Archiving this one to enable a new replacement cache. Thanks to everyone who took to find this one. It's been muggled twice in close succession so I've changed the container to see if it will last a bit longer. Go find it!
Hi teamCanary and all,
after two disappearances I've decided this needsa new hiding approach.
I've created a new container and hope to drop it off soon.
This will be a v2 of the cache so if you've already found it you can have another crack. It's worth it for the view!
So bear with me.
Thanks,
Nick

This is a remarkably busy place, even at night. I reached GZ after dark and awaiting my time. TFTC.
Today is our last day together before C. is flying back to the Netherlands after a visit of nearly 2 weeks.
It was lovely weather so we left the apartment to search some geocaches.
We took the train from Wynyard to Oatley and wanted to walk to Come and take the train back from there.
This was the 4th cache we visited.
We thought it was clear where we had to search when we walked across the bridge.
But at GZ we saw a better hiding places.
We had to wait for a passing bike and a pedestrian before we could start searching for the cache.
We found it in the first spot we looked.
Thanks for the cache.

7th of 8 finds - Illawong, Como West & Como
After finding "Grounds For Pleasure", I continued wandering around to here. i used the photo from recent logs to work out where I needed to look, but had to wait as i saw a muggle headed in my direction. When the coast was clear, I got into position and felt around for a while. I finally got the little bugger. I checked the time; I should at least be able to fit in "The Genies Lamp", so I headed over there. TFTC.

Due to previous logs I assumed this one was muggled, and I quickly spotted the original container in the exact spot where the photo was taken on the most recent log. However, I thought this could be my first "cache rescue mission." Climbing the fence I easily recovered the container, signed the log, and returned it. Then I figured there was an even newer cache floating around, and sure enough I found it easily, signing that log as well. As a result of my skills and resourcefulness there are now two containers. I enjoyed the view from the bridge and a couple walking by immediately knew I was geocaching. TFTC and the views.
Out to adventure for my last day in Sydney, my friend has always wanted to explore this place, so what's better than going for a cache!!! :3 left a tb to commemorate the new cache
Dropped past yesterday with a new container and log. Not sure how the old one got dropped away from the original spot. Please try to replace the cache where you left in.
I've dropped in a Scouting souvenir to reward the FTFA (First to Find Again).
Have fun, folks!

Back online with a new container, log and souvenir for the first finder. Don't forget your pencil!
Hi folks,
I tried to retrieve this the other day but even with a grabber couldn't reach it. It's dropped quite far from the original hiding spot.
I hope to recreate it soon as I can. I know this is a popular one.
Cheers,
Nick

Out this afternoon with the GeoBro to try to find a few caches around Oatley to boost our totals but this one eluded us!
Found it. Log was very wet and pen struggled to leave a mark. So photo as proof.

This is such a pretty area! Looking forward to a little break at the Como Hotel after this. TFTC
On the way here we met a man and his beautiful dog in training, Samson. Don't drop it!
TFTC - such a beautiful spot & a great location for a cache.
I had to Periscope this location.

A sunny Saturday morning is not the best time to pick when looking for this one! Muggles on foot and bike everywhere but with geobike as a cover for stopping at GZ, I somehow managed to grab it, sign and replace without too much suspicion. A good hide in a good place. I didn't see any warring tribes today! A phone in hand is always a good cover too. TFTC. #178.

Quick find after a Thai lunch. We tried to not look suspicious loitering on the bridge.
Tried during the day. I swear an old bloke thought I was trying to blow up the bridge, so I came back at night and found it really quickly. Did signing duties and was on my way. Nice hide mate!
Came on a weekday but forgot it was the dreaded school holidays.Dodged some muggles and made a sneaky find. TFTC
This was my third attempt at this cache. Though this time I had a longer walk from the Northern end of the bridge.
I was in luck when I reached gz as all the other muggles about had passed the area and were walking away, so I could do my thing without then seeing.
Why? Oh why didn't I look there the other times?! For some reason I completely ignored that side. It was a very easy find THIS TIME!
Thanks for the cache.

Find #1580 - 4 for today. Found on 1/03/2015 11:17 am
Thought I might check this out and come back after dark to log the cache. But when I reached GZ and with no muggles around it was actually a quick find unlike the previous cache which took several attempts to locate. Thanks. TNSLLN

The bridge was fairly busy, so it was a matter of taking photos until both sides were free of walkers. The cache was picked up, logged and returned well before anyone else was close enough to see anything of interest. Thanks for a good hide in a great location, well worth visiting today.
Up from Canberra visiting family in the good 'ol Shire. Happy Australia Day!
Swung by this one on a morning mini mission around Como to nab a few caches with the geobro, goldfinger777
Lots of runners and walkers out and about today. Waited for a break in muggle traffic to make the nab on the cache using the geobro and my backpack as cover . Signed log, replaced and we were off for more Great view of the place from the bridge!
Thanks for the hide, nicksmyname

Ever since I took the train to Kiama with the family I have been fascinated with this place. 'Down South' is one of the only parts of Sydney that I had never realy gone to until today. On this ocasion we were not on the train, but on the other bridge out caching. Made a fairly quick find as there were not muggles when we aproached GZ. TFTC!!!
A nice quick find on a beautiful night, waited for one group of muggles to pass then pounced, making the find in under 20 seconds. TFTC, M!

Walked over to Como from Oatley and didn't find it on our way over. But on the way back we stretched a little further in the place we had originally thought it would be and there it was. Tough muggle territory here. Nice view from GZ. SL TFTC Cheers... Gaztek
muggles everywhere! eventually located but like the others today ....no pen. great cache loved the challenge.
Reperio at 2300.
After finishing work for the day in Newcastle, I headed down to Sydney tonight for a day of caching the next day. Feeling still wide awake, I decided to go for a walk and check out this one while it was nice a quiet. Once at GZ, there were two very likely looking spots...and found the cache in the second of those.

Quick post dinner night cache with the muppets - started to rain on the drive there, got worse just after we replaced the cache. All adds to the fun!
Found it with German friends at the Sutherland geocaching meeting.
GeoDirk took the scouts badge to the next location.

A very pleasant walk across the bridge after attending the Sutherland Geocachers event and I soon arrived at GZ. The cache was soon discovered and removed quickly while there was a gap in the passing parade of muggles. With log signed, I waited for yet another gap and soon placed the cache back into position. Thanks for the hide nicksmyname.

Taking part in the nearby event, we went for a few nearby caches. This one was soon found, you just had to ignore all passing muggles when you do your 'weird thing'.
together with Badi7 after attending the nearby event. Nice walk to GZ, will come back by bike to explore the area a little bit more. TFTC
Easy peasy when you've got the bridge to yourself!

Walking Oatley-Como on beautiful Mother's Day morning. Found it on our way back between two waves of muggles. TFTC
Yebo, today my train brought me to oatly where I passed several times (and cached) this huge pipe.
Anyway, the walk brings me over to another part of sydney:como, well ok and doing that I had this cache quickly signed... Tftc

The name really helped with finding the cache. After the find the voucher and I headed over to the Como Hotel for some liquid refreshment. TFTC
On a rainy sunday afternoon quickly did this cache. It is quite liberating being in the rain on a summer day.. LOL
Plenty of people out and about this morning, but why not, a beautiful spot.
As I walked along the bridge I struggled to work out where the cache might be hidden but nearing GZ I could see where it would be. I couldn't feel or see so a quick camera shot confirmed the location and soon had it in hand. Only last Friday I was down under the bridge paddling my kayak for some other nearby caches! TFTC!

Was back in the area for Grounds For Pleasure, so thought I's see if I could turn this DNF into a smilie.
The major problem was the constant stream of muggles, walking, jogging & cycling. It was a good 10 minutes before I had a break that I could search in. I saw a few walk/jog over and then back!
And this time, searched the logical places first and had CIH. Wandered off the bridge to complete signing duties, then had the fun of muggle avoidance to replace - ended up feigning shoe problems and used my backpack to obscure the replace from the muggles just walking onto the bridge. ANd they waked past GZ without a second look!
I notice there's another cache nearby on this track... Not trying that. One time waiting ages is enough for one day.
Interestingly, the item that confused me in the dark was still there, but a good 5 metres from GZ.

Found with Walk there and a muggle friend. This one took us a little longer than it should have. Not too many muggles about thankfully! TFTC
Found with sat down and geofriend. Luckily low on muggles at the right time for us.
Beautiful still mourning with canoeists up early to share the cache with. They paddled underneath while I picked up a smiley.
NO MUGGLES.....
This made it a quick and easy find. Would be a tricky one when busy. TFTC

A beautiful Sunday morning for a stroll with the geopups across the old bridge. Very busy with strollers & riders of all persasions. Finally got to it with a break in the traffic. Success. TFTC nicksmyname
Geodog and I checked on this last night. All good. Cache was exactly where it was supposed to be.
I've removed the item that was causing confusion. Might save me another late night trip.
Ready for finding again now.

Arrived at The bridge at 11pm. No muggles in sight!
A quick search of GZ revealed no cache, but if this one is installed the same way as Woronora Bridge methinks it is gone.
CO needs to check. Hopefully I'm wrong. I took a photo of what I did find...

Hi Gatherer Hade,
Sorry you didn't find CC. Thanks for giving it a try and letting me know.
I think you may have been fooled by the presence of a safety line I put there originally but that proved impractical after only a few finds. It's no longer attached but the cache is pretty secure without it (definetly nothing like Woronora Bridge!!).
So these days it's a bit of a tripwire for the doubtful cacher.
I'll try and take the Geodog for another late night walk over in the next few days to check, but pretty sure it's still going to be there. I might remove the line while I am there to save more journeys. The dog likes the exercise, but it is a bit spooky up there. They seem to be replacing the old solar panels with new ones and the lights on the bridge have been off for a while.
Cheers,
Nicksmyname

Well finally had the bridge to myself and geowife. Thanks Nick for checking it was still there . In the most obvious location and didn't need to be as hard to find as I made it. May have replaced it under a bit further than needed but a good reach should retrieve cache. Took pathtag. Thanks Nicksmyname for the cache.
Rumours of Checkpoint Como's demise are greatly exaggerated as they say.
I had a report that this was missing so I headed out with the Geodog for a late night stroll. We had a bright moon, it was warm and the lights of the marina made the river look wonderful. Hard to believe this was such a dangerous place when the tribes of the Shark and Dragon were warring...
No muggles on the bridge at 10pm, which is when I originally placed the cache too. The light on the bridge does seem to have gone so BYO torch if the dark makes you nervous.
I checked in on the cache and it was just where it belongs and as a previous finder said, quite safely in place.
While I was there I added a Scouts Pathtag (the kayaking one of course) and a small guardian to keep an eye on things inside the cache.

Not all that keen on doing this one on a nearly moonless night, although easy pickings, just hoped that any bikes would have lights, because the bridge didn't - very dark indeed!

Great night time cache with geokid skateboarding for cover just in case we needed it. The bridge was deserted and I came up with the goods first for a change. TFTC nicksmyname
Another DNF - I obviously wasn't on the right wave length today as I couldn't find look out for the bikes either. We had the bridge to ourselves for a good ten minutes block but just couldn't figure it out today. Ill be back to try again!
TFTC just wanted to make a smiley face on my map as found this cache ages ago and didn't write my name on the log.
I was in the area for a coffee with CATONY and thought I would check out this fairly recent cache. Co-ordinates are good and a pretty straightforward find. A beautiful week day with minimum muggles about. SL.

Quick find amongst the muggle traffic. Not sure if I broke the attachment line or if was already broken, but the magnets are easily keeping this one in place. TFTC and regards from San Carlos, California!!
TFTC nicksmyname,
I made the visit with nana nel who can't log her attendance because there is no value in having multiple Premimum memberships in the one family. She signed the log anyway and like several other ones she has signed, hopes the CO's will give her a chance one day to log a visit.
She went to the wrong side because that was where the compass took her and I went where I saw a reflection on something on our way across. We couldn't try on our way across because of the large number of mugglers but on our way back after not trying to trip up a few bike riders, there was no one about and while the coast was clear the duties were completed.
Good to see these caches in this area. Having walked the dog so much in the past, I know some goog spots for caches to be located, I just need to stop travelling and spend some time at home so that I can place them.
Visited a group of trackables.

A few weeks ago tried for the FTF without success, returned today hoping that we`d get a break between muggles, thankfully that was the case & this time made an easy find, soon had the log signed & popped back in place. We enjoyed our walk over the bridge & had a very pleasant morning out, thanks for bringing us here.
