Nice to turn a frown into a smile. Lovely day for a boat ride. With the log signed and the cache replaced it was time to leave. Onwards to the next cache. Woot, that is not to far.I would like to show my respect and acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land, and their continuing connection to it. I wish to pay my respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and to Elders past, present and emerging. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun.Blockheads Unite in 2025.
Solved the historical puzzle questions a few nights ago. Came here to complete this geocache by logging my smiley find. And its my 2250th find so far. Advice to fellow geocachers, you might want to avoid mealtimes scheduled at various eateries. Had to be so obvious, for consumers to look away . Thanks Gaztek
Found with Portstevo who did the solve, tftc, a few muggle fishers around but the low light helped
I'll be honest, I have no idea when I solved this puzzle. But the final location is great! And well hidden as well! TFTC!
For my birthday this year my daughter gave me a memory caching day out together, today was that memory day. We caught the train nice and early, and the weather turned out great. I solved this before I left home and then at GZ we searched and searched for quite a while, I was ready to give up and get some lunch but once again today, my daughter was determined and made the find. The cache was a nice quick find here. Thanks for the cache tnln replaced as found sl
Apologies to cachers. This has been back in place for a few weeks. Just forgot to do the online activation. Cache on! Cheers... Gaztek
Unfortunately, the container has been muggled. Will replace before long.Happy New Year to all! Cheers.. Gaztek
Solved a while ago and found the cleverly hidden cache this morning. TFTC! Favourite for the nice cache
Sydney Day 7: McMahons Point - South Head - Everleigh - Sydney Park - Belmore
Today’s agenda was a whirlwind of a journey, as I had promised to bring my partner over to Watsons Bay (which I have touted as my favourite place in Sydney) and them, later, to have dinner with the in-laws over in Belmore. That meant that there was a lot of travelling to be done today, on top of clearing up some of the outstanding caches on my Sydney to-do list. So, round and round I go, by ferry, light rail and train to complete another fruitful caching day.
(End of the cut and paste bit)
Next order of the day was to settle a pair of caches at McMahons Point, so I hopped of the ferry here to this scenic lookout where I could enjoy the brilliant view and pick up this equally brilliant cache. I have been watching this one for a while, and had actually “found” it on Streetview, so the grab here was very quick. Thanks for the puzzle, in which I learnt a little bit more of the “colourful” history of this place, and of course, the cache!

We've had a report of damage to the container. Will check it out and arrange a replacement before long. Cheers... Gaztek
We enjoyed a walk around McMahon's Point today whilst caching. A very well disguised cache. Thank you Gaztek
We tried to solve the puzzle in the UK, but couldn’t get the geochecker to agree. Today we found ourselves in the area, so asked the CO for help. The CO very rapidly and graciously confirmed our coordinates. A case of fat fingers, or stupidity on our part. We know not, but suspect the latter. Walked down from North Sydney in the sun. Delightful views all round. Don’t understand the hint (an antipode term?). Never mind. All good with the cache. Many, many thanks to the CO, her sunshine manner and her tolerance of us dumb Poms.
Just removing the Needs Maintenance attribute as we sorted the issue back in November 2022. Cheers... Gaztek
This was an interesting puzzle which I solved last week. At gz it took a few minutes to realise where the cache was. Clever hide so a fp. Tftc
Nothing found here. I have had three visits in the past couple of days and did not find a cache. Did not find the hint clue either so it seems I have lost my mojo.
TFTC from the Kayakviking!
Forgot to log this one. Assisted Anvic with some transport for their find.
Did take me twice on previous visits but some landscaping helped clear the situation. Still there.

Puzzle solved at home in Adelaide before my Christmas holiday in Sydney. After a nice lunch at the Blues Point hotel with Kayakviking we went off to locate the cache. After a couple of false starts, google was my friend and soon had the cache in hand and the log signed. Luckily not a busy day at this spot. TFTC
Beautiful location for the final cache! There was some sort of wedding nearby on the grass, photo shoots and such. Luckily the cache was far enough away for me to to disrupt!
Unfortunately the cache itself is in dire need of maintenance. I actually found the cache lying upside down on the bare ground. Extremely shocking that it was actually here and hadn’t been cleaned up as rubbish! Given the location it’s amazing it was just lying on the ground…!
After signing the log (nothing needed to open it up either, just pulls open), I replaced the cache as best as I could. It was quite difficult however as only 1 magnet is currently helping to hold it in place. I attempted to position the magnet in the centre, as this worked best, but the risk of it falling off again is still there, and it’s a bit wonky / loose.
Thanks for the cache

After Covid caused the repeated cancellation of a family trip to Canberra, we had some flight credits banked that were soon to expire. So to use them I booked a trip to Sydney with my wife, for an extended weekend getaway from Brisbane, and some caching thrown in to the mix.
This was our third day in town. I had the best of intentions of heading out for a Park Run this morning but the idea of a sleep-in won out over fitness in the end. We did head out for a couple of caches just out of the CBD before heading back to Circular Quay for a relaxing and scenic ride on the F4 ferry along the various stops. We doubled back along the same route and hopped off to collect this cache, which I had solved prior to our trip. GZ threw me for a moment but I soon spotted the bold hide and was adding my name to the logbook shortly after. One of the attachments has come loose which meant replacing the cache in the correct orientation and keeping it that way was a little difficult. TFTC

Well your very fun and interesting puzzle cache is 10 years old today.
I read all about the Commodore, quite the character, and passed the checker, now all I have to do is convince Mrs UBAD to come for a visit.

In Sydney with Spiffy- after a long road trip and had been at Luna Park for the day. Looked at GZ which I had previously stored, but no luck. Then thought to gecheck it for a hint but it didn't check... hmmm. Thought to quit then a random search and it was about 15m from what I had a my solved GZ! Wow lucky find.
Thanks to Gaztek for the fun and the adventure.
Thanks to Gaztek for the fun and the adventure.
Think I'm terribly out of practice after covid downtime...am having a very high ratio of DNFs to finds. Even with everyone else saying it was a quick find. Lovely stroll nonetheless
Found this one in a short break in the rain. Logbook is dry- thanks for the maintenance here. Great shot of the harbour bridge nearby. Had to dodge some:
1. Fishermen
2. Ferry-goers
3. Smoko-breakers
4. A dude pacing back and forth nervously and erratically
All in all a solid cache TFTC!!

Log is way to wet to sign after the torrential rains but nice views and camo. It looks like there was something else there before but it’s fine. TFTC
My last day in Sydney so I planned a crazy geocaching route around some coves and bays.
I solved this one last night knowing I would be here today. I search, gave up, sat and waited for my ferry and read some previous logs. Hidden in plain sight. Huh. I went back out and within seconds had the cache in hand. I had even tried this the first time with no joy!

Out for few finds this afternoon, so decided to target a traditional, a multi and a puzzle. The puzzle I've had solved for quite a while, so decided it was time to go for it.
Got all three I went for despite cache blindness at one and doubts about some numbers at another.
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
Ended the day with a puzzle I've had sitting in the solved pile for some time - interesting info on the Commodore BTW. I think the last time I was in the area it was offline for maintenance.
No such problem today.
Parked where I have parked before and walked to GZ. A few muggles around, but not so many I had issues.
Spotted something suss after a minute or two - the camo was slightly disturbed. Timed my grab and took a short distance to complete signing duties. Returned and replaced a bit better than I found it, but not 100% happy. Maybe something's not quite right with the camo.
But glad to make the find here at last, and to be brought to this spot.
Have a favourite.

Took a little while to do the who and get the numbers.
Just out for a drive and signed on a sunny day.

Arrived at GZ on our way back to catch a ferry. To our horror, the ferry had arrived. Do we catch it or stay to find the cache.. umm err umm err.. cache wins. We are glad we decided to miss the Ferry because in return we found a cleverly camod cache, got to spend some time on a chair viewing what is quite possibly one of the best views of the harbour we've seen.. And to top it off we watched a guy pull off an elaborate proposal topped of with words written in rose petals and a habourside picnic.. And after all that the next ferry was only a few minutes away. A lovely end to a great day caching over the bridge. Fav point awarded
Nice container! Log in great condition.
Great day out, solved a while ago and picked up in between an AL and a letterbox.
Thanks Gaz!

After a visit to North Sydney for business purposes it was time for some caching for pleasure. Had this one pre solved so was off to my coordinates to see what I could find. Thankfully had the CIH after a short search. Disturbed an earwig in the process who had decided to be a cache guardian at some point in his life. Cache and log are in good condition. SL and replaced as found.
An excellent little puzzle cache that I enjoyed a lot. TFTC!

OCW Calypos62 on our e-bikes today.
Over this side of the harbour now to pick up this one.
The commodore is a relative of my family. I learnt more about him again.
I just love caches when they are out in the open.
Signing duties completed, placed back as found.

Quiet when walking past on a day off work to be able to log easily. Great cache.
Wow what an amazing geocache. Solved puzzle pretty quickly which was very fun and collected the cache. Brilliant camo which must have took some time to make. Stunning views-one of the best in Sydney. Thanks for the cache and puzzle Gaztek. TFTC TNLNSL
The container has been muggled. Thanks for the heads-up, EMS_Squared. Will replace before long. Cheers.... Gaztek
I picked a perfect Sydney day to come and find this one. Was able to solve the puzzle much quicker than some of the RMS ones that I got stuck on!! Great camo...cache in excellent condition. Thanks!
This isn't too far from home, I've walked here with geodog, had drinks in the Commodore, but the cache well I haven't even tried it in all the years I've been caching.
In the beginning I thought it was way too hard for me, and then I began to venture further from home and forgot about it.
Yesterday I rescued the neighbours escapee dog (see photo, the curly one) and while I was keeping an eye on him and waiting for them to come home I looked at this puzzle.
After 4000+ finds of experience it was easy to solve!
Well fancy that, I even know a descendant of The Commodore!
Today I went down to grab the cache.
Probably better anyway as there's a lot less muggles around these days, I know where to park the geomobile, was able to time the nearby public transport to allow me to search in peace.
I looked around, couldn't understand the hint (still can't) but spotted something - couldn't be that could it?
Yep, it could!
On the way home I made a quick stop at the original home of The Commodore.

Met up with teamMerlin and TARDIS 0061 to get a few caches in the Milsons Point / North Sydney area. Came back here after failing to find it last week what with too many people around and trying to work out an acronym. Today it was a quick find after I had the cache in my hand and I looked but didn't really look last week
With cache in hand we signed the log and replaced as found. Both the cache and log are in good condition. Thanks for bringing me to the area and thanks for placing the puzzle and the cache and for bringing me here twice Gaztek

Found with Anominous Sign on 30/08/2020. He found the previous incarnation of this cache, so when my answers did not match his, we were a bit confused. Always love a sneaky hide. TFTC.
I found this a year ago in its previous spot. An enjoyable mystery and a really well designed container.
I'm glad I got to come back here with Sandysa and find the new, but equally sneaky hide. TFTC!

Really enjoyed this. Didn’t understand the hint but at GZ there was really only one option. Wait for the coast to be clear and went for it. Yes. CIH. Great cache. Fav point. SL. TNLN. TFTC.
After working out the coords we headed to GZ, right at sunset too which meant super nice views (but I’m sure they are nice at anytime of the day) and soon enough had cache in hand (thanks again to the keen eyes of Starfish). The hint helped! TFTH
I finally got around to solving this puzzle and had the correct Commodore in no time. I even recognised him from his caching ancestor.
So a trip over the big bridge from The Shire bridge, brought me to a lovely afternoon on the harbour. At GZ I spotted the camo instantly. So obvious to a cacher, but muggles, no way!
Quickly grabbed, signed and replaced discretely with no one none the wiser, as the sun was getting ready to set. Glorious spot. TFTC

My opal card is copping a caning today ... this is my 11th ferry ride today going in search of caches close to ferry wharves. Luckily, all the ferry rides are free as I had alteady spent my $2.50 maximum daily fare on a train ride to the city.
I'd worked this one out ages ago but when I pulled up the listing enroute, I noticed that I had to do the puzzle again. I found a seat nearby and since I already knew who the mystery man was, I soon had worked out the revised coords for GZ ... and was blown away when I saw that I was sitting less than 4m from GZ ... and could even see the telltale signs of a hide in front of me. Wow, what luck!
Thanks for a nice puzzle Gaztek and for putting together a nicely camoed hide, one that's stares you right in the face.

Worked out the coords last night in preparation for hitting the area this afternoon. Good fun. TFTC
This geocache should be back in business very soon. Please take note that that questions and GZ coordinates have slightly changed. Cache on! Cheers.... Gaztek
OK, half of the replacement is now in place. Construction of the container is currently being engineered. Cheers... Gaztek
Still working on a replacement. Hope to have it there for school holidays. Cheers... Gaztek
Oh my! A cache check yesterday revealed.... nothing!! The container has gone missing. Perhaps the Commodore came and sailed away with it! Will likely be disabled until mid-November as we will be travelling soon. Hang in there, it will return. Cheers... Gaztek

Finally!!!! I solved this puzzle back in early 2013 when I still lived in Europe. I then visited Sydney in 2013 and 2015 and on both instances I did not manage to find the cache. After moving to Sydney, I had another go last year without much success.
But today I was more successful, after increasing my search radius. The clevery hidden cache was found in good order, but I could not get the damp logsheet out, so a photo instead which I will not post in order not to spoil the fun.

Worked this one out petty quickly, thankfully I've done the RMS forgotten series. So headed off after work for a long walk over the bridge and down to the GZ also collecting some info for a nearby multi. At the GZ I reached for an object which surprised me but thinking of the hint I soon realised I'd made the find. A little difficult to extract the log but I finally grabbed a bit and completed SL duties before heading off to the ferry for the short boat trip home. TFTC Gaztek #782
I have never been to this point before. What a great spot. Saw cache on approach then I thought we needed a TOTT but no. Log signed
Did the puzzle got the cords today we had a chance to get very clever hide had a der moment for a minute the it all fell in place
Solved the mystery yesterday and headed down to grab the cache this morning. Great view from GZ and I really enjoyed the unique container. Thanks for the puzzle and hunt!
We'd worked out the puzzle and coords before coming here, and then began the hunt, firstly to get to the place, and then to find the cache. Having found it, we worked on opening it for a while - being not of engineering bent, it took us a while (a lot longer than it should have - it really was obvious!). But we got there. It does help to read the hint! Tftc!
Solved this one a few days ago and on my cycle home I decided to swing by GZ to grab it. Had a long old look around and soon found something which seemed slightly out of place. Hands on and I managed to get the log book out and signed TFTC
Can honestly say I’ve found that missing commodore, not I shall remember the info in retrieving the puzzle quite some time ago, but finally I made it to this part of Sydney to collect a few hides.
Noticed something out of place at the chosen GZ, fav from me Gaztek, awesome achievement in this puzzle.

Last day caching in Sydney for this trip. So onto the northside for a bit of a romp around. This was one of the caches found during that expedition.
zboy and i solved the needed from armchair comfort last evening. Arrived at GZ with much anticipation. Soon the odd, out of place, and quirky caught my eye.
I deployed the trusty special GC tool, after which, and during reassembly I realised that the cache comes equipped with its own very special tool. Good one.
Straightforward find. Cache in order. Log signed. All re-hidden, safely, just as found.
I visited here with team cacher zboy wonder.
Gets a fave point from me for the brazenness of the hide and the quirkiness of the cache, plus a great location. Good one.
TFTC and the great view point.

Sydney’s beautiful harbor called to me on my second of three days prior to my cruise departure...
After visiting Milsons Point (and finding a fun library multi), I took the incredibly short ferry ride to McMahons Point. I didn’t need the GPS as I had scoped out overhead imagery. I walked right up and found the container. Then I fumbled a bit before signing the log. Thanks for an interesting history lesson, an excuse to hop another ferry, and a creative hide. Favorite!

#1500!!! Beautiful location and great little cache. Had this puzzle worked out a while back and decided it was a nice night to come out and collect. Upon approach there was a man who had brought his own chair and was sitting right at gz, used our stealth and collected. Walked away to a nice location for a photo. Fave point awarded. Tftc
Having solved the co-ords last year, Oldmorty and I had been waiting for an opportunity to find this cache and today was the day. As there was nowhere to park nearby, I dropped oldmorty off to search and I stayed in the car. I'm afraid we had to PAF for help. A bit more searching by oldmorty had him coming up trumps with CIH. What a great cache. Very clever. TFTC Gaztek
Solved the co-ords for this cache last year but this was the first chance to tackle the find. Frazeydaze dropped me near GZ and while I searched she did a few laps up and down the street. With a little intel from a family geocacher it wasn't too long before this very clever cache was in the car for log signing duties etc. TFTC Gaztek and definitely worthy of a fav point.
What a great cache!!
Had solved it before it was changed, came today to the old coordinates to realize that they are no longer the valid ones.
Made the calculation on the site, and soon cache was in hand
A great camo, and the tool provided is just great!!

I have to recall when I completed the first part - it's been a while with many visits to North Sydney since. The puzzle was an enjoyable trot through the research pages.
Today, before reaching its expected 37 degrees, I left the hotel and ventured down the hill - it was already getting warm. At GZ, it was a quick find, before signing the log (clever container). Another log mentioned that the spot was obvious to a cacher, but would be completely overlooked by a muggle - definitely agree. An enjoyable cache in a nice area -a Fave. TFTC Gaztek

When I found the cache I thought "Oh no, I've not got something important", but then I found the important bit.

Solved this mystery quite a while ago, but did not get to collect the cache. Decided we will come out to Blues Point tonight to get it and while we are here find the new one that just popped up as well.

After a short search with Mr Google, I found The Commodore, and then I extracted a bit of information.
Then a pleasant walk down to a clever cache. TNLNSL TFTC

Over from Western Australia for Mrs Copwats birthday staying in North Sydney i had solved the puzzle in WA, we visited Bondi and the cross then took the ferry from circular key to the point gps wouldn't settle however a keen eye spotted the cache . Loved the puzzle its a shame school history wasn't this interesting a great tale and a lovely twist to the the cache very much enjoyed this one and the views from it. TFTC
A great and thoughtful hide in a beautiful Sydney location. Really worth an explore around here if you like beautiful houses. Does John Travolta still own one near here?

This cache proved to be in one of the more picturesque parts of Sydney. I had found several earlier in the morning and decided to have lunch nearby. The cache itself has an interesting twist to it. Well worth a favourite award.

Today I'm out laying in the grass and catching some sunshine with my muggle friend Vijay. I made him write the digits to the coords on his phone while I searched online. Then I left my things with him so I could wander off to hunt for it. Spotted it as soon as I walked up to it. It looks out of place to a geocacher but to a muggle, it wouldn't get a second look! Crafty hide in a brilliant spot!
