Used the last line of the hint. Pretty overgrown at the moment. Cool historical site
Took a few mins to find the last line of the hint, but then it was quickly followed by the cache. Thanks Nogoodnik73
**20,586**Just about to give up on this one when Mr Geckoh came up trumps. Glad to get that bugger knocked off. And with that we are ahead. TFTC
Hurrah! Glad to swap my blue face here for a smile . In the area (sort of!) today and noticed that there had been recent activity. Geotrails didnt help tho- even though theres plenty! I got there in the end all the while being watched from close by! An interesting bit of history. Many thanks
After finding the newly published caches some of us decided to continue caching. This is one of the caches we decided to visit. One, maybe 2, of the group were distracted by the rather cute miniature horses. The find was made by talla64 -thank you.Out and about in the area with Itchyfeet2020 -as usual lots of laughter going on!Kia ora rawa atu for the cache Nogoodnik73.
Time for another caching adventure with NZ_B. A event in Levin to celebrate daylight savings seems like a reason to head out for the day. A few cars joined up for a few caches after the event and there was about 3-4 cars still together when we pulled up for this one. Took a little bit to find this one and found eventually made by talla64. I agree it does seem sad to see it no longer as a school - 100 years - wow. We were joined by two gorgeous miniature horses who were bemused by our searching efforts! TFTC Nogoodnik73.
Found after a search with others who attended the event put on earlier today by TwigNZ. Quite a difficult one to find due to the spreading weeds in the location. All good though here with a nice dry log book. Thanks for the cache Nogoodnik73.
This was a tricky one. Even with some guidance from ItchyFeet2020 and NZ_B, whod visited this just before me, I could not find this. In the end, JustlookingOO arrived to help me out, and after a few minutes of looking, she found the pesky thing. The hint is accurate, if you know where to look Dropped an alien trackable here.
This one took the others a bit to find while I was trying to pet a mini horse. TFTC
**taybee** is caching again with **taybee nz** for the dayQuick find here today All in good order, sign log book as **taybee** or **tb** or ( **TNZ** or **taybee/nz** as *taybee and taybee nz joint sign* ) TFTC Cache was found at **24/09/2023 @ 15:31:00**
A backup call had me joining TrinityNZ to find this ellusive cache. With the help of the hint and a bit of rooting around we soon had it in hand. TFTC
Couldn't find it with the kids and using past images. Overgrown and in sad repair. Might need to check it.
Had a good hunt around - as had someone else by the looks of things but hidden well!
10.15am. I thought this may have gone as there has been some chainsaw activity at GZ. But I persisted and found it very close to where the GPS said I should be. All good here.
Thank you. David.
Thank you. David.
Having been at an event not far from here over the weekend I had heard mention of this cache and some troubles that had been had, but then later not had. Seemed like a good time to pay a visit. After a couple of wrong turns I arrived where I needed to be and initially searched in the wrong place before my GPS changed its mind about where I should be looking (I wonder if that's why others had issues). Focusing on the new location being pointed to, I spotted something that matched the hint and soon had the cache in hand. All good here, TFTC.
Down in Levin for a weekend of geocaching, found with a group of us, tftc Nogoodnik73
We tried to find this yesterday and had been looking for a few minutes when Phronimos turned up having already DNF'd it, we continued looking with no luck. Later in the day we heard that it was there so back this morning on our way out of town for another look. Isis58 found it immediately in a spot we had all checked thoroughly. Pleased not to have to long a DNF. Thanks Nogoodnik73

We were yesterday and had a real good look but couldn't find the cache. We heard later that it had been found after we had been so came back to sort out the unfinished business before we headed home. Instant find today where we thoroughly checked yesterday. Thanks to that group that persisted and found it. Turned out this was the last find of a fantastic weekend caching in the area. TFTC # 18,119
Sitting having coffee at Kimberley Reserve and talking of local caches we might pick up before Twigs Cannonball event. This one was just further down the road from others we were chasing, so off we went. Hard to believe a school used to be here. Now there is just a toilet. TFTC
We're attending @TwigNZ's Kimberley Kamping weekend and have a few hours to spare this morning before the next event.
It took us a while to locate the container, but eventually the second part of the hint became clear and the log was soon in hand.

Turned up to Twig's event to be told the group following me found it, so I'm back and followed the 'elephant trail' to an easy find. TFTC
After several attempts and being sure it wasn't here we were told there had been a log here today so we tried again and after some helpful hints we had a quick grab along with 2 other cachers.

As a school teacher awesome Find and adventure. It’s definitely there and used the clue. Thanks for bringing us here. Merry Xmas.
Tried this one before with no luck and again this time with another set of eyes.. Figured out the hint but couldn't find the object or the cache..
Out with two of the etherkids before breakfast, before everyone else is even out of bed, actually.Had a bit of a wander around, found some old gardens and I think I found where the school building was, and maybe the playing fields.
Parked up for the night at Kimberley reserve. Great wide open space for an overnight stay. Returned to the nearby swimming hole and parked up. Got on the bike to cache out to this cache. Helpful hint made the find quick. Cache all fine. Cycled back and cooled down with a swim. Thanks for the smiley.
Fresh geotrail and accurate coordinates lead me straight to cache location.
Thanks for the new log too.

Quite disappointed if I’m going to be honest I walked a really long way to come over here and when I got there it was filled with cockroaches I couldn’t even get into the log book
Log very wet and quite hard to write on. Straightforward find. Thanks for placing the cache
School books didn't help today. What an odd place to have a school. Shame the building has gone. Looks like developers have moved in too
Lid is broken and had come off, so cache had filled with water. I have emptied it but needs some maintenance.
Great place for a cache, my boys and I enjoyed having a look around the abandoned school. The cache was pretty wet, luckily a previous cacher had added some waterproof paper, I needed to switch pens halfway through signing though. Still, it was good to get out of the house and have a break from home schooling duties now that we're at Level 2 of the Covid-19 lockdown. Hopefully Home Skool's out Forever! TFTC
Just along the road at an event so took the opportunity to find this cache.
Bit of a search but eventually found the correct hint object.
Enjoyed a brief wander around the very abandoned school

TFTC awesome location love checking out and exploring abandoned places. Pretty amazing condition for something that’s been abandoned for so long.
#7391. I came up north today with Infoferret to attend an event held not far from here. We went around a series of caches in Ohau and Levin and then started heading back to Wellington. IF mentioned she was keen to find this one so we drove down here. There was no obvious geotrails and now can see why as it has not been found in over a year. I read the hint and saw a likely spot to hide a cache. There was a container hidden there but with my arm being only half functional after being in a sling for 6 weeks I left IF to do the honours of retrieval. The cache was damp inside. IF put in some fresh waterproof paper. Returned the cache as found. Thanks for the cache Nogoodnik73. Yes always seems sad visiting these abandoned school sites. A few decades OK it would have been full of cheerful kids laughing and playing and a hub of the local farming community.
Over a year since the previous find. Popped in a replacement sheet of waterproof paper to keep this one going and removed the previous sodden log. Tftc
Cache # 4,512 - A quick find for Astro Hunter, Violet Butterfly and I. Glad we made this our first stop, as it was followed by successive DNFs here in Levin. And this one has a broken container and the main log is nothing but pulp. Thanks to the previous cacher who put in a new log. TNLNSL. TFTC!

Did today with The Wandering Dragons and Violet Butterfly. Took a little while to get container out of the spot, but happy to have found it. Thank you.

School very overgrown. We love the hint. Found cache but container damaged and contents very very wet! Placed new plastic bag with some paper in it but don't know how long it will last. Needs maintenance. TFTC.
Didn't find cache at first, so went in and checked out the old school. Had no idea it was here and found it really interesting. After much searching in the wrong area, went back to my first spot and there it was. Yay! Log all okay, and container holding together for now. TFTC
Found today with TwigNZ. The repairs made by other caches have held well but as you have to remove the tape to open the cache it will be ineffective soon. TFTC
The running repairs done recently by previous finders have held well, although it could really use a new container as the tape will fail at some stage. TFTC
Good spot. Found lid too but vonnections broken. Vontents soaked. Dried as good as possible and taped lid on. Thanx:)
I rather enjoy visits to old schools, interesting how well nature is clawing it's way back at this one!

Down in Levin today as there is a cache in the vicinity that I have been saving as it gets me one step closer to completing a challenge cache I'm working towards. Whilst in the area it would be rude not to collect a few more caches.
Quick find here but as the previous finder said the log book is getting damp. Container no longer latches shut so will require some owner maintenance in the near future. TFTC

Out and about on a sunny Autumn day with team geocacher Mr. T. A quick find. We've not been to this area before. Tftc.
Found the cache after a short hunt. I took the opportunity to have a look around the school. Quite a lot of growth for 11 years. From the looks of it, the interior of the classroom still looks to be in reasonable condition. Even the swimming pool doesn't seem to need much to get going again. TFTC
Thanks for the cache and the history...
The log was just so I've added a piece of water-resistant log-paper so it's all good to go again

Another smilie on the way back toward WGTN.
Paper pretty damp.
A quick find on a day where Yeetrees and I found the new caches by edvern and tmann421 on the Mangahao - Makahika Track.
Thanks for this cache and another smilie.
The hint is more a riddle than a hint - got there in the end

Took us a while to find this cache- longer than it should have. Schools are very special parts of communities and I wonder what history is preserved about this school? TFTC
Well we figured out the hint and searched here with no luck continued our search still with no luck hmm the forth person search's the same original spot and what do you know there is the cache ..... the rest of us are blind!! Can't say it was a quick find lol. had to tip water out of cache and log wet but still signable. Day two of our road trip with jordiporsche from hawkes bay to welly and return. Log signed as b&p.Tftc Nogoodnik73. Find # 3285
This is a lovely area for a drive and never knew there was a school way out here, thank you for bringing us out here its an area that could easily get forgotten. The cache is all in good order TFTC
Catching up on some caches out this way with sunju, the weather was not in our favor on the week night we wanted to go, so today was the day, the rain was off and on but it most of the time we managed to make the find between showers. Thanks for the placement. - second time here not sure how we didnt spot it the first time, but bar some slaters cache in good order.
Yay! Despite the yucky weather it was worth it. Travelling with Marisa& Kaleb for some quick pick-ups - some for her, some for me, some for us! TFTC
Found cache - although almost didn't see it at first glance. Placed temporary log book into cache and dried contents - all good to go again
Nice find. Everything is quite wet and could not write very easily. New log paper might be a good idea
I visited this school when it was still a two teacher school. It looks very neglected now. The cache container needed emptying of all its water and the log book was damp and mushy to try and write in. TFTC
An afternoon of caching in the sunshine with Princess-Emily.
A lonely cache and a fairly quick find.

Quick find -enjoyed the poetic hint! There are many tiny schools around the country that were community hubs in their day that have long been closed -my father taught at one of them. TFTC.
Working in Levin and having to expand my radius of caching as I have cleaned up all the local caches in Levin township, took a drive out to Ohau area and was rewarded with some great caches and a nice evening drive.
In the setting sun I wandered up to GZ and with the romantic hint I could definitely see this would be a great place to start a lifetime romance!!!!!
Thanks for bringing me here and sharing the starting place of it all for you both!

I imagine it would've been quite idyllic as a child back in the day attending a school at a pleasant location such as this. Thanks for the related web page, which gives some good historical context. TFTC Nogoodnik73, #7545
Easy find in a spot we hadn't realised was there - sad to see the old school being left derelict. TFTC. With Owhiro Ray
Headed off into the awesome January weather for an afternoon caching down to just south of Levin before heading home. Our chosen route was a figure eight south down State Highway 1, across from Foxton to Shannon, down to Ohau, then back up through Levin, Foxton, Awahuri then back to home. managed 37 which is a pretty good number and boosts my January stats by a fair chunk.
From how we parked SpudNZ/s GPS sent him forward left then forward right before correctly sending him back left while mine sent my right, back right and then correctly back left. In all those directions there was likely hide spots but we didn't get down to searching until the correct spot.

Three of us had planned a day out geocaching in the Horowhenua area today. Alas, one of the party members had a late withdrawal, so there was just two of us. It was a great day in the end. The weather was hot, we even had a few spots of rain trying to cool us down at one stage. I ended up finding about 45 caches with one DNF.
For some reason, both our GPS's were playing up with start with so we wondered off in different directions and away from the cache. Eventually our GPS's locked on to the target and we moved in for the kill. A quick once we started looking in the right place. Nice piece of history here.
Thanks for the cache and the smiley. Found with Tommygun9.

Easy find. Had no idea about this school until now. Amazing how fast established places go to pieces. TFTC.
Ahh what awesome caches I have seen on my travels this week , from fake logs, to mint tins stuck to posts, to nanos under benches to awesome tree climbing cache hides, his week has been an awesome time to check out the new caches and of course old!! It was great to see all the different places too, like nelson, and greytown, and Blenheim of course!! Then there was the small tiny areas, where we stopped to see earthquake museums, with of course the ''rural' caches as I like to call them. then of course there was the significance of stop offs; like the bulla swing bridge, where I went, saw and conquered there and back twice, while dad stooof o the comfort of the flat grass, smiling, waving and taking pictures Funny, but the best part about that bridge was when the people who worked there, started to come across when I was I was about half way going back ,so they had to get past, so they tilted the bridge sideways, onto its side, so then I could get past, it was pretty scary, but awesome too!! Then the bridge bounced and went side to side and swung it was really awesome! Then as they walked to the other side they were jumping and swinging from side to side, it was great fun!!:)
But anyway the caches I encoun tered on my trip were rreally good, each one was different in some way, including popmacs mint trail series in the north island, which was a really neat idea!!
Anyway, I would like to say thanks tov all the great cache owners who took their time to place all these caches Thank you and well yeah TFTCs all round

It's holiday time and I'm off to the South Island for a few days holiday with the great nightowl19. On the way down to the ferry we decided some caches were in order. There have been some handily placed on the route we're taking so a small diversion is in order to move my total slowly but surely to the magical 3000 figure. Have also pencilled in an Earth cache, puzzle and multi for later so diversity is the key

saw one baby cockroach on the fence, but didnt have any luck find this one and I didnt quite get the hint either, but thanks for bringing me to this place all I could think is what a cool place for paintball
its a shame they have left it and not done something to keep this place alive some other way holiday accommodation springs to mind for someone wanting some quiet space
