Stopping in Nanango for a couple of days, no need to rush to QOGM 22. Got into the caravan park early and set off for some caches. Some caches were damp, but understandably after the amount of rain the area has had. Great containers John and easily with standing the natural elements. Only one DNF on todays adventure.

Spending a day caching around Nanango on all the roads less travelled
Had to laugh, at first I thought we would find we were near a Church. We did administer a little TLC, as the firies have had a bit of fun at GZ.
Thanks to CO’s for taking time to set out and maintain hides and for showing us your very special part of the world

Replaced this one on behalf of the CO after a recent planned burn has taken this one out. All good now. Found whilst on a very non direct route to QOGM - Charleville 2022. On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird (aka Mrs Geo, Salty Chook, the Old Boiler, Old Chook, Dirty Bird, Angry Bird & occasionally even Love Bird). It’s a great day for caching.

A lovely morning driving around the area picking up smileys and this is one we found. We parked opposite GZ and with the hint soon spotted the cache in its hiding place. Log signed and replaced as found. Thanks for this one Youngoldfella.
The wattle has such a gorgeous smell. Perfect time to be here to smell the beautiful scent. There is something nice about these cache containers. Not sure why but they really appeal to me Mrs EMC. Quickly located and smile no. 42 of day 1 of a weekend around Nanango. TFTC.
Tftc Youngoldfella, lovely morning collecting a few smiley before it warms up.
Lots of birds singing.
Road to Kingaroy, missed a few last time, hoping to get them today.

Another one in a place I had forgotten about.. the floods were large...not much of the highway left after it..
Had a bit of trouble finding the pull-off that was the old highway at first. I think it's a bit overgrown now and just looks like long grass from the main highway. Turned down Parsons Road but didn't feel like legging across, so J drove around and found the gravel pile that must have been the old road.
Quick find in the required spot. Nice secure container but wet inside.

WillPunkey, Scoob and I out to take advantage of the ability to drive further from home and abs to get out of the house and do some caching. Parked in the gravel track next to Gz
We had many sets of eyes watching us for this cache. None of them wanted to participate but we did ask, not even a moo was given.
Quick find but container damp inside.

The geogirls and I were doing our usual trip to Ballogie for the holidays and caching as we went. It was so hot that quick park and grabs were the order of the day, so we pulled in close to gz here and made a quick find. Name in the log, I returned all as found and raced back to the airconditioning in the car. Tftc youngoldfella
On our way south after the QOGM event Blackall, grabbing a few caches on the way. We visited your cache at 8:49 am Logs signed Coongoola or CG. Thanks for placing this cache youngoldfella

Had a fab adventure with Ms Maddy today and over the last few days in her efforts to reach a special milestone at the mega. Much appreciated was the hospitality of YOF and his lovely wife at the end of the day. Out this way we found some very durable caches, a small fluffy animal, some swans, cows, dogs, awesome views and rolling fields, surprisingly a lot of cars heading out on their own adventures, the best bakeries in the country ofcourse and a whole lot of laughter. I am not sure how many we picked up but it was over 50. I really appreciated the work put into the large number of caches at Nanango. I am sorry about the generic logs. and a huge Tftc

This was our second weekend out in Nanango travelling the highways and byways searching for Hidden Creatures, finding caches and logging smileys . We dodged truckies and trailers , mud puddles and muggles and clambered over all manner of obstacles in search of the final prizes, all the while trying to keep dry in the drizzle. Thanks to all the CO’s for their efforts in making this a most enjoyable trip. TNLN TFTC .
Crew 153 and I had big plans to try and get 100 caches in a day today.
However, Crew 153's Ford Falcon had other ideas and brought us to a screeching halt at cache number 50 by blowing its fuel pump.
We were both calm and collected about it. We still got 50 caches. Car got safely towed to Kilcoy. Mr Slow Puncture came and rescued us.. and there are still more than enough caches out there for us to try again. There ends my "cut and paste" part of the log
This is one of those caches that you see the correct access in hindsight. Crew 153 had stopped on the other side of the bridge.. so we went back across and through the grass.. only to notice the old road at that point.
We found the cache and signed the log. It was in good condition TFTC youngoldfella

Fangsoki and I had picked this area for a day of caching to find caches for the Hidden Creatures Souvenirs and after an early start I finally finished the day with a total of 53 finds when we struck engine trouble and had to abort the mission.
This cache was find number 51 for the day.
I wasn't watching the GPS close enough and overshot the parking spot so that we had a bit further to walk back to find the cache. A quick find.

Another Cache where I love the parking, There is even a break in the double lines to allow one to cross the highway in a legal manner. How considerate of the local council.
This one was a quick stop, search, sign the log book, return to it's hide and back to the car to continue on our way. All is good here.
Thanks

Plenty of long grass here. We can see there has been some good rainfall out here lately, everything is nice and green, the negative side is everything has grown and we have to climb through it!
We are getting use to splitting our eyes up; one to the ground for snakes and caches, and one up for spiders and caches.
Through the week Mrs 4ando had cleaned out our garage and loaded up the back of the geo-beast for a dump run. Mr 4ando took it down to the dump and returned with an old kung fu weapon with a new idea for it…

Nice camoed container - just had to watch out for the ants on the tree in front as we retrieved it and replaced it .

Pulled up in the side street and wandered over for me to make my find as the other two had done this one in the past. Wish I'd seen that lovely little slip road right beside GZ instead tho, save stomping through all that long grass. Of course neither of my companions mentioned the slip road either

We will be leaving very soon to attend the Red Centre Experience Event being held in Alice Springs and have decided we would try to make that event a milestone ... the only problem is we are a few hundred caches short This was the perfect excuse for a quick road trip through Nanango/Murgon/Kingaroy The weather was a little rainy, but surprisingly we remained relatively dry during the day with the worst of the rain occurring while we camped overnight [^]
We managed to locate this cache easily and with our name added to the log book, we continued on our journey.
Thank you youngoldfella for having placed the cache and for maintaining it for everyone to enjoy

For some time I've been meaning to get back to visit the Burnett region, and today was the day. An early start was made and a 12.5 hr day driving 650km through Blackbutt, Yarraman, Nanango, Kingaroy, Murgon, and up to Boat Mountain.
No trouble locating this one, although it needs to be reported that the o ring appears to be missing, allowing the contents to get wet. Didn't have anything suitable as an o ring replacement.
Thanks **youngoldfella** for bringing us here, this find makes smilie #3340. Discover our trackable TGQNRV .

Travelling around Australia and now super excited to be finally starting our trek to the Easter Geocaching Event at Alice Springs.
Spoilt for choice it was difficult to decide on where to cache today. We decided on a small loop before lunch then a longer list for the afternoon.
We were impressed with the quality of the cache locations and containers here in Nanango. Very happy with our total of 42 finds with only 2 DNF's add to that 1 cache that muggles were hanging around even though we tried twice today. Think we will retry that on Monday when schools in.

I have checked this one and have removed the Log book as it was damp and falling to pieces. The log sheets are rite in the rain paper so please have a suitable en for this type oif paper. There is plenty of parking at GZ if you are driving away from Nanango just deviate onto the old road and park down near the gravel pile. HAVE FUN.
Another one that was on the opposite side of the road for the direction we were travelling.
Mr Beetle grabbed this one and brought it back to the van for me to sign. There was a log book and a log sheet in there so we signed the book.
The contents were a bit damp with this one.
Thanks.

Today was a combination of both domestic duties and geocaching. After moving into the caravan park and saying gidday to the Gullivers it was time to wash clothes, the floor, do some cooking etc. Then out we headed to do some geocaching. We love these rural area for geocaching and we enjoyed the location and finding the cache. Thanks to youngoldfella for its placement and adding to our enjoyment of this location.
Went for another drive when I was advised that the tree had eaten my container. I was able to perform the appropriate operation without any incisions or damage to the tree so the original container is now back in the game. I will keep an eye on this one every few weeks now to ensure that the tree does not eat it again. Have fun.
Well, two birds with one stone is an apt saying for this cache. I found the new cache quick smart and at the same time discovered the old cache that was thought to have been missing however it is still there but being swallowed by the tree. Fortunately the same fate hasn't befallen the new replacement however so I was able to sign the logbook. Cheers youngoldfella! [^][^]
Day 2 of a 3-day getaway with Dutchie1950 and our main objective is to attend youngoldfella's Event later today. We had a few spare hours this morning so decided to collect some caches in town, and while doing that we teamed up with powellbruce, and then the 3 of us took the drive out to Coolabunia.
A quick find by Dutchie as soon as we arrived, but not quite the container we were expecting... A bit of a deeper look and she discovered the original was still in place, just slightly swallowed up TFTC, youngoldfella.

# 1179 - In Nanango with IolantheK this weekend for youngoldfella's 1st event. We 'need' to pick up a few caches today. Not interested in markets anymore we make an early start.
We met up with powellbruce who was happy to come for the ride to a few caches. The next few caches lead us out of town via the D'Aguilar Highway. I found this one easily enough, but when I put it back I noticed a second container below it to my surprise. I didn't try to get it out, but heard later at the event that that one was the original cache and the tree had grown around it
