Quick find. Found with Mogni. Plan A trip involved us going to Farina to the bakery up there since the bakery is open only 6 weeks a year and take the 4x4 so we can get more of the caches that aren't on the highway. This trip was supposed to be 3 and a half or 4 and a half days long. It turns out that life changed at the last minute and the trip got shorted to 2 days. So we travelled up just to Port Augusta to place the JAMS account virtual reward 4.0 cache and place my adventure lab cache ( and a couple more that just happened to fall out the 4x4 ). We targeted more dirt road caches since we had the 4x4 and replaced the caches that had broken containers, any caches with logs found full or almost full were replaced. The wether could have been better for the trip but all the heavy down pours happened between caches and we just cached in light rain.

Sir_spectre has been unwell for a few weeks, so we decided to take a weekend off from chores and go and have some fun. many caches were found, many caches now have new logsheets a couple of containers even got replaced. As sir_spectre had his car, so we tackled some of the dirt roads and got his car dirty. Thanks to Ferret52 from mogni RazzRed FaceBig Grin

Was showing a newb the ropes of finding aches and came across this cache. It wasnt my intention to be in this area this weekend as I was initially headed to JLW - There is enough room in the log but the lid of the cache is broken and I didnt have anything remotely close to the cache holder to replace it with - unless you wanted bright green...... and this would have been far too obvious for this cache... Well it’s 2021 and I have finally said good bye to a not so great 2020 and it was great to finally be able to have a reasonable holiday as I have not had a decent break since 2019.
Made to South Australia and finally crossing the boarder and then being greeted by a couple of very friendly SA police offices for which i had the official paper work to allow me to enter.
After making my way west along the Eyre Hwy I went as far as Penong and the Eyre Hwy which I have not travelled along since the late 70’s when I was on a holiday with my folks and this was the last holiday before I started full time work as a sparkie and finding a few caches as I go.
Geocaching when towing a van is not always easy and I have to be a bit selective on which ones I decide to try and find for safe parking purposes especially along busy highways.
So then it was down to the Eyre Peninsula to see the sites down there Venus Bay, Coffin Bay National Park and Lincoln National Park were some highlights and I will come back again to have a better look around.
So after nearly 2 weeks spent on the Eyre Peninsula it was time to start heading back to Victoria but another lockdown in Vic has just occurred so now to change my plans again.
So Port Germaine was my next target for the night.
Another morning spent driving in the rain as I have not had the best weather on this trip what ever happened to summer.
The rain has stopped and as I have rounded the the bay and heading back down south the weather is beautiful on this side of town.
I have finally reached my destination for the night which is Port Germein so time to set up.
Another nice day is beaconing so I did the pier walk early which in my mind I had walked half way to Whyalla by the time I got to the end.
So now to tackle some caches around the town then widen my search area.
Continuing along the scenic drive which is way nicer then the main Hwy route to head south.
Just as I pulled up here 2 cars and a motor bike also pulled up so I checked out the information board “made a couple of phone calls” and the occupants finally decided to go for a walk so I was able to look for this one.
Made a bit of a noise going in due to the long grass and very warm weather but I didn’t notice any wriggly sticks lucky enough.
After a bit of a search I soon spotted the cache, added my name to the log and on to the next one.
Thanks Ferret52 TFTC.

Well camflagued, this took us a while to find, we thought the gps was not working well, but we weren't giving it enough attention.
We thought this was a good place to drop off the geocoin we had picked up earlier in the day. I am sure one of the holidayers camped near by will pck it up and take it urther on its way, but in the mean time there are good views of montain and sea from here.

Hi there Ferret52.

We found your cache **"Scenic Drive - Nelshaby Reserve"** at 2:47:00 PM today. (This makes our find count 15989).

We cached around Gladstone, Port Pirie and Napperby today. On our trek we found a variety of container types. & ended up finding 32 caches with 0 DNF's.

Thanks for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.

###Thanks for not placing an eclipse tin or a 200ml Sistema here. Once upon a time caches seemed to be "regular" sized, and well stocked with goodies for kids to swap. Nowadays it seems like every other cache is small and devoid anything to induce children to enjoy the hunt. It made us feel really good to find this cache in a "special" place.###

**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking. Wink
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** A Smiley Badge.

Thanks for the hunt today,

Regards

Ian & Penny.

We are heading to Alice Springs for the Red Centre event stopping and finding a few caches along the way.
This road was extra scenic today with the sun reflecting off the mountains to the right and a huge rainstorm looming in from the left making us uncertain whether we would be able to finish without getting wet.
The storm clouds to our left are now getting very close but they still haven't reached us and they are also starting to come from around the hills as well. There has been a lot of new work being done near where the GPSr was pointing in the way of the new fence but we are happy to say that the cache is still safe and sound and the log book now contains our name.
Thanks but once again for the cache.

#6443 - 15:00; Day 6 of the Alice Mega Road Trip with Sol de lune and now albida33 who joined us this morning for the rest of the trip, so most logs were signed S.A.L. as a result. After a second night in Burra, we were now caching our way to Port Augusta via Spalding, Gulnare, Crystal Brook, Port Pirie, Napperby, Weeroona Island and Baroota. After finishing our run through Port Pirie, we were now back on the Scenic Drive through Napperby and Nelshaby on our way to Weeroona Island. A productive run with eight finds from eight attempts, stopping at a variety of interesting places along the way. TFTC Ferret52 Smile

On the road to the Alice Springs Mega with LuckyL10n and Albida33. We headed through Burra and Port Pirie before arriving in Port Augusta for the trek up the highway. Collected a good number of caches and all were found with no issues and the logs were soon signed. (Some logs were signed as S.A.L. to save space.)

Thanks for the cache and fun in getting to it and finding it.

After overnighting in Port Pirie it is time to continue our journey northward to the Oz Mega Event in Alice Springs. But first we must place some more smiles on the map for this area.

We've done enough around town and it's now time to hit the road and head north. Can't be damned going up the main road so we are going to take these back roads.

Sorry for the template log but we've left it too late to log this to remember individual caches.

Thanks for taking us off the main drag.

I was, very generously, offered a trip to Whyalla with Moneydork that was too good to refuse!
Today was a working day so while Moneydork worked, I cached Whyalla and the FTF PT Wink
Then after he'd finished work in Whyalla, it was off to Port Augusta for more work, then we finally headed home ...still caching of course! [^]
Sadly, today was a day of 7 DNFs SadSad although 58 Smile finds were made Cool and the last cache of the day for me was a FTF at Redhill Cool
