Logs
Found while waiting to do some volunteering weeding the track. TNLN,T4TC.Regards, Ric
Finding a way up the slope was a little easier than down. Once up numerous possibilities presented themselves to us. A few minutes and Tiz13 and I were signing the log. Now to get down the slippery dip! Thanks ahomburg!
Up Snips and Co and l went to find this cache. I was happy to see that we both had the same butt sliding technique out.
Slowly chipping away at these DM series recently while also dodging the rain. Found this one nicely hidden away in its hideyhole. A nice quick find, thanks for the cache!!
This morning's plan was to go geocaching in the 1000 steps area. The main 3 geocaches I wanted was the 2 DT challenges that I am getting closer to completing and the final of the "I Went geocaching and all I got was" final. I was also aiming to halve the number of caches that I needed for my next milestone planned for the Mega. Lovely early morning certainly helped with this plan and no DNFs.
Found this one at 9.15 am after getting stabbed by one of those thorny trees.
Thanks for the cache A Homburg

On a bit of a hike with my partner, I figured we'd go somewhere I hadn't claimed finds for the caches yet. We passes this way many times during covid, but I wasn't finding caches in that period, like many other geocachers. Amazing how many I passed on my walks. There was a geotrail leading me to this cache.
So, here I sit….. ha
After my very ungraceful dismount from the Arbour that resulted in an unintentional 2 meter bum slide down to the track I found this hide tucked away and proceeded to unintentionally bum slide again down to the track. Only 1 meter this time…
I really need to retire these shoes.
March flies out 6 weeks early too.

Thanks ahomburg for the cache. Defo moist as, and more fun coming down from the west. Giddy up
After some finds nearby, I decided to search out a few more in this extensive series on the MTB.
A reasonably gentle climb to this one despite of the track name, and after a short scramble uphill, the container was located.
A couple of clips missing, and the log book very wet. Even after attempting to blot it dry, I couldn't sign it, so I added and signed a supplementary log sheet, double-bagged. (My last spare log; note to self: replenish caching bag before next outing).

Well hidden cache. Box and bag are starting to fall apart though so may need updating soon. TFTC
Found it quite easily, but only because I spotted it while trying to get to gz. I can imagine it's hard to spot once there. Container was broken and logbook was wet, needs replacement.
A quick hike had me at the cache easily enough.
Two of the clasps of the container are broken and both water and spiders had made their way in. The log book is totally dry though.
Cache is now hidden and not out in the open.

Yippee bingo bango! Fun day out just beyond the burbs and lucky for me within the 15 km allowed and so along with a few other missions here I am. This was not exactly on my radar but I missed a turnoff and thought why not! Either way, it’s refreshing to be exploring the Dandenongs and wandering in the bush to make the find. In Melbs on carers duty again, so glad to to be here before the joe blakes get too active. Coordinates were good and this country gal was very happy. TFTC
First cache of the day on today’s Dandenong walk, part of our lockdown quest to walk every track on the hill.

Having moved home during lockdown 5 I have a new five kilometre area in which to exercise during lockdown 6. Very fortunately this includes a tiny corner of the Dandenongs.
I am of the view that pausing to find a geocache while out exercising with nobody around cannot do any harm.
This was a nice quick find and in this always beautiful location. TFTC

Yay. Easy-ish find. Lots of people around, as per last lockdown. Stay safe Melbourne.
Sunday morning walk for some more of tbe Dandenongs caches. Not quite the Himalayas but quite steep to get up the last bit here! Thanks.
This afternoon I decided to go for a walk in Dandenong Ranges National Park.
I picked up this cache on the way.
Thanks for the cache ahomburg.

Had to get outside my comfort zone in the dark off track in terrain that would normally scare me off. But I'm determined tonight and it's paid off. Second find of the night and not as hard as expected. Like the placement, size, and difficulty. Feels like a real achievement
Took travel bug BZ53PH For relocation to different region of Victoria...
It has been a couple of weeks since I last had the opportunity to venture out caching. Today there was a lull in the Christmas preparations so we decided that we would spend an hour or so walking and caching.
As is so often the case I approached this cache from a higher 'T' rating than was required. A quick find. I dropped off a TB that had languished in an old caching bag for way too long. TFTC.

Found after a clamber up a slippery bank. Picked up a TB to continue its journey. Great little spot in the bush.
Had to wait out a muggle family before a short climb up .

Found myself on this track whilst looking for a different cache, so it seemed like a good opportunity to chip away at another of this series.
The trail was surprisingly busy today, so had to walk past GZ for a bit and then return, to avoid a number of muggles walking in either direction. Thankfully with good coords I found the decent-sized container almost immediately, and was able to sign the log and move on before any more walkers passed by.
Thanks for the cache and series, ahomburg.

Out in the area with Rebel Acts to put some smiles on the map.
Rebel did seem a little distracted by the thought of picking up his new puppy in the afternoon, but we still had a great time caching.
Quick find on this one due to great coordinates, log and container in great condition.
Cheers ahomburg for the cache.

I headed out for an afternoon of caching. I was in the area chasing adventure lab caches, but as this traditional was pretty close I headed over for a look. I've been chipping away on this series for a few years, and hopefully one day all will be found. I got quite a soaking in the end on my walk up, but I was pleased to find the cache tucked away in a logical spot. The cache just up the path from here will have to wait for another day though! A few trackables were visited. TFTC ahomburg.
Further down the hill, and on a much better track, we located this fellow quite quickly. Tftc.
After a climb earlier this week we returned to climb all the way from Ferntree Gully to One Tree Hill. There were a lot more than 'just one tree' on the way up!
First find was thus quick easy one, just starting the 400m ascent.
Thanks, ahomburg.

Had a morning walk before heading to work this afternoon. Beautiful view of Melbourne city from here. Easy to find. Thanks ahomburg for bringing me here
Today we finally made a start on this series. 98 caches, how hard could this be? Hiking boots on, check, backpacks with heaps of crap, check, water......no, of course we forgot the water. Again.
After a little bit of a scramble to GZ, cache was spotted and log signed. Thanks ahomburg for bringing us to this beautiful area.

Another one that hadn't been found for a few months. Just shows how much people all crowd around 1000 steps instead of branching out! Tftc
Last find on our morning adventure. A great conclusion to a 4km walk. Thanks AHomburg for the cache and series.
A loop walk and a maintenance check today

Was taking an early morning walk and exploring the tracks a little when the rain started to come in. I picked up speed and headed homewards but couldn't go past this one without a quick look.
All good here and the neat cache was found (last one for the day) in a nice spot.
Thanks for showing me some interesting paths and for the tidy caches ahomburg.

TFTC. Hoping to conquer a few in this series tonight. Lovely spot to walk and talk while caching
Had been grabbing a lot of the DM series on a previous walk but had missed this one on purpose because it was more easy to get to by car. Today was my chance to find this one, TFTC!
As with the previous couple of caches I have found in this series, I was on my way over to Puffing Billy for the day... this time it was to be Guard on the Gembrook train. I had come early enough to hopefully find two caches to clean out this little pocket.
Having successfully found "Stoney Rise Walk" cache first this morning, I made a quick dash a bit further along Himalaya track to find this cache before heading back to my car. With a little bit of "mountain goat" work at the end, I made quick find. Thanks ahomburg for the cache and the series.

Easy find after a short scramble up the embankment. Had some lunch nearby as well. Nice spot. TFTC
Initially our gps threw us wayyyy off the mark. Found it so easily coming back along the track, also it was open..
For business trip in Melbourne an used some free time to search some caches, this afternoon in total 14 caches discovered. All CO's thanks for the hide.
Our gps jumped around and we looked at many fallen trees before we found it - but we did!
We got the chance to walk around the Dandenongs on a Friday afternoon, great to have some caches to do to make it more interesting. tftc ahomburg
Went for a pleasant walk in a park, found & signed cache, quite a warm arvo....now for the hard slog uphill.
Checking out my new fancy GPS that my darling Hubby got me for Christmas. The little beauty took me straight to it. Cheers for the find
