We decided that today would be a good day for the geokid to go for a walk along with the hyperactive geopup. I needed a trail that would keep my little guy amused but not being too hard on the terrain rating and I decided that this little boardwalk trail would do the job.
We were not disappointed, we found a mixture of small and large caches and we saw lots of kangaroos. So a total of 8 geocaches was found today on a fun day out.

Hit the boardwalk, then took an embarassingly long time to find this one. First had tunnel vision at the very end of the boardwalk thinking it was tucked out of view, then went and checked the nearby tree with a lot of cool hiding places before finally back to the boardwalk and doh!!! there it was.

A nice quick find on a nice stroll through the remnants of the forest.
Intersting to see the effect and the recovery from the Sampson Flat bushfire. TFTC

Lovely morning for a boardwalk and a forest walk, so we did a couple of loops finding these caches. Dry enough that it wasn't boggy, cool enough that snakes weren't a worry.
Nice to see a variety of container sizes and good hides along the walk. Very familiar area for Mrs Frozen Feet, who spent a lot of time orienteering in these parts as a youngster.
Saw a few roos and lots of birds, and a LOT of campers in the rocky paddock section.

Mrs Bee found a dead tree and needs to remind herself that she shouldnt jump on piles of logs as they may collapse and result in splinters...
Stamped the log and moved onto the next one...

Out for the day knocking off some animal facts with locus cache, ismartis, travellinbees plus geopets brodie and winnie. We went up hills and down hills round bends and over bridges. We seen the fires devastation and the new growth coming back.
Thanks for placing thos cache for us to find.

Brodie and I set out to do the 8 Animal Facts caches on the boardwalk at Mt Crawford Forest and then the 31 OTDs of January down Kuitpo Forest way.
We were accompanied by travellinbees, Winnie and Harleyjohn2569 for the boardwalk caches and then I picked up Ismartis on our way to the Kuitpo caches.
Final total of 47 smileys for the day and lots of fun!
Having heard that this small group of caches are doomed to a pending archiving, I wanted to check them out before they disappear
We parked travellinbees' car at one end and Harry at the other as we knew that a big day was planned.
Great walk in a very dry area....No high grass, no waterlogged boardwalk and very little water in any of the low lying dam/wet areas.
Perfect weather, sunny and yet not hot and many laughs were had at the dog house

Quick find, not sure if it was supposed to be just chucked under but tucked it up and under Sl tftc
After speaking to the CO I wanted to do these caches soon so New Year's Day seemed a good time and after attending Freddo's X Marks the Spot event I headed up here with JJ52 to go for a stroll along the boardwalk.
CPWanderer had warned me to be careful of snakes but thankfully we didn't encounter any.
We found all 8 caches and wondered what it would be like here in the wetter months with more water around for the birds. We never imagined that in a couple of days the nearby hills would have a massive fire burning through them
It did end up getting quite hot so a few shade stops along the way were in order , including a longer stop in the bird hide on the return journey . Silly us did end up here in the hottest part of the day, but we are blaming that on Freddo
Thanks for a lovely boardwalk series 3LG [^]

After attending Freddo's New Year Event Ismartis and I headed up to Mt Crawford forest to have a nice walk along the boardwalk to find the caches that we believe may not be here for much longer.
We parked the car at the suggested spot and armed with plenty of water we set off. [^] [^]
Had a lovely walk stopping for the caches in a variety of hides, although it would have been much more comfortable if it had been about 10 degrees cooler.
Thankfully didn't spot any snakes, no wildlife around except for one small furry animal that ran away quickly after being startled. It was too quick for me to identify.
We found all 8 caches, had numerous stops on the way back and loved the bird hide where we cooled down for a while.
Thanks for the caches 3LG and for bringing us here.

GPSr was a couple metres off, but checking the likely spots came up with the goods. TFTC.
No signal on the iPhone and I'm cursing my lack of preparation. Well, I was here so I might as well walk the board walk even if I can't find caches. Half way to Glow Worm and my phone gets enough signal to at least bring up the map. No cache details and no compass. Just the map, some green cache location markers and my blue flashing location marker. About face, walk back to GZ and hunt around in possible locations. This is how I had to find the rest of the series.
Last cache in this short series. A nice stroll. Where is my car?

What an amazing series of caches along a boardwalk in the forest past wetlands.
This series of 7 caches forms a series that would prrobably rate in my top 10 series for this year.
What a pity it is hidden amoungst the animal facts series and will probably be overlooked by people lumping it in with the other caches.
I had an amazing time walking through here.
I know I will be coming back in the middle of winter to see it flowing with water.
A beautiful experience.

Loving this part of your series, great caches in a great area.
Thank you for the cache 3LG, this was number 2 for the day.

Out for a drive in the hills to find a good spot for lunch. To build up the appetite, I promised a short walk to grab a few of these. Plenty left for next time! Plenty!!
Clear skies to 3LG from TeamAstro.

Took ages to find because jr cacher looked right at it and missed it. It was in the obvious place that I thought it would be in the end. But had a nice look around and a break, and saw a beautiful brown snake (be careful!)
A pleasant walk along the trail past wet lands with surprisingly few water fowls about. Thanks 3LG.
Continuing the walk from Animal Facts : Glow Worm. Found it nice and easy.
Thanks 3LG for the cache

Had to head to Mt Crawford to check conditions for next weeks Scouts Rally SA so grabbed some caches along the way and around the spectator area. There is a lot of water flowing around in the forest so the cars better stay on the tracks next weekend. TFTC.
Still leisurely touring South Australia after the Mega.
After completing a few caches in the morning we headed back to camp for some lunch.
Well as we ate Mr Felix decided that the rain had passed by and wanted to head out caching again. Mrs Felix didn't agree with his weather forecast so agreed to drop him at one end of a walk and pick him up at the other end whilst she stayed dry and read a book. Just over 1km and 8 caches how long can it take [?]
Hmmm well apparently the creeks and streams that we crossed this morning were rather small compared to the dams that Mr Felix had to negotiate this afternoon. See some pics attached.
Indeed some of the caches were floating when located, and the showers of rain just kept coming. When he thought they had passed another few mins and another was upon him.
Certainly an interesting walk in these conditions and the terrain rating is much higher in these wet months. But surely the most memorable of this series.

Today was a day the boardwalk was made for. Water everywhere! The little creek had broken its banks flooding the ground both sides of the walk with little room either side. Just enough room though. Still ended up with wet knees.
Thanks for the cache, 3LG

We enjoyed the walk along this trail and boardwalk, finding caches along the way. Thanks for this part of the AF series. We look forward to finding more of them. Thanks also for the interesting information. TFTC 3LG!
Out with brisal5 and Aussie M & M grabbing a few caches and trying to not get to wet.... Fail on the not getting wet, success on getting the caches.
Thanks
Thanks
Mogni was in town for work...again. So I picked her up and we headed off for some caching in the hills. We called in and collected Aussie Mary who became official driver!
Our driver dropped us at this end of the trail and drove to the other to pick us up. She was going to have a walk with us but as it had just started to drizzle and she had already done these she left us to it.
The rain eased to only tropical monsoon as we found this and then stopped. Out came the sun steam could be seen rising from everywhere. Everything glistened and this boardwalk was the place to be today. Thanks 3LG

Parked at the entrance to the forest and took a lovely short walk along a dirt trail leading to a boardwalk
This was the first cache we located in this great little series placed in the forest
3 groups of school children were waiting with their teachers to hike into the forest
Sighted one young lad with a back pack almost as big as himself
Love reading the information about each animal
Imagine having wings that are see through -breathtaking when the sun catches them no doubt
Took our Tb's along for the hunt

Out for an outing with grandies, started off just cold but then rain set in but no wind so was pleasant walking around. Many different types of fungi in colour and size. TFTF
Found on a walk along the forest trail. Geokids had a great time, despite the cold and wet. Thanks for the great hide
We'd seen this boardwalk being built (and it's taken a long time), so it was nice to finally use it and see what has been developed out here .

We missed this one last weekend because the iPhone had no reception, so we were back with the Garmin today to get this one, and had it in hand nice and quickly. Now - I would like to see a glass winged butterfly - they look very cool! Tnlnsl tftc
Out and about with Miss GG on a wonderful day, we decided to make it a day in the forest.
We saw this little trail and decided that would be perfect for our walk. I did not know this was here how long has it been here... ?
We also checked out the local camp spots... Looks awesome will have to come and camp here and tick off the rest of the caches around
Thanks for the caches 3LG, sorry for the generic log

Wouldn't mind seeing one of these butterflies in the open.
Beta tested this cache when placed so now logging as found.
Loved the walk around this area.
Did you ever eat the mushroom you found Mick?

The boardwalk here looks kind of like it was put up in the dark - lots of very un-straight lines, even when there wasn't any need to curve around anything. Still, it was a very nice walk on a warm day for this time of year. TFTC
Quick and easy find for Silver.
Have seen this whole area under water a few years ago.

Out for a wander on the kids pupil free day.Didn't realise how far this boardwalk goes, saw plenty of skippies on the forest edges.tftc
I was out this way when I saw the new caches pop up, well almost, I'd been orienteering in Para Wirra CP. It was a learning experience getting the coords from the phone onto the GPSr and I managed 6 sets of the 8 before deciding to make a dash for some possible FTFs.
My second FTF for the day.
