Sometimes it's just about the numbers and this run was for that and if course the planetary souvenirs. I truly admire those that have done 100 or more, we were exhausted after just over 50 but that gets us half way there. We still enjoyed the driving and looking on the back roads and thank you for your effort in putting them there for us to do this run. TFTC
Log very wet and no spares, sorry
Log very wet and no spares, sorry
Mrs Esky, along with a muggle friend, travelled Stanthorpe way on a numbers run in preparation for the next milestone. However, on leaving home the weather didn't look too promising...only clearing around Applethorpe. Priorities in order...our first stop at Stanthorpe was the bakery for morning tea & a coffee to warm up...temp was 14 deg!
Down to the business of caching we worked our way around Stanthorpe before slowly caching our way north (and homewards) accumulating a record number of caches in the day for the Eskies with a total of 57...and only one brief shower along the way. Thanks to all the COs for a fantastic day.
Note: I have just realised that I signed EVERY single log for the 2nd instead of the 3rd.

Harlequin frog had also hopped away from its cache, but the cache remained ok. Signed the log even though the log was fairly damp. Put the log in a new bag. TFTC.
Found Harlequin, no joker though. Made our mark on the log, which as previously noted is wet. We did tip the water out of the container & returned upside down to try & minimise the amount of water getting in. Cache may need sone attention or waterproofing Tftc cm & 2S xo
Tftc Cache Maker, Found easily but log wet thank heaven for the power pen!! Smiles all round!
Last few caches on our way home from Stanthorpe with KerriMG.

Found with REMSJW, jemillalucy, mnance101, and bennyboppers. We are also known as the Tough Mothers as sogn in as tm x 5
Away for the weekend with tough mother's to clear up the area. Its been awesome thanks for all the caches.
TFTC... 30/9/17. On the hunt in unfamiliar territory with Tough Mothers. Lots of smileys on offer, this is one of them.
I set out bright and early this morning for a day of caching, but not before I'd kidnapped a geo-guru on my way through Toowoomba, to be my chauffeur, and to find a few he had yet to get further south. It was a big day and a good day. Found this one and it was very soggy but I was able to sign the log, thanks for the cache!
Out on a beautiful May day with the family, aiming to get 100 caches in one day...wish us luck! Go team! Cache #87

Accurate coordinates led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks the cache maker for the cache.
Back again driving the country roads, stepping through long grass and over the logs and boulders. How else would you choose to spend Easter Sunday?
We saw many animals and experienced a few events along this road, we’ll walk you through it:
We over shot the mark here as there was one of those fictitious streets that turn up on the geo-cache map, but that wasn’t the only problem here, the frogs are bountiful out here…

With a milestone coming up, I decided to go roadtrippin' down to the Granite Belt and Tenterfield to pick up a swag of smilies I missed while visiting for the Mega last year. Left Brisbane at 0330 and after 15 hrs on the road driving 650kms, managed to find precisely 100 caches .
Hadn't heard of these frogs before. Found the container quite wet inside, log soaked and barely writable.
This cache is in poor condition, thanks **the cache maker (maintenance helped by 2 Shadows)** for showing us this spot. Discover our code TGQNRV, and mention where you saw it.

On our last day of weekend, it was raining and I mean that. It was pouring rain. The parks were flooded and I was together with crazy people who still continued caching. This was one cache which we found in the rain.
Long weekend - perfect timing to geocache around Stanthorpe and clear up some green dots. Nadine1989 is in the company of Mr and Mrs RoddyC.
This cache was found on day 3, exploring the eastern section of the Southern Downs area between Warwick and the Granite Belt.
Quick find even though it was wet.
Log signed & replaced again. Found at 10.50am on 3rd October, 2016. TFTC

Went on a caching trip back on August 28/29 2016. Did over 350 caches over the weekend and only managed to log the rest of it now. The girls took me out for a bday weekend caching. Found with chasing adventures and Thehinds of the Triple threat crew
Day 2
A wonderful weekend away in Stanthorpe resulting in 374 finds, including 22 mystery (Stanthorpe Apple) and 1 Earthe cache. I hoped to log each individually as I usually would but the tyranny of time prevents me from continuing to try and achieve this goal. A big thank you to all the Stanthorpe CO's. We said many times we wish we had more consolidated trails in Brisbane. TFTC

2/7/16 Out caching with Marina25 and my two semi-muggle children. We are on a mission to get Marina25 to 1000 finds by mid-July and she still needs approx. 300 . So….what better place to grab a bucket load of caches then out here. We left home at 4:52am with the kids rugged up with blankets hoping they would fall back asleep (the boy did, the girl didn’t – but they both slept on the way home [^]). We found our fist cache at 7:23 am (GC3YDQE) and our last cache at 5:31pm (GC4AGVK). At the end of the day we had found 220 caches , 4 DNFs , cached for 10hrs and 8mins (including a 25min lunch stop ), with a 16hr and 5min round trip. On the drive out the temperature was noted to be -2 degrees at 6:40am, but on the whole the weather was delightful.
Usually my children complain about going geocaching (and to begin with, today was no exception) but soon enough the daughter started helping and then I couldn’t stop her. She even managed to find a few before me . In the days leading up to this adventure we loaded a large number of caches onto our iPhones and I also decided to do a pocket query onto my GPS, just in case. I am so glad I did as at one point our loaded caches on the phones had run out and service was not sufficient to download any more . A great day was had by all and I am very keen to come back and complete the various series we started today.
Sorry for the copy and paste logs and unless noted all is good with this cache. A big thankyou to all the CO’s and those that maintain these caches. TFTC

Went out today with a mission in mind to try and get 100 caches, so the plan was plotted, and Annett (AKA 14NET) downloaded the power trails between Warwick and Stanthorpe. We headed OFF at 4:52am for our 183KLM trip to Warwick and a further 20 KLM to our first cache. It is now 7:23am and number 1 was in our grasp we checked our times every 10 caches, to accomplish our mission we had to get 1 cache each 3.2 minutes, we had 10 by 7:55am we were right on target. The hunt was on and no time to lose, when we got to cache 100 we were well ahead of time and a new mission came to mind let’s get 200, our best 10 caches was done in 14 minutes that was 1.4 mins per cache, our goal is now becoming a reality. We get to number 200 and there is still daylight whoohoo let’s see how many more before nightfall. We logged our last cache number 220 at 5:31pm and arrived home at 8:57 pm. Thank you 14 NET for being a very motivated caching buddy and also the Geo Grand Kiddies for being such great sports. TFTC to all the CO’S and Cache maintainers.
Travelling back home after wonderful holidays in NSW. Grabbing some smilies on the way back. Tftc
Out with Cachemeifyoucam to run around the area and get as many caches as we can. Really good series, enjoyed all of the finds
I was on the way back to town when I thought what the heck, why not. So I turned off and jumped out again for the 290 something time today. I found all but one along this road. I came back in the morning on the way home for a day light look but it was gone unfortunately. All the rest were pretty straight forward with great containers to boot. Except for the last one, that took awhile to find. Sneaky sneaky. I have one similar back home actually. Come to think of it, the cattle grid took some finding too and it was just there, it's been a long day.
Thanx again cache maker, enjoyed finding your caches over the 20 odd hours today.
Cheers

Found by "A" as we spent a second afternoon finding some of the many caches nearby. Signed log. TNLN Thanks to all the cache owners who have taken their time to place so many caches in the area.
Another silent frog! It didn't stop us finding the container, but there was no sign of the frog - maybe he hopped out to lunch?? Cache had a bit of water inside so we emptied it out. Gram4380 had some plastic bags in the car for us to replace for the log book's protection as the previous bag wasn't doing the best job on keeping the log book in tip top condition. It had a bit of residue from the inside of the cache container, was a tad moist, but was still sign-able. Thanks.
The cache was quickly found, although was quite wet. We dried as best we could and changed the bag. Log book was ok. Thanks for bringing us along this road the cache maker
Just a drive around to try to collect some of the caches I missed last time I was here. Found some, didnt find some, but had a great time. Thanks for these caches, and for maintaining them.

At a bit of a loose end so we decided a day just north of Stanthorpe, to clear a few caches we had no signal for on our last few trips south, was in order.
Apologies if some logs are a bit generic but we converted 95 to smilies today!
Yet another quickie.
Found baggie left open. Resealed.

What a great region this is! We have spent the last few days enjoying the scenery, the attractions, and also the caches.
Thank you to the COs of these series of caches for their diligence and thoughtfulness in giving visitors to this region a vast number of little (and not so little) gems to discover and the opportunity to see so much countryside which quite possibly could never have been seen except to a very select number of passers-by.
Shockers were very aware of the beautiful sunburnt countryside as they travelled along the forest tracks and nearby highways and by-ways. The farmers’ friends (grass seeds that catch onto your clothing) were prolific and will stay with us for many a day!
Thanks to all involved for these caches. Please excuse the generic comments as so many of these caches were discovered that it would take a month of Sundays to record separate notes on each one. Suffice to say they all had aspects of real inventiveness.
Very few of the caches we looked for were not found. There was one road, in particular, along which there had been a bulldozer which appeared to have removed the cache hides by devastating the roadside edges. It was a little ‘over the top’ in our opinion. We also noticed that several of the caches did not have their lids properly replaced resulting in the contents becoming quite damp to sodden.
We have had a great time – thank you!

QLD Mega trip 2015 with Sol de Lune. On this almost 400km road trip we drove from Canberra to Stanthorpe caching in all the towns along the way with mostly great success. Around the Mega there were heaps of caches to be done including a few power trails. Despite the weather we got all of the planned caches done.
Day eleven took us back north to do more of the trails. We ere joined by Rapidlywild and SpecimenX for the morning. After a creative drive to get to our starting point we powered through all of the remaining animals by lunch. Then it was back to town to head our different ways. Sold De Lune and I headed out to the Bald rock road to do the remaining caches out that way. Thanks.

After the Mega was done and dusted, we headed for Warwick with iluvtrekking to complete the power trail and collect a few other smileys along the way. Thanks the cache maker
I normally avoid power trails as being a solo traveler and an old fart, I find it difficult stopping every 160meters getting out and in and so on. BUT I had to make an exception here as I know the CO (&co) and knew that the quality and variety would be good. And I was right in thinking so.
OH, disappointed here, frog must have gotten bored waiting and has hopped off, (or maybe someone thought it was a swap?) The container was ok though so log signed. Thanks cache maker.

Today specimenX and myself had a goal, we wanted to finish the powertrails. We had organised to meet up with Sol De Lune and Albida who are also from Canberra and with the 4 of us loaded up at 8am, off we went in order to hit as many as possible.
We had managed to knock over just over 100 caches in just under 4 hours and soon after, we were in a position where SDL and ALB had found ones we were missing. So we were returned to the Mega site to jump in our geomobile and from there we went seperate ways. With the very first cache collected at 0850, the ver last cache collected at 2122 with a ~2 hour break, we managed 226 cache finds in a 10 hour caching period. This is our biggest daily achievement to date !!!
Some caches were easy, some a little more difficult, all in all, no DNF's to record and the Stanthorpe powertrails are now officially COMPLETE
The weather was nice to us today and the roads remained dry enough to get around without any issues.
Thanks the cache maker for placing this cache for us to make a find on

Up from Canberra and found with Rapidlywild on a two week geomission around the Gold Coast and, of course, for the MEGA
Today's plan for us was to complete the powertrails we had left around Stanthorpe and to nab any randoms along the way. A plan was hatched with our fellow ACT geomates, Sol de Lune and Albida33, the night before to join them at 8am to see how many we could knock off.
With just over 100 caches nabbed in under 4 hours, we were up to the point where Sol and Albida had already found the ones we had yet to get. So with that we all returned to Mega GZ to freshen up, then RW and I continued on to knock over the remaining caches we had left to collect on the power trails.
All up we made 226 finds in 10hrs-not a bad effort I reckon and it made for our biggest day yet!
Thanks to all of the CO's who placed the caches for us to find on a most enjoyable day. As a powertrail co-owner, I can appreciate the work involved in setting them up!

Day five for us at Stanthorpe, attending the Mega event. The previous day was very wet and up until today we really had not got many numbers. Today we finish up the Stan puzzles (has taken us 3 days to find these, been taking it reaaaaaaal slow). We own a series of Animal Facts in SA and couldn't go past doing some of these animal caches on this trail and surrounding trails. Finishing the day with 202 finds and no DNF's
Thanks to all CO for your efforts in putting out these caches.

I found this cache while visiting Australia from New Zealand and while staying in Stanthorpe for several days for the 2015 Mega Event. Today I joined forces with fellow kiwis Cats&Dragons, Alpenmilch80, Vamber and Yorkshirekiwi83 (signing our logs as "CAVVY" to save time and log space.) Today we headed North of Stanthorpe again, to do the Fruit Run series and other caches in the area. Unfortunately the weather wasn't the best today, so it was a very wet days caching! Apologies for the copy and paste logs, but its hard to remember them all! TFTC!

Second day out with the New Zealand crew which included Cats&Dragons, vamber, vistra and yorkshirekiwi83 (signed logs as CAVVY) to get those power trails done. Even through it was a very wet day we had a lot of fun finding all of those hides. TFTC
Today is day 3 of the QLD MEGA 2015, so Barb and I decided to head north and get some of the animals caches and a few other nearby caches. Really enjoying the different containers. TFTC
I did not have the names of the caches in front of me and my caching buddy was making me "guess the animal". Well I did not guess this one. Too clever for me.
Day 3 of the Mega was another early start to meet up with some other fellow kiwis, (vistra, yokshirekiwi83, Cats&Dragons and alpenmilch80) to complete some more of the trails around Stanthorpe. Another fun day of some super power caching in the area, juggling the dodgy parking (sometimes creative) on these busy country roads with two cars. Signed the logs as C.A.V.V.Y. to save time and space. Thanks for all the caches!
In Qld from SA for the Mega event and having a great time, out today with Felix II and K.B. doing some power trails, apologies for the generic logs, but very much appreciate the efforts of the CO. TFTC
