to attend a couple of events on Saturday and Sunday...and to do a few caches as well! After checking out of our motel and having a great brekkie at Milkohlics, we made our way in caching time to the Decachelon Event at Victoria Park, after the event we headed to Para Wirra to meet up with locus cache, Marcus and Brodie to do the Multi. After thinking we where stuck in the park as the gates where shut, we were relieved to find they had an automatic opener on them to obviously let out stragglers! We decided to stop and grab this one after being prompted by the CO, who we had to call as we were having dificulties with it in the dark. Eventually found with a few clues! Very cool camo and a fav point! Took GC to move on. TFTC

Today's tour started actually in Dutton where I got picked up. Plan was to log a long solved mystery T5, the main reason for that was the climbing gear I brought over to Australia. So I finally got tol log a T5 over here aswell, together with a bunch of local cachers I met at the Nuriootpa Vine Inn on a geocaching event. Due to the heat we left early in the morning. Still it reached 35° C by the time we had logged the T5. The fire danger season was on, and with the Pinery-fires in mind we watched every step made.

After having finished that cache we went on to the multi in the area and got back to the cars later on. Then we made our way through the woods to Elisabeth (with a few stopovers), there we got dropped of and continued caching in locus cache's car. The afternoon was all about avoiding the heat and keeping the engine running as long as possible, almost 40° C is not the most optimal temperature for these kinds of adventures. Happily I got my first Australian FTF around Pt. Adelaide and came second with locus cache on three other new ones in the area. After that a pub gave us a well deserved draught and a rest from the heat. Later on I got dropped of in Nuriootpa.

All in all this has been a really successfull day with different accomplishments. I hope this is gonna be repeated in future. Thank's to all cache owners and please go on hiding these awesome geocaches. Greetings from a Swedish guy, Lukas.

P.S Thank's for showing me this place Kaye and FP deserved!

Started out on my own today with the aim of cleaning up a few on my solved but unfound puzzles list. Managed to knock three off and a few traditionals before it was time to pick up NZ guests MorganEd and Cougar hunter for the McKee CITO event. Then it was off on a caching run with locus cache joining our group.

Our furthest cache before heading back towards home. Thank you from the Anti-BBB League of cachers for removing this area from play in our ongoing battle Wink! Lovely ruins nearby, though I wish we were here during the day to admire them fully.

2505. Found with Relish64 on our Adelaide visit for a few days from Canberra.
As we drove up this road, things looked very familiar. Yes a very special place indeed. My late grandmother had grown up here when she was a child so I had visited this place on a previous visit or two when checking out the family history.
We had just parked the car and were approached by the "new" property owner and after a chat re the history, he gave us permission to have a closer look. We assured him that this would not be required and after he left we started our search. Soon after the clever hide was discovered and some photos taken for the family album.
So a big thank you locus cache for this cache and now your PT that I picked up from Ready Aim Cache has a special place in my little collection.
A favourite point for sure.
