Driving past I stopped to look for this cache. It was in good order and a quick find. Thank you for placing and maintaining it for our enjoyment.
We were on our way to tonights camp up at Taylors Crossing, and we stopped off here for a cache and to give the little doggo a bit of a walk around. The four of us negotiated the old bridge with different levels of confidence in the old timbers, but we got across to the other side intact. Then the searching went on for longer than it should have before we found the cache lying out on the ground in the open a long way from where it should have, so we signed our lives away in the log and rehid it according to the hint.
Interesting story. Not game to walk on the old bridge but didnt need to to find the cache. TFTH
Another interesting old bridge with a cache. Found on our way through this area.
Crossed the new bridge by car, and then the old bridge on foot. Cache was quickly found, noted it had not been found in four months.

Out on a crisp morning. Easy find. I too felt a bit uneasy walking across the bridge.

Find #3006 for me. Found at 2:18 pm with VK3GRK and a couple of muggle friends while on a short getaway in Dinner Plain. We'd driven down to Omeo to explore the area, and after doing some short walks in town, my friends were happy for me to grab some local geocaches. Once at the bridge, I'd just started to scramble down when I suddenly spotted a large brown snake just metres from me! In all of my years of geocaching, this was actually my first snake encounter. Luckily the snake was just as surprised and scared as I was as it slithered quickly away from me down the hill. I was the only one in our group who saw it as my friends were wondering why I was suddenly doing some kind of crazy dance on my bum as I sat on the slope struggling to get up quick enough. Anyway, with the snake gone, I resumed my descent where I was able to make a quick find. Thanks for highlighting this historic bridge BushwalkingBandit, and thanks for the cache!
After a pub meal, we went for a short drive to see the Jubilee Bridge. SL at 7.31pm Left: gold eagle pathtag. #9513 TFTC BushwalkingBandit near Omeo
Found in the evening after a pub meal, heading towards Mitta Mitta on our drive from Buchan to halls gap. A bit overgrown but a fairly simple find once you're in the right spot. Tftc
Found It!
An interesting bit of history. I walked over the old bridge and then found the cache!

Well I was now supposed to be on my 6 week adventure up to Outback Queensland but with my knee failing me I just had to turn back around and head home.
So after 3 weeks of rest at home I was getting cabin fever so for the last week I just had to get out so Western Victoria beckoned so I could grab a few LGA’s and UBD Country VIC maps which would not involve a lot of walking.
So after finishing of Western Victoria I’m now heading to North Eastern Victoria to do the same.
This will be a 4 day whirl wind tour of a lot of Victoria.
Myrtleford’s LGA and UBD map and Corryong’s UBD map are done and dusted so now it’s to head South down the Omeo Hwy from Tallangatta.
A beautiful drive down the Omeo Hwy but the Geocruiser is a tank on this road not fun at all.
Came across some snow across the top of the mountains and the dash dropped to 1 degree outside.
The river is also in full flow after all of the rain we have had.
The old bridge is still standing even with a few wobbly planks as you walk across it to get to this one.
Thanks BushwalkingBandit TFTC.

Came for a walk here from a km or 2 up the road. An easy find (with the hint) and then we all needed a cool off in the Livingston. A water fight ensued, and we all walked back refreshed. Thanks for the cache, and the local history.
With a break coming up in Omeo, I knew this was here and wanted to see if I could get a smiley so I led the way. Once at GZ, I spotted the stash lying on the ground at 11:20 and after signing the log, I placed it a little higher but still matching the hint.
By now of course, the boys had passed me but not by too much.
TNLNSL. Thanks BushwalkingBandit.

YAY I found Jubilee Bridge while out on a drive around our High Country. This old bridge is gorgeous but has certainly seen better days. It took a little monkey business to cross the bridge from where I'd parked and a little more be able to grab the cache and sign in a spare space. Thanks BushwalkingBandit for setting up this cache and for the history lesson.

Omegaman1971 told Me he was heading down to Omeo for a couple of days for work, I had nothing better to do that stare at four walls so I took a road trip, good job I can sleep in the back of My xtrail. This is one of the caches found. got to say this was pretty disgusting and stunk.
Thanks for the cache.

On a day trip from Omeo today to investigate the local surrounds and grab a few geocaches.
The Mitta Mitta was high and flowing way too fast today to attempt a crossing so it was down to hoof power to get us arount the three local caches.
One last cache for the day on our return to camp, desturbed two young officers from the highway patrol sitting having a late lunch at the wayside stop in the process.
I'm just annoyed they didn't stop me in the process of geocaching to ask me what I was doing. Never been stopped in the process so far after almost ten years

Another one done. Woo Hoo! I enjoyed finding this one at 1:06:42 PM.
I love the challenge of the geocache hunt - read the notes, decipher the cache requirements, and go searching for the hide. This is an amazing world-wide game of hide and seek. I love it! I also enjoy caching with my 2 boys, and meeting fellow cachers. It really is a small world when I read over cache logs and see names of my friends who have found caches around the country. Thanks go to for making the effort to place this cache and maintain it. It's a great contribution to the Geocaching community and it is very much appreciated.

Could not find, however wondering if it has fallen under the bridge as I noticed a sistema container under there...
Could not access it to check.

Nice spot for a cache, just stopping for a couple of days. You do have to watch out for those blackberries. TFTC. Ps not much coverage here to log your find
Sorry hit the wrong button yesterday. No success for us due to the pesky blackberries holding us back from our hunt!
We arrived this afternoon in Omeo from in Beechworth on a two day drive through the High Country with the MX-5 Club... having found the caches in Omeo on a previous visit with the MX-5 Club, I took a "quick drive" out to Benambra for the cache that was there. On my way back to Omeo I took a little detour to look for this cache to bring up Find #3050.
Getting to the cache was a bit of a battle that resulted a few scratches... I started off "low" and could actually see what I was after... just getting there through the dead blackberries was a challenge. After signing the log I decided that although it didn't look like it from above, the "least scratchy" route from the cache was in fact "up and over".
Thanks **BushwalkingBandit** for an interesting end to the day... and some interesting history.

Thank goodness Pa was again with me here. It was a case of blood, more blood and even more blood. It certainly deserves a much higher rating than it has, unless of course it has been moved. Pa found it after I had done a nose dive into the blackberries and passed it to me o sign. It has been replaced a little more in accordance with the current ratings but I consider them sill too low considering the presence near GZ of the blackberries.
However BushwalkingBandit they may not have been there when you placed the cache. TFTC TNLN SL possibly as SG.

Three of us spent Easter morning exploring the area. The little one enjoyed walking across the rickety bridge, and we found the cache quickly using our geosenses. It was in good condition. Thank you Bushwalking Bandit!
I followed the GPS to that lovely old bridge, ate some blackberries and searched. I chose to trust the honesty of the terrain rating and didn't leave 1.5 star terrain territory, by going below. I am surprised at the 1 star difficulty rating too. But oh well, maybe I was cache blind. A DNF!
Final day of the Gunks/Trailstevo summer expedition. Today we started in Bright before heading up around Mt Hotham then heading home after a tiring weekend. TFTC
Day 3 of 3 on our (Trailstevo & I) little adventure. Heading from Bright up Mt Hotham and around Falls Creek and eventually back home to Melbourne. Due to health reasons today we will be restricted to road side cache only. Has been a wonderful 3 days, we should just top over the 100 cache mark today for the weekend. Would like to say it has been a relaxing time but we. Ohh ache all over.
On our two month travelling trip through Austrialia, we are enjoying all the wonderful places and scenery. We will stop on the way to visit some nice caches as well. This one we could find.

I think the cache had moved out of place as it was very difficult to retrieve. We have put it in a slightly easier spot!
Found with Beaker on a week-long 4wd trip through the high country. Highlights included walking to the summit of Mt Kosciuszko, sunset from the top of Mt Pinnibar, seeing an Eastern Water Dragon in the Crooked River and having the living daylights scared out of us by a deer at Wonnangatta! Along the way we rescued a bushwalker from a 7km limp with a sprained ankle, climbed mountains, crossed rivers, saw many huts and beautiful scenery, did some excellent 4wd tracks and some great caches. Thanks
Found with FerociousFlea while on our 8 day 4WD sojourn through the the High Country. We were collecting caches that we liked the look of as we went along.

After camping in Jokers Flat for a week it was time to head home picking up some caches along the way to break the journey. This was the first for the day. Once at GZ Mr Pooky definitely went the long way to retrieve the cache and in the process got scratched by the Brambles. After the retrieval Mrs Pooky had a lightbulb moment and Mr Pooky was able to replace the cache from above. TFTC and brining us to this historical bridge. TNLN
The cache took longer than it should have to find. It had fallen from its location to under the bridge.
We replaced it back to its original location.

Stopped to collect this cache and to walk across the well constructed bridge. Lots of holes in the bridge. Glad I was walking and not riding my bike here.
Soon spotted the cache. Tag along did the honours and when returning it dropped it!!! Guess who had to tackle those blackberry bushes to retrieve it.
All good only a few scratches and later lots of itching. Happy to have this one changed into a smiling face.

Fortunately we didn't need to read the detail of the description, informative though it was, to find the cache because it would have been a bit tedious reading this from out teensy Dakota 20. I guess the history information had been cut and pasted from a reference document since it still contained the original reference citations ([9], [10] . . etc!)
So Jubilee Bridge is now superceded by Livingstone Bridge with the obligatory brass plaque. Don't politicians just love getting their names on brass plaques on things built by others?

A nice easy find here, so thanks for the placement.

Up this way to do some fishing for the next month. Taking in the Goulburn, Kiewa, Mitta and Omeo Valleys. Focus is mainly on fishing, but any cache is likely to be nabbed along the way.
We are unable to log details when on the move so have used "Log Later" as a filler till we return.
Thanks for your patience and the cache. BushwalkingBandit
Nice easy find after moving from Mitta valley to Omeo Valley.
Lots of history behind this easily missed, grand old bridge.

This cache had to be retrieved by geo hubby due to its hiding place being difficult for geo wife to acccess. The container was once again full of water which we drained out. It seem to have been placed where water runs through quite often, but there did not seem to be anywhere else it could be placed, so it was replaced where found. Thank you to BushwalkingBandit for this cache.
Small detour on way to Omeo to pick up this historical cache. We did have a muggle trout fisherman but he appeared more interested in the fish than us. Cache was three quarters full of water so we dried it out as best we could and trashed any tokens that were ruined. Fortunately the log was still dry in its container. TFTC.
Finally stopped to look for the cache after travelling past many times, this is one of many interesting bridges in the area. Thanks for the info about this one. TFTC
#1992 Cache is still in situ however full of water. Thankfully the logbook was nice and dry within the zip lock bag. Enjoyed reading the very interesting write up of the history of the bridge, nicely researched. After drying out the cache, it was back onto the road to do the first job for work for the day. TFTC BushwalkingBandit.
I think the cach has been removed i see work done on the bridge in the last couple of days nice spot.
