I remember there used to be a cache here, and then there wasn't, so it is good to see it back. Great parking too! Thanks, gracie7 + Mum. #10319
This is the first one one of this series for us - a quick find on our way back to Christchurch. Great to have good parking nearby - tftc
Stopped at the conservation area. Inhaled some chocolate - more energy to cache! Found with Piwaka54.#whowantstobegrownup
Nice easy grab. I discovered today that your cache containers attach themselves nicely to the bonnet of my car while I sign the log!

#10,025. Day 2 of the extended Labour Weekend geocaching road trip. I flew down with geocaching buddy Infoferret yesterday with a target list of geotour caches, adventure labs, puzzle finals, a few virtuals and a hike to get the DGSC final. We can't resist stopping to pick up a few traditionals on the way to boost the overall numbers. The Adventure Labs claimed during the week down south have thrown my overall numbers into chaos. Maybe the souvenir 10,000 find will pop up today rather than on Bank's Peninsula. Who knows when.
We parked close by but had to wait for some workmen and their trucks to pull out and leave before looking for the cache. Didn't take too long to find. All in good order. Signed the logbook, replaced where found and on our way again. Thanks gracie7 + Mum for hiding it here.

Found as part of an epic trip around the South Island with GSEL – from Akaroa to the West Coast and back again over the Arthurs and Lewis passes. The weather was amazing, and the scenery breathtaking.
Due to my lack of preparation, I had forgotten to load this cache on my phone and log at the time, hence a second round of catching up on the logs I forgot. I will add more notes for the caches where I can remember them! TFTC.
Adding a FP to this one as a thanks for this excellent series.

Went on a road trip with my daughter CalumD out to the West Coast and collected this while passing. A quick and easy find. TFTC.
Another barrier and another log signed! With Campmotherandken and heading back to Lake Lyndon. TFTC
As I was about to start looking for this one a road inspector stopped to see what I was doing. I explained geocaching to him and was soon on his way. I had the cache in hand shortly thereafter. Tftc
I am out on my own today, big bro had other things to do and besides he has found these caches earlier.
I am mainly locating and signing off th BtG series and any others that get in the way.
One of the BtGs.
Cheers for the cache.

A couple of nights at Portage Lodge so's we can explore this end of the pass. Heading out to Castle Hill Rocks, picking up a few caches on the way. Geokids loved this one as they kept ducking behind the wall every time they heard muggles approaching. There were lots today! Tftc
Last trip we decided not to stop for 5km from cache to cache. This time was more flexible - as we had not been able to stop for some so we were happy to stop for this one.
Thanks.
Thanks.
We had a big day out with our 4x4 club. Went through Mt White station and then down the Poulter River. On our way home we decided it was easy to stop and re check this blue frown. So much nicer not fighting our rain jackets and hoods like last time. Very happy to find a replacement cache and log book to sign. Thanks very much for this cache gracie7 + Mum.
On a 4WD trip with Coconuts3. Happy to turn this into a smiley. Thanks for replacing.
Mum had Lion meetings all day Saturday in Hanmer Springs then we spent Sunday around Rangiora doing maintenance checks on the Babies with abit of caching thrown in. Because today is Westland Anniversary day we headed home via ChCh to do some lab adventures first and then some maintenance on the way out of town. We stopped here due to the recent DNFs to see a nice new shiny 'different style' barrier. Lots of new potential hidey places and we were searching in the rain getting very wet. We decided to replace the cache so now there might be 2 caches here which just doubles your chances. All good to go here again. Happy Caching
There is a VERY new bit of barrier here and we wonder if the cache has gone. We certainly couldn't find anything today. However, the wind and showers don't make it too comfy to search for long. See what others find!
Out with busy paws to get caches and raining really hard now. Gave this a very good look but the barrier end is very different to the others we have seen. No luck for us.
Flukiest find of the day. I had completely and utterly given up and was sorting stuff in my cachemobile - - as one does, when suddenly I had a light-bulb moment. And of course the rest is history - - lucky happenstance sort of history Love it .

Heading over the hill on a Maintenance daytrip to visit some Smurfs but first a few stops along the way.
Wow has it been nearly a year since they laid the cones for this bridge repair?
We brought a new cache along with us as we suspected it would be missing and indeed had to use it.
New barrier, new log and container but ... same old listing. All good to go here again. Happy Caching

Another quick snag and tag, thankfully. Its still very cold out here as the day is waking up. Cheers.
Its Saturday and we explored from Lake Lyndon to Coal Pit Spur Track. So lets go!!
Its Queens Birthday weekend and The Seagnoid, Zara and I are heading out of town for a long weekend to Arthurs Pass, via Kaikoura. Had a fantastic weekend, seeing lots of new places, limestone formations, amazing views, awesome beech forest walks, but getting nowhere fast. Bloody cold at times with -3deg frosts but thankfully the snow stayed on the top of the highest mountains.. Enjoyed driving back via Lake Brunner, Murchison. An awesome few days exploring.

Brrr... 4 caches in and it is still not dawn yet. Come on, sun, hurry up, it's darn cold out here!
Taybeedragon and I are on a five day extended Queen's Birthday weekend. Happy birthday marm! The plan was to cache the Arthur's Pass route, from Rangiora to Lake Buller. You would think four days was enough to do the 211 kilometers, but we didn't even manage the 130 to Arthur's Pass village before we had to pull the pin Monday lunchtime for the drive back to Blenheim. But on the way we saw some amazing views, strange geology, weird amounts of ice in the puddles, ice on the inside of our windscreen - it was that cold. Caves, wonderful beech forests, rather a lot of bridge barriers and even a cache or few. And there was blisters, sliding down icy grassy hills on our bums (what fun!) and rather a lot of walking. Many thanks to all the cache owners that made this such an amazing trip.

We passed here today and the cones are still out as damaged has been done to both sides of the bridge. It still remains to be seen weather or not they will repair the existing bridge or use this opportunity to expanding it to a two lane bridge instead. We will wait abit longer before replacing.
On our way to ChCh we had to stop here as there was a lollypop man controlling the flow of traffic while some fluro vest people walked around measuring the road and things. We suspect that maybe they are in the early stage of making this one land bridge into two lanes so on the way home we stopped and picked up the cache just encase. We will assess this the next time we pass and see if anything has started yet and put the cache back if not.
Out and about over the Easter weekend grabbing some caches as I head to Christchurch via the west coast. Thank you for placing all these wonderful caches out for me to find. Had fun looking in, under , around and behind to find them. Apologies for the cut and paste logs. Your caches made the trip a lot more interesting with some adventure thrown in. TFTC
Auf dem Weg von Christchurch zum ArthurPass kamen wir an dieser Dose vorbei, die schnell entdeckt wurde.

Beautiful day, family trip to Castle Hill, need done more for 770, still aiming for 800 before the end of the year, might have to hit Thompson’s Track! Tftc
After our swim with dolphins we decided to drive from the East-Coast to the west-coast via the Arthurs pass.
The weather was fantastic, the views stunning and best of all: caches as far as the eyes could see. So whenever I stopped to take a picture my wife looked for a cache at that position and in most cases she found one. We also looked for some caches without taking pictures.
All in all they were so many we didn't recognize all the places in the evening. So forgive the log which is the same for them.
But I would like to thank everyone who placed and maintained those caches.we had a really good time!

This series was the main reason for our trip today and we have now found them all except one where there were too many people in the adjacent carpark to risk looking for it.
Thanks to this and other finds I now need only one more find to get hold of that elusive World Turtle.
Thank you gracie7 + Mum

We are on a mission today trying to get the numbers for the Hidden Creatures Challenge. We were commited to some caches around Cass but also to our habit of caching back. Meaning travel as far as the furthest away cache planned for the day then find the caches on the way home. It meant a round trip of about 400km and meeting our objective in the process Overall the weather was nice to us although thick fog in the morning slowed us down for a while. We finished the BtG series that we started in May 2013 but for one that had to many prying eyes from parked vehicles. The weather conditions were from thick fog, freezing rain to bright sunshine, ink black night sky and in temperatures from below zero to rather pleasant. We awarded a fav for the series to the Master Cache. Thank you gracie7 + Mum
On our trip from Arthur Pass to Cristchurch we had a lot of stops and discoverd caches like this. TFTC!
We had lost are signal but we crossed a bridge and wondered if there was a cache in it as part of the series and low and behold there was!
Camped up here for a couple of days on our trip from Australia, nice fishing spot!
We were heading to Christchurch so thought we would go this way. We were really impressed with the amount of safe parking at these caches through here. As we were in a campervan we only stop where we feel safe and where we feel other road users won't get upset with us. Thanks for the BtG series
Nice quick find on my way from Christchurch to Moana. Traffic is not too made to make a few stops. TFTC
Quick find on way home from a break visiting friends in Greymouth where I used to live.
Today's mission was a drive from Christchurch to Greymouth on my way home to Nelson. Trying to find 'a few' caches along the way. It's been ages since I travelled this route so there were actually heaps of caches to find and at the end of the day my tally was 81. Biggest cache day for me for a while. One of my objectives for the day was to find as many BtG caches as I could. I managed to find quite a few. A few DNFs. A few DNAs due to muggles or distraction. BtG counter = 5. TFTC, Biggles.

This had been a day in the planning, and a day to look forward to for quite a while!! I took the day off motherhood, left the baby girl with daddy, and headed out to go find some caches - heaps & heaps of caches! - with my mum. Trying to get closer to knocking out as many of those within 80km of home as possible. Not too bad, as I think we found 51 in the end! Well, 51 for me, and a few less for mum. Plus the weather mostly held out!
TFTC!!

Heading back to Christchurch and grabbing a few of these handy caches on the way past. Was well dark and little traffic so was a quick find - SL and left as found.
Thanks for the placement of this series gracie7 + Mum.
