Logs
Found it on second attempt.....by accident. Tipped over old, completely overgrown, stump. TFTC
**21,290** Having returned from the previous cache to give this one another go, no new intel received but was fortunate that we just happened to stumble across the cache. Log all dry, as it appears this cache has received a bit of attention in the last few years, with a new log and internal container. Possibly the next cacher to locate the wetlands one could take a new log in with them. TFTC
No luck on this one. Couldnt find any stumps near coordinates, as others have recommended
Initially we took the cache title to be helpful information, which turned out to be incorrect. After searching unsuccessfully for some time, we read previous logs, with multiple reference to stumps. The problem was these had disappeared in the undergrowth, however as the coordinates are very accurate, with our new approach, the cache was soon in hand. TFTC
Definitely needed some hints from prior checkins. But we got it on a nice evening after a rainy day. Thanks
Appreciated everybody's hints! Found on a walk near our campsite in this beautiful part of the world. TFTC
This one really did have us all stumped for a bit, and had us all thinking the lean is long gone. A great day out finding caches with Kimmy+co and Geeves90TFTC
Tftc out with geeves90 and hayzz.Had us stumped with this one. But gps is accurate
I think the drunkard had a wee bit too much to drink, but I as he keeled over at some point and never got back up
Definitely not where we first thought. Again gps very accurate! Found after a while tftc
Slight lean? It's a fatal lean. Searched all the obvious suspects but it wasn't there. This is one of those tricky hides that isn't where you know it should be. Read other logs to avoid being stumped. Co-ords were very accurate, believe you gps, tftc, gave it a favourite
Searched all if the trees on a lean (some slight and some not) and couldn't find. Did find a hole underneath one where it looks like it could have been. Will come back when its warmer to try again.
A quick trip down here, what a great spot after looking at several likely suspects all was revealed.
After getting completly saturated in the long grass at another cache here, getting to this one was not a problem. Finding was a bit of an issue though. Twig eventually found it at a non-leaning stump, while I was checking a much bigger stump that did have leaning. I thought my location was better, but - well, the cache wasn't there.
It's a rainy day so naturally my flatmate wants to go geocaching, primarily to collect the last few TMGTs before they get switched off for the evening. So we headed out this way, where the weather man said he wasn't going to turn the tap on. Well, it appears the tap leaks. There was drizzle all day, but that was still better than the solid rain on the other side of the hills.

I woke up this morning to rain, and lots of it! The forecast said there would be lots more (there was - over 80mm of the stuff!) but looking at the Rain Radar on Metservice I observed that it appeared to be wholly centred on Wellington, and not so much on the Wairarapa.
I've been meaning to go and get the last three PWGT2 caches I need to complete this section, so figured I'd see if the other side of the Rimutakas would be drier than this side. Naturally I offered to bring my flatmate along as 4 eyes are better than 2, and as a consequence most logs, if not signed by only 1 of us, were signed at Twignoid for myself and the Seagnoid.
As it turns out, I was kinda right about the rain. It wasn't perfect, but it was a heck of a lot less with little to no need to put Noah and his Ark on standby. Over the course of the few hours we were here we both got a little damp but nothing a hot pie a little later would help with
Hmmmm, again we are faced with rain-laden grass and shrubbery but by now our legs are completely soaked anyway. There's a very likely looking thing that matches the cache title right there...but no cache. There's another one just over there...but no cache. A couple more tries...but no cache. Time to read previous logs, which provided a hint that what we are looking for has little to do with the cache title.
Armed with that extra clue, we divide and conquer with ts going further afield. But my phone is quite insistent that I'm in the right area, and hunting deeper, I eventually find the cache. The co-ords are very accurate (to within 3m I found) which was a saving grace I suppose. I soon signed the log with 'Twignoid' and replaced back under as found.
Thanks for setting this cache up, and bringing me to this spot.

Thanks for setting this cache up, and bringing me to this spot.
Found it under a stump which bears no semblance to the cach name. Log full so left a small pill container with waterproof log to keep another great Skindo cache going.
A tricky little spot! I think that’s the last of that parking ticket so either bring some more paper or try your best at the dried out damp books there previously,TFTC!
Found on a day's trip to South Wairarapa, picking up PWGT caches, Adventure Labs for The Science of Discovery event, and generally attempting to clean up the caches I haven't found previously.
It took a while to locate this one. I investigated a couple of likely-looking suspects, but reading previous logs it's clear that the cache is not at one of these. A bit of wandering around and eventually spotted something that looked like it matched the cache name once upon a time. Is likely to get harder as the planted trees grow. All good here, and TFTC

Fantastic extended caching weekend with evilC! We searched for quite some time before taking a hint from a previous log. TFTC!!
A bit shorter than the ones I first looked at but soon spotted it on the way out.
It took me a few minutes to track this one down today. The cache location has clearly changed a bit since placement and bears no relation to the cache title or the hint.
The coordinates were good though so I got there in the end.
Thanks very much for the cache.

This wasn't exactly a quick find and it may well get even harder in the future because of the new plants around that one has to tip-toe though to get to the cache. Eventually I spotted an object that harbour the cache and I was pleased to find it there in good condition. TFTC.
Found it.
Both logs are completely wet and ruined, had a scrape of paper in my back pocket, well a parking ticket. Is room for a few names but the there needs to be a new log and seal book.

Been in Masterton for a week of work. Got time off to collect some caches in the region. First visit to this lake and it was very windy and wild. No boats out and lots of grey turbulent water. This cache took us a while. Firstly avoiding the new plants and secondly presuming the hint item was much taller then it was. Good luck. Thanks Skindo for the smiley. Lovely yellow flowers nearby.
One of 15 located today in the Featherston area, and then in and around Greytown. Parked the car as closely as we could, then needed to walk another 450m or so to the hide. Took a few moments to spot it. Just a matter of not being stumped, so to speak! #3173. TFTC.
Had a last minute offer of wheels for the day, so headed over the hill for some more skindo! Bit of a search, think hint has been cut down. TFTC!
(# 5192). A day trip to the 'Rapa. Decided to go around the lake. Took a little bit of finding as the grass was long. Everything in order. TFTC
another day, another cache, if the grass was cut it would have made getting here easier, tftc
Camped over the way so we took a walk after dinner to see what we could find. Thankfully the coords were spot on as the stumps were pretty hard to find in the long grass. TFTC!!!
WE visited this cache today with a few fellow cachers, we had this area to ourselves, and we were against the clock here this was a very quick find as the coords were spot on signed log and replaced as found.
Thanks for the smiley and the placement .

Gasbottle's advice is the way to go on this one Cannot relate the first part of the hint in any way to conditions on the ground TFTC
#4716. A sunny Saturday and I need to get my cache numbers up for the month. So decided another adventure in the southern Wairarapa was on the cards. So drove over here in the morning and headed initially for some caches near Lake Wairarapa. I parked near the bridge and headed along the track to the GZ. The area was covered in long rank grass and small shrubs. Searched around for a bit without success so read through the past logs. Saw mention of tree stumps so started searching those in more earnest. Must have checked at least 6 carefully without any joy and decided to give up. As I was walking through the grass I kicked another hidden stump and what do you know there was the cache!! Very lucky find. Signed the log and replaced as found. Thanks for the cache skindo.
Trust your GPS! There are a number of objects nearby that might fulfil the hint. I found the cache at the third.
This seemed strange heading out here off the track with nothing really to note. But like the previous finder says - trust the GSP and hey presto. TFTC #8327
Sometimes you just have to trust your GPS and coords were spot on so quickly found. thanks for the cache.
This one took a long time to find! It was stinking hot with the sun beating down on us, I was worried I'd step in the swamp with it so close by and I'd searched every object within a 15m radius at least two times! But then LCBuilder finally came up with the cache, at a stump I'd searched already. *sigh* TFTC at least my feet were dry.. for now..
Plenty of suspicious looking objects to investigate around here, but we tracked it down. Glad the long grass wasn't too wet.
Left a pet rock - a blue whale. TFTC skindo

We are cleaning up a few that we put off for better weather.
It was Jolly windy last time we were out this way. Thank you for the cache! !!

Enjoying being outdoors enjoying a cracker day, getting some exercise and collecting some caches at the same time. Can't be better really! TFTC skindo, #7329
No lean! But good co-ords so a relatively quick find. Last of the evening, and dusk turning to night. Ended up being a lot later than I expected.
TFTC!

By reading previous logs and working out where the hint object would have been. Cache is fine.
Found the lean then the cache then the previously threatening black cloud arrived so we quickened the pace TFTC.
Not sure where the name of this cache came from when we visited. Approaching GZ all we could see was long grass everywhere. As there was no wind at all none of it was on a slight lean until we'd walked through it, then what we had trodden on was on a severe lean . Then around GZ we discovered lots of tree stumps hidden in the long grass, so thought perhaps there were trees here when the cache was placed? Having now read al the older logs I can see that was the case. Anyway, after a bit of searching around the cache was located and log signed. TFTC
I thought this might be the nearby 'lean-to' loo which looks like its been shot up. However I followed the GPSr to the requrired spot, and the cache was soon in hand. TFTC
Finally made it back here after our DNF back in February. This time the landscape is totally different - all the felled trees have gone and lots of new plantings in the area. Made for a quick find this time around. NINO TFTC
#5638. Luckily there's enough of the (formerly) leaning tree to hide the cache. The wind was enough to put us on a lean. TFTC.
No prizes for guessing from the direction of the prevailing wind! GZ wasn't quite where I expected, but nevertheless a quick find for StreetWalker.
TFTC.

On a caching raid in the Wairarapa, Martinborough-based.
The windiest place on earth today! I fully understand the leaning trees.
Straightforward find, cache in order, log signed; safely re-hidden, just as found.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too
The Turtle strikes again!

As others have said, accurate co-ordinates still make for a quick find despite the changes that have gone on here.
Was trying to figure out why all these trees had been chopped down. No answer though. Cache still all good. TFTC
10769...
Wow... the trees have had a serious hair cut, coordinates spot on, cache found safe and sound, TFTC.

Hadn't read the previous logs before looking for this one so was a bit unsure if we were going to find it seeing the recent tree felling - but yes, a quick find. TFTC
Spot on co-ords thankfully and was rather surprised the cache had survived all the nearby tree felling.

Came here on a drive along the lakefront to pick up all the new caches. Despite the recent tree felling, the cache's hiding place seems to have been unaffected so this one was a quick find with dead accurate coordinates. Signed log, TFTC
Nothing left leaning now!! - the whole area has been cut down with trees and part of trees everywhere.
However cache is still safe and skeetinnz found it quickly right where the co-ords pointed.

No joy for us here today . We must have searched in the heat for about 20 mins. Geodog not impressed. There are signs of very recent felling of trees so not sure if this has happened after the cache was placed, or maybe we are just looking for excuses! Will keep it on the watchlist and come back another day if it turns out to still be there.
