OK. Well we went for a drive early this morning to check on this cache, and yes it has been muggled or washed away, so we have replaced the container with a brand new one. With a new log-book, pen, pencil and a heap of new swaps for the kids. Its in place now and ready to be found again, all nice and new. Cheers. The CO.
Looks like this container might have been muggled. We will go out and check on it asap and if it has been muggled we will replace it with a brand new container and log-book and swaps. We will let you know what has happened to the original cache soon. Thanks & Cheers. The CO.
We had a very solid look around here and couldnt find a cache. We can see the water level has been high and maybe it has been washed away in one of the more recent flood events. Thanks for bringing us to the this historically significant and lovely location. Its a worthy location for a visit anyway.
Husband found the cache by chance so we redownloaded the app to log. Clever, simple cache hidden in plain sight.
This is one of those places we never would have discovered without this cache. An interesting historical monument in a peaceful location. TFTC!
There was alot of potential hiding spots. I almost called it. Worth it in the end, thanks.

Found during our COVID 2020 Murray River trip.
Awesome bit of local history. It's caches like this that are why I love caching. Drove past sign to Australia's first rice farm twice on way to Swan Hill. Today we turned left. Glad we did. This chap would have had an extraordinarily difficult life here. Amazing history. Interesting departure to Japan just after start of WWII. Will research story a little more.
While Melbourne was in a state of turmoil rural Victoria was still okay, and with 4 weeks leave, and all the borders closed we decided the only warmish place in Vic was going to be as north as we could get. After a decade or so travelling north and west we started on the trips we'd left til later - the Murray River. Starting from East Gippsland we got to Wemen out of Robinvale before they announced Victoria was going back into Stage 3. Now we're working our way back home and avoiding Melbourne. Found this along the way. TFTC. DJ

Suscoe was enjoying our last day in Swan Hill and we decided to do a lap out through Nyah and back down to Swan Hill via NSW.
It was a stunning day with warm temperatures and sunny skies.
We were enjoying the changing nature of the countryside as we went from orchards to grazing to salt pans to the river forests and everything in between.
Thanks to Sparra0907 for this hide, nice to be able to read the info and think about this time in our history.
All good at GZ today.

A made the detour down this road to come to the new multi which I had lots of issues with, a small search and this was quickly found.
A huge weekend away, with over 2000km being driven over 3 days from Adelaide to Mansfield via swan hill and Echuca, then return via Bendigo and St Arnaud. The target was to collect 11 new local government areas and mostly stop and do some multis.
But the main goal was tour of Mansfield, a cycling tour consisting of 3 stages over 2 days (Saturday and Sunday).
Stage 1: 14km Individual time time trail.
Stage 2: 76km road race finishing up old Tolmie
Stage 3: 46km road race finishing up the top of mt bulla.
Wednesday I left Adelaide for Victoria via pinnaroo, I decided I would stop when I had enough of driving. I camped in the back of a cemetery yes a cemetery, nice and peaceful in Nyah. Thursday I made my way from Nyan to Mansfield via Swan Hill, Echuca and Shepparton with 2 trips over the boarder. A lot of DNFs on caches as some were barrow red off due to road works and others I must if stuffed up. I ended up camping the night in Mansfield. Friday I held my event in Mansfield with a big show of 1 (just myself)!!! And went for a drive up mt bulla. Saturday was mainly racing and Sunday after the race I made my way back to Adelaide via Victorias oldest cache and some new roads through the middle of victoria that I had never been on before.. With arrival on Monday at 1am back home. A big trip out and a great weekend away with a little under 100 finds.
Thanks for the cache placements by all the cache owners.

Was a little worried about snakes hunting this area on a hot day but we were careful and saw no visitors. Cache was easily spotted when viewed from the correct angle, and we used a stick to lever it out in case anyone was sharing the space! We replenished the swaps without taking any today and signed the log. Thank you for the cache
This area is so rich with history we have enjoyed our ventures here. A quick find today. TFTC
Found on my last day in the Swan Hill area being time to move on. Took a little while to find this cache. TFTC.

Our final day around the Western Riverina & Mallee with interesting history and country towns. Looking at the number of green boxes and blue question marks still showing up on our geo-map, we will be back, hopefully, sooner rather than later.
What a fascinating story - another opportunity to learn some history thru' caching.
Thanks 'Sparra0907' for placing caches for everyone's enjoyment.

Today we left Swan Hill and headed for Renmark, caching along the way. There were quite a few potential hiding spots within the limit of accuracy of our GPS units. So, we had to hunt around for a while before the cache was located in a logical hide. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Sparra0907 for the cache.
"In the days the Murray flooded....." a shame we use so much now days that it doesn't.

In Nyah for a couple of days getting a few caches today. Heading for Swan Hill. TFTC
We are returning from the Red Centre Experience Event in Alice Springs and are staying in Swan Hill for a few days. Today we decided to do a loop to Tooleybuc and back finding caches along the country roads. It was a pleasant drive and the weather was perfect. Thanks Sparra0907 for placing caches for us to find. An interesting spot. Thanks for pointing it out to us but GZ felt like we were on private property. Left pathtag. TFTC
This cache has been muggled, I think some time ago. So I have replaced it today with a brand new container. It's all nice and dry and all set to go. Thanks & Cheers. CO.
Too watery and muddy. Interesting about the first rice area but no signs of the farm left

A nice diversion from the white lines while travelling in [OVT](https://coord.info/TB70Q77) from Swan Hill to Robinvale.
Thanks

Spent ages looking for this one and in the end Mr Beetle came over to help [after he had finished reading the info board]. As happens so often it was in the first place he looked, but in my defence the GPS had me quite a few metres from there. Should have known it wouldn't have been where our GPS said and not wasted so much time there. Unless it was a waterproof container that is! Thanks, and Mr Beetle's final words to me on this one were, "If you had a GRAIN of BRAIN you'd have found this one straight away." Ha Ha.
We found it after a short walk.
Interesting area, thanks for bringing us here.
Interesting area, thanks for bringing us here.
Went & checked this cache out tonight and it's been muggled alright. Have replaced it straight away with a new one...so it's ready & waiting to be found. Sorry we hadn't replaced this one sooner. Cheers, Sparra0907.
Another DNF for us. We had a really good look but failed! Interesting story to read here. Thanks for bringing us here anyway.
Tftc, found it, good opportunity for my exchange students to discover the first rice farm in Australia!
Places and history like this are the reason we love geocaching, especially in a new district to us. Thanks for the hide and bringing us here.
Found on trip back from Hattah NP. I have been meaning to tick this one off my list for awhile now so TFTC
After say goodbye to the Honeysuckers who are managing Wakiti resort near Echuca we started our road trip to SA. We enjoyed being able to stop off to get this cache. Nice one. We found friendly people and a great overnight rest stop in Leitchville and enjoyed the caches there especially the multi. We only had our lunch break there and proceeded on to find another great place to park overnight with the caravan at the Nyah football oval (follow the signs to the dump spot and the coords to the cache Pump House). Thanks to Sparra0907 for placing this cache and giving us the incentive to visit the area.
Time for a geo-road trip, with caching mate ahomburg. In a bid to avoid the madness and hussle & bustle of Chrissie, we had 3 days up our sleeves, to do all things .... GPS games related
Yet another random, spur of the moment stop. However yet again, the history was well worth the stop. Nice little cache and highly recommend checking out the local rice growing history of the area. It was all news to me.
Many thanks to Sparra0907 for placing this cache. TNLN

Find #4318
Well, it was summer holiday time and time for a road trip. Both my Housemate Obi-Cal and I had no commitments for the next three days, so it was decided a bit of a drive was in order. I was keen to find some caches in certain locations for both Victoria Country Road Atlas Challenge (GCY98X) and also the newly published Victorian LGA Polygon Challenge (GC5DFFR) and Obi-Cal wanted to gain some more points in another location based game he is passionate about.
On our way up towards Ouyen now via Swan Hill, stopping at a few random caches along the way. Another interesting stop on the way with history to it. cache was found without a problem by Cal.
Thanks to Sparra0907 for placing this cache. TNLN

Took the wrong road and ended up driving down a track past a few farm paddocks and eventually found a gate and the right road not far from the cache. GPS was about 8mtrs out so we searched for awhile and eventually found it Thanks for the adventure today. TFTC
Someone followed me to the monument and then drove away - must have thought I was going to go off-road!
A quick find exactly where I would have hidden a cache.
Found on my 2nd day of the 1st Anniversary trip to Adelaide.
Thanks for the cache!

Just for a change we are going ahunting on a Thursday even though Tuesday's are our best day according to statistics. So today's mission is to grab a few around this area to fill in a few gaps.

3/8/14: Found it after a nice Sunday bike ride in the forest with the the family. Took a bracelet and left a Yowie toy.
An interesting history lesson. Found with hubby on our weekend away together. Thanks.
An interesting history. Rice farming??? No wonder the State down river ran out of water.
Staying with relos in Swan Hills so able to spend a wet day around the area, grabbing the caches. This was our first and an interesting piece of history. Found cache easily enough. TFTC Sparra0907.
AKA "rice a riso" was my first thought when I turned up at GZ
My first surprise is that the brand name still exists !!
I haven't noticed it on supermercado shelves recently !! [:o)]
I enjoyed the history presented here
Reading between the lines in the paddy field it is amazing how governments can turn a blind eye if something seems a bit more important to the county than where you came from [:o]
I wandered off into the scenery to find the cache
A rice easy find [^]
Now only one question remains ?
Is there a connection with this site and the "Sunlong" brand name ?
After all Japan is the land of the rising sun
Hmm food for thought !!

Flies and mozzies were relentless here today. Have seen the sign on the highway many times so thanks for leading me further in. Almost fascinating back story.
A fascinating story about the Japanese rice pioneer was read and then the hunt for the cache was on. Had to force our way thru the multitudes of flies in order to find this one. A nice easy one after a couple of circuits of the logs. Another good one Sparrow0907, thanks!!
2880. Found by baby&Mrs gopher at 1400 on our Ouyen to Swan Hill leg of the homeward bound trip over the east/north/central Australia trip. The water level is not far below this hide we had to give the cache not far from here a miss as the track was closed because of the rising flood water.SL Tnx Spaara0907
We were camped at Nyah & went to look for a few caches ,we found this one but others the roads were too wet to drive on.
Thanks Sparra0907

A very interesting plaque and cache. The coordinates were spot on. Thanks for bringing us here.
On a visit to nearby Swan Hill when with an hour and two to spare suggested we visit this locale which I have passsd on a number of occassions. The history as related on the plaque and info board is fascinating to state the least and inspirational at its very best. The cache was quick to find due to exact co-ords. Glad of the visit and of the life endeavours that took place here. Thank you to sparra for the cache and the informative cache notes. TNLN.

On a day trip from Mildura to Swan Hill and back again. A magnificent day and I took the opportunity to pick up some caches on the way, TFC Sparra0907
While en route to Boundary Bend 2 days ago, we noticed the sign on the road to Australia's first rice farm and thought we must come back to check it out which we did today. How good was it to discover there was a cache there too. TFTH.
Took me to a place a person could go past 100 times and not bother to pop in... Again surprised to be 1st up! Liked this peaceful spot with a bit of history to it. Cache in perfect condition, or at least not shot up as much as the cairn's plaque. Left a little statue of an angel sleeping in a giant teddy bear's arms. Thanks, sparra!
