Logs
(as a side note, the cache itself is now a qualified flyswat...)
Again, with not many others about I had a real hard look but sadly, not hard enough. In fact a party of rolled up as I sat contemplating and reading logs. I sat still as I don't think they saw me in the scrub and in fact I quietly extracted my lunch since they weren't in a particular hurry. Still, no find, although this thankfully was the last of my 6 dnfs for today.
No need for a hint too.
This is where I started to run into a few runners in the area.
Lucky they were few and far between.

Really well done cache
So tagging along with ahomburg today on a nice stroll and maintenance trip up on Baw Baw. Once again I have been here in summer more times then I have in winter. And every time I think to myself how weird it is to see how empty they are.
Anyways thanks for the cache and taking me to the beautiful part of Victoria.
Took the wrong path to this cache to start with but soon found which one I was supposed to be on. I then found the well hidden cache, however really struggled to get it out. After 10 minutes trying was wondering if it would be a DNF, but was able to slowly work it into a position to grab.
Thanks for the cache Ba Luke

After just finding a cache we quickly meandered up the hill to come across this little fellow. This took us far longer than it should’ve, and extracting it was a nightmare! Eventually with four pairs of hands we had it out.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache!
I made the find of this cache quite quickly, somehow. Extracting the cache from its hiding place was a different story. We tried using my big fat fingers, my partner's small fingers, sticks, my pen - EVERYTHING, but it was just too hard to keep a hold if it. Eventually, a TOTT and some concentrating so hard that my tounge pointed in exactly the correct direction, and the cache was free.
Ths was no Bourke street here today, we are back to enjoying untouched, fresh snow everywhere we go. What we had seen on the way to this cache however, was the snow monster in the photo attached. I hope we don't encounter a life sized version of whatever that is today!
TFTC Baluke!
Nothing but net
Well, not quite
Spending far longer trying to extract than we did searching
Fingers, pens, pliers, sticks
All methods were tried
As was the patience
But, at last, it emerged
Huzzah
Lovely area for caching.
Time to go on a wander and I was very lucky here as the cache had fallen out of its perch and just by chance I spotted its green lid in the undergrowth. Replaced up high where I think it once lay.
Thanks baluke!
While up here we couldn't pass up the chance to find a few caches on the return walk from
Mt St Gwinear.

We started at the bottom of the mountain and worked our way up the road to the carpark where we donned our bike helmets and mounted our bikes. From there we rode, and pushed our bikes up some steep inclines, over grassy 'fields' and even at one point carried them through some thick scrub land. During the whole day we only saw three other people so we pretty well had the mountain to ourselves.
Onto the caches, and the hides varied from quick finds to spending some time searching high and low but in the end we found all the caches that were available for us to find. What can I say, other than this is what caching is all about; awesome location, perfect weather, great company and fun, along with a fantastic series of caches to find. What better way to finish of the day with a nice cold beer in the bar with the boys with fantastic views out of the windows.
A big thanks to Baluke for the caches we found today.
Hd a ball up here today on Mt Baw Baw doing this caches - what a great place to visit. No snow this time of year, and bitchumen in carpark so hot it melted out shoes! Fantastic day with no dnfs. All caches were in good nick, some tricker than others.
Thanks baluke for taking me caching in a great part of Victoria - memorable! And thanks lads for a great day!
Find #1834
Today I headed to Mount Baw Baw with Stemicmitsar with the intention of finding caches that would help me qualify for the "Lonely Cache" challenge and both of us qualify for the "Significant Hike" challenge.
This was the first of three occasions that we passed through this intersection today. This was deliberate I hasten to add as there was no other way to get to the caches in this area when one was on foot. SL TFTC
Today I headed up to Mt. Baw Baw with biggles1024 to find a few caches that will help us complete some challengers that we have been working on.
We walked right passed this one to search somewhere else first but when I returned back along the track The cache was spotted in its hide.
Thanks to baluke for placing this cache.
Hmm ... is this cache really unloved? It is! How weird! There were plenty of biking muggles around and a rather bogan family with their not so impressed kid but hey - we liked stretching our legs in the sunshine.
Thanks and cheers

From my last find I stomped across a rough patch of spiky stuff to a track. At ground zero a spot matching the hint would have had the cache disappearing into the bowels of a tree. A loop around and back to where I started soon revealed the correct hiding spot. Great day, thanks Baluke and associates.
At GZ I crashed into the bush, thinking I had spotted the hide, but I hadn't. After three or four more unsuccessful attempts (whilst getting cheers of support from those not sticking their fingers into places that spiders like to hide) I finally had the cache in hand.
Thanks Baluke, nice one!

Thanks to baluke for the cache.
TNLN, thanks baluke
As part of Team Snowshoe the mountain was conquered with all caches found by all. Great weather today for a trek around the slopes, bright blue skies with some cloud, perfect conditions and great company too. Total distance of 7.23km covered.
3rd cache found and a milestone cache too as this one completes the project 81 for me at long last. YAY!! Wow what a journey its been to complete this challenge and a great location and final cache to top it off. Awesome hiking thru the snow in search of plastic.
This was Team Oaky's 1000th find. cache Well done! Also impressive signature in the snow marking the occasion, Red cordial so many uses....
TFTC BaLuke and for taking the time to establish this series, a favorite[^]

Time: 11:25am
Find # 3074
Streak: 10 Days

A plan of sorts was put into action for a group of us, Team Oaky, JosieY, SedgwickDave & fiancee Amanda and myself forming Team Snowshoe to Head to Baw Baw for a day of Snow Shoeing as well as hopefully finding some caches . The weather was absolutely beautiful, the sun was shining, there was no better place to be. We started from the top car park and headed into the whitish yonder.
This cache was a milestone cache for two of the group. Team Oaky's was #1000 find and SedgwickDave was the completion of Project 81, (all the Difficulty and Terrain Combinations). A nice memory with the sun out and Shining. Cache was found without trouble.
Thanks to BaLuke for the cache. TNLN
[green] Got it! Yeh 1000[/green]
Well four years ago a humble 20lt drum was found by the whole team buried behind a tree only 500m from home. Who would of thought that would be the start of some of the most extraordinary adventures?
This weekend saw me looking for a cache to finally mark number 1000. The first plan was to head towards Mount Bogong but as the snow started to fall this week finding any caches up there would be almost impossible. So I made my intentions known on the BWWC Facebook page (A small Group of likeminded cachers) that I was heading up here for some snowshoe geocaching this weekend. Certainly didn’t take much convincing to get a small posse together to tackle these new caches.
For no other particular reason apart from the name (and maybe the location) I thought this one made a good as any candidate for my milestone. As it turned out SedwigeDave had this one ear marked for completion of his P81 so it truly was a slam-dunk for the both of us
Baluke for placing caches in such an awesome location, a lot of fun was had collecting these caches today
[green]Merci beaucoup
Cheers
