Certainly an interesting and unusual feature. There was plenty of safe parking here so it was a good spot to pause and consider my options for the next few cache find attempts. As expected, this cache was quickly found.
After a bit of a mishap yesterday we had to do a trip to Blenheim to pick up some spare keys to our brother's campervan. Apparently, those vans lock themselves when we did not expect it to do so, especially when the keys are inside the van.So we were up and out the door early and heading for the spare keys. At the event last week, I had said that we were not going to bother with the souvenir challenge that is on at the moment. Well with an unexpected trip over the hill the challenge was discussed and a plan or two was made.We were going to go to the airport to do the adventure lab caches there but with the road closed we were diverted to this area, and then I noticed a bumandworker cache. So of course we detoured to come and look for it, the dog hut is very cute. The cache was in great condition and was a nice easy find. Thanks for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley

Quick snag and tag on our way past today. CheersReplaced broken cache container and log here.Matisons! is visiting from Latvia so we teamed up caching around Marlborough today.
The pill bottle was in pieces, so I put them into the baggie and hid it I'll leave it to the next finder to decide if this one needs to be archived or replaced. TFTC.
**20,280**Thats one pretty awesome dog house. Mrs Geckoh would like Mr Geckoh to build one like that, although the current one we have is pretty good. A nice quick find here. Attached are some photos of our dogs house! TFTC
Right, on a role night caching and doing a route about Renwick and back to Blenheim. Sorry for the generic logs.
My present personal challenge is to turn my geocaching calendar a further shade of green. That means finding 15 caches today (for a total of 26) and bingo that day is greener. Well as I’m working this evening it meant an early start - very early 5 am! Targeting some park and drive and managed to collect all 15 before the sun was up. Surprising what you can do with a good torch. The container was broken but the plastic bag and log as fine. Thanks for the smiley
Located on a Trail run today. Unfortunately I have no space for a pen when doing this so my photo is my log.
The dog hut would count as a $1m family home in Takapuna.
Found the cache, struggled to extract log but managed in the end.

An appropriate hint Thank you bumandworker for this cache.

Visiting Blenheim for the weekend. Number nine for the day. Off out for a few caches, lunch and some wine tasting with non-caching friends. Logs a bit smelly otherwise ok.
Today we made a trip to Blenheim to attend Capperz's final event down here. Along the way we wandered here and there a picked up a few caches to put some more smiles on our map. I should learn to read the cache page in full before hunting for the cache. Never mind was still a quick find. tftc
Heading up north for a few days, had a great drive up to Blenheim today 60 caches for the day, road busy and foggy in places. Thanks to all the caches placers - Bitsprayer
Dropped off a replacement log, to go with the original still there, both now in a plastic bag too.
I scoped this one out a few days ago in daylight and now this morning, in the pre-winter and pre-dawn air, I did a river crossing and followed the wine plants to get here more directly, on foot. The log however, disintegrated when I removed it and was very difficult to write on. When I'm passing next time I might do the CO a favour and place a new log and a plastic bag to keep it dry, maybe in a new container too.
Found the cache across the road from the fancy school bus shelter. Log was damp and looking a bit worse for wear. Tftc
I needed to use up my free AMEX flight and with no family trips planned, a day trip to Blenheim was arranged. Lots of cache varieties and different difficulties as well. There were too many caches to do individual logs. Thanks to all the COs. TFTC.
Quick find this morning with eltee291. Not where we figured it would be pulling up but we managed. Neat spot! Signed the log and replaced as found. Visiting from British Columbia, Canada. Thanks for the cache!
Quick find this morning with hingis20 as we roam the roads of Marlborough for caches. Cute hut. Visiting NZ from Victoria, BC, Canada. TFTC
Have driven past this one a few times, but there was always too much activity around previously. Bit quieter today, and with the car as a geoshield it was a simple log. Didn't check out the kennel too much though. TFTC B&W
Ha, never noticed this, thanks for drawing my attention! Cache was quick to find and sign, nobody around, tftc.
I had hoped to have a big day caching before catching the ferry back to the North Island in the evening. However with it being so wet, I just found 17 caches - and gave up my all-day plan and caught an earlier ferry. Signed log in the car and returned as found. Thanks for the cache.
Out and about on a stifling Friday evening with hubby (Kiwimykl) adding to my total by collecting a whole bunch of local caches. We went to the furthest from home first and will work our way back to town along Old Renwick Road and its tributaries.
Kiwimykl already has this one which could have made it easier for me, but I didn't need his help for a QEF PnG.

A nice quick find after work today, cool bus shelter for the local school kids. T F T C b&w
I'm slowly tidying up all these handy caches close to work and home, great to have so many options nearby to keep the daily streak going until the end of the year.
Cheers

Beaut spot..surprised that the wall hanging remains...I hope for many years to come, tftc
Mrs Waimearev had a day meeting Marlborough so Waimearev tagged along and spent the day ducking and diving geocaching. Thanks for the geocache hide.
#942. Another quick park and grab before heading to the airport. The little dog hut was worth checking out. Cache soon found. Then off to the next one along the road. TFTC
Quick PnG on a roundabout way getting home... Freezing cold wind out - this may be the start of winter for real now.
TFTC on a quiet back country road.

Once I had been fortified after my 5hr MTB ride earlier in the day it was time to climb aboard the cachemobile and go sign off a puzzle cache. This cache was not much further away so it just had to be visited. I loved Dog Hut, with its original artwork hanging on the wall and roll up door. Very cosy for the kids waiting for the school bus. TFTC.
In Blenheim for the long weekend and wanted to push towards 1000 finds. Tftc
In Blenheim to day to see some old war planes and catch up with family. So after to meany cups of tea it's time to head home with so meany caches to chose from hear is a selection of them and thanks for the caches. Started looking in the obverse my mistake
I had an errand to run earlier this afternoon which took me past this cache. Never one to waste an opportunity, I researched the cache and stopped across the road from the Dog Hut.
As my statistics show a high proportion of B&W's caches, I didn't even have to look at the distance or bearing on c:geo to work out where the prize was, and managed to nail it straight away. The cache and log were in good condition and one of the main advantages of B&W's caches is that I don't have to listen to any obscure music with a tenuous link to the cache.

[green] Out on the bike on a beautiful day, colouring in another dot day. Doing a few caches just to the west of Renwick, and taking the long and interesting way back. Which is how I ended up here.
I hadn't read the cache description before arriving at the cache, so when I looked in the hut I was rather surprised, and echoed B&W's comments - what is this?? A more comfy than average school bus stop?

Out for our evening hunt and decided to do a bit of a circle starting with this one. Tried to tell hubby that I was going to make this his new home but he wasn't having a bar of it. QEF with crman1. TFTC!!
Had spotted a car stop at another cache we had just done, but when it stopped here we knew it was a geocacher. Good to run into you again TallGuy789.
Strange building - pretty fancy dog hut!

Holidaying at the top of the South Island with tmann421. Many thanks to all the CO's for making this a memorable trip.
An interesting hut across the road. Couldn't quite work out its purpose. While we were pondering that tallguy789 parked up to collect the cache

Found on a beautiful Renwick evening after eating a little too much dinner with the friends we are staying with. What a strange little building - very interesting indeed. Bumped into a couple of fellow geocachers. Kinda obvious when you both stop at seemingly random spots along the road. Always nice to have a chat with other people with the geocaching bug. TFTC.
Found this cache on our way from picton - havelock - bleinheim - kaikorou Today was an awesome day, we started by little walk in the picton by sunrise, after that we went on a panoramatic drive on our way to havelock, we were even visiting vineyards in bleinheim and ended up in kaikourou while we were seal-watching just a fantastic day Thanks a lot
Put the kids to bed and left Mrs SB with a good book and mocha whilst I went out to mop up some caches. Thanks for all of the hides. Cool hut would have a great bus shelter!
Whoa..., New Year's Day already. My NY resolution is: start out the way you mean to finish! So, it was bright and early for a start to the day's caching!
Dog Point, now there's a very fine savvy.
Reasonably straightforward find. Cache in order, log signed; safely re-hidden, just as found.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too
The Turtle strikes again!

Most of the GZs on todays road trip had good parking, and all of the logs were in good condition. Some did have a wee bit of water, but the contents were fine.
Well, work has finished for the year, and it is time for the annual road trip to Auckland. Today was from Christchurch to Picton, a longer way.
Thanks for the hide.

No dogs in the hut but plentry of sheep around. Great view of the Highfield Estate from the GZ. TFTC
Too good for a dog, perhaps it was used by children waiting for the school bus? Anyway, a quick find. TFTC.
#8093. A ute pulled up near the hut as we arrived; luckily they didn't hang around. TFTC.
A quick find on the way home after attending the Winter Solstice Event. I parked at the structure assuming that it was there. After reading the description I realised it was on the other side of the road. I waited for a car to pass before moving in for the kill. An easy find. Thanks for the cache and the smiley.
I had some work in Blenheim today so after that was done I had time for a couple of caches on my way home. An interesting construction, especially juxtaposed with the castle on the hill. TFTC, Biggles.
A great place for the kids to wait for the bus. Did you notice the blind that rolls down over the doorway? Presumably the driver has to toot the horn when she arrives so the occupants know it's time to douse the fire and hop aboard. Again, more interesting sights, thanks
A family trip with the Holy Labs. Children loved the dog hut. Andrew said that the dog must be 8Ft tall!
Quick find. I came down this road to try and avoid the traffic muggles, but at 6pm it was still busy. Thanks
Funny how we wanted to escape the forecast of a hot day in Nelson and the temp before 12-00pm already hit over 30°C to eventually reach 35°C in the shade up the Wairau Valley. If you think you have everything and need a bus shelter for the kids why not have a cobb-shelter build with all conveniences? Cute. TFTC
Wow, this is some dog kennel! Gas fire and all. It was hot enough crossing the road to get the cache so no gas fire needed today. TFTC.
