Logs
The last one in this great series for us today (time to head south) The bottom & log was missing. TFTC CATONY
Did not find a bison at all. There was a small canister hidden with the lid removed, no logbook or anything. I'm assuming that this was the actual cache and not the old one, though it was a good hiding spot regardless.
Found the cache hanging on its own without the base. Couldn't sign. Needs maintenance. Thanks for the cache!
Quickly located only to find the base of the cache gone and no log present. Will need maintence, we stuck our sticker of our visit. TFTC
Damn, should have checked the previous logs and not just looked at the GPS.
Found with Geokid3 on early morning jaunt, but base still missing.

Found the cache container easily enough, the base is missing and so is the log. CO needs to have a look at this one. TNLN TFTC

Rumbled down the thin black line late last night through the Big Smoke towards the Sunderland Shire and uncharted Territory to try my hand at finding a few caches there in the cool of the dark. Thanks to all who made my evening memorable, Thanks for the adventure

Very nice hiding place, spotted the wire and retrieved cache very easy. Parked right next to it.
Yea! On visiting my daughter and family in the area had a third chance to look for this one.

Rounding out the day we did a couple of these along the one street. Some nice hides but they did bit take too long to find. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC

Hooray, first in the series found. I had my hand only cms from the cache but couldn't find it until I went back through the the logs and spotted a hint. Should have trusted my initial instincts.
This more like it, a bit of lateral thinking needed to find it.

A nice quick find while on holiday with loop1968, we decided to do part of this series between the 2 station as we were coming to look at the tram museum and the park close. TFTC
Australia and a few cache attend this trade for a smiley. Thanks for the nice round, so I could get to know the area better.
I found a lot of the 10000 steps caches. Had an amazing day, and a lot of walking. Thanks for a great series! Best regards from Germany.
TFTC. It was a quick P&G.
It will count towards my 10000 when we walk the geo dogs tonight.

Thanks for providing the 'recovery thread'. No way I'd poke around in there in case of any creepy crawlies

Smirkwood looked right past this one and when I went to double check I found it. I like ones like this tftc
#2 for today. By the looks of things I think not being spotted will be the hardest part of the walk alone the train line. TFTC

After attending an event in Wollongong earlier, I was headed home to Newcastle when I decided to make a short detour to find a few caches in the series. This was the final cache found, as I had to head home...but I'll be back. Quickly found the nicely hidden cache.

Unfortuately, I see now that the cache has been replaced again at a new location. We only had the old coords and a string of logs stating the numerous DNF's we too could not find it. Too bad we didn't have the most recent info in GSAK. As we both only load pocket queries once a week.
no bin anywhere in sight. did find an old empty none magnetised blue eclipse tin on the ground but no other sign of a cash.
Went to the co-ords yet no cache sighted. We searched around an area of maybe 75m or less before remembering a clothing bin not far away, yet that bin was gone also. Was the cache possibly taken with that?
No bin, although there was enough rubbish here to fill one. Too well hidden, or it's gone.
Confusing for me here. Used the new coords and there was no "bin" near. Checked the fence. No go. Walked down 55' to a silver trailer. Not there either. Hmmmm. Went to 170' out to another trailed chained to a blue plastic bin that could have been used at one time for a milk bottle container. This one totally stumped me. Have no idea. I guess it's buried next to one of the fence posts? Spent a good 20 minutes to no avail....so I'll continue on. Regards, tv

The original cache attachment device has indeed gone so we`ve replaced the cache nearby the original GZ but in a more permanent location.

After seeing recent logs I could not resist calling back in to check it out, and it is certainly there. I agree it will have to be moved though, it is way too close to #5. The item has obviously been moved to a more open place, strange site for one of these. I could not wait for the cache to be moved and re-enabled, I don't head south to Sutherland all that often, so thanks for the hide.
As mentioned before hiding spot has simply been moved with cache still attached. 7/18 TFTC
Gotcha !!! TFTC The bin has been moved about 100m North but the cache is still attached so I was able to sign the log.. Guess it'll have to be moved as it's now too close to 1000 STEPS 5.
Looks like the bin has gone, will have to re think this one & replace it, will do my best to have it back online soon.
We had a good look through the piled up mulch around GZ then found where a large item, or bin, had recently been. It has just been removed and the area cleared up, so I'm not sure if the cache is still around, but I have been wrong before!
A very easy find as the container was lying on the ground and could be seen as we approached.
Yes! Our first cache! Fab Phillo (younger brother) found this one well and truly. Fast Reggie (Dad) were about to pass it up and keep on going, when I suggested something. Fast Reggie didn't find anything, but Phillo sure did! Drew a little Australia flag by my log, as it was Australia Day!

Cache check & there has indeed been a clean up behind the bin, we replaced the cache with a magnetic tin, hope this lasts for a while.
Having found this cache before, geoson was out walking his 10000 steps with Cooringah today. This cache is no longer there, or at least not where we previously found it. May need replacing.
Up from Canberra visiting the family for the holidays...so why not take advantage of top weather and spend the day on a geomission around The Shire?
Nope no joy for me here. Looked behind the structure and all that was there was the indentation of where the hide was in the leaves. To double check I even scratched through all of the leaf litter thoroughly. Gone? I'll watch this space!

The hint made this one simple to find and again it was simply a race to see who could grab it first. TFTC!
Not the most pleasant places to be searching around. Someone may think that I was up to something!
We wanted to be quick today so read the hint right away. I was on one side and geomum was on the other. She got it, not for the first time today. Took some photos, signed in and replaced and we were off. Thanks CATONY.
No TB inside.Decided to take the long way home to Canberra from my work visit to the big smoke. Saw the 10k steps and wished I had time to walk instead of driving by. But still a very enjoyable side trail. Need to come back as missed a few on the TAFE side!
TFTC CATONY,
What a great afternoon to undertake the 10,000 steps series. Attacked it with Muggle friends and nana nel. How close is that bridge?
Visited a group of trackables to get some excercise.
