Very very cheeky wee hide! Wasn't sure if I should be pulling what I was pulling when I realized it was the log ! Great one to find while the Kiddo burnt off energy before dinner. Can't wait to do some more evening caches as it gets lighter in the evening Nga mihi
Very cleverly hidden, tricky to find at first but had a closer look and we found it. Well done. Big fan! Thanks
Day 6: The Road to OamaruTodays journey was a long one, bringing us from the South up to the northern part of Otago, via Middlemarch. Todays blustery conditions added to the fun and challenge of finding caches, though otherwise the weather remained perfect. The highlight of the day were the Sutton Salt Lake cache and the Moeraki Boulders, and both did not disappoint. Thanks to all the COs for making this leg of the journey an enjoyable one! (End of the cut and paste bit)Heres the specific log for this cache:I thought this was going to be a fast one since I knew exactly the host this was going to be on but I checked all the obvious spots to find nothing. That was a head-scratcher, but I persisted and found the nicely camouflaged cache in an unexpected nook. Very nice - TFTC!
That was a hard one! Glad there were no muggles around. Kept coming back to the same spot and finally found it!
Hard one to find but clever! Pretty fun for our small group. No muggles around.
Out on a day trip with MinionOne - where shall we go? Where the blue skies are I reply. So away we went north from Dunedin. Travelled up towards Oamaru and decided to travel on the random roads and grab a few geocaches.
All good here and clever hide.
All good here and clever hide.
This cache was amazing, so much fun had me looking for a while, very fitting name TFTC
Had a brief look but was uncomfortable with being so close to a Covid testing place. Not that they had any customers but it meant that I was feeling a bit conspicuous
Out cycling around Oamaru seeking caches. As I approached GZ I could see that the GZ location was being used as a Covid testing station so I broke off my approach to keep clear of all the possibly infected people.
An appropriately named cache. Jude_E are on another road trip. We're stopping in Oamaru today. Thanks for hiding this cache hill55 I appreciate it.
Easter break and it’s time to catch up on the year to date coins. Got some out west and headed into Oamaru for lunch. Then back to Weston.

School holiday outing on a lovely day, so took the kiddo to what was our local haunt when we were teens. She found this incredibly fast... shes got the knack! Tftc
Quick find, although I think we call this a micro instead of a small in Chicago. I’m a long, long way from there now though so you can call it whatever you like. I also call it “found” and TFTC!
Greetings from Wellington. I had the privilege today of not only visiting Oamaru, but also the privilege of introducing my niece to geocaching. She was really excited and so her, myself, and her dad headed out together. I opened the geocaching app, gave it to my niece and she left the way. When it came to finding this particular cache we made a nice quick find thanks to your hint. So the log book has been signed and the cache is nicely back in it's spot all ready for the next hunter. Thanks heaps for taking the time to set up this cache. I really appreciate your efforts in doing so. TFTC.
GPS had me all over the place even though this was the first spot i tried i had to return to it 3 times to actually spot the little bugger TFTC
Found during a long-overdue day of geocaching with safetykat in Oamaru. I should have picked this one up far, far sooner than I did - but at least I picked it up. Clever! Nothing particularly difficult about it otherwise - good spot and good hide. The only piece of curiosity I had was the copious amount of cars nearby, but a considerable lack of people... no sporting events or anything. Weird. Cheers!
After being at the supermarket had a wee detour on the way home. Nice and quick find. TFTC
Heading to Geraldine to cache up with BCD. Decided to meet in Oamaru and enjoy the lovely autumn sunshine and find a cache or ten. Nice quick find here and glad to finally have a smiley after a previous DNF TFTC
This is day four of a ten day trip down to Dunedin and back to move my daughter to Dunedin so she can get her master’s degree at Otago University.
I am now on the road heading north. I don’t need to make too many miles, so I can concentrate on a few caches.
I was the first to sign the new log book. TFTC.

Couldn't find this last time I was visiting from Palmy Nth back in Aug 2016. I clearly wasn't looking hard enough as it was a very quick find today. TFTC
Found with TTT. Having a wonderful time caching with the group and going to all of the Geofest events! Thanks for the cache!
The (major road trip was about to begin) that was for the Oamaru Geofest trip in the company of HKCB and iammrwalker for a bit of a road trip across to the west coast, through Haast and in a roundabout way to Oamaru.
My trip stats were as follows: 617 caches (214 Puzzles), 3300kms, 500 litres of Petrol, 21 hours sleep, 100+hours caching time. THe weather was wonderful and apart from about a 6hour period on the sunday we had fine weather all the way and feel that we made a bit of a hole in the region.
Firstly thanks to all the CO's that put in the effort to to set up these caches and to all the CO's whose caches we did not find this trip, well we are already planning our next trip.
We worked hard at getting specific caches (especially the Geo Art around christchurch and hence our concentration on this area for the preliminary 24 hours. So after a couple of running repairs to the rental vehicle (fuses not working) we were off knowing that all ports could be charged and that sleep was for the weak.
Sorry about the copy and paste logs but that is what tends to happen with a number run of this size. What a day this was going to be and a chance to have a good look around the area. It was amazing to wake up after having afull nights sleep and not have that sand in the eyes feeling and sore back from sleeping in the back of a car. Starting the day off working our way along the coast, followed by a spot of inland caching before making it back to Oamaru for a bite to eat followed by a bit more caching.

Came down this way from the North for the Oamaru Geofest, and decided to add a few more days to the weekend trip and turn it into a bit of a Mega mission, starting 5pm on Wednesday 18th and finishing 3pm Monday 23rd! Teaming up with Cats&Dragons for the first 24 hours then with Iammrwalker joining the team for the remainder.
Just a few of the stats for the trip were:
- 700 caches found, including 270+ puzzles (thanks to the Christchurch Geoart)
- 3300 km's driven, using over 500L of fuel $$$
- Just over 20 hours of sleep (about 4 per day on average), and about 100 hours of caching time.
Certainly a Mega Trip!
Day 5: With a good nights sleep for the first time this trip, we were up early and out the door for another full days caching. The goal for today was to cache our way down to the Moeraki Boulders and then see where the next cache lead us. One thing we were looking out for today was caches which hadn't been found in a long time.
Sorry about the cut and past logs, but that seems to happen with cache runs of this size!

I found this Geocache on a Geocaching mega mission along with Cats&Dragons and HKCB. With only just over three and half thousand Geocache finds I was very much the over achiever in training. We were in the South Island to support the Oamaru Geofest event, hunt down some Jasmar and D/T harder to find Geocaches, lonely caches (those not found in more than 6 months), virtuals and try and meet some milestone numbers. We signed the logs HIC, an abbreviation of our respective Geocaching names, (H)KCB, (I)ammrwalker and (C)ats&dragons. A huge thanks to all the CO’s who placed and maintain the Geocaches we found.
I arrived in Christchurch late Thursday evening having left straight from work and was picked up by my intrepid companions in our four wheel drive rental to find they had already grabbed about 270 finds in the previous twenty four hours. I wonder if the rental company would have still let us have it had they known we would travel 3300km in it before returning it four days later? Our trip took us to Greymouth via Arthurs pass, Ngahere, down the west coast to Haast across to Hawea, Cromwell, Twizel, Aoraki Mt Cook, Tekapo, onto the east coast up to Oamaru and back up to Christchurch via Akaroa and countless diversions and small towns along the way. We slept in the car for the first two nights, grabbing some shut eye between cache finds, taking turns to drive. We rented a small place in Oamaru for the other two nights and appreciated a bed to sleep in and a hot shower. It was an amazing trip, in which I discovered the South Island has some of the most incredible scenery in the world.

So Mama, Papa and Guwapo have some time for some caching this afternoon. The location was obvious but the sneaky hide took a few looks before Guwapo spotted the hide. Salamat!
Since we only had a day in Oamaru, we decided to go and find a few around the clues for the interesting multi. TFTC!!
This cache was found during our Oamaru Geofest Road Trip and logged as TTT (Trans Tasman Team). Thanks you for the placement. Was a great weekend filled with lots of fun and caching of course. Quickly found this morning

As we exited car, a friend of a friend pulled up. I had found and signed very discretely before Searchwisely had even realised. Thanks.
Quite a creative little hide, log nice and dry. Brings back memories of my hockey days from primary school and having to meet up outside the building on Saturdays after our games to find out who got player of the day and a moro bar. TFTC
