OMG we were so happy we didn’t try this and we walked the last 150m. I could just see us ending up the same as the other car down here.
Found the geocache and signed the log. All in good order here. Thanks for bringing us here. It was very peaceful here with the birds all carrying on around us.
If anyone is planning on attempting this track pls can you let us know. We would love to see it conquered.

These were tough little caches but with the dt ratings we expected that. A nice afternoon with McLookers and BeckNMonts and we drove as close as we dared at each cache.
Beck did a great job getting us here
A nice clue here meant it was the quickest find of the three
Thanks Krankitkiwi

beckNmonts drove as far as was practical then we legged it. The eagle eyed beckNmonts spotted the cache on the ground after it had obviously come apart from its attachment. Repairs were not practical so the cache was placed at the base of the tree. Thanks H_3.
I headed out with McLookers & Feathertop today, with this series of caches in mind. We had a great time, and the tracks were nice and dry for us. A slightly cooler day would have been nice, but we can’t have everything. Nice hides, although we did find one that had fallen off the tree. I placed it at the base of the tree, as I tried to tie it back to where it came from, but the line kept breaking. Great series! TFTC H_3
Out for a day of 4WD caching fun with Geoturtle37 and dazzpete. This cache provided a big adventure for the new year. After the girls jumped ship we navigated our way to the bottom of the hill in one piece with just a bit of bum scraping. Hmm, didn't see that rolled over and burnt out unit from the top. After taking care of the cache it was time to head back up again. I decide to try a different line going up and the 80 series wasn't too keen on that, I thought it was going to lie down for a nap at one stage. Picked a different tack on the second try and up she went without a hitch (glad I just got the air lockers dropped back in). Had to give the Jeep a bit of a hand up but this is why we do these things in the company of friends. All in all a great adventure. Thanks for the cache. Now off to see what the next one has to offer.
This little group of caches was our main destination for the day. We were invited to join dazzpete on this expedition, safety in numbers and all that. It proved to be valuable today. I waited at the top whilst the Jeep made its way down. NUP, that is not gonna happen whilst I am in the car. I jumped out and Papi4506 was more than happy to get the chance to drive his car in a manner that it had been bought for. I chose to walk down and must admit that I had my own traction control issues. Some rather scraped legs are all that I have to show for this adventure that I believe could possibly be called "Muddy Pants", and of course a smiley. It is going to be interesting to see what the others around here are like. I feel like I might be doing a lot of walking. Thanks for the cache, I think, and thanks for bringing us here. Beautiful area.
Now we get tot he real reason we are in the area; this litlle clump of higher D/T caches. Whilst this was not the first cache we targeted in the group, as our maps proved inadequate in getting to our first choice, it did prove to be the only one we drove right to. Driving back out proved to be a bit more of a challenge for the Grand gCAV as wheel placement was crucial to ensure forward motion. In the end the merit of travelling with others was shown as a small tug was required to get us through one part.

With a few days off from work, the plan was to get the geo wheels a little dirty on some tracks off the main roads. I was packed with plenty of fluids, the geo toolkit, the PLB, GPSr packed with geocaches and plenty of snacks to get me through. I really enjoyed this geo adventure, plenty of new sites found over the journey. Well the days journey was coming to an end. This was the end goal and I was now done. If I thought the other roads was crazy, just ask the car that has tumbled down the hill here. The cache was spotted quickly today but once again, log was very wet. Thanks for bringing me out here today. Replaced as found.
**Thanks for placing this trad cache for us to find H_3**
**A favourite for the series**
**Cache container ok, log wet**
**Took nothing, Left nothing**

It was certainly muddy tyres and muddy shoes around here, after much rain recently.
After finding another in this area I had an idea of what I was looking for, and it was a quick find.
Thanks H_3.

What better way to spend the day with geoDog out caching in the 4WD. Perfect weather to have a good go at caking not just the 4WD in mud but the dog too.
Fantastic cache spots by the way, Ive enjoyed collecting smileys for a change. And what better way to anoy the caching owner than to put the same description on every cache... Thanks to H_3

Found It.... While out getting the other ones in the series we decided to walk in as we where by our own. So after a stroll down the track we soon arrived at GZ and after a look around the sneaky hide was found so with the log signed we continued on our way. Thanks krankitkiwi for the cache
This is my idea of a perfect outing geocaching. Love combining one of my favorite hobbies with caching. This is a four out of four favorites for the day. Tomorrow we will do the two remaining out at Dando where we have decided to camp for the Christmas holidays. Crazy during New Years there, but at least we can camp with our dogs and go 4x4.

Found on a beautiful sunny Friday out caching with Chris (Tritonz).
I have never been proper 4WDving before so what an experience- edge of seat- loved it.
As for the hides- I really enjoyed them and thought they were quiet creative and liked the search for them. A perfect hide for out here- an ammo can in the bush is not always needed.
Thanks for the adventure- fave point!

Thanks for the info, this is the 3rd time the 'O' rings have gone missing. I know about it and I know they are easy lost. I'm currently fixing this problem. Thanks

With the promise of another wonderful day weather wise we headed westward for a day of caching with Ian & Penny. A few memories were shared and the place names were all familiar, as in a former life H-P lived in the area. The first of the T4 for us! 4x4 No! Increased heartrate yes - as we walked to & from GZ. The log was saturated, luckily we had an all weather log to write on and leave for future hunters.
NOTE TO CO: Log container needs O ring to make it water tight.
TNLN .. . . . SL . . Thanks to krankitkiwi for the hunt.

This was our 11th cache find in a caching run of 16 Finds & 0 DNFs today.

The sun was shining today, and it was definitely too good to waste doing some tasks around the caravan, so we spent a very pleasurable day 'caching with Phetlern.
We have been caching now for over ten years and it is really sad to note the trend of placing small caches without swaps is increasing, especially in a spots such as this - where a larger container could have been placed. We think a 4/4 Cache should have a worthwhile reward at the end of the quest. [:(!]
[/Blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: Excellent. (We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.)
Cache Condition: Container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Nothing.
Thanks krankitkiwi for the hunt today.

We had fun getting to here.....the driver had the appropriate vehicle other wise we would have been walking.
Our GPS really struggled here, so the co-driver gave us a hand....he knew where it "should be".
We enjoyed a leg stretch up the hill while taxi hooned it.
Thanks krankitkiwi for thye cache.

Two 4WD's, four geocachers, one wife, lots of enthusiasm, good weather, dry tracks and we were off to the Otways for the krankitkiwi caches (plus others).
Radio communication between the vehicles helped with the navigation and soon we were at the closest possible location to enable a walk to the cache without the potential of damaging or snagging up a vehicle. A very steep wander/slide down the hill to discover a well camo'd cache. Then a trying climb back up the steep gradient. Is this what is in store for us with the other three?
Thanks very much to krankitkiwi for this series of geographically and topographically challenging caches.

Suscoe found this cache in the company of ozbob, bushfire and buckleysbabe this morning as we headed down to sort out these caches in the Lardner's track area.
We found our way in here and pulled up less than 200 metres from GZ and it was decided that as it was such a delightful morning we would enjoy a stroll in the bush.
A terrific walk down, but the view from down there made the return route up the track look a little daunting.
As today became a shared search and rescue for caches it was soon located and the log signing took place.
Ahhhhh the climb back up awaited us and we enjoyed it with great gusto!
Thanks to krankitkiwi for a wonderful caching experience.

My second find of the day on a day spent hitting the tracks of the Otways with Bushfire, suscoe and ozbob. We drove in - not knowing what we'd find - and stopped about 200m from GZ and checked the track. Time for a walk!! We did not want to end up like that car which we passed half way down!
So, down we walked, scrambled, slid and in we went for a look - one here, one there, another somewhere else until...er....you might want to look over here...
We had it! The log was signed, the cache replaced and then we turned around and looked at where we needed to return to....well, I definitely needed the exercise! So off we went. Up, up, up. Phew! We all made it and it was off to the next.
Thanks krankitkiwi !

We have been planning this trip for a while but it was intensified as the weather could close in at any time and that would make finding these caches that much more difficult. We had ozbob, suscoe (navigator), and BuckleysBabe as co-pilot.
We attacked with two Pajero’s neither of which had winches but we did have a lot of recovery gear just in case. Equipped with two radio’s anybody listening to Bald Headed Man 1 to Bald Headed Man 2 would think we had lost the plot but there were lots of great comments flying through the air.
After leaving Gellibrand we ventured along Lardners Track and eventually arrived at the top of this massive gully that we decided was outside our capabilities and equipment as we are still running ordinary road tyres but that will change once they are worn out.
We attacked this gully with great gusto as it was easy slipping and sliding on the way down where the container was soon spotted, signed and the hard slog back to the top and our trusty vehicles.
The ageing bushfire was the last to struggle back up that mountain which would take some doing after rain. No wonder this area draws the well-equipped 4x4 fraternity to test out their skills.
Big thanks to krankitiwi for planning these caches and then the placement.

we parked at the top of this one as we brought the 4wd that does not have a winch on it this was quite a steep climb down and then back up again .nice hide but not sure how long they will last with no oring in the bison thanks for the exciting day around the area TFTC
4WDing around the Otways seemed like the perfect way to spend Australia Day this year, collecting a few caches as we went was just icing on the cake. It was a warm day but in our air conditioned Amarok, surrounded by the beauty of the area, we had a wonderful day.
The name of this set of four caches drew us like flies to ...., and we were not disappointed. Such a convenient horseshoe of tracks off, and then back to, the main track was a perfect little deviation for us. In the dry heat, there was no sign of mud but somebody had been badly stuck on the sand hill before us leaving it in a bad way. We got through it but at least partly filled in the two foot hole that was making the route impassable and which almost certainly would have led to a chicken trail being created.
The rest of the tracks were just plain fun. We loved the cache camo and found them without too much adieu, although we used the hint on a couple. We signed the little logs and were in our way in no time.
Thank you so much for placing these caches krankitkiwi. Without word of mouth, it is extremely time consuming to find tracks like these which give you a challenge but aren't going to swallow the forby. These four caches epitomize what we believe is the true value of geocaching. Well done!!

The date "11-12-13" should have some smilies and was planning to grab them in Warrnambool. However, some new caches around Gellibrand and also possibly being muggle free meant a change of plans. Being on our own and without a winch, we chose to walk the final bit.
We are sure that many cachers will enjoy the challenging drive right to the GZ and back out.
