Had a bit of trouble found it sitting in the open 10 mts from gz so move it ia few meters close nto a better hide that is more fitting for this cache
I was visiting Dubbo for 4 days to watch my grandson play cricket. On the last day in the afternoon I headed off to find a few. This one looked interesting, being a bit in the bush. I had some trouble finding how to get to near GZ as my iPad had a flat battery but I had written down the Co-ords. My trusty etrex 10 had me wandering about a bit so I looked in a few obvious places and there it was. Signed log and returned as found. All in good dry condition. Thanks for this one in an interesting area with a bit of history according to a sign at the entrance.
Out for an afternoon caching in Dubbo. My car found the road a little tricky, but was able to get close to GZ for a quick find. TFTC.
There does not appear to be a geotrail yet but we did take it slow to be certain we did not place our feet into a hole or trip over hidden branches. The cache is in good condition. SL TFTC
I wandered into GZ from the sports grounds.
A short stroll by the river
Then there was just the matter of negotiating the long grass and masses of 'sticky weed'
What is that weed called ??
And I arrived at a very likely hiding spot,
which I dutifully searched,
searched again,
and for good measure searched for a third time
Nothing found except rotting wood, and bugs
I was about to leave with a DNF when I trod on something.
There hidden in the sticky weeds was a cache
It obviously was not meant to be there,
so I have hidden it in a more likely place where the next cacher should have a much easier time finding it
Assuming some critter doesn't roll it back down into the weeds of course
TFTC

Not a place for a summer find. Snakes alive for sure. Bit steep but hidden we'll
A nice easy find with no muggles.
River muddy, but the whole area is very green.

We got here just after dark and managed to get the 2WD very close to GZ. Might have had second thoughts in daylight. Stumbled down to the river and found after checking a couple of spots. A beaut town to visit especially in this perfect Autumn weather. Thanks Angus88

Not so sure this place is "RV friendly" with the no camping signs about.
Normally a dirt road like this wouldn't bother me but today was in the low work van and trailer and some of the potholes had me a bit worried.
Just as I got to Gz a car pulled up behind me so quickly abandoned the hunt and "inspected the river for a good fishing spot" before heading back to van. As soon as I reached the van the car drove off so made the walk for the second time and quickly signed the log, grabbing the TB in the process.
TFTC, Cheers.

We came to Qld to attend the mega and after we headed of to Kingaroy for a couple of day but now we slowly make the trip back to Adelaide grabbing caches along the way, we thank all those hid caches for us to find along our journey back. TFTC
We visited this one after dusk but had no issue finding the cache.
Lovely area. TFTC

Staying overnight in Dubbo on my way to the Qld Mega. Drove to near the cache and a short walk to GZ. Found in good condition. TFTC Angus88.
We drove the Geovan pretty close to GZ and soon had the cache in hand (wouldn't want to drive our van in there afer a lot of rain though).
Enjoyed the river view (and our last cache in town), then hit the road.

QLD Mega trip 2015 with Sol de Lune. On this almost 400km road trip we drove from Canberra to Stanthorpe caching in all the towns along the way with mostly great success. Around the Mega there were heaps of caches to be done including a few power trails. Despite the weather we got all of the planned caches done.
Day two saw us caching all day while we drove from Dubbo to Tamworth. Today was a great day seeing people voting and finding lots of caches. No RVs around here today. Thanks.

I managed to find the way in with a bit of trial and error and once there it was an easy find in a nice spot.
Found with Albida33 on the way to the Stanthorpe Mega......so please excuse the generic log.
The cache was found without any issues and the log was soon signed....then back in the car and off to continue our travels.
Thanks for the cache and adding to the fun of our Mega trip.....

Found by Mary & David at 1615. A beautiful late afternoon light and shadows over the water. A lovely7 spot to relax although there is a sign that says "no camping". Delighted to see an enormous flock of cockatoos near where we parked. Found an easy way down to GZ, where we found the cache after a brief search. Our thanks to Angus88.
Long grass and thongs are not a good mix but Mr W persisted and got to GZ and back without incident, TFTC
Found it in about 15 minutes, Phone GPS was dead on, the long grass made the adventure a little more uncomfortable
Had a chat with a friendly fisherman who'd only caught one catfish. Wished him luck, found the cache and on our way to find our next one for the evening TFTC
The first day of the new year saw us leaving the Blackman camp site in Warrumbungle National Park and heading west towards Dubbo.
Not sure where we decided to park - but the cache was found and the log signed.

TFTC Angus88. Found with MissChrissy89. Nice spot, had to avoid a few fishing muggles.
Thanks for this hide. Could drive to within 35m. Cache safe, not the dead fox 10m away to the left closer to river. Tftc
My three month Brisbane adventure has started. Day 4, Dubbo to Gunnedah.
Today, I was up at six thirty to take the GeoSchnauzers for a walk or two in the "cool" of the morning, down by the Macquarie River. Nice. I also did a cache on each side of the river while we were there. Then we had breakfast, and, the temperature being 35 degrees already, I decided that today will be a park and drive day, mostly.
No 2 of 15 today. Thanks, Angus88. Beautiful spot. My new 4WD got another minor workout, the cache was a quick find, then I took the GeoSchnauzers for a nice walk in the park. Now for brekky!!

Easy find, bumpy tracks, long grass and hidden holes. All good fun along a river I grew up swimming in most afternoons.

Well, Pprass found it. I was scared off by the chance of Joe Blake. Thanks for the cache.
Found at 4:16 PM in the company of president & 1st lady, GAFF1. It took us a few goes to find access to GZ - we could have done it quicker but there was a huge muddy rutted gully that we could have crossed, but we would have ended up being all muddy for no real purpose when there was a track that went around it.
At GZ we headed for the obvious structure, but it turned out to be just a bit right of it [^]
Thanks Angus88.

Did not find - one half of our team is 4.5 yrs old and the abundance of long grass and threat of snakes was too much. Might have to wait til the grass has cleared or the snakes have gone to ground for the winter!
Beautiful morning for a geocache - birds singing and lovely river spot TFTC!
Wasn't sure that the little Impreza would make it to GZ but pushed on and got there in one piece. Wouldn't have attempted it if the track was wet. Made a quick enough find at this nice spot by the river.

Glad we were in the 4WD today. Also glad it hadn't rained to much this weekend. TFTC. TNLN.
Found with the assistance of geotrack. Track goes straight through put hole mentioned earlier, take care
As we head from town to town as part of our "Purposeful Meander around Oz" the Rats and the Mini Rats found this cache.
This turned out to be our only cache for Dubbo. After finding the right way in we drove nice n close.
Thanks for being part of our great adventure.

After an enjoyable day at the zoo we just had time to look for a few caches. It was all but dark by now but this cache is behind our caravan park so we decided to see what it was about before we move on tomorrow. Mrs.R waited in the car while I took off with the torch. Long grass with lots of holes under foot but the cache was readily found and the log signed. TFTC.
My first experience at this. Loved the little bits inside. Didn't take or leave anything
[font=Comic Sans MS]Hi there Angus88. We found your cache "RV006 Dubbo's River" at 4:09:00 PM today.

Coordinate Accuracy: Good. (We found the cache around 4m from where the GPS said we should be looking.)
Cache Condition: Container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Smiley Badge.

Found it while visiting friends over the weekend. Tftc! Greetings from Germany.

Baby steps needed through here as ground hidden underneath lush grass is riddled with nasty holes deep enough to cause an ankle injury... glad I didn't take GeoK9 for this short sojourn. Found nicely hidden, in good condition and dry. Left TB to continue its travels. Great idea to let more travellers know about this little used unofficial rest area. TFTC!
Sent the geo husband after this one . Will keep this place in mind if we free camp next time we come thru Dubbo - from Tweed Heads
Spending a few days in Dubbo, time to find a few caches that are new since we were here last time.
Thanks Angus88 for placing this cache.
Thanks Angus88 for placing this cache.
that one was fun. going bush! maybe wear some gloves but that would just be unaustralian!
There's nothing like caching in work clothes in the pouring rain in a racing hurry to catch a plane. No wonder I didn't find it! Lots of holes and mud and the site had been disturbed. Clearly wasn't looking in the right place, but looking forward to my next visit to Dubbo. Thanks for the cache, I'll find it next time!
our starting cache for today. so many pot holes not sure if it was pigs( do they have wild pigs here in the middle of Dubbo) or people looking for bait? find was found and log signed we off hunting donkeys!
