I have been thinking about whether to perform maintenance or archive this cache. It was my first hide.
Today was one of my less successful days for geocaching. I probably “notched up” as many DNFs (or effective DNFs) as successful finds. Admittedly I don't record a DNF if I discard a search in under 60 seconds, which happens occasionally when I survey a given scene and consider my chances of success to be somewhat slim!
I spent a considerable time looking for this one on both sides of the pathway. Checked about every tree, and more, in the vicinity. Rather frustrating to “bomb out”, but that's precisely what happened after an extensive search!

Searched the wrong places and then started more systematically looking. The Takahe looks brilliant today.

In Christchurch for party but taking the opportunity to grab some caches. Quickly found here. Tftc
12 m away from GZ according to my phone. No pencil. Did not sign. Hint needs to change.
After completely the virtuall, I came and grabbed this too. I had attempted it a few years ago but had to leave it as people were nearby.. I managed a quick check but no joy. Turns out I had the right idea, just needed a clear space of people. Today there was a young lady and a few kids walking by, so once they had left I was free to have a good look and make the successful find.
FTC Nosynel, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 5 find(s) of 6 today, making this find #2755

Day #7 of my Geotour.
A short day from Akaroa to Christchurch, although there were plenty of side trips.
All my Geotour must finds have been found. Now for some AdLabs, Virtuals and Large ones.
This was on the way to a Virtual. The GPS had me on the wrong side of the pathe to begin with.
Hedge? I would call this a stone wall but maybe it has been cut back recently.

Found with Lyttelton St Playcentre on excursion - our tamariki’s first cache. Nice simple find, log a little damp but still good. TFTC
While having lunch less than 100 metres away I dashed out to grab this one. I had looked on on it late last year but thought that it might be a long search and time was short. This time having a previous finder confirming that it is quite visible I slowly walked along the hint and sure enough there it was. All good within. Thanks for placing.
Down from Northland for a one week trip to Christchurch to pick up some solved puzzles, challenges, unusual cache types, Jasmer grid fillers, as well as a few others in passing.
Headed up this way to do the virtual and an oldie and just had to look for this one as well. GPS was bouncing me around a bit, but finally Mrs 0B8, called out the magic words. TFTC

Team BOP on another crazy mission to the South Island. Lockdown gave us a lot of free time that we directed into Canterbury’s many Geo-Arts and with the Auckland 2020 Mega postponement, Christchurch was an easy decision. Team BOPs current incarnation is DavidsonClan, NZFlossy, McJandals and myself and we’ve signed all the logs as Team BOP to save time and log space.
So it's Labour Weekend 2020, it’s a numbers mission and on our last day we're having a wander around the Port Hills before we head to the airport. We have a lot of caches to choose from today and we're looking to spend some of our freshly acquired favourite points. This cache was found quickly and in good condition thanks to accurate coords, a straight forward placement and a good hint. Cheers Nosynel & TFTC ??

As Auckland Mega has been postponed we decided to do a trip south to Christchurch. Four of us from Team BOP joined up to share a car and accomodation. I always love these weekends as the company is great and makes our days and nights out caching lots of fun. We have done lots of puzzles in preparation and did some long windy roads to get them. Found lots of great caches and thanks to all the COs for the effort that goes into these Please excuse the copied logs and I will try to make some individual notes on as many as I can This sort of trip is where I find the cachly app very valuable. Nice area TFTC
With the Mega Covid cancelled this year a part of Team BoP decided to come south and try get all our solved puzzles, and some others along the way. So here we are today being our final day before heading back up North.
I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these cache. Many Thanks for bringing me here. Cheers.

.Love this building when we passed it earlier on the way up the road. Now have parked right outside to check out the Virtual here. Leaving that for later but had to visit Foxes and Hounds. Quick snag and tag here. Cheers
Its a long weekend in Christchurch, with The Seagnoid, Zara and Toby, and Star Gazing on the radar. Unfortunately clouds put paid to seeing stars but great event meeting up with the locals. Enjoyed visiting Halswell Quarry, Lincoln, Port Hills and running around after the Smurf family. Cool, fine days and NO rain made for an awesome weekend. Will be back again soon.

Came down on Thursday night with Taybeedragon for a three day geocaching trip and to collect a rare cache type - so rare that this will be the first ever for me - a 10-Year celebration event cache (now rejigged as Community Celebration Events). But that is later today, so we came over to the airport before dawn for a virtual and a few adventure labs and are now just filling in some of the blanks before checking out Halswell Quarry and the event.
Given the hide location this was found much quicker than I expected, thanks to the sharp eyes of the dragon.
Love this building! Gets a path tag and a favourite. And a photo.

Quickly found before my gps had time to settle down.
Thanks for bringing me to this lovely spot.

Visiting Christchurch to see the grown up kids who are on Uni holidays. Enjoyed some spectacular views from the nearby viewing platform. GPS was spot on and made for a quick find. Thanks.
Due to the government ordered Covid-19 lockdown, I will be doing my bit to #slowthespread. From 11.59pm on Wednesday 25 March 2020.
The virus can survive on plastic and paper for longer than three days
If you would like a geocaching related activity to do while you are observing the lockdown, I welcome messages about how to solve my puzzle caches - I am happy to give hints and tutorials so you have lots of new caches to find when this is over.

**Found on our February - March tour around the South Island. Logging back home in Auckland in Lockdown isolation**
We started and ended the day at the Woolston Club, an ideal base for caching around Sumner, Lyttleton and Ferrymead. We had come up here late this afternoon to do the nearby virtual cache. Since we were so close we decided that we might as well add this trad. It took a lot more hunting than expected as the coordinates did not take us to where we eventually found the cache. Thanks.
Took a reading with our GPS. **S43 34.87. E172 38.098**

I love this building and the way it looks out over the city. We had a bit of trouble interpreting the hint but ended up finding the cache and that's all that counts. Thanks .
What a stunning building. Lots of people enjoying sitting outside for their lunch/afternoon tea today. I was quite facinated by the building and because I'm not from here I've had a read about it since - the history around the English manor style and building materials makes interesting reading. Not the quickest of finds here. TFTC # 15,342
On a short walk from home, my son and I found this cache. Luckily for us, recent gardening activities made this an easy find. TFTC
On our last day in Christchurch we came up here for a little walk in Victoria and a nice coffee in the garden of „the sign of the Takahe“!
Afterwards we logged the cache,
TB in and out!
Thanks for hiding!

Took me quite some time to spot this one. Without the hint it wouldn`'t have been any success. The coordinates are a bit in the off.

I came to this one after visiting the nearby Virtual. The Sign of the Takehe is closed for renovation right now, and so I couldn't pop my head in for a look. Will have to come back.
As others have noted, the coords are about 10-15 metres off, and had me looking at the other side of the trail. Careful searching of the ivy led to the find. As also noted, the logsheet was too wet to sign, so I replaced it with a fresh one, and a dry baggie. All ready for the next visitor!

The coordinates were a bit off and I think it could do with a new logbook but anyways tftc
I was in the area scoping out a Virtual cache and a Letter Box Hybrid Cache for an upgrade on my diversity rating in the next day or so. You know how it is, for something like this you need a smooth run, you don't want a DNF or an missing info board to put the kibosh on your best laid plans. Having scoped out this CO's nearby Virtual (congratulations on getting awarded that), I grabbed this and another nearby Traditional. This was a QEF as described in the hint.
It wasn't my intention to be in Christchurch at this time, but a complication in my wife's recent spinal surgery saw us flown down from Blenheim in an air ambulance for another operation to repair the damage. I've got a few caches within walking distance of the hospital, and used a Lime Scooter to get a few a bit further afield and now I've been loaned a car by a relative, I can go even further afield.

An easyish find after visiting the two storey treehouse in Vic Park nearby. Tftc!
Was a little harder to find. Ground level, and just chilling there waiting for someone to find it haha
I had some spare time this morning so went out to find a few caches. This one took longer to find than it should have done. GPS off by about 10m from where I eventually found the cache. TFTC, Biggles.
In the area for work, and had a little time to find a few! This one took longer than it should have. TFTC!
Decided to go out after lunch to find a few caches. We had fun here as were busy foxing around then heard someone walking dog so stopped and took photos. When all was clear we started again. Yeh we found it, very clever well hidden cache. Thanks for this cache Nosynel.
Today, Good Friday, we are spending the day at Port Hills. It's our second week-end in Christchurch, the weather is a bit chilly and windy this morning. We were alone in the bus, and at 9:30 we were also alone in the parc. We stopped looking at coordinates and looked at the clue, and there is was! Container and logbook are in good condition. Thanks for taking us to this little park.
In Christchurch for the weekend with Gadget169 in search of some high FP caches for the Carnival Souvenirs. A nice quick find here TFTC
Came up to CHCH with KJR to find caches with high FP for the carnival souvenir. Nice and easy find this one. TFTC
