Nice quiet spot here with no snow so grabbed a few caches whilst staying in the village at WF Waters Rover lodge TFTC SL
Lyrics from Rd to no - where
Well, we know where we're goin'
But we don't know where we've been
And we know what we're knowin'
But we can't say what we've seen.
Upon initial inspection I mistook the cache for a leaf and dismissed it 10 minutes later doh lol it pays to inspect everything.

We forgot about geocaching until my wife reminded me. We downloaded the app while walking on this trail and realised we were 10 meters away from it ha!
Found 10:12 am
A last minute decision was hatch to take the day and return to one of my favourite areas. The focus today was to tackle the remaining unfound caches on the mountain.
The hint was helpful with getting this one, should of found it much quicker thou, nice track.

This took us a little while to find, until suddenly we looked in just the right spot and there it was!! Sound a gorgeous day to wander along the Beech Trail. The geokids enjoyed seeing snow for the first time in several years
Wish we would’ve read the description and taken the trail! Went quite a bit off grid to get here!
Forgot a pen to boot, so couldn’t sign the log book…

Tftc BaLuke. Bandyoda's big baw baw day out commenced with some drive bys on the way up and then as many on foot as time permitted. Finished up with a reasonable haul over 9.6 km on simply a brilliant Easter day.
Again, the clue seemed clear, the feature I was at matched the hint and gz, but alas no find. My hit rate at this point of time was abominable with 4 dnfs and only 2 hits. I was starting to doubt a myriad of things, but mainly me. It got a deal better after this.

Yep I tried to hard here.
Sadly after clambering around here and there no joy.
Time to move on.

After an extremely long enforced break that many cachers had to take during this year. Either way I was keen to get out and sign my name in some tupperware.
So tagging along with ahomburg today on a nice stroll and maintenance trip up on Baw Baw. Once again I have been here in summer more times then I have in winter. And every time I think to myself how weird it is to see how empty they are.
Anyways thanks for the cache and taking me to the beautiful part of Victoria.

An event at Toorongo Falls got me closer to the mountain than I expected to be any time soon, so I took the opportunity.
The drive in is a nice workout... almost 40km of twists, turns, switchbacks, steep grades, and oh, so much fun. I have to admit I enjoyed the challenge and the views.
Even in midsummer, the weather can be interesting, and visibility was about 40 metres in the day carpark when I arrived. Perfect for a walk around to the summit and back.
In all, a little over ten klicks of walking while I collected clues to a mystery cache, logged a trig point and took photos for another challenge the mountain than I expected to be any time soon, so I took the opportunity.
Continuing the second loop... a sneaky little hide. Thanks, Baluke & BelleAkelea

Found it, it was a hard spot but a good one couldn't log it because we didn't have a pen TFTC
Decided to spend TB of KTB’s birthday exploring Mount Baw Baw Village and finding some caches. This was the last find of the day. Reading through previous logs helped us find this one. TFTC.
This was a very pleasant track to walk, well it was a beautiful day after all so nice to pick up some caches along the way. TFTC

Today I headed out with biggles1024 on a re-run to Mt. Baw Baw to try and clean up what we had failed to find last time some 3 and a half years ago as well as the ones we didn't get a chance at looking for.
This was the last one on the mountain that we were looking at today, last time this one was a DNF.
We arrived at GZ and started looking around once again but nothing was showing its self straight away, I stood back for a minute and then looked at a grassy patch and once I lifted the grass the cache was sitting there looking back at me.
**Thanks to baluke for placing this cache.**

**Traditional Cache Find #2261**
I headed into the mountains with SteMicMitSar today. An early start and a long day followed. Another cache we'd DNF'd on almost 4 years ago. This time, once again, Steve made the find and having found the cache, the hint made perfect sense.

This cache was the first of the morning after not being able to even search for a couple on the way up the hill due to the car race. No muggle issues this morning and the cache was located nice and easily. All good here.
I was at a loss for something to do this long weekend, so a plan was hatched to hit Baw Baw for a camping trip staying overnight at Phillack Saddle and wandering around on the mountain and also in Baw Baw Village. The weather was absolutely perfect with temperatures in the mid 20s during the day and mid teens overnight. Little did I know that a whole lot of motor heads were also descending on the roads up the mountain for their annual race.
Many thanks to Baluke & BelleAkelea for the cache. TNLN.

This weekend, the WF Waters Ski Lodge are celebrating their 50th year of operation, and so I was up at the lodge cooking up a nice big spit roast to feed the masses! After getting the spit going, we went for a walk along the beech trail and grabbed some caches.
Along the beech trail, someone has recently been along here and set up a "mindfulness trail", so the geosidekick and I had a bit of a chuckle at some of the signs that had been set up and left as we walked along.
The weather is likely to worsen tomorrow, so we were happy to be out in a crisp 6 degrees and brisk wind - lovely caching weather, as long as you remember your beanie!
The hiding spot for this cache is a slight departure from the MO of the CO, but not so much that we were too stumped!
TFTC baluke!

Gippsland Rovers, #MBRCdynamicgeocachingsolutions good find, required a bit of a search
Out for an afternoon of caching with some mixed results. Couldn't find this one.
My second walk of the day took me to Maltesers, along Beech Track for 2 more and then down the side of the mountain to get Season's Pain and Razorback.
Again the weather was superb autumn conditions and the caches were largely gathered without drama despite my old boots completely giving way near the Razorback cache.
This one was one tough hide, could have been on either side and the clue was not really any help. Really glad to find in the end.
I have left a few more caches for the next morning.
Thanks Baluke

Despite it being wet windy and misty we thought we could still grab a few good caches up on the mountain. We headed up the slopes first before and wind got stronger as it already had a chill to it despite being well rugged up. In the end with the conditions we dropped the multi and a few in he more open parts as the wet was causing a chill in the exposed windy parts. A few animals were spotted along the way including 6 Lyre Birds, various wallabies and numerous rabbits.
Now after completing the mystery and the top of the old down hill we did our third loop around the village and a short climb up one slope to test out the wind again. The cold seemed to get to the pen as it struggled to leave a good mark in the logs. We headed off via Venturas, Malteasser, Drops on the Rocks, Road to Know Where, Where's the Beech and Kiss the Teacher then back to the car to dry off and warmup before the drive back. TFTC.

WE both rolled up to this one with the GPSs bouncing from one side of the track to the other, so we did the same, tentatively sticking our arms into places so as not to get to wet and cold after the rain earlier on (and THAT was thrown out the window later.....)
Fortunately the Queen found the cache in a spot that wasn't checked well enough by Dad, so we signed our lives away and took off to the next one.
Thanks baluke for the cache.

I dumped by heavy pack in the car park and started to do a finish off a few of these around the village.
This one had me searching for a long time on both sides of the track.
The clue wasn't much help as there is so much rock around that it didn't really help at all, but eventually found.
thanks baluke!

I met the Geelong boys along the South Face Road for an awesome day of caching doing the WAB WAB series of caches on Mt. Baw Baw. Along with Jacko83, one half of The Tritonz and Jag2612 we biked, hiked and bush bashed (a little) our way around the absolutely fabulous terrain and scenery that is Mt. Baw Baw. I had never been there before and the views all around were spectacular. We couldn't have asked for better weather and it was in fact so warm that the asphalt in the car park was melting to our shoes.
We started at the bottom of the mountain and worked our way up the road to the carpark where we donned our bike helmets and mounted our bikes. From there we rode, and pushed our bikes up some steep inclines, over grassy 'fields' and even at one point carried them through some thick scrub land. During the whole day we only saw three other people so we pretty well had the mountain to ourselves.
Onto the caches, and the hides varied from quick finds to spending some time searching high and low but in the end we found all the caches that were available for us to find. What can I say, other than this is what caching is all about; awesome location, perfect weather, great company and fun, along with a fantastic series of caches to find. What better way to finish of the day with a nice cold beer in the bar with the boys with fantastic views out of the windows.
A big thanks to Baluke for the caches we found today.

One half of the tritonz had to work so the other half along with Jacko83, Jag2612 and Quasar3671 set out on a mission to do the Baw Baw series. We took our bikes along to help on the journey even though half the time we were pushing them up the steep hills or carrying them through bushes to take short cuts. We all had an awesome time with beautiful weather and great company. Its hard to imagine this place under snow, we will have to come back in winter just to check it out. Thanks baluke for placing this series in this amazing area.
Headed up here from Geelong at 5am with Jag2612 and Tritonz, and met Quasar3671 on the way. Bikes packed, eski's and sunscreen.
Hd a ball up here today on Mt Baw Baw doing this caches - what a great place to visit. No snow this time of year, and bitchumen in carpark so hot it melted out shoes! Fantastic day with no dnfs. All caches were in good nick, some tricker than others.
Thanks baluke for taking me caching in a great part of Victoria - memorable! And thanks lads for a great day!

Don't know about that hint?
Maybe the growth has taken over what was previously apparent?

An intriguing cache which try as we might, eluded us on the day. Noting that the last two finders claimed this as their very first finds in geocaching left us quite bewildered given that we both know the CO's hiding style. The hint was of absolutely no use to us because it applied to far too many objects and no particular location.
Would like some confirmation that the cache is still in place.

Not sure if it was just too late in the day or not but this one was not able to be found by us today.
It certainly did not make us feel any better after reading some of the latest logs as it was indicated that this one was there first find.
I would like to know where is though.

My son found his first cache, on our second attempt and after nearly giving up again! He's very proud of himself Forgot a pencil but will come back to sign the book. TFTC!
Last chance to find some caches before the end of the school holidays. Out with The Heybs on this fine but chilly day hoping to find a few of the WAB WAB series. This cache is hidden very well. Thanks baluke for this cache and also for this great series.

A bit slippery under foot on this misty, drizzly day but this one was soon in hand. TFTC
Nice hiding spot, took a few minutes. Unfortunately forgot to bring a pencil. Tftc
Baw Baw has many attractions this weekend. JosieY is doing a crazy marathon as I type. Tomorrow there's an orienteering event. Today for me it's geocaching.
This was my final find on this little expedition, mostly with Essieg. I'll get out again today for sure. Thanks Baluke and BelleAkelea. Second to find was a bit of a surprise too.

We were close to the Village and tempted to head to the restaurant for dinner, but decided to detour along this road to find a few more caches. When we arrived at gz we realised that we were looking for a so-far unlogged cache. We looked for quite a while for this one and as usual, found it in the first place we looked, but 10 minutes later. The log book was blank, and we were surprised with a ***FTF*** Thanks for the cache baluke.
