We are travelling to Kaikoura for the night. We're meant to be 4x4 into Clarence but canceled. Accommodation paid for and no refund so decided to cache on way here. Normally in motorhome so nice to stop and get some smiles. Thanks for the cache bumandworker.
My husband and I are on holidays from Brisbane Australia and today we travelled from Christchurch to kaikaro and found a few smiley's along the way. Thanks for placing this cache here for us to enjoy

We seem to be dragging this rain around with us as we cache, fortunately this one was a nice quick find so didn't get too wet. TFTC

Quick road trip after flying south to pick up the new caching mobile. Thanks for a drive by.
Found this quickly, cache all good tftc
Planned West Coast trip put on hold due to atrocious weather. So an alternative route was needed to avoid the rain. Not so! The rest of the south island copped it too..though on a lesser degree. So mainly driving north with the odd random cache finds. Seeing plenty of country less travelled a bonus.

A nice easy find on my way south. Busy roads this time of year.TFTCP.S Sorry for very late logging.
Off on a road trip to Chch for the weekend. With limited time and raining on and off. We still managed to get in a bit of caching along the way. Down the East cost and back up the West cost was the plan but stormy weather put a stop to that. With no roads open to get home on we stopped in Kaikoura for an unplanned extra night. So thank you for for the caches you placed out there for us to find we had fun and frustration finding them along the way. Looking forward to the next trip to find the ones we missed. Apologies for the cut and paste.
A quick stop to grab this cache, have replaced the log with a new waterproof log, tftc bumandworker
Heading up to Motunau for the Event & "expedition" - I decided to detour and find a cache or 2 along the way.
Thanks for this cache, b&w. I love the "canyon views" along here.

Day 10 of my 2020 NZE (New Zealand Experience).
(My apologies for the delayed logging but I'm in catch-up mode)
Seeing as I can't be in America right now, I'm touring around the South Island instead. During my time here I am aiming to find as many of the TMGT caches as I can (preferably all 41) and also as many Virtuals, Earthcaches and Letterbox Hybrids as possible, plus any Trads or others that will fill a hole in my D/T grid, my Jasmer grid, or else the last 3 remaining Hidden Dates on that grid.
Having slept parked up in Kaikoura overnight, I awoke to a very fresh but otherwise beautiful morning. Today's plan was to drive from Kaikoura back to Christchurch to catch up with an old friend there before heading further south after that.
Whilst I would simply not be able to stop at every cache I was near on my tour (otherwise I'd be taking 2 years instead of just 2 weeks) I was happy to randomly stop at caches in locations that caught my eye occasionally to break up the journey, such as this one. That way I hoped to be able to add a few more Minutes to my quest to fulfil a Challenge Cache back home.
Once I had parked up and walked towards GZ, I had the place to myself to be able to search uninterrupted, and it wasn't long before I had located the cache. The log entries are all over the place, with virtually no room anywhere to sign in any kind of sequence. I found a small space under ROSMAR's log from 2014.No issues with this cache, which was signed and replaced as found.
Thanks for placing this cache.

Today I am travelling from Kaikoura to Christchurch. Finding a few caches along the way. The weather has packed it in and was cold, wet and drizzling most of the way so I tried to go for caches that looked like they would be fairly easy to find. Parked across the road and made my way carefully to the cache. A bit muddy here today but no problems with the find. TFTC, Biggles.
Lucky for us a quick search at the GZ to locate this hide as it was rather chilly. TFTC
We left Feilding n.z nearly two weeks ago and went from picton to reefton over Arthur's pass which we really enjoyed then Christchurch for a couple of days to get a trail done and of course some other caches along the way so far we have managed to get over 300 caches a great effort we thought we would try and average 20 a day.
Now we are getting this cache a nice area to discover a cache stamped the log and placed it back where we found it thank you for placing a cache here and bringing us to this location. Cache is all good here tftc

Heading up to Kaikoura for the weekend and collecting a few caches along the way in between showers. Thanks to all the COs for placing these caches.

I was up at the top of the South Island competing in the South Island Orienteering Champs. This gave me some time to grab some caches on the way there and back. It was great fun to explore a new part of the coutntry.

After spending the night in Christchurch we were heading north after staying in Waimate for the week for personal reasons, it was time for us to leave Christchurch and make our way to Blenheim for the night. As usual I decided that as I was going to be passing a few Geo caches along the way if the chance allowed I would stop and pick up one or two.
After finding GCTBDY - Festival Church (Canterbury), it was time to continue making our way north, as we were heading north I decided to take another small break and this was the next cache that we had on my list to find today, saw this cache when I was making our way South so I knew exactly where I needed to pull over. As we neared GZ, it was time to pull out of the line of traffic and I drove down the farm track that was not too far from the main road and I soon found a safe parking spot that was close to GZ.
The walk over to GZ which was just under 20 metres and it was a very easy walk to GZ, once I got to GZ, I managed to spot the hint object very quickly and then it was just a matter of finding the cache.
Managed to retrieve the cache, signed and replaced the cache back where I found it. Thanks bumandworker for placing this cache here and for bringing us to this spot TFTC TNLNSL (13885). Just after replacing the cache the farmer from across the road arrived to inspect his crop, but didnt pay any attention as to what I was doing.
Now it is time to continue on our travel North to Blenheim.

Found with NZDi on our way home to Blenheim after an overnight trip to Christchurch. NZDi and I had been in Christchurch looking for furniture and décor items to fill our new house which we shift into next month. Having scored a FTF on the way down to Christchurch yesterday, and only one other while in the big city, we decided to grab a few on the way home. As we wanted to get home at a reasonable time, we picked a dozen or so PnGs close to the State Highway. As expected we didn't find all of them and ended up with a tally of ten for the day.
I was looking for the Canyon as we approached and thought we were in the wrong place until I read the cache page properly. Pulled up at GZ and looked at one hinted item... no luck there. Looked at the second hinted item and discovered the cache in a typical B&W hide. Log was slightly damp but writable. there is only space for about three more logs in the log book.

Not much vision over the paddocks as it was quite dark outside. But I managed to find the cache without even a light source!

Kaikoura
What an experience it has been caching in Kaikoura, every way you turned it was either mountain or sea scenery. We learnt so much abour the earthquake you had here last year,

A nice wee stop to break up the journey. It's certainly quieter out here now that SH1 isn't as well used. Tftc.
I have been eyeing up Cheviot for a while. With the end of daylight savings looming I decided that today was the day. Unfortunately I started my day with a dnf. Phew. My first find. Wouldn't you know it as soon as I wanted to slow down there was traffic. There was plenty of room to pull over though.

Sadly the end of our holiday was coming closer - only ten days left - and we were heading north again.
Our 5000th cache wasn't far away either, it would be in the South Island, but were exactly?
We would know soon. In the meantime we stopped as often as possible without making too many detours.
Many thanks to all the owners for all the great caches we could find!

Second stop on my cruisey way home from a weekend meeting in Chch. Easy find in the rain, managed to retrieve and replace in between passing traffic. Decided I'd just collect PNGs that I could safely get off the road to get - not in a torrential downpour and without anyone riding my tailpipe in their desperate attempt to get somewhere at 120km/h. Apologies for the late logging of this one (02/10). TFTC
quick and easy drive in. nice sheepherd across the road. took some pics. thanks for the box
I dropped by on my way north this morning. I think it was around 2c when I pulled up. I'm glad it didn't take to long to find it.
