Being with a previous finder didn't help today, neither did a generous hint from the CO I stayed clear of the wasp nest but feel like I searched right and left of it quite well. Hopefully next time I am driving past the wasps have moved on
Spent the night on the GC so today on our way north we took the opportunity to grab a couple of caches. & I tried this one months ago and were foiled by a large nest of wasps near the GZ coordinates.
Today I went one way & went another….. well I thought she went another!!! I miraculously spied the hide quickly and turned to let my partner in crime know to stop looking. She hadn’t climbed at all. with container in hand an no wasps seen we performed a happy dance whilst walking back to the car adjacent to the busy set of lights

Muggle65 and l spent last night on the coast. We were very close to this cache so decided to don our head torches and have a crack. We had been here previously but l chickened out because of a very busy wasps nest. This morning M65 made a spectacularly fast find and l didn't have to deal with anything. Thank you for the fun
Not easy to look inconspicuous hanging off a wall at dusk... but we needed a cache today and this one seemed like a good contender.
Gps suggested a starting point and after assessing the climb, up I went. Plenty of hand holds but oh so many hidey holes.
After widening the search a little with no luck, I headed back to where my geosenses were suggesting and there it was.
Thanks Monkeymaker for making us feel like kids again.

Parking round the corner the wall didn’t look that high. As we got closer the gradient effect took over. The gradient effect is the key reason why you shouldn’t walk uphill after a few tall necks or downhill if you are allergic to gravity. When we reached the kick-off location it was clear there was fun to be had.
The original plan was to head to the top and see if we could reach over but that would just be soft-cocking it. I just had to get my backside up there.
My wife didn’t volunteer to climb but she seemed keen to volunteer all the places for me to look in from the ground. Next thing I will find out that she is the puppet master pulling all the strings. If she is truly good at it then I will never find out.
Just as I climbed off the wall near the corner we ran into someone that wanted to know what we were doing. Nice to get a fright from the CO after my pants were already brown. tftcii

I thought 53yo women couldn't climb such a thing! Severus tossed the cache back up to me as there was no way I was climbing twice. TFTC heaps of fun.
A bit dark when we arrived at this cache... We could not identify the markers, but identified a likely hide from the ground and soon had the container in our hands. TFTC!
Last cache of the day. Glad the rain held off until the journey home. At GZ couldn't find the markers (in the dark mind you), but the photos and GPS highlighted a spot worth looking at. An attempt was made to climb the wall but fell one rock short. As there was a TOTT in the boot, this came out and the cache thankfully found in the first spot checked. thanks for setting up this cache monkey maker.
Another wanted DT and light for the day had faded quickly. We ere all quite tired but decided we would give this one a go on our way out of the sunset strip. The TOTT again cam in handy and TeamARF scaled the wall to quickly locate the cache. No markers were observed possibly due to the dark but some photo logs guided us with the GPS to the most likely spot! Great cache!!!
Eyeing off for months. Left gps in car. So after trying to spot geaded back to get gps. Luckly parked close by.when we had found where chace likely to be up hubby climbed. Tftc
Pretty funny watching Mr 40 climb the wall, got some funny photos!! TFTC!
Decided to have a go at this one on the way home after picking the kid up from school.
We found a park round the corner and set off towards GZ , I gave my geokid the phone and asked her where she thinks I should start my climb . Wasnt long til she had my route planned and I started to climb. Found it and chucked it down on to the grass and came down to inspect .
There were people in their cars glancing over , I'm sure wondering what I was doing up there.
I didnt feel confident enough to climb back up with the cache in hand so I left it with geokid at the bottom and she threw it up to me when I got there. First throw , first catch . Good teamwork I reckon .
It was a fun little climb .
Thank you

This one had been on my to do list forever. I took Akasha around the corner to the Hidden Valley today and this one fell out at us at the intersection. Can't believe I Never got to this one before. Knowing monkey like I do I had the container in hand on no time.
Cheers mate.

Just reading the cache notes...lol. Wtf, there is markers and crap. I didn't use that, I just bloody climbed and found it. Spoon fed some are. Lol.
Found with the Bug and GeoToddler as it started to rain, I needed to pee, and GeoToddler ate an apple. Bug climbed, I spotted. TFTC
This one was on my hitlist for the day, so I had asked my geobudddies to bring their ladder. (I had been here once before, so knew that I would need it. Not sure if I could, but I was willing to try.) We reached GZ and then spent a considerable amount of time searching for the right place to set the ladder up. Eventually, I was happy with the positioning of the ladder. I took a big gulp and began my ascent. I got further than I expected before my breathing rate began to accelerate rapidly. Another step up and I was starting to feel a little dizzy. [:/] I hugged the ladder and settled myself a little bit before looking to see how much further I needed to go. Maybe just one more rung. Can I do it???? One foot up on the next rung and I stopped again. C'mon!!!!!! You are sooooo close!!!!! A push up and I was on the next rung! I hung on and again let my breathing settle. Then another look up. Maybe it is there. I reached up and was able to touch something that didnt feel like rock! I mad a grab ad triumphantly lifted the cache into the air so that my geobuddies below could see that I had located it. I threw the cache down and slowly followed it. Once on terra firma, I shakily added my name to the log. My knees were unsteady, so Mr RoddyC offered to return the cache to its spot for me. Thank you. I am not sure I could have put it back. I have been working on my fear of heights for some time now. I am happy to say that, although I was waaay out of my comfort zone, this is the highest up a ladder I have managed to climb. TFTC
Spotted this Hide while researching possible Loop-7 DT Hides around The Coast. Dropped by today en-route to Tamborine and scrambled up the Boulder wall for a quick Find. People pay for this sort of fun back home
Probably my most challenging geofind yet. It is a fair way up, so my hint would be to look from across the road first and see if anything doesn't look quite right.
After an unsuccessful attempt at this one on the weekend, which resulted in me scaling the wall from bottom to top in the rain (then aborting the mission after a small panic attack as the rocks became too slippery to safely hold), today I was back with reinforcements [^] Muggle boyfriend (who was less than impressed to see what I had been climbing in the rain) and I located the container easily today and my name was added to the log. I also dropped off a TB to continue its journey. Tftc monkey maker
I agreed to do some caches including tree climbing. The tour should be around 10 caches. That sounds easy. In the end we were 8 geocachers who did the challenge of finding 25 geocaches with unique D/T rating. We spend 14 hours of the day geocaching and it was such a fabulous day!
Out with a group of caches to achieve the 25 caches Unique D/T Rating Challenge. After about 11 hours we had found our 25. Great day but quite warm.
Last climb for the day - quick find. Thanks monkey maker.

So this is my last climbing cache for the day. we got to the base sized up the wall and a look at the description and hint to give us an idea of where to start climb from, and off i went up the rock wall to start my adventure, got the the cache and signed it, it was really easy climbing up and back back down was a little bit more tricky, but made it back down safely. Get to GZ and oh no up again. Love the way GZ still points at the ground even though it is up up up, can we get it from the top.... TFTC
Almost the last few caches for the day - 21 so far. Great place for a cache - but with such a large group standing on the grass, no wonder we had some funny looks from passing traffic! Quick find today.
Found at 6.00pm on 17th February 2016. TFTC.

I was last heading to GZ and as I neared the group, I looked up and said that it was there.
They all looked at me as though I had already done this one. I just knew where to look.
Rusty85 was already up there and had the cache in hand.
We all added our names to the log and the cache was returned to the hide.
TNLNSL TFTC Thanks monkey maker All good with this cache

We are really lucky to be in the area today discovering such cool caches. This was defs 'up there' with them.
Kate decided to try the climb before the task was given over to me, Kates hiking boots not being the best to climb in. My joggers however enabled me to grab this cache and pass it down. Thankfully the makers made this easier as we normally suffer in rock walls. Thanks for recognising this and TFTC. Recovered and returned before an event.

Got ya! So glad this is off my watch list! Came here at 7am with Snickersallan with her special tool. Took a couple of tries. Up, looking left, looking right, down and up and down. Not sure if the painted rock was the marker... looked at previous activities. . And images...try this rock. Yes! Buena mano! It's going to be a good day for caching.

A bit of a group attack on this one. I sent the CO a cute shot for confirmation of find. Tftc
I have wanted to do this one for a while - I did attempt the climb, however fortunately Miss Susan was there to go all the way. Saw some lovely hand painted coloured rocks at the bottom. Great cache! FP just cause the CO is a nice person.
Out for an afternoon with Geo wife & Mr & MrsGT54 after a great event this morning. Had just grabbed a first to find and stopped off here on the way back home. With a little nudge in the right direction I scaled & made the find. The rain starting made the way back down a bit slippery however. Great find. Tftc
Well this cache was a little bit of what brought me to the area today. I quite like something of a little challenge, be it mental or physical.
So I parked a little down the road where it was safe, and wandered along to take a look at this mighty wall. With a little looking I spotted a marker, although I had sort of spotted where the cache might be already, the marker just sort of confirmed it.
So it was just a short wait till the lights were right and any traffic around was flowing at speed in both directions. Soon I was up and up and nearly there, and yes. I actually found the climb not to bad, could have been worse. So a quick sign on the log and replaced before heading back down.

cache find #3489 Mr GT54 was the one who made his way to GZ, signed the log and replaced as found. Found the markers on the way down. MrsGT54 was busy taking photos. TFTC.
Up from Canberra and found with Rapidlywild on a two week geomission around the Gold Coast and, of course, for the MEGA
So with 4 days of caching and over 100+ finds under our belts so far, we've had a great time touring around caching and seeing new places Lovely to cache in the warm QLD weather as well!
Apologies for the somewhat generic logs- it's not easy remembering every single hide so far!
Thanks very much to all of the cache owners for their hides

Second day venturing around the Gold Coast region with specimenX and we were out caching once again. We had a very enjoyable day out and about.
Apologies to all the cache owners for generic logs however we enjoyed the day wandering around the Upper Coomera and Surrounds.

Find #1515
Decided to pay the Goldie a short visit today in the hope of picking up a few friendly smiling faces.
OK, on arrival at GZ I decided this would be one for Geo-Mamma but she just wasn't in the mood to play today!
OK, looks like it's up to me. I'll take one for the team!
Reassessed the situation, rechecked the co-ordinates & I was into it!
Challenged the beast full on & came up trumps!
Cache retrieved, log signed & all replaced as found without any serious injuries!
I did notice an ambulance passing at the most crucial stage which I took as a sign that I would be OK.

A favourite point for making me look good today & for another great cache location.

We did this one about mid morning, about 9 o'clock, and there was a lot of traffic! But we were determined.
We timed the spaces between the traffic lights and only climbed the wall when the traffic was flowing.
Our GPS took us to near the spot, but we couldn't find the marker. So we started climbing the wall. That was the fun part. I think we just wanted to climb it anyway. After a good look we came back down and had another take as to where it could be. Then we saw the marker.... and 10 seconds later we had cache in hand.
Thank you monkey maker, you make the best caches!!!
And we were to be troubled by a few more of yours today Find #203

wide awake at 3am so what do you do ... go caching
ok I admit it ... I am not a climber
having been up 6 trees today I was feeling a bit more confident than usual
but nope ... up three levels and I just didn't feel I could go any further
it was also very busy so was a bit worried about passing muggles
we shall be back

Today teamdfl and I are attempting Fangsoki's Challenge Cache, GC5C5PB "The Unique Difficulty/Terrain Challenge (QLD)". As per the Description, we needed to "find AT LEAST 25 caches in ONE SINGLE DAY - each with a UNIQUE Difficulty / Terrain Combination."
This is my D2.5/T4 cache. And I liked this one!!!! As we arrived I spotted the 1st marker, but didn't quite realise what it was. After a bit of chatting about what to look for I made the connection, and we knew where to start the climb. Right, time for some UP-ness [^]
I had a bit of a survey and worked out my path, then just took to the wall [^] And that was very cool All those rock climbing lessons came in very handy! A minute or so later I spotted the 2nd marker, then made the find [^] Woohoo!! I dropped the container down to teamdfl for signing, and then she threw it back up to me to replace, and got a couple of photos for me! A bit of a slower descent, and we were on our way. TFTC, monkey maker. A favourite point from me.

We are progressing well with our challenge and are well over halfway.
We found a parking spot near GZ and headed over. Not exactly easy to de stealthy, you really just have to go for it. A few yells from passing idiots, but nobody stopped to bother us.
We had a bit of a hunt and we thought we found the marker. I started to climb a couple of spots, but it was not easy.
IolantheK put her climbing lessons to use and made the ascent. The cache was not quite where we had guessed, but very close to it

Walked up and down looking for the marker and trying to work out how high 1.35 was. Gave up and just climbed where the GPS indicated. Spotted quite quickly. Completed the paperwork and then carried on up to the top.

We were heading home after a grabbing a FTF on a Monkey Maker cache just down the road and since we had been meaning to grab this for a while we stopped to have a look. Thanks to the well laid markers and us bringing along Golden Dire Wolf (number one son) to do the climbing it was a quick find. Thanks monkey maker, for placing the 522nd cache we've found so far!
We needed to fill a hole in our calendar so Geo Wife were about to head out for a group of caches a bit further down when Geo Youngest Girl said she would like to come along.
It was then that I thought about this cache because she is our little monkey and it just fitted.
We parked close in a not so orthodox position but we reasoned we wouldn't be there longer with our super climber with us.
We walked along and quickly found the marker near the bottom of the wall and monkey made her way up.
She checked a few spots then climbed higher and spotted it straight away.
She passed the container down to us to check out and sign the log and then she replaced the cache safely back in its hidey hole.

Geoson was super excited to go for this cache as it involved him showing off his specialty skill....climbing. Following the markers, and with a slight boost from me, the boy was off up the wall and had the cache in hand in no time. This one was lots of fun TFTC.
I was pleased that I was able to make the climb, it was quite fun scaling the wall to get to the container.
With the log signed and the cache safely returned to its hiding spot, I was able to descend as I planned, rather than tumbling down.
Thanks for the cache.

Relatively easy find after scaling the wrong part off the wall at first

Great specific directions. Thank you to the CO for this. Found with The Krugers on our way to watch the Wolf of Wall Street. Thought this cache was a little bit appropriate for the occasion. TFTC. TNLN. SL.
Nice easy find thanks to the markers. Took my brother along for his first find. He scaled the wall easily. He's now addicted
I am not approaching the part of my calender where I have days where I have NOT found a cache.
The next three months will see whether I can fill in the gaps.
Today does need a find and this one was it.
A quick find...just followed the GPSr and spotted something up high ( has your marker moved? )
I bought it down to sign then quickly went back up again.
Thanks for the cache.

I was sitting at home trying to work out a place to go caching with Captain Terror. You see it is getting hard finding places that neither of us have touched. We generally have to work out which coast we were going to and today was the Gold Coast's turn. We sat online picking which caches seemed the most interesting for us to get on our last day of caching together for 2013 and this cache made the list.
We parked the car a few metres from GZ in case the Captain decided to take a leap of faith I stood at the bottom looking pretty when he went off and did all the hard work. I really like this partnership we have going on
He dropped the container down to me and I signed our names in the log before throwing it perfectly back to him (it had nothing to do with his catching skills) I suggested going an easier way down and he either agreed or didn't hear me and went that way anyway because he soon disappeared from view and popped out the bottom. Thanks for the cache Monkey maker.

Net88 and I had our little trip planned around the Gold Coast today, cherry-picking the caches that took our fancy, and this one took mine. I enjoy a good climb and a good D/T combo. We had just been for a decent walk and with the windows down we were still cooling off as we got close to this spot.
A U-turn had us on the right side of the road and always one to get my car off the roadway, bumped over the gutter out of traffic's way. Net suggested I park under GZ, but knowing me sometimes taking the rapid descent options, I parked away for fear of a staved in roof. And so we hopped out and went looking.
My method was to let the GPSr settle as to where it was on the x and z, then I'd sort out where it was on the y axis. Thankfully this one has near perfect co-ords and with the right spot detected, I left belongings on the grass and made my way up. It's a pretty easy wall to climb when you have long limbs at your disposal. I looked behind a likely rock. Nope. Over a little. Nope. Up a little higher - got it! Other than being several metres off the ground, it is an easy find. I plucked it out and dropped it to Net for the signing - best I make her do something for the find right? She threw it all back up to me (caught on my first attempt) and I replaced as found. I then went not with the rapid descent, but instead climbed up and walked along the top to get off. A good bit of fun for a find. TFTC monkey maker

I have visited a few retaining/containing walls in search of caches but usually my feet stay firmly planted on the ground. Today I got a bit more exercise than usual as I went in search of this one. The heat of the rocks from the midday sun also added an extra element of difficulty to the find.

Every unique set of Lego has a number.... set number 1785 was released in 1995 and was the introduction of some space travelling robots known as the "Crater Critters". Here is the link.... http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/1785_Introducing_Crater_Critters
Saw that these two new ones were published while we were in church. I thought someone might have got them by now but there was no log. Although it was still raining a bit at home the sky looked a bit better in the direction of the caches so we took off from home. We went to the other one first and then this one. When we were arrived we thought, nah, can't do this one we imagine. Rocks might be slippery etc. We wandered and pondered, and Aussie Bob said: well I'm not climbing the rocks - he doesn't like heights. Then he said: Are you game? Well I took that as a challenge. After monkeyising around a bit we had ourselves a cache - and, best yet, a reward too: yeah FTF at 4:07pm. Woo Hoo! TN but left a few trinkets for the kiddies. (Hope no responsible parent lets them monkey around on the wall though). Thanks for the new caches Monkeymaker. Now, darn, I just wish I could find Under & Over! [^][^]
