Last time I travelled this way it was mid COVID & we couldnt get into NSW. Worth the detour. Cheers DJ

On an west to east and back roadtrip... Today brought us from Swan Hill to Red Cliffs, along the NSW side of the river. Noted the sign just before this feature, so pulled up to take a look. Looks like an OK signal to me. The geo-guidebook filled in the blanks to tell us what it was all about, and luckily the mornings downpour had stopped enough for me to do a cache and dash. Pulled the container from it's hide, but no log inside, so added a scrap of paper for now. Thanks for the find and interesting info Sparra0907

22-Mar-23
Easy find, but couldnt sign as the cache was open and i couldnt see the logbook... I've taken a photo for proof. CO def needs a check, a new box and logbook (most likely) is needed. Giving it a fav as it needs many more, what a cool sight!! Ive picked up the TB here to move on. Tftc

This is the first time we have come across a "ring tree"- most interesting. Accurate coordinates and a logical hide location led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Sparra0907 for the cache and an interesting location.

I’ve been fascinated by this old tree for many years, way before I knew geocaching. Today was an opportunity to introduce my partner, The _Evil_Muggle, and friends, Bunadoorian and Grub62. They also were awed and amazed with it. To add to its attraction today, there’s a cache there! We admired and photographed the tree, then went to search for the cache. It was easily found because the previous geocacher had left two travel bugs on the ground close to where the cache was found. They couldn’t fit in the container, so I took them with me. Thanks for bringing me back here.

07-Mar-20
The last cache for Bunadoorian and I, we came here with Surefoot24 and The Evil Muggle. We were so keen to see this tree as we had just been told all about them. We were not disappointed. It is a magnificent sight. A favourite point from me for bringing us here. TFTC Sparra0907.

Near a spectacular old dead tree Surefoot24, Grub62 and I found the cache. Surefoot24 grabbed 2 trackables that were lying on the ground nearby. Thanks for bringing us here and TFTC.

Suscoe was out today enjoying another gloriously sunny Swan Hill day.
It had been near to zero overnight but today made up for that with beautiful sunshine, no wind to worry us and blue skies from one horizon to the other.
We headed to the north of Swan Hill today taking in Nyah and Tooleybuc and many places in between.

Thanks to Sparra0907 for this hide, an interesting location and we have certainly not seen one of these before.

TFTC. We are camped at Tooleybuc Sports Club for a few nights. Today after a night of Thunder and rain, we used geocaching to do a bit of exploring around the area. Great day 25 finds and 2 DNFs. The overcast weather and the GPS on the iPhone made life a bit difficult as it took a lot longer to settle than usual. We got there in the end.
Heading back to Tooleybuc via the “back road” caching as we go.

Our final day around the Western Riverina & Mallee with interesting history and country towns. Looking at the number of green boxes and blue question marks still showing up on our geo-map, we will be back, hopefully, sooner rather than later.
Interesting historical background and a nice quick find to start the day.

Thanks 'Sparra0907' for placing caches for everyone's enjoyment.

With Fitzy_1965 we headed off towards the Murray River near Swan hill. Lots of driving with great river banks to be explored on four rivers along the way. Day 3. After a cockatoo filled night at Chah Singh Reserve we headed further towards Swan Hill, via the Wakool River and Toolybuc. We after a dash to the outskirts of Swan Hill we ended up camping near Nyah on the Murray River, no cockatoos this time. After a bit of a break out of the sun we started along the river. The series was attempted in reverse with varying degrees of luck.

Thanks.

15,160. Found during a long weekend run down through the Lockhart, Jerilderie, Deniliquin, Moulamien, Tooleybuc and Nyah regions with Albida33.

After camping down by the river near the cache Chah Singh last night, we packed up and continued along our planned caching trail. This was the next find for the day. A pretty quick find at GZ after scratching around a bit. Signed the log, returned the cache, and headed off to the next one.

Thanks to all the COs for putting out their caches !

We are returning from the Red Centre Experience Event in Alice Springs and are staying in Swan Hill for a few days. Today we decided to do a loop to Tooleybuc and back finding caches along the country roads. It was a pleasant drive and the weather was perfect. Thanks Sparra0907 for placing caches for us to find. An interesting story of the Ringtree. Cache was jammed in its hidey hole but we managed to dig it out and sign the log. TFTC

5706 Found by baby&Mrs gopher at 1500. Time for a drive to find a few more caches. This sight was mentioned to nus by a local in the area and it was said ton go and have look. We have seen trees like this in several parts in Australia and now we have some idea of why. The container was difficult to find with then long grass that has grown around gz. SL Tnx Sparra0907

This cache was one of several caches visited on my way from Berri, South Australia to Bendigo, Victoria, with caching friends. We had a wonderful trip. I had personally DNF'd this cache a couple of times, so it was great to be the person who found it this time. TFTC

Saturday and it's time to head for Bendigo with the geo family of Tounga, Moneydork and sushilord.
A long day of driving with stops for geocaches along the way Cool
All up, 20 caches found Smile for me today and 6 DNFs Sad
I think we were all just a bit tired by the end of the day and had somewhere lost our caching mojo [|)] Red Face
We did get 1 FTF though, to brighten our journey Cool

We're off on another family geocaching holiday! The geofamily: Geoparents = moneydork and tounga, geosis = locus cache and myself. Another raid into Mexico and that other state to the north of Mexico. The car was loaded and we were set off on the long road east. Who knows what adventure we would be in for this trip. Today Geodad had us all over the place but the underlying theme of fun and maniacal murders remained with the family all day long.

After leaving Sleep Well it became apparent geodad had a reason for bringing us this way, a nemesis cache was just down the road and he wanted help finding it. He got this time with help from geosis.

Thanks for the cache Sparra.

Had never been down this road until about two days ago. Whilst with a muggle friend who was visiting relatives in the area, we came across this marker.
So today, as Pinky and I were in the area again it was time for another little yellow thingy!!!
Interesting history of the "ring tree".
Its a pity that it did not survive

15-Sep-13
On the way home with Dylan 7a after a raMBLING visit to Balranald and nabbing a few caches there.

Once at GZ along what we thought was a quiet country road the local Farmer just happened to come by and was curious as to what we were up to? After pleasantries, he continued on his way probably more bemused than baffled as to two grown men looking in an old tree for a box!

The cache was quickly to hand due to excellent co-ordinates. A word of warning, the long grasses near GZ may be a haven for snakes so care may need to be exercised and especially so if placing your hands in dark places. Perhaps a few firm taps on trees and the ground may be in order beforehand to 'disturb' our slippery ones as to your and their presence.

Thank you to 'Sparra0907' for another informative caching experience.

With Dylan 7a - TNLN.
