Cache was set up when one of dean-crew kids was very keen on caching. He has since lost interest in maintaining so I will archive.

02-Jan-18
Nearly a year since last found

10-Oct-17
Need to check cache.

25-Aug-17
Not too sure about this one; a few DNF's but may be just really well hidden. Had to give up the search after about 10 minutes as a muggle with dog seemed to be eying me with great suspicion. Try again some other time.

18-Jun-17
DNF

15-Mar-17
Hmmm

07-Feb-17
Spent a while here looking but couldn't find it Sad Grass mower then appeared so I left.
Interstign note: The nearby corridor is actually part of the park and if it was cleaned up would provide access from Dominion Road.

26-Jan-17
#284. I was bracing myself for a long and frustrating search. As it happened, it took me a matter of seconds, as the cache was in the first place I looked. A very clever idea for a cache. Nice work! TFTC.

10-Jan-17
Pleasant walk across the park this morning on a wee detour on my way to work. Looked where I thought would be a great hide but no. Circled round and there, that looks unusual and there was that "a-ha" moment. Nice camo. Also gets an FP from me.

28-Dec-16
We circled a couple of times before spotting the cache. We have the same cache container of our own back home! Nice little park to go for a wander through. As we were walking back we saw another couple heading in the direction of the cache!! We watched them find the cache from afar. Log signed b&p. Find number 4103.
Thanks for the cache dean-crew.

28-Dec-16
was out with lokky1 picking up some caches this one was so close i had walk down, had a wee hint from lokky but he couldnt remember exactly were but i spotted likely zone straight away cache in hand wile lokky was still trying to remember n looking yaay, tftc

22-Dec-16
I checked on this cache today. It is a little damaged, but it can still be found and retrieved. I will work on making a replacement after the New Year.

10-Dec-16
Was at the nearby Scout Hall for the Xmas Geo Quiz, so made the effort afterwards to go in search of this one. Was with a previous finder, who enjoyed our circling and completely missing the hiding location. Helefant's son spotted the item that looked out of place (only because the camo is starting to wear off). This was such a great cache, and I missed it. Merlot58 laughed at how many times my head passed by.

10-Nov-16
Very clever hide. Thanks and greetings from Latvia!

This cache was my #1989 and was found at 08:54

08-Nov-16
Damage done in retrieval.

Couldn't remove with fingers. Slaters going everywhere. Slug wriggled out. But camo broke in process. Great concept, but might require solid fill or layers of varnish or something?

Cheers for adding to the game. SLTNLN

08-Nov-16
Second attempt at this cache.
Lovely afternoon, a tad bit windy. Reminds me of Wellington wind.
Took a stick to where we thought the cache would be. Didn't realise that what we tried to dislodge was the cache. Amazing idea for a camo!!

28-Oct-16
Thought I'd give this a crack on my lunch break. Not having much luck at all today.
Will give it another go later

13-Sep-16
#2700. Well its been a couple of attempts here in the past without any luck. I was in Auckland again and had a day of leave owing so headed out to target a few select geocaches. This was one of them. I know this group of trees pretty well now and after a good 5-10 mins searching, I know them a lot better. I really must be going blind as I just could not see this cache for quite a while. The cobwebs certainly helped with the camouflage. But eventually I saw it and once seen it was so obvious I really can't see how I have overlooked it. Extracting it from its lair was a bit tricky but I got there eventually and signed the logbook. A really clever cache. Well done and a favourite.

24-Jul-16
This was our second try to find it. Even we had a good idea what it would look like, it took quite long to actually find it - but what a cool idea! Best camouflage we have seen so far... Thank you dean-crew!

19-Jul-16
Phew, 3rd time lucky, 3rd times a charm. After a nudge we finally had this in our hot little hands today. Don't know how we didn't spot it before, as I did have some idea of what we were looking for originally. Great camo - earns a fav point. TFTC

17-Jun-16
I had some spare time today so decided to do a spot of caching and opened up C:geo to se this one had been missed on an earlier visit to the area, so decided to rectify this matter...

Pulled into the car park to be greeted by groundsman, so made the decision to fin some other caches and return... on the return visit the way was clear, so a quick dash across the park to start the search... and I search, and I search...I had an idea what I was looking for, but it was just not presenting itself....
Just about to call it a day and head back to a school event for EIR-0T the find was made...FHEW!!!.

TFTC and a fav point deserved for this one.
Razz

12-Jun-16
After a sluggish start we managed to find this cheeky little delight. Such an awesome find. Definitely a fav! Found yesterday with the doctor(11/06/16). A great one for his 250th cache. TFTC.

11-Jun-16
Great little cache took a while to find but once we worked out the clue the cache was in our hands shortly after. Emzyme and the doctor

24-May-16
A cheeky little morsal indeed. Outstanding. Thanks.

30-Apr-16
Too tricky for me, spent half an hour during daughter's soccer practice. Think i understand the clue, but .... Maybe I'll come back with my GPS rather than phone

28-Apr-16
I've had my eye on this cache for a while now and had a fairly good idea the theme of the cache. So at GZ today I had a good search with no luck. There was just so much leaf cover that I really doubted I would spot it. After a solid search I decided that I would have to come back later. Then I spotted something suspicious. What are you doing there you delectable little morsel??? Obviously hiding a cache! Woot! Glad to have spotted this one, and I'm very impressed with the creativity of the hide. Earns a favorite from me! TFTC! #916

17-Apr-16
Our second visit to this cache, this time with our new gps which is much more accurate than the phone. Have no idea about this one - saw several "out of the ordinary" things but just cannot find the cache. Don't have any caching friends so paf isn't an option. Kept going for well over 30 mins but nada. This one will keep calling to me as my Gran's backyard backs onto the field. I can see GZ from her house. Will have to wait until we are a bit more experienced and hope that future logs give us some insight.

09-Apr-16
I think I've looked for this one three times in the past. - - - I didn't have a clue. I was even thinking maybe I should plan a visit when there's an event because I'd noticed that's sometimes when it gets found Wink. Today was looking to be the same old same old but then wait a minute. - - - There it was!!! A great feeling and ha him - - - how did I miss the hint!!!!! Thanks for the great hide Big Grin.

04-Apr-16
I returned today to have another look for this delicate little delicacy and after 10 mins of searching I was beginning to despair that I would ever find it. I had just hit the send button on a txt to a friend for some help when I spied something out of the corner of my eye. Could it be? Yes!! Whew, glad to have finally knocked this one off my list and fp added

02-Apr-16
I was out for dinner in Sandrigham in an popular indian restaurant with two friends and we had a 20 mins wait to be seated. I was the only geocacher in the group and tought it could be a good way to kill some time.
Open my app and saw that only 1km away there was what seemed like a very popular cache hide.
Headed towards it, but we got a call saying our table was ready... Well, let's leave it for the after dinner then...

Full Stomachs, and on the hunt for the cache. Pitch black and coords playing from here to there...
We focused in one area and nothing seemed out of the ordinary...
But after a good 10 mins searching in the dark something cached my eye...
Ummmm, this look quite similar to one hide that I made in my hometown in Spain!!!

Happy smile here! And a FP for you!

Tftc!!

30-Mar-16
After a bit of a backwards and forwards not believing the GPS, I finally spotted something, yay the delicacy, but while retrieving it I became the mozzies delicacy, as hand holding GPS had seven of those little suckers feasting, soon signed and replaced, TFTC

28-Mar-16
One of my faves, so clever! Took a wee while coz I was looking in the wrong place initially. Saw it and didn't believe that it could be the cache at first. Tftc

25-Mar-16
Geodog and geowife accompanied me on this trip - this is the first time we've gasped at the audacity of such a clever hide. I literally had my fingers on it and passed it over as nothing before the incongruity of the object in that position nagged away at me. Very grateful that geowife's digits were available for extracting the prize. No wonder this has so many favourites, no choice but to add another. After a day of DNFs to find that hide has made the day worthwhile. TFTC!

28-Feb-16
Tip... take bug repellent! We never found it.

26-Dec-15
It was very quiet here so I could have a good search but came up empty handed.

11-Dec-15
No luck on this one today. Will be back another time.

10-Dec-15
Not a soul around on a sunny afternoon. Took a while to find, but worth it, Cool camo.

06-Nov-15
Out with a group during half time at GIFF rebel98 made the find by torch light, very clever cammo. Fav from me.

06-Nov-15
Found after the GIFF event, that took place at the other side of the park, with the help of Ketlav's torch.
I loved the container & hide, very nice one!
TFTC from Israel.

06-Nov-15
Was out with the group while attending the GIFF event. Found this well camoed cache. TFTC

06-Nov-15
Another cache while at the Giff meet loved that camo Dean-crew tftc. Big Grin

31-Aug-15
We hunted for a while for this one, gps was taking us all over the gz. awesome effort on the camo. This deserves a favourite from us

30-Aug-15
Headed up to the nearby Geo-quiz with HPG and after the quiz we decided we'd grab a few caches before heading home.

Wandered over here after the event and started hunting. After a few minutes we were joined by a few others and with a bit more searching the well hidden cache was found. Not sure how eventually found it but I'd still be looking if they hadn't found it. Thanks for the well hidden cache.

30-Aug-15
Found whilst out with mum (keylev) and laval.

Thanks for the cache.

30-Aug-15
Found with mum (keylev) and cragger.

Thanks for the cache.

30-Aug-15
That's cool:)

30-Aug-15
At an event at the scout hall so headed here after it finished with a heap of other cachers. It still took us quite a while to spot but we got there after a couple of minutes. Nice hide. TFTC Smile

30-Aug-15
After attending an event NESW Quiz today found this afterwards with a few others. Neat hide great camo

30-Aug-15
Upgraded to Premium just so I could log this.
Before that I didn't even know it was here and I wondered why a group dashed out during the break at the NESW quiz we attended today!
Luckily I was with Crusing5 who is a premium member and with some dubious help from her + a few others (including a dazed starling) cache was soon carefully in hand and log signed.
Thank you for such a wonderful cache with such perfect camo...

30-Aug-15
My last find for the day. It really stumped us for a surprisingly long time, considering how many of us were looking for the cache. After we found it we quickly hid it and watched as some more people from the Geocaching Quiz tried to find it. I kept thinking how many emails the CO will be getting today Smile

30-Aug-15
Went for a look after the event in the scout hall. Took a bit of searching but eventually found with some new friends and Em Ce Kiwi. Loved the camouflage.

Made a drive by earlier in the day and came up empty, on a return visit before the nearby even it was almost instantly found, very tricky hide!

30-Aug-15
Rushed out at half time during the quiz for thankfully a very quick find - not sure what caught my eye but lucky something did as I can see why it takes some a long time to find. Raced back in just in time to take out first place in the quiz Smile

Awesome camo here so a well deserved favourite point.

Thanks for the cache.

I came by here after the quiz event with Pazzabella and Andreus, we had seen several cachers ahead of us and I wouldn't mind betting they hurried that cache back before we arrived!! So since I didn't have a GPS or even my cell with me it was up to Pazz to find the cache with her phone. But we did have some help from a few others who almost departed with a hot-warm-cold game. Eventually it was Pazz who spotted something according to the hint and the cache was now ours! Well done Pazza! So now we spotted Bertie Blowfish coming towards us so we re-hid the cache quickly and then she arrived as did EmceeKiwi and Crusing 5, nice to meet you girls! Then I played the hot-warm-cold game with them. Naturally they soon found the delicacy in question and everybody was happy. By this stage Pazzabella had wandered off to retrieve a sick looking starling she had spotted, good on her!!! It was going back to her place and into her aviary. So we all headed over to G-2's cache in the carpark.....

30-Aug-15
This was just a bit further in the park from an event I was attending, lots of people searching for it when one half of Gernita managed to put his hands on it. Yay, well disguised. TFTC

[u][Teal]2016 Mega Event Labour weekend in Turangi visit [url=http://www.nzmega2016.nz/]New Zealand Mega 2016[/Url] [/Teal][u]

30-Aug-15
We were in the scout hall in the park for the NZEW quiz event when we had a wee break for half time. Just enough time for us to rush out and try and grab the cache at the end of the park. We arrived (Keylev, craggar, laval, darthcacher1, purply and newlynfam) and narrowed down the distance to the cache. We had just started looking when keylev sais "it isn't that is it?". Mr HeMaLuDy retrieved the item, and yes it was the cache. Log signed and cache replaced and we rushed back in for the second half of the quiz (which we surprisingly won with the above cachers and greenblat). Fantastic cache container, definite favourite.

30-Aug-15
As we wondered accross the field after a fantastic Quiz event we saw what must surely be the GZ judging by the suspicious activty going on near the back of the field. By the time we arrived to GZ,all had miraculously been placed to it's rightfull home. A gentle nudge from the group had us on the right 'trail'. What a unique cache, thank you dean-crew!

30-Aug-15
Found as part of a large group of cachers after attending the Geocaching Quiz event at the hall nearby. Thankfully it was a big group as it was a tricky wee hide! Cool container though - favourite point added! TFTC!

[red] 2016 NZ Mega Event in Turangi... http://www.nzmega2016.nz

30-Aug-15
After the event wandered on over this way and was soon accompanied by many other searchers. Glad for the many pairs of eyes today as it could have taken quite a long time otherwise. Great little hide, very well done. Thanks for hiding a little something different.

30-Aug-15
After the event we joined a number of others to search for this. Found with a little help from some friends and we now know why this has so many favourites.

30-Aug-15
Raced out during the half time of the quiz event (literally- we jogged and ran across the field!) to find this cache.
Got to GZ and keylev spotted it straight away.... although I don't know how due to the awesome camo! We have both found one like this, though, so perhaps familiarity helped? It was a team effort to retrieve, with Mr HeMaLuDy trying to use a pen and a finger, and me handing his another pen, which I thought would work better (it did) to lever it out, oh-so-carefully and gently!
SL and raced back to the quiz, skidding into the hall just in time for the second half of the quiz!
A fave point for the awesomeness of the camo!!!
TFTC Big Grin

30-Aug-15
I wandered out after the quiz event, and joined the throng congregating around GZ. Luckily for me there were plenty of sharper eyes than mine, it's such good camo. What a very cool wee cache, love it, thanks!

15-Aug-15
We had been looking after a couple of our Grandsons and decided to call into Mr Pollard's park on our way home to look for his Delicacy. We made our way around the edge of the park and were approaching GZ when we noticed someone coming across the field, and we were soon joined by mike-miss. Together we searched "everywhere" without managing to locate the cache. Eventually miss came across to help out, and she made the find in the one "where" we had all overlooked.

15-Aug-15
We were in the area after finding a couple of other caches and thought we should over here for a couple more. It was completely by coincidence that we were to bump into kiwicouple on the way over the field to GZ. They too were heading over to find this one. Well, i was glad i had company as we spent quite some time carefully going over GZ trying to find this one. After completely examining and re-looking at anything plausible, miss came over from the car to give us a hand.

In the end, she found it in the one place we hadn't noted to check. A very nice hide and cunningly placed. Another favourite to add to the list, TFTC! Big Grin

06-Aug-15
So excited to find this wonderful cache. Didn't really know where we were searching for so it was awesome to find it! Thank you so much for bringing us to this place, I'd never been here before.

28-Jul-15
# 55 Auckland

Not so easy to find, great cache!

TFTC

18-Jul-15
Logging to get rid of "needs maintenance" as replaced in January 2015.

15-May-15
Out with NZTravellers doing some night caching.

Awesome cache, gets a fav point from me.

06-May-15
Out for some more lunch time caches without the use of handheld technology. This turned out to be my only successful find of the day. Unable to attempt the cache in the car park today due to an occupied car right next to gz.
Luckily we have encountered this exact type of camo on a previous occasion. Was not sure it was definitely the cache until it was in my hands. Nice job. Smile

26-Apr-15
Out geocaching with goober24. What a cool cache! Took us a wee while to find it, and after goober24 third visit, she finally found it. TFTC

26-Apr-15
Tried to find this one a couple of times before. Just as we were giving up again I noticed a potential item... It was it, I couldn't believe it!!! V cool. Funnily enough there was a big beetle on the end of the cache when I pulled it out. Tftc

19-Apr-15
Having FTF'd a nearby cache, we returned later in the day to attempt this one after reading the description and logs. DNA as park in full use with senior football. Will be back.

19-Apr-15
Nice! Got this one today. Although a soccer game was in play here at the park, we blended in well, as you can with mini soccer fans in tow. Great cache, thanks. A fav for us

18-Apr-15
Bug it. No tasty treat for me. Another DNF. Just too clever for this country hayseed. Its obviously there as found by others on same weekend. Beyond my eyesight to see it however. Maybe will try again in a year or two.

16-Apr-15
Every now and then you find such a cache as this one, very creative, matches perfectly with its surroundings , nice!
Well done, all good, thanks!

11-Apr-15
Found with Geco72, filling in a couple of hours before an airport drop off. Took a little while, but we got there, after a slightly disturbing false start. Nice hide.

11-Apr-15
A few hours to kill before flying Home so met up with my caching buddy to grab a few caches. After finding a slug in a likely hiding spot I was a bit weary...then I found what I was after...cool camo. Tftc

23-Mar-15
My GPS wasn't co-operating and I couldn't quite pin down which of the three suspects was the culprit. Then I found a broken one of what I thought this might be, on the ground near GZ - but didn't find any bits of paper that might have been a log-book. I kept looking for a while, but I'm notoriously bad at tree caches so I didn't have any luck. I had just given up and was on my way out when I spotted someone, head down, reading their phone walking towards GZ. Aha! Not much other reason for someone to be walking this way - I bet they're another cacher. They must've clocked me too because as I watched as they did a quick circuit, lurking only very briefly at GZ. I caught up as they were leaving and asked if they'd found anything... Kakesnz you're totally muggled, LOL! We had a laugh and went back to GZ together for another look. After a bit of discussion, BINGO, my temporary new caching partner spots it pretty quickly. Turns out I was right about what the cache was, but I'd somehow managed to overlook it. Can't see the wood for the trees obviously. TFTC and nice to meet you Kakesnz!

23-Mar-15
Had a day off work & went in search of a few caches. "Banged" into MsHGH and working together we soon had this awesome cache sorted. Thanks for the help MsHGH.

21-Feb-15
Not my delicacy. Love the container and the placement even though I was here for forever and, by the time I found it, had hands, pen etc covered with sticky tree sap. Definitely a great cache.

01-Feb-15
Replacement cache back in position.

07-Dec-14
Checked on cache and it has gone, so need to make a replacement.

06-Dec-14
Hmm... 3 trees in a corner and a large playing field. That should make it easy to find a cache. Well I stared at the trees and thought of all the camo objects I have found to date. Checked out the nearby ground around the trees, pulled and prodded at possible objects that might move and looked for anything that seemed out of place. Nothing leapt out at me. There are a few fallen branches on the ground and a pile of wood chippings with some stinkwort fungi in it (checked some just in case!). I assume the metal goalposts do go on the field at times. Will have to come back with some younger eyes in toe another day. Great camo.

14-Nov-14
Had admired this type of cache camo on U Tube and had thought to do one myself. Shame its a little damaged but very nicely done! TFTC

08-Nov-14
Found it, unfortunately though it was on the ground. Will put it back where I think it should go. Love the container though, one of the most creative ones I have seen. Tftc!

18-Oct-14
Had looked for this one before, still no luck. Pressed every nodule on every nearby tree, prodded everywhere. Still elusive for me and Magdajh...unless it's missing - it hasn't been found since July...

18-Oct-14
Me and my peep Goober24 looked and looked at this one..... no luck. But, I reackon we should give it another go one day - when its not raining. Thanks for the adventure!

12-Oct-14
Out riding today in the lovely weather and this was the second stop for us. It seems that the neighbour has decided to cut all of the trees on his property and throw the branches back onto the reserve (charming!) which made the hunt a bit tricky. Dean-crew, if you think that this may have some impact on the cache placement, it may need to be checked otherwise our blinkers were on Wink

28-Jul-14
Was home from work looking after Mini McArgister who had a cough but also had to pick the cat up from the vet. Wrapped Mini up warm and decided to leave a few minutes early. GoogleMapped this and its sister cache and off we went. As I got Mini out of the car, a familiar looking man looking at a device strolled past. Not 100% sure of his identity we pursued from a safe distance. When it was quite clear what he was up to we made ourselves known and it was who I thought it was, Agazo, who I'd met at one of my own hides a couple of weeks ago. He led us to GZ as we chatted and after our initial scans returned a blank, we found it on the second run. A very nice hide and one that I've considered myself but not quite achieved yet, so nice to see one in action. Off together to its sister by the car. Thanks!

28-Jul-14
When I arrived at the parking area, I saw a maintenance man and a father unloading his little daughter. I decided to go for this one and come back for the other one near the parking when it cleared up. I didn't get more than ten steps when I heard, "There only one reason someone would be going this way." It was @McArgister and Mini McArgister! They were the first cachers I ran into on the trail without any prearrangement since I came back to NZ.

At GZ, @McArgister found the cache, which would have taken me much, much longer to find, so I was really thankful for the assistance. TFTC.

06-Jul-14
Looked for this one about a year ago with no success. This time pretty well found it straight away. Not sure why. Anyhow, another smiley replaces the old sad face. TFTC.

03-Jul-14
Flying solo today without ayrshiregirls trusted eyes I thought I might struggle with this one. Great camp and super hide.many thanks for the cache

25-May-14
Ha--Good one! A fave point for creativity. I like these hidden neighbourhood parks. A bit of green space is a good thing. Cheers for the cache.

24-May-14
OH. MAN. THIS. UNFORGETTABLE. I got to the right tree initially, but the GPS was a bit fuzzy because of the trees, so I went for a look on the other trees, but of course, nothing. Noticed some tiny fungi-type things and some tree gum! Looked down, looked up, nothing. Almost gave up, until I circled the tree two more times and had a poke at everything. And there it was. Thanks for an epic cache. Favourite from me, my first Favourite.

18-May-14
Too good for me today! I will definitely return soon, maybe a second set of eyes will help next time! I am expecting a great Camo job!

11-May-14
Found it straight away tftc

20-Apr-14
Made our way to GZ and had the cache in hand within a few moments. Cool camo gets a favourite. TFTC.

11-Apr-14
Found originally as part of rebel98 team, now created own account, re-logging as rustynz

Took a little searching, but eventually the cache was found. So unlike any cache I have ever found, and probably that is why it is so unique. Thanks again for the hide.

11-Apr-14
Took a little while to find, but I had Tui and Fantails for company! Very clever hide, thanks for bringing us here. Big Grin

30-Mar-14
Secodn time lucky for this one. I spent nearly half an hour searching last week to no avail. Today i spotted the thing while walking up, didnt even start searching. funny how that happens. Great hide, tftc!
