This area really is worth a visit. Thanks to this well prepared earthcache it is easy to follow and nice to look for the different WP and discover the fossilized remains and impressions, crystals and crinoids. A special thank you to the owner for giving me more information to the last part of question 2. I really enjoyed doing this earthcache und thus will always remember Ulladulla. Thanks for showing + danke. MacPivi

TFTC I absolutely loved it. So a favourite from me. I visited every waypoint, took lots of photos and got very excited. I spent well over an hour exploring and could have spent longer only Mr Muggles was getting impatient. I will email you the answers asap. I did this 2 weeks ago when I was staying at Burrill Lakes. I had a fabulous time down here. I’m from the Hunter Valley.

Fascinating walkabout on the slabs. TFTC.

Thank you for this interesting place to visit, and the advice to check tide times! We managed to get there for low tide and found some great fossils. Extra special cache as it’s my 100th find!

03-Dec-21
Did not find GZ probably due to the tide coming in or just missing it

09-Aug-21
This was super enjoyable. Has to be done at low tide, or you get cold feet.

I arrived to do this cache at 0930 on the 16/5/21 during the incoming tide. This made getting to waypoint 7 very dangerous and hard. First I tried to access WP7 from the beach on the left and got to within 40 meters by following the waypoints, then through the caravan park (the owner told me no access). then is the tracks fron the playing fields at the end of New Street. The cliff just above the cave was to steep to climb down. I headed to the beach on the right of WP7 and in between waves I ran from rock to rock almost getting wet several times. I got some information for the CO and have emailed my answers to them. Photos with my log. Excellent fun avoiding waves for over 60 minutes. Thanks for the cache and the adventure.

Drove South early this morning to drop of the daughter at the St George basin scout Hall and started caching from there working my way further south. Great platform walk with be almost high tide, wet rocks make searching harder, but good fun, took about 45 minutes.

I was in the area over the weekend doing some map n nav stuff with SES so when the opportunity presented itself I made my way to GZ in blustery and chilly conditions to grab the info for this EC.
Some interesting formations at the various waypoints. Answers sent to CO.
Thanks

The tide was dropping and we shared the rock platform with a family enjoying the sunny winter's day and the sea-life. Interesting geology - tftc!

Find #9162

Day 3 of my oz geomuster road trip was much like the first couple of days in terms of weather, picture perfect. Hardly a cloud in the sky and lots of beautiful scenery to go with it.

I was in luck when I arrived and the tide was low. This gave me time to explore the beach area and the various locations of this EarthCache. Cache logged with permission.

Many thanks to Gill & Tony for the cache.

I had a huge weekend down in the Milton/Ulladulla area. An overnight camping trip at Yadboro Flats for a mates birthday was the main reason for the visit. I had a quick look at the map during the week and figured that I could just about wipe the area clean! So I woke up early on Saturday morning and made the drive down. Between 8am and 5pm, I managed to find every cache I attempted! Thanks to all the Cache Owners for their caches.

Gave this one a shot on Sunday. Tides were in my favour. It was an interesting visit! Thanks

What a great spot!!

03-Jul-17
What a great location. So easily accessible and so much fossil material that even a novice like me can find. What a great way to spend a hour or two on a fine winters day carefully aligned with low tide.
We spent a few nights up in the headland caravan park so this was just a short step climb to visit. I did want to bring the kids down but they had other interest to keep them entertained.
My GPS/Phone was playing up on the day so I did struggled to find the exact locations for most of the way points but the photos helped me to find similar things.
Great cache and well worth the visit. Thanks.
I came back the next morning to explore more. Excellent!

14-May-17
Not the first Earthcache that I have DNFd. Probably not the last. I decided to ignore all posted wisdom, and try for this at almost the very top of the tide this morning. More fool me. I found that I could not reach GZ, it being underwater. Instead, I decided to try to head to WP7. I got to within about 70m before the high tide was washing against the rock wall. The only way through would have been swimming, and I was not dressed for that.

I will return!

In the afternoon, while on holidays at the hotel above the earthcache, we came down to do this fossil walk. The first questions took a little while to find because we couldn't find the correct dropstone, however the cave questions were very quick and easy. At reasonably low tide, this walk was quite enjoyable, because there were some really cool fossils on the rocks and there were many safe cliffs that could be climbed. At each of the beaches, we stopped to put our feet into the water. Great earthcache! TFTC Gill & Tony!

22-Nov-16
This was really quite fun, walking on the rocks !

31-Oct-16
We stopped in Ulladulla for lunch and checked for the nearest caches. This was closest to where we parked . . . but the tides ? ? Freaky good luck, it was low tide. At WP1 we made our calculations . . . more freaky good luck. We don't always carry a tape measure, today we did. An excellent place to explore and an interesting earthcache. TFTEC Gill & Tony.

A very enjoyable lesson. Answers sent as required. TFTC

We found this earthcache on the way home from Batemans Bay.
We took a very interesting geological walk along the coast line.
Thank you for showing

I am house sitting down at Batemans Bay for a couple of weeks. Big Grin
And I am slowly finding most of the geocaches in the area. Big Grin
And then I discovered a puzzle a little north of here that is a rare D/T combination. Surprised
Eventually I solved the puzzle and a day trip north was planned. Cool
As I had time, I stopped in town to find a few of the caches as I went north. [^]
WOW, this was a ripper of an Earthcache. I arrived on the outgoing tide with just enough 'dry land' to make my way around the way points. Razz I had been thinking all morning when going to 'cliff side' caches that there should be an earth cache explaining the rock shelves I was walking on ... and I found it. Cool
A fav point from me.
Thanks for the cache.

17-Apr-16
Email with answers sent to CO.

I made a hash of this and it took me three attempts. First I picked a time when the tide was too high. Then I came at it from the wrong side, assuming I could work my way round from the private beach to the east. On the third attempt the tide was low and I was able to cover all the ground necessary.

I've been to Ulladulla many times but this was the first time I'd noticed that there were fossils there. I have this earth cache to thank for that!

Thx Gill and Tony.

Been waiting for some time to do this trail and wasn't disappointed, it is wonderful and full of interesting sights and examples of our Earth from just so far back in time. Great day out, lovely walk and full of interest.
TFTC Gill and Tony, a good one.

Did this cache with seaker200. Always interesting to see and learn new things. Thanks for the information about this site TFTC

30-Jan-15
The second find for the day whilst collecting a few earthcaches in the area. I was a bit worried about accessing this one as there were very high seas today but it wasn't too much of an issue in the end. Collected my answers quickly and then I was on my way. TFTE Gill & Tony!

It was a lovely day to explore the foreshore during the low tide. Very interesting cache and details of each WP. Tftc

Yet another wonderful piece of the NSW coastline. We really enjoy Earthcaches and learning from them. I predict a visit here soon from our son aspitbiker and family as they are all rock fans too!
Many thanks.

TFTC will return again and again, one of my all time favorites.

HAPPY FATHERS DAY !

What a great way to spend a lovely spring Sunday. Geohubby & son went for a bike ride & I went caching. Some awesome evidence here of our past geology & history. Thanks for getting me out & about.

Thanks Gill & Tony

Top earthcache!! Knightech and I visited, and found all the sites except the crinoid. Answers have been emailed.

My ignorant and uncultured GeoSchnauzers were more interested in the dead half-fish left by the birds than the fossils!!! Philistines!!

Thanks for this one. C'mon put me out of my misery, what's that in the cave??

18-Apr-14
Well, this was an interesting and fun earth cache! WP1 was nice and easy! But by the end, the going was tough, due to highish tide! Much balancing was required. Have sent answers to G&T. I love areas like this! Thanks G&T.

11-Apr-14
Hadn't planned on doing this cache, but arrived nearby to find the tide nice and low, so made the trek out along the rock platform, collected the required information and admired the fossils. I am no stranger to platforms such as this, but am usually chasing live creatures, not ancient ones. Thanks Gill & Tony for the cache.

10-Jan-14
I was lucky enough to be able to visit this cache with the CO -my GeoDad Smile this is a fascinating area that even having lived in this town, I have never visited before!
There are some great fossils with amazingly clear details....and I love the colors in the drop stone at WP 7. Definitely earns a favorite point from me!

02-Jan-14
What a great location, I enjoyed the walk with my geosons while enjoying the evening cool beeeze

14-Dec-13
I was fortunate enough to visit this one with the CO today so was given a personal tour of the various features. He dutifully quizzed me for the correct answers at WP1 and WP7 so I could claim the find in good conscience. A really spectacular and under-appreciated area here with many interesting things to see - an EarthCache is the perfect way to highlight it. A favourite for me, TFTC!

13-Dec-13
Geoson NationalSteel came down for a pre-Christmas visit and we came down here together. I wanted his opinion on the terrain rating and he suggested that 2 was too low considering the walk around the headland. I have, accordingly, increased the terrain to 3.

Some travel bugs also accompanied us.

07-Dec-13
I knew we were heading down the coast so checked the tides and they were going to be pretty spot on for a visit to this one. The whole family got out and we went for a great walk- plenty of flora and fauna to be seen- kookaburra, cicadas, dead kangaroo, dead muttonbirds, rockpools, seaweed, some big birds in the trees above dropping loads Surprised.

The kids loved the walk around the rocks and there were some great geological features to see as well.

Managed to find the tile on the second sweep and gathered the answers, which have been duly sent off.

Thanks for a nice experience!

Found today with CJ at low tide whilst in Ulladulla. The answers to the EC questions have been sent to the CO.

This earth cache brings you to a place that most people do not visit. The questions should not be difficult if you read about the formations and find the specific locations referenced in the way points. We found that the description is spot on that you must do this at low tide.

Anyway, it was another great day to chase down south coast caches. Thanks Gill & Tony. We enjoyed another of your caches and your first earth cache. It gets a fav point from me. SL TFTC

28-Nov-13
Found with AM at low tide on a gorgeous day. The cicadas were in fine form, chirping incessantly as we explored the area to answer the questions. AM has sent an email to Gil&Tony for the both of us with the answers to the Qs. Thanks for the cache, G&T!

06-Nov-13
Stopping in Ulladulla overnight on a work trip and a new cache has been no found, couldn't believe my luck , tides down to 1 mm. I have never been to this spot and there is so much to see. The wind is quite strong today and my shoes are not appropriate for this type of walking, however when did that ever stop me. Gathered required information and and Emil is to follow. TFTC. Ooh yer.. *FTF*. : D

06-Nov-13
Be blowed! Thought no way J+J.au would get a FTF on this one but there ya go. I got there about hour and quarter before the afternoon low tide. Took the readings with my compass & visited the cave, taking heaps of photos in between. I could find some of your examples, some not. Met several people just looking for fossils & one local pointed out another location so I'll have a look for that some other time. Thanks for an interesting earthcache & the effort you put into obtaining the info, email to follow.
