Logs
Grabbed this one whilst up in the village for the weekend nearly didn’t climb it was a little hesitant but did it and quick find now to just get down without breaking a leg, bumped into Bunjil the dingo while he was out on his walk so that was an added bonus TFTC SL
Took a little longer that the rest today but using the hints in the logs, we found it quite easily. TFTC
Reading the logs, we were not quite sure what we needed to do.
Ended up that we needed to go up, and knowing the hider’s MO we had an incling. Bingo as we thought.

Just call me Jessie Hickman, I certainly had the bushranger look going on with my long gaiters. And as I stood ontop of my perch the words stick them up escaped my mouth. Lol but alas I needed to find this cache not play games. I pondered and serched before Thankfully discovering a Geo trail that surprisingly led to the cache.
Found 10:01 am
A last minute decision was hatch to take the day and return to one of my favourite areas. The focus today was to tackle the remaining unfound caches on the mountain.
Nearly called this a DNF until finally spotted in a spot I has walk past at least 3 times. Very pleased have smiley here.

Last fine for this trip. We come every year so looking forward to picking up where we left off next year! Really enjoyed this series, thanks!!
Tftc BaLuke & Belle Akela. Bandyoda's big baw baw day out commenced with some drive bys on the way up and then as many on foot as time permitted. Finished up with a reasonable haul over 9.6 km on simply a brilliant Easter day.
Looked long and hard for this one, hint was very clear given the gz, and previous logs suggested I was close. However, despite 3 trips up and down and around, no luck today.

So I packed the bag after parking near Wab Wab 1.
Today I covered just under 20km's in just over 6 hours.
Great weather no wind, too many dnf's and a few smileys.
From the car park I wondered down to GZ.
In initially I thought about walking down from the car park above.
Nope better to follow this trail.
GZ was soon found.
A little climd and a quick search.

After an extremely long enforced break that many cachers had to take during this year. Either way I was keen to get out and sign my name in some tupperware.
So tagging along with ahomburg today on a nice stroll and maintenance trip up on Baw Baw. Once again I have been here in summer more times then I have in winter. And every time I think to myself how weird it is to see how empty they are.
Anyways thanks for the cache and taking me to the beautiful part of Victoria.

Maybe it was just me but I took quite some time to find this one, anyway I got there in the end. TFTC

Cache number two, this took a little longer to locate, but in the end the sneaky cache was found. Cache is in A1 condition.
I was at a loss for something to do this long weekend, so a plan was hatched to hit Baw Baw for a camping trip staying overnight at Phillack Saddle and wandering around on the mountain and also in Baw Baw Village. The weather was absolutely perfect with temperatures in the mid 20s during the day and mid teens overnight. Little did I know that a whole lot of motor heads were also descending on the roads up the mountain for their annual race.
Many thanks to Baluke & BelleAkelea for the cache. TNLN.

This weekend, the WF Waters Ski Lodge are celebrating their 50th year of operation, and so I was up at the lodge cooking up a nice big spit roast to feed the masses! After getting the spit going, we went for a walk along the beech trail and grabbed some caches.
As we made our way along the track, we came to the large geological feature at GZ, and the first thing we did was climb to the top! From there, we appreciated the value of this vantage point for bushrangers, but instead of laying in wait for some poor unsuspecting travellers, we got to work finding the cache. As much fun as that was, it wasn't until we returned to where the poor unsuspecting travellers would have been that we spotted the cache, and then made our way back up to put our name in the log.
TFTC baluke!

You definitely need a better vantage point to spot this one.
Thanks Baluke & BelleAkelea.

No bushrangers today
So we ranged the bush in their stead
Peaced out at the messages
The Gippsland rovers may do stuff
But they don't sign logbooks
At least nowhere could see
But I may be blind

Gippsland Rovers come through here on our Christmas weekend. Nice find, not as high as exoected
Found this one on our second beautiful and clear but windy day up here. TFTC.
My last cache find before leaving the mountain. A nice walk to there and no need to get wet today for me.
I have thoroughly finding these caches in such lovely surrounds in a great day weatherwise. I had a couple of DNFs and forgot to grab some Clues but that is caching. I probably won't be back for the others until after the snow is gone.

My second walk of the day took me to Maltesers, along Beech Track for 2 more and then down the side of the mountain to get Season's Pain and Razorback.
Again the weather was superb autumn conditions and the caches were largely gathered without drama despite my old boots completely giving way near the Razorback cache.
I could see this one but not so easily reached, that is without adding a scratch or two to my growing collection!
I have left a few more caches for the next morning.
Thanks Baluke

Despite it being wet windy and misty we thought we could still grab a few good caches up on the mountain. We headed up the slopes first before and wind got stronger as it already had a chill to it despite being well rugged up. In the end with the conditions we dropped the multi and a few in he more open parts as the wet was causing a chill in the exposed windy parts. A few animals were spotted along the way including 6 Lyre Birds, various wallabies and numerous rabbits.
Now after completing the mystery and the top of the old down hill we did our third loop around the village and a short climb up one slope to test out the wind again. The cold seemed to get to the pen as it struggled to leave a good mark in the logs. We headed off via Venturas, Malteasser, Drops on the Rocks, Road to Know Where, Where's the Beech and Kiss the Teacher then back to the car to dry off and warmup before the drive back. TFTC.

And this is where the "trying to keep dry" thing went out the window....
As much as we tried, there was no way of getting to this one without going a bit bush, through wet bush...I could see it...if only my arm was about 5 feet longer.
So Dad took one for the team and started the whole "getting wetter by the minute" theme that progressed to the last cache, by going bush and retrieving the cache to sign our lives away.
And off to the next one.

light was starting to fail at this point, so glad to make a quick find on this one - thanks baluke
I met the Geelong boys along the South Face Road for an awesome day of caching doing the WAB WAB series of caches on Mt. Baw Baw. Along with Jacko83, one half of The Tritonz and Jag2612 we biked, hiked and bush bashed (a little) our way around the absolutely fabulous terrain and scenery that is Mt. Baw Baw. I had never been there before and the views all around were spectacular. We couldn't have asked for better weather and it was in fact so warm that the asphalt in the car park was melting to our shoes.
We started at the bottom of the mountain and worked our way up the road to the carpark where we donned our bike helmets and mounted our bikes. From there we rode, and pushed our bikes up some steep inclines, over grassy 'fields' and even at one point carried them through some thick scrub land. During the whole day we only saw three other people so we pretty well had the mountain to ourselves.
Onto the caches, and the hides varied from quick finds to spending some time searching high and low but in the end we found all the caches that were available for us to find. What can I say, other than this is what caching is all about; awesome location, perfect weather, great company and fun, along with a fantastic series of caches to find. What better way to finish of the day with a nice cold beer in the bar with the boys with fantastic views out of the windows.
A big thanks to Baluke for the caches we found today.

One half of the tritonz had to work so the other half along with Jacko83, Jag2612 and Quasar3671 set out on a mission to do the Baw Baw series. We took our bikes along to help on the journey even though half the time we were pushing them up the steep hills or carrying them through bushes to take short cuts. We all had an awesome time with beautiful weather and great company. Its hard to imagine this place under snow, we will have to come back in winter just to check it out. Thanks baluke for placing this series in this amazing area.
Headed up here from Geelong at 5am with Jag2612 and Tritonz, and met Quasar3671 on the way. Bikes packed, eski's and sunscreen.
Hd a ball up here today on Mt Baw Baw doing this caches - what a great place to visit. No snow this time of year, and bitchumen in carpark so hot it melted out shoes! Fantastic day with no dnfs. All caches were in good nick, some tricker than others.
Thanks baluke for taking me caching in a great part of Victoria - memorable! And thanks lads for a great day!
Great views!

Silly me went straight past the cache to my slithery friend.

Today I headed to Mount Baw Baw with Stemicmitsar with the intention of finding caches that would help me qualify for the "Lonely Cache" challenge and both of us qualify for the "Significant Hike" challenge.
A bit further along this track which was very easy to walk brought us to this GZ. Steve performed some acrobatics to get to this one and from his vantage point was able to see the cache.

Today I headed up to Mt. Baw Baw with biggles1024 to find a few caches that will help us complete some challengers that we have been working on.
After parking near teachers corner, we made our way along the track until we reached this one.
After reading some info on the cache page we then knew where we had to go, it was the matter of how, with the use of some fallen logs I then scaled new heights and then I was able to see the cache, the log was signed and now it was time to get back down again.
Thanks to baluke for placing this cache.

Even with my high grip boots some logs are still slippery and care is required but cache found safely and all was good. TFTC
Baw Baw has many attractions this weekend. JosieY is doing a crazy marathon as I type. Tomorrow there's an orienteering event. Today for me it's geocaching.
I enjoyed the little adventure off track. Shortly afterwards I saw JosieY with little helpers in the last couple of kilometres of the marathon. She was a metabolic mess in her words.

Another surprise ***FTF*** but a bit of a challenge and we earnt the terrain rating. This cache reminded me of a friend's cache GC2V1D3 which has since been archived. We enjoyed this challenge at the end of day's caching. Thanks for the cache baluke.
