I am regretfully archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in a prior reviewer note.
Hi Royal_Wulff
This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).
I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.
Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.
Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.

Walking the Paparoa track with sister in law for her 50th. Unfortunately the rest of the group were not cachers and I couldn't spend a lot of time searching. The third day weather was even better than the first couple of days.
I had purposely headed off a few minutes earlier from our coffee break so that I could search for this one and hopefully have it signed prior to everyone getting to GZ.
Unfortunately not and uncharacteristically the others downed packs to assist with this search but to no avail. I called it and we headed on our way.
Mrs NZT says we will have to comeback!!!!!

Gps died as I was on the way. Got enough life for the hint but had to use phone which is useless. Found a possibility but very wet. Try again next time and remember the spare batteries.
Found with kimmy+co with the help of madcow2 and victoriousone. This is definitely a lot further than a few metres from the track. The area is getting very overgrown and it was pretty soggy underfoot, but we found it nicely tucked away, safe and dry.
Well that was an adventure. The CO is a name from the past, and the cache was a good old fashioned size. The track here has perhaps moved quite a bit, as the description/hint are no longer correct, as it was pretty much midway between two parts of the track - about 10-13m from either, and pretty much as accessible from either. Didn't see any nasty holes in the area. Took quite a while to find as there were a few more hint locations further higher than where I finally found it. Thanks.
Spending the winter woofing, tramping and exploring the west coast caching along the way ..of course..
Spending the next wee while based in punakaiki as I landed a bit of work..
Hitting the track for a few days while the rain has stopped..
Last day of an awesome tramp...made sure to have time to search for this one , had to wait for a couple of muggles to go passed before heading off track, hadn't search this place last time so was very happy to turn the frown upside down tftc

Reading previous logs was helpful so I bashed in, off-track through the undergrowth to locate this one. A good hint, good coordinates and a good sized container made for a straight forward find. Thanks Royal_Wuff.
Not surprised I missed it the first time! Interesting seeing the line of the old track, cache is all good.
Decided to go for a walk up this track and turn around at the junction as we are going to ride a bit of the track tomorrow. We are going to turn around after finding this cache. This one took a little while as the track has changed since this cache was placed. Cache nicely tucked in. TFTC
We were keen to explore the start of the Paparoa trail after talking with one of the DOC workers at Punaikaiki. This one was further off trail and there were plenty of places that matched the hint, but after a systematic search we found this cache tucked away. TFTC
Hmmm, I suspect the track has moved and now it's more like 10m away from the new track. A bit of a wander around and back and forth and finally spotted a corner of it - huzzah! Cheers
Just wandering the loop track on a beautiful New Year’s Day on the coast.

Found on 6 weeks long holiday.
Took me 10 mins to find it. It seemed to me like more than only couple of meters from track, but I guess just bad assumption.

Coming towards the end of my three-day, 55km tramp along the Pararoa Track and have now reached part of the 'original' Punakaiki end, I guess.
I fell into the trap of stopping at the 'current' junction opposed to the original junction but ended up putting faith in my GPS...got there eventyally

I'm out hiking the Paparoa Track from Smoke-Ho carpark through to Punakaiki. A beautiful walk with great weather the entire time. Stopped to look for this cache while walking out from Pororari Hut on my last day, making a fairly quick find at GZ. TFTC!
Was pleased to meet the river here and enjoy the new scenery. The cache didn't take long to locate. TFTC
On our way up the west coast during our 3 week SI trip. Beautiful landscape and river. This cache was our intended turning destination but we felt compelled to explore more! Ended up at the swing bridge and then making a loop with the Inland Track. Weren't quite prepared for the rain that hit us later in the walk though! Struggled with this one. Found old trail easily but between muggles, heat and restless geokids this cache beat us. Note to other users the trails on geocaching app currently show old Inland Pack Track route - not the new route - they meet up further up the track before the saddle though.
We decided on a day trip to Punakaiki and surrounding area, there was an Adventure Lab there and a couple of caches which would need a decent walk to.
This is one of those two caches and one that has been ignored for too long. My excuse is that we have always been just passing through when caching and this was the first time we made a dedicated trip with specific caches in mind. We had been along the Pororari River to find caches but never came this far. Today we walked the Inland Pack Track from the Punakaiki River over to here.
While searching for this cache several groups of trampers went past and so intent on their own activities not one of them noticed us clambering around "off track".
Hazedarus found this one while I was emptying some debris out of my shoe.
Thank you Royal_Wulff.

It was a Lab Cache that enticed us to once more visit Punakaiki and Paparoa NP. This time we aimed for a lonely cache at the saddle between Punakaiki and Pororairi Rivers and this one. Just Cave Creek now and we have the area cached out. The new track deviates substantially from the original but at this stage the odd bit of gravel and the old water tables show the way. By now it's a scramble and a bit of a bash. Thank you Royal Wulff
At a beautiful sunny and warm day, we enjoyed the river walk and magnificent nature around us. While yesterday I had 2 DNFs, this cache was found quickly and in good shape. TFTC
Last day of our bike ride through the newly opened Paparoa Track. This is a Great Walk now and full credit to DOC for this great asset to be enjoyed by trampers and mountain bikers. From what we saw over the last few days both party's seemed to be in harmony with each other - great stuff. Soon had cache in hand and all good here. As mentioned it is just off the old track but still able to be found with ease.

afternoon walk up to the swingbridge. pleased to find this cache as only had location to go on due to the poor signal. find the old plank seat and look hard for the old foot track going up hill as it is not on the new bike track. co ords were spot on for me. tftc amazing forest and views of the cliffs on the walk in.
Found after a thorough search. The track has been removed & a new track is running close by so the cache is at least 5 to 10 metres off the track now. Find #575
Having done as much of what we could of the eastern end of the new Paparoa Great Walk, decided to get a feel for the western end. Walked in to the junction, found the cache after a bit of searching and then crossed the bridge and returned via the bike track to the road. bad mistake as that involved a long walk along various roads.
Container was out in the open, so placed it in the obvious hole and replaced the telltale.

I have just moved over to the South Island from Australia. Hoping to live and explore the country over the next few years and find a lot of caches on the way. Cheers for the hides.
The storms had rolled in and were hitting us hard. So a lot of the days were now spent in the van hiding away from the he. And when it cleared up we got out and stretched the legs by caching. Thanks.

Visiting from NJ in the US. Having fun on the tropical like hike. Log is wet. Tftf SL
On our vacation trip through New Zealand we passed by here too.
Many thanks for the cache and best regards from Munich / Germany

#3094 Going back to the camp , we did the Punakaiki and Ponorari river track with kids. Thanks for the cache, greetings from Czech Republic.
Where did we go? Coming from Pororari River, turning to Punakaiki River here. Quick and easy find.

Everything there is really overgrown with a lot of farn / wood / holes in the floor and i didnt dare to leave the trail there. Way too risky for me.
Thank you Royal_Wulff for showing me this place! Found easy as the coords are very accurate.

Schade!

A great walk, from the street to. The first swingbridge. Always views on the river and the walls of the canyon. Highly recommended!
The cache was quite difficult- too many possible options. And the location my GPS sent me to was totally in linw with the hint. When I nearly gave up I looked a bit away, more where the dot on the map said it should be - and finally I had it. Uff.
Thanks for the box at that nice hike,

We left early for a hiking trail along the river and on the way we looked for some caches. The weather was fine and it was going to be a hot day so an early start was a good thing to do.
The way to go was clear, first a short hike to the bridge and then back and on to Inland Pack trail. And that is where we found this cache.

Tree was facing the opposite way to how I imagined it, but was a quick grab with the help of the hint. Lots of hiking muggles so had to pick my moment!
After visiting the Pancake Rocks, I felt like getting away from the tourist masses and walked from Punakaiki River along the Inland Pack Track to this junction. As time was running late, I decided to follow the Pororari River and head back to Punakaiki. Would do the Bullock Creek part tomorrow
The search took some time, but as the container is not on dangerous grounds, the possible hides are limited.
Thanks a lot for the cache, Royal Wulff!

Found on a walk through the forest. After the GPS settled down, the container was soon spotted.

Due to the rain, we walked a part of the Inland track instead of hiking up the the Ballroom. Really nice track! Although the rain was pretty heavy... Didn't have a lot of time to search for the cache, so I didn't find it. Will be back for it one day!
Found this cache after a walk down the amazing Pororai river track. We also made the pleasant discovery of a very large Weka that was strutting about the path and foraging in the underbrush.
The actual find went to dad, who doesn't have a geocaching profile - but the log was signed in the name of the Wiltshire-aCampo family as well.
The log was quite damp but still useable, but the pens provided were out of order - fortunately we had our own.

What a lovely track. It's a pity about all the trees down in the Easter storm - windfall everywhere, but still a lovely place. Thanks! J&G
After a 3km walk we luckily found this cache. The spot wasn't that nice, but we loved the walk to it. TFTC!
A gorgeous spot although it was rather ravaged by recent storms. We scrabbled around and found it quite quickly, then ran out to the sea. What a fun circuit and such an easy track.
On a tour of the south island and Punakaiki has been recommended as a place to visit. There was time for a morning walk before going to see the rocks and thankfully there were some caches along the way to keep me busy. There was a very friendly little robin at this site and he stopped in for a visit and to peck at my shoelaces. They are a hideous yellow and brown combination so possibly he thought they were some nice juicy worms. Unfortunately not. Nice hide.
First a short view for the swinging bridge, then we found the cache.

I was walking the Inland Pack Track and found this Cache on the way. The track is one of my fravourites in New Zealnd. It was a good adventure with the river crossings or can you say crossings? I walked a part in the stream bed without crossing it! River walking fits better I think.

We continued on to this cache from Sanctuary of the Century, although in retrospect we should have approached it from The Pororari Archway, which although further, would have avoided going down then reclimbing the hill. Fortunately it was a quick easy find. TFTC
