I hope we are allowed to log this as find. We found the hiding spot and even the "log" of one of the prior cachers here. However the container seems damaged and no real log sheet could be found. It would be great, if the CO could check and replace if applicable.
Nevertheless, the hiding spot is very creative! TFTC

Over here with HKCB after other plans up the Kauaeranga Valley were dashed as the road had been washed out and access was by foot only, and both of us didn't feel like added 10km to a 20km hike. So with plan B in mind to head over to Tauranga and focus on the caches on the Mount and the new Night Caches and anything else that was nearby.
Found while gathering information for the Zig Zag the mount multi. Second attempt today on the info gathering as a miscount put us in the wrong spot, and after eventually working out what we had done wrong we were pretty keen to finish it today. Unfortunately we missed the final on the multi but it did mean I could find the last few caches on the mount.
Like others have mentioned the cache is still the but cannot get the log out. As it's been a few months with no fix, I didn't think the CO would mind me collecting as I'm not over this way very often. Thanks for the cache.

I headed on up the hill this morning
While the wild westerlies tried at times to blow me off the mountain
No rain !! [^]
Here on the exposed westerly bit of the mountain,
I was hiding from the blast as best I could
And soon found something cache like !!
Ooh !! Yuck !!
It's a puddle in there !!
I guess there was a container attached to the lid I found somewhere in there once
I satisfied meself with signing the 'camo' to satisfy the log signing claim
Hey !! I found the cache

Easy find the cache, but the lid is broken, well is full of water. Found piece of plastic bag where once was a logbook.
Need to fix this.

Pretty much destroyed. Lid is smashed, well is full of water, logbook nowhere to be seen. I hope the CO will repair as it's a great cache.

Good news - I found it. Bad news - it's pretty much destroyed. Lid is smashed, well is full of water, logbook nowhere to be seen.
Our cache is definitely needing some TLC. We will do our best to get up there within the next week or two and fix it up. apologies all!
Found the cache, but as per the logs it couldn't be signed. Have a pic for proof of find if required, but won't post it as its a spoiler image!
Kia ora , this is broken will go fix this week if I get the chance. Please bare with us.
I am visiting from Australia and after a week at New Plymouth visiting my sister then the mega event at Turangi over the weekend it is time to play tourist on the way back to Auckland for a Saturday flight. Today was a full day based at Tauranga checking out some of the local caches and sights starting with a hike up and around Mount Maunganui.
Made my way here and after waiting for a couple of muggles to move on it was a quick find. Not that there was much to find apart from the damaged lid shown in the previous photo and a floating empty zip lock bag. Still it was a nice walk, but I think it is time for this one to be archived if it won't be fixed. Thanks Waaka Warriors.

Day two of my NZ geoadventure.
Logging earth caches mainly and adding letter boxes, and other odd cache types plus the odd traditional that I came by.
Found the good hide, unfortunately badly damaged. Took a picture in case CO wants to have it
Thanks for the cache

Up in Tauranga as a spectator/parent support for the AIMS games. Did the Mount with Uncle Hugh. Great cache! As already said, needs a bit of maintenance. Thanks for the great cache.

Needs some TLC - someone apparently found a container. I just found a log in a plastic bag, but didn't see the picture until now.
Found a log book in a bag. Only now I look at the webpage I see there might have been a container somewhere as well.
Found the cache, but as previously mentioned, it has been destroyed and it is full with water...
(4697) I found the cache, but it was destroyed. The cover was broken and out, box full of water. No logbook. I can send a picture to owner.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
Found whilst on a sunrise climb of the Mount.
Found the hiding place but lots of water in the container. Nice idea though.

Tauranga was our last big place to visit in New Zealand. And what should we say, it showed us once more the beauty of this country.
Thanks for showing this place.

Found it on our walk to the top...
Another geocacher gave us a hint while searching!

It was a great walk up and a brilliant view from the top. I am glad I was able to find this cache, it took me a minute as my phone gps had me on the other side of the path. Loved the cache!! tftc
NIcely hidden, and quickly found. Fav from me. Cheers.
Damn, picked up a cold somewhere. Not as focussed on caching as I could have been. Never mind, around The Mount and to Rotorua today.
Thanks to the CO's for the hides. Cheers.

Replaced log book. Easy find, not what I expected though! I opted to go caching at the mount instead of attending the powhiri at school, as our poor pup was at the vets for the day so I thought I'd make the most of being dog-free. TFTC
Kia ora, and thank you for the cache. A nice one after watching sunrise on the Mount.
A clever cache, I like it. But careful, this is not a trap (there are mice (?) traps hidden in the bush, the cache is completely different)

What a nice place for a cache! We walked up the hill in the evening and were lucky enough to be on the top just when the sun was setting, painting the most amazing colours - what a view! Really nice cache, easy to find and no muggles around at that time of the year/day. Thank you for hiding!
Another nicely done cache on the Lovely Mount ! A fav point from us.
Nearly had us tricked but Master 11 found it & hadn't realised at first. TDC
Sorry no TB in here - one of the last 8 people must have taken & forgot to log!?

Found this a while back on a family walk up the mount, only realised I hadn't logged when browsing for possibilities for the next few days. It was a cracking day and as the family split to go their different ways to the top, Poppy and I came this way especially for this cache. She was onto it in a flash once at GZ - great hide!

Very nicely done cache! I was sitting on rock about to visit the suggested website when LCBuilder just happened to find the cache! He wasn't actually looking, he just wanted that 'object' TFTC
On my walk up the mount with my muggle friend. We searched & thought about the clue & I was ready to give up but my very persistent friend found it. Took team work to get the cache out. Awesome hide. Co-ordinates may be out a bit but I was using my phone. TFTC
A long time in the planning but this "once in a lifetime" holiday has finally come to fruition and will see us travelling around as much of New Zealand as we can manage in six weeks. This is not a caching trip, Yvonne doesn't participate but she does tolerate, so I hope to pick up a few here and there. And it's great to get away from the English Winter!
Day 34
Mount Maunganui was the main objective for today. First we walked to the top and back down again. Then, after an excellent ice cream, we did the low level circuit. Naturally I attempted all the caches I could but muggles made life difficult and to keep Yvonne happy I only searched 3 or 4 minutes before moving on. So, some success but more failure, such is life sometimes. Excellent walks though.
I'd ignored this one on the way up but coming down I saw the path I needed to take and a short search revealed the cache. Neat hide! Have a fav point.
BaSHful.

A lovely walk up the Mount and a very clever hide. Our first one in Mount Maunganui! TFTC
I came over to New Zealand to meet my son, who is staying now for more than five months on the other side of the world. Our intension is, to travel now for 4 weeks through this fantastic land and visiting a lot of fine spots on both islands.
Met in Auckland, our first trip led us to the Far North with some spectacular locations. It was a lot of driving, but we think, it was worth the result.
Now the second part of our travelling route led us to the south. Going via Hamilton with some fine locations, Hobbiton was an absolutely must of our "unexpected journey" . Went then to Tauranga with a hard upclimb to Mt. Maunganui, visited Rotorua to see lot of vulcanic activities, have had a lot of fun with Zorbing and Claybird shooting and drove then to Taupa, to doing Skydiving.
Here we go: Napier with it's beautiful Art Deco district and the great Aquarium was the next stop.
Final destination on the North Island was Wellington, were we visited some great places and met some friends from Germany.
Of course, even if it is not our main activity during this holidays, we will looking for some caches, which are laying beside our route.
So this cache was one of those, we've picked up.
Many thanks to Waaka Warriors for this fine cache and best greetings from Germany.

Great cache!! Thanks for that! And for teaching me some Maori!! May the uranga always shine
Did the hike up mt maunganui on a hot day and got awarded by this cache. Thanks for that.
We spent 4 incredibly wonderful weeks in New Zealand for vacation and
had a lot of fun to discover all the marvels of this country.
Day 12 - we climbed up Mount Maunganui and were rewarded by breathtaking views.
The rest of the day was relaxing and uneventful - drinking a cup of coffee in a nice little cafe and
chilling at the beach.
Besides we still found time for geocaching and picked up quite a few caches on our way.
This was one of them!

From 19th February to 20th March Stadibast and I visited New Zealand. Half of the time we made a trip around the North-Island. After a short stay in Auckland we went to: Bay of Islands, Cape Reinga, Rotorua and the Wai-o-Tapu-Thermal Wonderland, the great Taupo-lake… We made a Rafting Tour in the Waitomo-Glowworm-caves or hiked the Tongariro –Alpine-Crossing and, and…
In the second part of our holidays we visited the south island, hiked in the Abel-Tasman-Reserve , went to the Marlborough-Sounds, the Golden Bay, the Oparara-Arch, the Franz-Josef- and Fox-Glaciers, had a great sight on Mt. Cook and Mt. Tasman, relaxed at the Wanaka- and Hawea-Lakes,….
New Zealand is a very amazing country and with exceptional natural sites. We are very impressed of these great nature monuments and sights and we are happy that we met so much friendly and helpful people.
What a great view on the Bay of Plenty.
Greetings from Germany.

#11778. Good to be able to reunite the cache container and the logbook. TFTC.
We wanted to walk up the Mount in the cool of the morning, and took the clockwise route up, so a good half of the time we were in the shade any way. The weather was lovely with the blue sky making a perfect background to the stunning views as we walked. A lovely walk marred by StreetWalker twisting his ankle as we started to head downhill, so it was a painful descent for him.
We spotted the log book in its plastic bag on the ground, so we did the paperwork then had a hunt for the missing container. Soon located it, in its proper place, all present and correct, except for the log book. Reunited the two. Nice hide. TFTC.
Logged with wrong date, now fixed

Awesome hike, and great location for a cache, only one person came by me while I was writing in the log book.
Loved this cache. What a great first hide!! Battlebarbie and I were in a rush and had to do some guessing as our Maori was not totally up to speed. Thanks heaps for this cache
Wow, great hiding spot. My first cache in NZ and hopefully not my last (had not internet here, but no translation needed if you have a keen eye and are patient enough to wait for muggle free moments)
Me and MojitoMa were in a hurry, so we only got to translate some of the words. Thankfully, I could guess the other words and the actual GZ was looking a bit suspicious to me, so the cache was a quick find. Very well camouflaged and well kept container. Definitely worth the hike up the Mount. Thanks a lot for making it!!! Got my fave point too! TFTC
Ingenious hide, but easily found on my climb to the summit of Mount Mauganui. TFTC.
Family and friends walk up the Mt. Took the time to find this one while at the summit.
Discovered this audacious hide on the way to the summit and it kindly allowed us to stop for a few minutes to catch our breath. Had no access to Maori language so had to depend on our cacher's eye. Left some swag. Fav point awarded. TFTC and greetings from Scotland
The Whanau and I had just conquered Mauao and decide to grab a cache on the way down ...located this one and Kia kaha lifted it to locate the cache clever hide and thanks for the cache I enjoyed it
Great spot. Found it a few weeks ago but had no pen. Armed with pen this time an now there is a pen in container. Typical. Thanks.
done some maintenance after last few logs noted difficulty. weather and human interference i think. she is all go again.
Joined up with yorkshirekiwi83 today and headed down to Papamoa and Mount Maunganui for a long day of caching. We arrived in Papamoa early in the morning and then spent the rest of this hot summers day making our way to The Mount and finding what caches we could along the way. Once we reached The Mount, we then went for a walk around it, then up and down it, looking for the caches that we hadn't found previously here. This took ages to find, despite understanding the translations, it was very well hidden! TFTC!

Vistra and I had decided to go for a full on day and head down to Papamoa / Mount Maunganui to see if we could get some numbers and quick drive bys.
After the circuit around the mount now was time to drag myself up it! It was very difficult to find as it goes against the rules of caching so wasnt looking for it there, found as it was the only location left. TFTC

Dot Day... And the first official day of the school holidays for me... Woohoo!! Gap (of Fap and Gap) and I was determined to clear off a few more Mount Maunganui caches... We didn't have a lot of early success, but the situation improved as the day progressed.
Our target for today was Mauao... Gap and I have a few caches to visit between us. Our walk would take us up to the top of the mountain, with a variety of diversions for cache hunts. Then back to the base track for a complete circuit... A walk of 6+ kilometres.
We walked straight to this one for a quick find. Not sure what this would gave looked like originally, but judging by the favourite points, it must have been a cracker. TFTC.
