After settling into our digs at the nearby caravan park, we needed to unwind after driving for most of the day. A very pleasant late afternoon walk to this cache. Fortunately for us, the cache was found on the ground, otherwise we may have missed it. The hiding location was now fairly obvious, so we replaced it firmly ready for the next cacher. TFTC Yowie3747
Refound while on another 1 weeks visit to Beechworth in the caravan for the school hols. Early morning walk with Poppy, the geo-dog. Log & cache in good condition. FP from me for a sneaky hide.
We are enjoying the beautiful buildings and scenery while staying in Beechworth with family.
A beautiful walk in to GZ as darkness fell. We searched the obvious places and the not so obvious - we read the logs - we tried different places more obscure and were about to give up as it was dark…… when - bingo - the cache was revealed ️
Absolutely fabulous hide……
and a favourite point
Thanks for this marvel Yowie3747

What a beauty! This one had us hunting around for a while at first. After reading through activity logs we pieced some comments together and knew what we were after... or so we thought .. right track wrong train .. but persistence paid off and voila! We finally had it. This is an extremely cunning clever hide. Well done Yowie3747! A fave pt from us.
These two caches at this end of the track have been sitting there waiting to be found for way too long. With a lunch pie date with geokid#3 and today being international geocaching day, a find was a must. We set out along the track in the cold and light misty rain, dodging the mud and trying not to slide down on our butts.
We searched, we poked and prodded, and read past logs.
We phoned a friend, who confirmed we were in the right spot.
Another look, and I found where the cache should've been. Geokid soon spotted the cache container in the leaf litter on the ground.
Log signed and cache returned as found.
Thanks for the hide.

Back in Beechworth today picking away at the few caches I have left in the area. A enjoyable walk along this trail lead me to this spot. After poking around for a bit I sat down on a nearby stump and noticed something. Sure enough it was the cache. A clever hide here FP awarded.

Completed previously as BlackOpal2005. My daughter I thought it was time to create our own accounts.
We it's time to turn this frown upside down. Finally after much lamenting and searching, there it was staring me in the face. What a great hide. Now onto the next one for the day. TFTC
Found this one during our rainy vacation in Australia. Look in the middle for this one Tftc
No good again, this one is too good for me. I will keep an eye on it. I will be back. TFTC
A visit on 17/2 located the site but retrieving needed something other than fingers. So back on 18/2 appropriately equipped and voila cache in hand. Sneaky! Replaced a very soggy disintegrating log sheet. TFTC GrahamT
Great spot! Didn’t want to touch it because there were a couple of bull ants and lots of blackberries. I’d recommend bringing some gloves and a pair of solid shoes. TFTC
A nice quick find. Holly cow, lucky us. We settled in for a long search with the gloves at the ready. 15 seconds later…found it. TFTC.
School holiday time at Christmas – hooray. A week in Beechworth in the caravan (3 times already to Beechworth) with our daughter. Sunny all week, window shopping, visiting historic sights, walking in the bush, supporting local businesses, & geocaching of course.
Found at 1600hrs by AK & JK, with the 2 geo-dogs on leads while Mrs Boomajarril took a siesta. JK spotted it in seconds - her caching eyes are honned in now. No Yowies were harmed in the retrieval of this cache. Cache replaced with Camo in place.

Day five of Beechworth camping road trip with Papi4506, Geoturtle37 & RoamingHowie, working our way through various must-dos.
Such a lovely meander along this track.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache, Yowie3747

Day #3 for me of the cache adventure with OzHockeyChick, GeoTurtle37 and Papi4506. Today we are off to hopefully complete the 4X4 wherigo.
A nice neat cache discreetly hidden away. A nice evening walk to grab this one.
Thanks Yowie3747 for the cache.

Thanks Yowie3747 for the cache.
We went for a lovely stroll this evening and managed to grab a few caches before the mosquitoes made it known that we weren't welcome. Back to camp for us. Thanks for the cache.
With so many caches to look for up here, this one was found whilst taking a stroll in the evening. Lovely meander it was to. Thanks for the cache and the walk.
Today was our second day in Beechworth, and we jumped on the bikes this morning and headed down to Everton - it's a great ride down, but it did get a bit chilly. We decided that it would be best to ride down, and then pick up caches on the way back up, giving us an excuse to take breaks whenever we came across a cache. Sadly, we got to Everton but had no mobile reception, which limited that plan. We did get coverage about half way up so grabbed a few caches on the way.
In the afternoon we set out to walk up to Lake Kerford - we didn't make it, but we did get to this cache - after a bit of scratching around ( get it ?) we finally spotted the cheeky hide, and extracted the cache and signed the log.
Thanks for the Cache Yowie

Found quickly but cache was pushed deepp inside it's hiding place. Took a pocket knife and the car keys and 10 minutes to wriggle it out. Put a wad of leaves in so that the cache didn't get stuck again.
Had a quick look on the way past but as this was my third attempt to look for this one I PAF and got more details on the way back. Seems I had looked all over this one, but the blackberries don’t encouraging scrounging around. Unfortunately the hiding spot was bare and as the CO seems to only be in intermittent action at the moment I thought I better make the effort to see if still there. Scratched around in the litter and blackberries and thankfully found the container reasonably quicker. opened to a very wet log and difficult to scratch my signature. Returned back in its hide, but might need a look occasionally.

Ah blackberry- thinking to be alert. YEP! Handsome shiny longish black snake looking straight at me but I had wandered in off the track a tad far. A careful retreat and enthusiasm for the hunt slightly diminished but not extinguished. Nice tricky to extract placement.TFTC
Firstly we took the wrong track and walked a heap of steps we didn’t need to
We searched for a while but GZ wasn’t able to be located with GPS bouncing us around 0-30m. We will come back another day

After a disastrous cherry season in young, a small group of us decided to come down to beechworth to try our hand at some apple thinning, so had set up our camp in the nearby caravan park.
Opening the map i saw a geocache a short stroll away in the bush so thought to have a gander.
The cheeky bugger was soon located and after much frustration, extracted for an autograph.
Thanks for a unique hiding of a geocache here!
This is my find number 2069.
Found about eight pm, on dusk.

Blow me down, for the life of me I can't work Reggie out. Normally he is as handy as teats on a bull, but he actually came up with the goods. I will never get over the shame. Nice cache though. Enjoyed it immensely. Gave it a favourite
If you like to read BS, read Catnaps log. Seriously, having a great time out today with Catnap in the Stanley area and in great weather. Tyfc CO.
Found on a walk with some of the Yackandandah cub pack From Lake Kerferd to lake Sambell. The Cubs love geocaching. They found it a bit hard to extract the cache but enjoyed the challenge.
Had no pen with us but Tamkaa managed to write our names with a stick dipped in blackberry juice.
Camping here and tonight I went for a little walk with master 9. Cache was found as well as plenty of mozzies so we hightailed it back after signing. Many thanks for the cache.
Camping at the holiday park we decided on a short stroll and came across this cache. Nice hide! Thanks
I originally found this cache with my Mum heymissjo, but now that I have my own account, I am logging. Thanks for the cache.
For the past few years I have cached as part of "team heymissjo", but now I am old enough to have my own account so logging the find. Thanks for the cache.
Man that was hard to extract!!!! So difficult in fact that we had to abort the mission, as muggles were approaching, and try again on the way back to the car. Took all 3 of us to pry it from nature's grip. SL and replaced as found for the next geocacher to take on the challenge! Thanks for the cache, we've had a great time exploring along this fantastic trail.
Found it TFTC. After a long break from geocaching came across this one by luck
Camped not far from this one I gave it a go in the fading light. Back the next day and it was much easier to see and the cache was found in a logical spot.
I was on leave so plans were made to head to the Beechworth area with My good Mate the Roostaman, Today the weather was perfect and we spent the day caching around the Beechworth area, there is so much history here. Thanks Yowie3747 for the cache.

Our last cache for the day which has some great camo. We have enjoyed our adventure from the centre of town along the walking trail now to make the return journey.
A very clever hide! We had it in hand and placed it back before we realised what we had. Luckily we decided to look again. TFTC.
great walk through here, even better to find a couple of caches. i will log this one and give it a favorite point. tftc.
#1855 Having just signed a new Randolph cache up the trail, we continued on to find a couple more. Surprisingly Mr BGF spotted this hide within seconds of arriving to gz. Yes we were able to log this cleverly crafted cache. Nice one Yowie, TFTC.
What a great walking track. An early morning track run whilst the family are still in bed.
Great hide, thanks.

Find #1931. Found @ 17:55
We were staying in Beechworth for the Easter break. Earlier in the day the family had ridden our bikes up here and then walked along the track looking at all the mine shafts. At that time I had a quick look for this cache after taking the completely wrong route, and then returning and taking another completely wrong (more direct) route from the end of the trail. I found a convenient fallen tree and made my was across the creek had a quick look and took the more appropriate route back to the family.
However, this time I took the bike from the previous cache and went a different way. Once on site, I looked at a lot of different things, and my GPSr was having problems settling down. Eventually I put the GPSr away and thought about where I'd put a cache and promptly found nothing. I then expanded my search area a bit and noticed something which was slightly off, which turned out to be the fantastic camouflage. This is another great cache, and gets a favourite point from me.
Now it's back on the bike to quickly get back so I can get dinner.
Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.

Found with cass whilst gramping nearby. Cass said what's that and I grabbed it. We love this cache. Well done.
Went sightseeing in historical Beechworth. and grabbed a few caches around the area.
We enjoyed finding this one, with such good camo. A favourite point from us.
Many thanks for placing this cache, Yowie3747, for us and others to find.

Found as Nicnax with PapaGrouch. Nice find for my 300th. Luckily there is a brand new bridge over the creek so I didn't have to try to jump it, I am quite sure that would have been beyond me. Nice camo on the cache. TFTC
I'm not liking the GPS today.Maybe the russian space junk that came over our area has upset it.Finally nailed it down.Great hide! The wooden bridge in your photo is now a shambles.
[:(!] Spending the weekend with my son and his family, having some spare time on my hands I went for a couple of hours of caching, parked the geocar as close as possible to GZ and walked in from there, on arrival at GZ the cache was located and it was in hand in a matter of minutes, what a missable day for caching, no rain coat, soaked to the sink, no gumboots, footwear saturated, feet frozen, fingers numb, had trouble trying to keep the log from getting, gave it away as it was to wet, was glad to get back to the car for a bit of warmth from the geocar's heater but I soldiered on to the next cache.

It came to the end of another busy day at work in Beechworth and I decided to investigate the local map and see which cache I would tick off today. I'd overlooked this one several times as it was disabled for ages but I refreshed the data on my phone tonight as saw that it was back in action. I drove to the caravan park and made the familiar walk to GZ. I located the cache quickly before retreating back to the car and taking a few happy snaps on the way. some cool fungi about at the moment!
Thanks for the cache Yowie!

A temporary cache same as the original design is placed in a more Muggle proof posirion.
Please note that if you are attempting the cache from the caravan park end of the track, that the wooden creak crossing pictured on the cache listing is no longer there, but most people should be able to leap across or you can walk through if you are not afraid of getting your feet wet.

I'm sorry to announce that on an early morning visit I discovered that this cache was nowhere to be found at GZ.
This is my first cache to be Muggled but it does not come as a surprise with this cache, being the way it was camouflaged and so close to a camping area it was at high risk. Most likely it was innocently picked up by a nearby Muggle Camper and indeed it looks like other similar objects have been collected up around GZ.
On my way to GZ, I also discovered that the small wooden foot bridge at the edge of the enchanted swamp (caravan park side) was no longer there either, so had to make a run and leaping jump to cross the creek.
I have had another cache of the same design made up ready and waiting just in case this day did come, but after a bit of a think I might replace it with a cache of a slightly different design so it doesn't befall the same fate.
I hope to have it back up and going soon.

I'm sure I was at the right waypoints and it looked like a public lane way even the caravan park was on my right however, I got abused for trespassing by a woman who claimed she opened the land and the park. I said I was leave but the abuse continued until I could no longer hear her. My first negative Geocaching experience.

Beaut day to be out and about in this area.
Haven't been here for quite a while , last time might have even been for the Heaven and Hell cache.
Parking at the walking track off Maugers Rd I made the mistake of not turning left and walking past the mine entrances, I stayed above where the track eventually faded away, and I was left strolling through the dead undergrowth. I thought it had been because of the dry few weeks we have had but it is more apparent the area has been sprayed with herbicide, wasn't 1 green thing in the undergrowth.
Got to Gz, let the pointer box do the work and once I was in 5mt range I spotted something out if the ordinary , the first thing that caught my eye and thought that had to be it.
Was pretty glad about it as I have seen a number of craft hides out of the Yowie camp, was prepared to spend a bit more time searching here, wasn't needed.
TFTC, nice area Cheers.

Yesterday, this cache find was so far away,
I couldn't find the start of the trail.
So I failed to find this cache yesterday
Today.... I was back again for another try.
I tried a different way to yesterday.
Would I find the cache along this way ?
Oh I believed that today was the day
Suddenly !! I found a place that is here today,
Looking just like the cache page said it would be
Poking around, I could hear the sound,
Of children playing all around,
But they were all a good distance away
Finding the cache, I looked in place after place,
I was running out of places,
But I believed I would find the cache
Here today, I finally saw the cache in place,
I knew it was the cache 'cos of it's place
Oh I have found a geocache [^]

Challenge Accepted!™
As seems to be the way for most, I approached from the Heaven and Hell entrance and stopped for a peek in the cave on the way past.
On arrival at GZ, the cache page made a little more sense, and I stopped for a sit and a breather. I've come to expect hides of a certain calibre from this CO, and was expecting the worst
Then, I had one of those 'Zen' moments where the whole world pauses for a moment, and everything becomes clear - and you realise that in your daze you've been staring straight at the cache for the last 30 seconds!
It was either an inspired moment, or sheer exhaustion, but I was happy to take the win either way!
TFTC, the walk and the well crafted hide.

We entered by the Heaven and Hell walking trail, so were no where near the caravan park. Nearly everything is dead from the spraying, so it gave it an eerie feel to the place.
Interesting mine shafts on the way in, unfortunately we didn't bring a torch, so no exploring today.
A quick find at GZ, as it looked a little out of place. Nice camo though.
Thanks, Robmc.

# 1913. After the two DNF's Bingley and I drove back out to see if I could find Log it if you Can. We parked near Heaven n Hell and had a lovely walk through the damp forest (it was drizzling by now) and past the happy frogs in the water holes along the way. Got to the general area of GZ and I guess the cloud cover wasn't helping today. I ruled out the blackberries and that narrowed the search. I had it in my head that I was looking for a different hide than what it was. My GPS was swinging wildly in all directions so I was amazed to actually find the cache. Yeees! And, without any help from Bingley who had decided to give me 10 minutes before starting the game of "hot or cold". GPS was tellng me 10 metres out at this stage. A lovely little walk from any of the tracks I would say. Not so nice trying to find a way in through the blackberries though. TFTC
Thought we would try for this again on the first day of daylight saving. Successful today even though we were in the right place on our first attempt. Obviously we did not look hard enough last time! A clever hide and disguise. SL at 10.29am. Took the time to walk through one of the mining tunnels on the way back to the geoHilux - fascinating. The frogs were singing a noisy chorus after the rain yesterday and everything looked fresh and clean. TFTC Yowie3747 and the pleasant walk through the enchanted forest swamp. #1294
#3230 Ahh in retrospect it would have been in our best interests to perhaps print a copy of the cache page or have the cache saved on the iphone . We were using Garmins which do not reflect the photos which would have made our way to GZ sooooooo much easier. As such we met the caretaker of the caravan park who was more than happy for us to park our vehicle near the walking track (as long as he is asked he is more than obliging) - the problem was, we parked at the wrong walking track with the wrong bridge. So after getting a good buttocks workout going up the stairs and contour lines we realised that GZ was back down near the creek. Mmmmm, back down the hill and stairs to check if we missed a walking track by the river - nope. Back up the contours and those buttock muscles were really working now - in true skullracing fashion it was then cross country through the sprayed blackberry. Dad took one way across the creek but the Queen didn't trust her balance so took another route upstream. By the time she arrived at GZ, Dad had the very nicely crafted cache in hand. This was a great adventure despite our bushbashing - we found, as is our way , the easy path out. Great fun, thanks so much Yowie3747
Pheww that was an effort! Didn't actually have to use the photos, just tried looking a bit harder, in a place I thought I'd looked at before. Very nice hide - co-ords now much better but GPS still is quite fluky in the tall forest. FTF at 11.35am. Thanks for the cache, Yowie! ( and the coffee...)

When I arrived at the starting point, I was surprised to see so many tents set up at the starting point blocking the view and the way of getting to the bridge and path. When I placed the cache there were no campers at all but that was before the school holidays began. I was there before anyone was awake and was able to sneak past.
So during peak camping season you may have to venture in from the other end of the Heaven and Hell Walking Track (I will add a way point for this later), but please continue on to enjoy a walk through the Enchanted Forest Swamp.
With all the trees around the readings were jumping about but after standing for awhile was able to get accuracy down to 6m, which is a bit better than when it was hidden. So I have updated the co-ordinates and have arranged seating for four with in a few metres of the cache.
I hope this makes it easier.

Spent 3/4s of an hour here, like harrowang GPS pointing 1 metre from any direction but no luck. I just wonder if co-ords are totally spot-on?
It's much easier to walk in past Heaven and Hell from Mauger Rd - the caravan park is full of potential muggles.....

Spent quite a time trying to find a path at the back of the Caravan Park to this cache. Decided there must be another way and ended up on the track that goes past Heaven & Hell cache. Our GPS and iPhones had us within 1 mtr of GZ but we were unable to put our eyes or hands on the cache. We walked in from Maugers Rd which is past the Caravan Park a little way towards Stanley. Looks like this one lives another day without a find.
