Heading home for the night and a quick stop off after getting fuel. Great coordinates help here after a wrong assumption on location.Stunning spot, drove within 80m and just a short walk towards the cache. A slippery slope closer to the cache, I didn't go so close but happy for those that did. Great views away from the masses and crowds at the popular locations. Nice to enjoy this lovely old cache in peace!A caching weekend in the Penrith area with a group of canberra cachers. Prior puzzle solving had a wealth of caches, more than we could do but made for full days and plenty of choice. Log signed with team name CPI24. (Canberra Penrith Invasion 2024) The group is MinnieK, Fitzy_65, joolay, Contesta, Flintstones, sacada, Gliss, Nibletricecakes, Tankengine, dty73, Youban and myself.Weather was nice and warm and company great. A challenging weekend at times with my ongoing health issues but managed best I could. Lots of events, morning catch ups to focus our day with dinners to relax at the end. Good to meet local cachers at them too.The Saturday was a local busy day, puzzles and others as we passed. Sunday was the pretty day up in the blue mountains with scenery and short walks. Monday was another local day of groups and some independent caching to round out the weekend. Thanks for your cache!
Spending some time caching around the NSW/ACT southern tablelands with lots of side trips. TFTC. The second day of caching Penrith with the Canberra mob (CPI24). Today was a trip to Katoomba in the blue mountains finding many old and interesting caches.Lots of great treks with fantastic views.Final dinner was not at the Panthers club with the grand final on tonight.Nice hide once we changed tactic. A find on the way back to Camden.
The best thing about a blue face is the Yeah!! when you reverse it!!(The worst is the nagging fear that the second and maybe third visit will leave you just as phlummoxed as you were at the start!)Fortunately today was a Yeah! day for this one. ( along with but I looked there before. I did! I did!)Thanks to The Booos for the cache, and reassurance that I WAS on the right track err station you know what I mean!!
Probably did the same thing everyone else did looking for it hanging before remembering that The Booos are always thinking 1 step ahead. Change of plans. And CIH. TFTC
Full time Nomads, travelling around Australia since 2014. Moving today from Moss Vale to Richmond. Stopped along the way to grab a couple of LGA's. TFTC The Booos
Oh yes its what the hint says. Also sighted elsewhere, so thats how I expanded my initial search to get CIH, SLTNLN, thanks
On way home and realised Id be driving right past this feller. Not confident, seeing some caching giants have had to come back for a second, even a third bite at the cherry. The logs suggest that the conundrum is the old Shakespearean dilemma To tree, or not to tree that is the questionI think I worked out the answer to that one, and picked up a couple of other clues on the way . for all the good it did me! On a schedule, so had to limit my time to about 10 unsuccessful minutes.Confounded again by the BoosThanks for this series.
We are on a short (three day) caching holiday in and around Camden, staying for two nights in a park cabin at the Poplar Tourist Park in Elderslie. Hoping to collect some previously solved Mystery/Puzzle caches, complete some Adventure Labs, and find as many different cache icon types as we can to go towards this month’s "Wheel of Challenges" souvenir chase. The homeward journey will be via Galston, where we have pre-booked tickets for the Sunday running of the Hornsby Model Engineers Galston Valley Model Railway. Photos will be uploaded to some (most) logs on our return to home base.
Today (day 3) we were on our way back home, going via Galston for our booked session at the Galston Valley Model Railway, but we still managed to find some caches along the way. Stopped off at Narellan for a few Traditional caches before hopping onto the M7 Motorway, then collected some "park & grab" caches along Gilbert Road at Castle Hill before arriving at the Model Railway at Galston. After a fun few hours of watching & riding model trains we stopped for one last previously solved Mystery/Puzzle cache at Galston, before heading for home via Galston Gorge. This was the 1st of 10 finds for the day (day 3), and 49th find of the holiday.
Our first cache stop for the day was at this one, and it was a reasonably quick find of a familiar hide style, which was of a type that we had suspected prior to our arrival at GZ. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. TFTC The Booos.

A straightforward find on the way hone after completing a pub crawl up Camden's main drag. Thanks for the hide and for this bit of history.
We were looking around the tree area thinking that it was hanging in the tree so we read the description and then boom we found it!
Third time lucky. Finally, I can put this one to bed. DNF revenge for Brew.
Mind you, I never saw that object before as the GPS always had me further away. Today it was at 2m where I found the cache. TFTC

Found! Very clever. The hint made me think the coords were off, but they definitely are not. Favourite point from me!
I couldn't get this to jump out and say Booo! After PAF I left without the prize. I'll return.
Decided to have another look at this one after previous failures with less people around because of Covid . Thanks for extra hint from CO found easy enough virtually walked up to it and saw it hanging there . Nice use of fishing swivel. Great story about the old tram , pity it’s still not around . TFTC
What a fun hide! Felt a bit shady hunting & logging alone in the afternoon. But oh well! Have to admit it took me a bit longer than it should have, given my original suspicions were correct. TFTC
Started out with the wrong idea but the previous logs had me looking for other options. Dusk was falling so I had to pull out the torch - can't imagine what the queue of peak hour traffic thought! But the cache was pretty quickly in hand after that. TFTC!
Found! Definitely had to think outside the square for this one. Leanne had the idea to check a certain spot and soon had CIH. Great hide!
After ignoring the coords because I thought I knew better where it would be ha ha I then followed the coords and soon had cache in hand. TFTC
I have looked for this beast a couple of times, but lack of stealth was a problem. But I think I have to say that it was actually much easier finding the cache at night! It’s been interesting learning about the old rail line for sure!

I had a superlative day... lovely weather, great event, wonderful company, glorious caches and a fantastic time. OK I had to cut the day short when I scratched my eye and rubbed sunscreen into it for good measure... yep this was excruciatingly painful. Under the care of my guide, all was fixed so I could drive home... who knew "eye specialist" is one of his hidden talents!
OK this could have taken me sooooo much longer with my GPS bouncing me between trees, but what height? My guide said not over there... I turned and quickly made the connection since I had found something similar just the other day. Very tricky even when I knew what I was looking for... favourite point from me. Thanks

It’s taken me 12 months if not more and even with a clue from boos still can’t find it bout to give up on this one for good
Almost had me hanging in suspense, then it jumped out at me and said Booo. TFTC
After many attempts at this one I finally found it today!!! I knew it was where it was but for whatever reason I just couldn’t see it until The Booos messaged me. Maybe I shouldn’t have tried when it was pouring rain every time. Great hide The Booos
This one is killing me! 3rd attempt and still nothing. I know it’s there but where!!! it’s the closest one to me and hoped it would be my 50th find but I guess it’s leaving me “hanging”
Deciding to finish of the long work week with a geoventure for some multis and a couple of the Camden line on the way home. With Mizcupcake my partner in crime, we made our way up to this one. Seeing that it shouldn’t take long, and the rain was easing, we found a great spot of parking for the geomobile on the street close by to gz. I jumped out to make the search for this one. My gps was bouncing about a bit and the noise from the pub was so distracting. Taking a while to scan the area and finally settling in on an area to search, I thought the cache was lost forever. But alas a slight glimmer in the light and the hide made itself clear. Very tricky one I thought, but opening my eyes to more variety in hides than your basic. TFTC!
Leaving the suburbs I headed towards the industrial part of Narellan. Parking was much easier than I thought and I headed over towards GZ.
Once again the co-ordinates were spot on.
For me this was a quick and easy find as I'd read just a few random logs, one of which mentioned a location I'd been to a few years ago and thought I remembered the type of hide. So I stood where the GPS suggested and looked there.
Bingo, there it was!
I sat nearby to sign the log and then returned the cache. A vehicle pulled up very near me just as I completing the replacement. He gave me the weirdest look. I went back to the geomobile where I could see GZ. He went straight inside the building oblivious to the fun he was missing.

#325 - Fiendish! Love it. Spent longer than I ought to have barking up the wrong tree.
Second time lucky. We're getting the hang of this. We've learnt to read the log and trust our Geo sense. We looked in this spot last time but only half heartedly. Great hint. TFTC.
It took reading previous logs to look outside the square (haha!). Great hide and a FP because I love railway history. Thankyou for helping keep the memory of the old Camden line alive TFTF
Grabbed this one whilst on another walk!
Coords were pretty much spot on.
I think an aerial view makes it deceiving due to the trees. No trees!

couldn’t find! after a good 20 mins of searching each and every branch we gave in.
Came within 1M in 3 separate locations on this cache and couldn’t find anything either I’m blind or it’s not there. Will have to try again later
After focusing on the wrong type of hide we shifted our attention. Obviously! Tftc ️
Very sneaky, after moving away from the obvious we were able to spot quickly TFTC
#5948 (7 of 7 today)
Heading a bit south today for some finds - and hoping the weather holds...
Decided on the Camden area and managed to get seven out of eight attempts - including avenging a previous DNF.
And managed not to get rained out.
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
I’ve had a bit of a think on this one, and so I had two or three ideas that didn’t include places I’d scoured previously.
The first spot was devoid of caches. Didn’t sight anything at the second, and the extra sneaky third... was empty.
Spot Two was most likely so had another look... how did I miss that?
Made the grab and completed signing duties. Then back for the replace.
DNF expunged,
Time to head home.

Found with the geofam (Gundrills, KnightJR, Panda_Girl65). Thanks for another great hide Boos. TFTC
I searched a couple of trees but the signal had me closer to the road where roadworks were taking place. I rechecked my signal and at GZ I spied the cache.

Man that was hard. Will be coming back in the day time. I didn't see nothing just hanging around -.-
Out cache with oldmorty on a big day. This one of many caches we found along our travels. Thanks to all the cache owners for maintaining their caches
Out today for a day’s caching with marj01, no bush bashing, just park and grab. After heading off pre-dawn from the eastern suburbs we visited the towns of Wallacia, Warragamba, Narellan, The Oaks and Nattai. Lots of caches were found; on the ground, dangling in trees, on signs, in stumps and even one in a haunted house. Whilst most of the caches were familiar we did strike some very ingenious ones. A large percentage of the finds were quick, however, there were some that had us scratching our heads for a while. All in all, it was a very enjoyable day out and I would like to thank all the CO's of the caches for hiding and maintaining the caches that we visited. And yes, I did read the reason/history for each cache in the lead up to the trip.
Let’s make the area of Camden unsafe today: MavEtJu goes Camden!
Just hanging around somewhere else today.
Just hanging around somewhere else today.
Found with nissan 65 on a day trip caching. Beautiful day off work. Thankyou for the cache .
Second attempt at this one also resulted in another night time search at the end of a full day caching. On one hand it meant easy parking and less muggles but at least I knew what I was looking for after confirming with PAFs the co-ords were slightly out and the hide was different to what I was expecting. Barely needed a torch this time.
Heading to the central coast via the blue mountains for the weekend, I stopped here along the way to make a night find,Found with geodog.
Thankyou The Booos for the cache

Second cache on my last-minute race to earn another piece of Mary Hyde's map. I've bought quite a few things from Steel Supply over the years, so hopefully they didn't mind me using their carpark late on Sunday night. Having parked almost on top of the cache I quickly decided what kind of hide I thought it was, but I still had several location options. Checking them by torchlight was difficult, and I broadened my options but found nothing. A check of previous logs made me realise that I had the right idea to start with, and eventually I spotted the cache. Signing done, I struggled to find the right spot to rehide. Definitely tricky by torchlight!
Just hanging around you say! I checked every tree! Then it occurred to me that there were other options for "hanging." TFTC
Been meaning to get this one for ages but it never is a good time as it is so busy, so finally early on a sunday morning we found it. Great hide. TFTC
Found with Lucky Cricket and Little Cricket. A nice early start made this one muggle free, great hide. TFTC
Tried this one the other day and when I arrived I knew I couldn't do during the week too many muggles so stopped today found in less than minute first to sign new log and off home we go. Tftc
The Geowife is going to Newcastle for lunch - without me! So I decided to head in the opposite direction for some caches.
Having finished my streak last month, the question became "What is my next goal?" Apart from the obvious - finishing my D/T grid (drat those 4½ & 5 terrains) - I decided that by the end of 2017 I would have at least 5 finds on each calendar day. That represents at least one find per day for each year I'll have cached (2013 - 2017).
Currently, this represents just over 90 days, but quite a few of them only need one find. On the other hand, less than ten calendar days only have two finds. Today is one of them.
Maybe 15 finds today was overkill... Naaaah! It's all good - except for the two DNFs.
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
And here was the first DNF. Had a late lunch after the last find in the pie shop - nice pie but the drink was ridiculously expensive - on reflection I suspect I was overcharged.
Like the last find there was a security camera pointing GZward. and there seemed two likely areas that the iPhone just couldn't decide between. 15 minutes later I was feeling very conspicuous so gave it up.

Sadly couldn't find this one, even with the help of a Geofriend who had found previously.
We would like to retract our last post and say we Reassessed the situation and now able to log a find. TFTC
